Delicious food and very good portions, especially the schnitzel, which comes in so many variations.

The schnitzels here are amazing! Good price/performance… very tasty - gladly again! The only negative point is that you can't pay by card, which is really strange these days but okay 👌

Never experienced such unfriendly employees/operators. Food was okay, but I would never recommend it. The quantity was more than sufficient. The salad was a salad with way too much ready-made dressing. You can make such great salads so easily, but well. Price/performance food was okay, but the service also plays a very important role! There were five of us eating there and each of us was considering whether we should just get up and leave and that was actually because of the manner and unfriendliness of "Heinz" and the lady working there. We don't know if "Heinz" is the operator or an employee. If you don't like working with people, maybe you shouldn't work with people. Cleanliness in the stairwell and the toilets was really disgusting. You don't want to think about whether the kitchen is cleaned with the same level of commitment. Never again!

We ate various schnitzels and pizzas, very good and plentiful food. Great value for money. We'll definitely be back.

The food was mediocre. The burger patty was a ready-made product and the schnitzel came out of the deep fryer and was dry. The service isn't even worth a star. When I asked if I could get a lemon in my cola, the answer came... I didn't... There I did I asked myself if there was one on the schnitzel. Actually, with an answer like that you should have left the restaurant. Unfriendly and inattentive. The ambience was OK. It's a shame we hoped for more based on the mostly positive reviews.

I was really disappointed with my visit. We had to wait two hours, which in my opinion is far too long. Of course, ordering two drinks is normal, but there wasn't even a concession. The glass was very dirty and as if that wasn't bad enough, there was even mold on the ceiling. That was really unhygienic and ruined the entire atmosphere. Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot recommend this place.

We've been coming here for a long time, but unfortunately the service is getting worse and worse. We had to wait a really long time for the food to come and the fries were cold. We didn't let it go back, who knows how long that would have taken... The food is really great, really an insider tip but the service urgently needs to improve! We'll be back and hope for improvement!

Had a Bolognese schnitzel. The portion is large, but so is the price at 18.50 euros. In my opinion, the schnitzel is flattened too flat, coated with a lot of breading and then the whole thing just ends up dry in the deep fryer (it certainly wasn't made in the pan). Some of my edges were so hard and dry that I couldn't eat them. The taste was ok. But nothing more. The salad consisted of a few green leaves, carrot, white cabbage, etc. with a yogurt dressing. None of it tasted like it was homemade. More like cans and bottles. The boss is very friendly and nice. Service so good. Everyone has to decide the ambience for themselves. Is a little older and clocky.

Super big portions and it tastes really good. We have to come back more often because we want to try some of the menu. We had to wait about 60 minutes for food, but it wasn't bad. Thank God we had reservations, the place was full. We'll definitely be back.

We went there based on the reviews. The food was ok, the schnitzel was large but very thinly pounded. But that's just how it is, everyone has different tastes.

Unfortunately, schnitzel and cheese spaetzle couldn't cook everything. Next time it's the burgers 🍔's turn 😋👍🙂

So I was there for dinner yesterday August 1st, 2024 The ambience is quite ok so far. If you like it Service was also quite quick. Food was so-so but it's not an insider tip. You can get better schnitzel for the money everywhere in Bamberg. The schnitzels are large (two pieces) but flattened And what you can't do for the price is made in the deep fryer. (As an Austrian, that's not possible) Therefore very dry and inedible at the edges. The fries were very floppy and 50 cents for ketchup, respect for that. At a price of 15.50 euros, I think that's quite impressive. What was great was the salad, all respect for that it gets 4 stars. All in all, I don't have to go there again and my friends feel the same way. What is not possible these days is that there is no card payment, that is a no go.

Absolute recommendation! Based on recommendations from friends, we visited the restaurant “Zum Ösi”. Away from the tourist hassle, you will be welcomed by a rustic and great atmosphere! The selection of dishes is huge and it is difficult to decide on a dish. We ordered the Alsatian-style schnitzel and the classic Jägerschnitzel. The portions are really great, so no one leaves the restaurant hungry :b! The schnitzel was buttery soft and tasted absolutely delicious! We can only recommend “Zum Ösi” and look forward to our next visit to test our menu 😊!

Super cozy restaurant with a delicious selection of beer (Huppendorfer!). There are all kinds of delicious things, from burgers to pizza to schnitzel, cordon bleu, etc. We got a spot easily after a quick call. The food is delicious, the portions are huge and it is freshly prepared. Unfortunately, that was also the reason for my point deduction because we waited well over an hour for the food. My schnitzel and fries were super crispy. As compensation for the waiting time, there was a short amount on the house. You can pay in cash, not by card. The toilets in the basement are in good condition and clean. Important: The restaurant is not barrier-free. But we'd love to come back.

The little insider tip if you want to eat away from the swarms of tourists. Reservations! Here is the Bamberger. Great prices and a nice down-to-earth restaurant. There were 4 of us, from steak to schnitzel to burgers, everyone thought it was delicious. Try the garlic fries. Sitting outside is also possible! Family run, clean with no frills

If that's not an insider tip! I probably wouldn't have looked for or found the inconspicuous "shack" without a recommendation. But it's absolutely worth a detour! The food is great, the prices are great, the atmosphere is casual and cozy. The service is a bit slow, the owner apparently has everything under control on his own and is customer-oriented and friendly. We will definitely come back on our next visit!

I haven't eaten here for 5 years and wanted to give the place another chance. I was bitterly disappointed, my schnitzel was burnt and the fries were oversalted and burnt. It's a shame but it also explains why the store was half empty...

Wow… Having never experienced anything like this, you don't know where to start. 1. The waiting time until you get food is over an hour, and dessert didn't come after almost 2 hours. In general, orders were forgotten several times. 2. The waitress pushed a lady who was with us out of the way twice! It doesn't work at all! 3. Food is good luck what you get, the fried potatoes which cost €2.50 extra are fried potato slices which are actually just fries! 4. for the prices you can eat better and more pleasantly elsewhere. 5. People who came later ordered the main course including dessert at the same time. Dessert came first… 6. Some burgers were cold. 7. the schnitzels were quite okay 8. Steak was ordered medium and was completely cooked despite being a test cut. Conclusion: it was the worst thing I had ever experienced. Indescribable. For the prices that are quoted you can eat much better!

Essen gut und reichlich Service nur sehr wenig wir mussten 30 min warten um zu zahlen was einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen hat. Ambiente verstaubt. Bier vom Fass sehr gut.

Superklasse Essen zu sehr guten Preisen, das Ambiente ist wie in einer familiengeführten Gaststätte (hier packt jeder mit an) eigen, aber sehr positiv. Mir hat es sehr gut gefallen und die vereinzelt negativen Bewertungen, kann ich nicht in geringster Weise nachvollziehen.

Während unseres Aufenthalts in Bamberg waren wir an einem Abend auch im Restaurant "Beim Ösi" zum Essen. Als wir gegen 18:00 hinkamen, waren nur wenige Plätze belegt, so konnten wir uns auch ohne Reservierung einen Tisch aussuchen. Die Bedienung war freundlich und die Karte bot eine bunte AUswahl bodenständiger Gerichte. Wir entschieden uns für ein Wiener Schnitzel bzw. Burger. Das Schnitzel schmeckte hervorragend, der Burger war mittelmäßig. Von daher würde ich als Mittelwert vier Sterne vergeben. Der Preis war fair, von daher würden wir einen Besuch empfehlen.

Das beste Schnitzel was ich bis jetzt gegessen hab. Pfefferschnitzel ist eine 10 von 10. Essen war schnell fertig. Portion war riesig. Alles hat gepasst.

Gemütliches Lokal. Die Wirtsleute scheinen im Lokal ihr Büro und Wohnzimmer zu haben. Die Soße zum Jägerschnitzel schmeckte eher nach Fertigsoße ein wenig aufgepeppt. Es gibt viele Variationen, die mich anfangs auf die Idee brachten das Lokal öfter aufzusuchen, doch dieser Wunsch besteht nicht mehr.

Super Essen - hier kocht man noch mit liebe. Salat super frisch. Schnitzel ist auf der Zunge vergangen, Burger da läuft einem das Wasser im Munde zusammen. 🙃🫠🤤 Preis - Leistung stimmt 👍 Waren mit 4 Personen hier. Kann man nur empfehlen. Wenn man nicht viel Wert auf frisches, selbst zubereitetes Essen legt, dann kann man dieses Lokal gern mal aufsuchen. Die Pommes waren allerdings super salzig. Das Ambiente ist urig und gemütlich. Mit dem Service und dem Wirt muss man wohl Glück haben - freundlich & herzlich geht anders. Im Gegenteil, recht muffig und mürrisch wurden wir bewirtet. Die Kinder angeraunzt, weil wir uns Bilder an der Wand anschauen wollten. Fazit: für mich gibts da eindeutig überzeugendere Lokale in Bamberg

Ein tolles Lokal mit einer gemütlichen Atmosphäre. Die Speisen werden selbst gekocht und vor allem das Cordon Bleu ist ordentlich gefüllt so wie man es leider nicht mehr oft serviert bekommt.

Das Essen und der Service waren sehr gut, würde tatsächlich auch unter der Woche eine Reservierung empfehlen, da es für einen Donnerstagabend ziemlich voll war, was auch für die Qualität spricht 😁

War ok, gute Hausmannskost. Wenig sehr frisch aber gut gut gekauft würde ich sagen. Es hat geschmeckt und die Portionen waren groß und es schmeckte Keine super Küche aber solide, die Kürbis saisonkarte war gut, ich hatte die Spätzle. Der Kaiserschmarren war nicht ganz so gut, gefühlt nicht fertig gebacken und zu viel Backpulver … war gar nicht fluffig oder kross außen Der Chef im Service war super, nicht aufdringlich, ruhig aber emsig.

Wirklich uriges kleines Restaurant in den Seitenstraßen von Bamberg, fernab der Touristenströme. Eher ein Geheimtip, wo die Einheimischen essen. Sehr nette Wirtsleute. Ich war bestimmt schon 10 mal beim Ösi. Wenn der Chef da ist läuft alles gut und alles ist super. Heute war der Chef nicht da, zack seine Kollegin oder die Chefin ist mega unhöflich. Wir wollten die Bank um die Ecke, weil wir ungestört sein wollten. Die Chefin hat daraufhin genervt und unhöflich gesagt, dass sie keinen extra Tisch mehr aufmacht. Wir sind dann sofort gegangen, weil wir so genervt durch dieses Verhalten waren. Wie wir gegangen sind hat sie uns noch irgendwas hinterhergesagt, dass wir ja sowieso nicht dort hin wollten. Also ich muss ehrlich sagen, wenn man zu faul ist 2 Meter um die Ecke zu laufen und zu bedienen hat es nicht verdient Umsatz zu machen.

Das Essen ist sehr gut und man bekommt den (leider heutzutage seltenen) Eindruck, dass hier noch selbst gekocht wird. Die Schnitzel hier sind die Wucht und zum Vergleich: selbst die letzten Stücke Cordon Bleu waren noch dick gefüllt mit Käse, ein Traum!

Kann die guten Rezensionen nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Laden recht leer gewesen, (waren zu dritt) und wurden trotzdem an den Tisch direkt bei den Toiletten platziert. Die Karte bietet hauptsächlich Barfood und Schnitzel. Allerdings haben wir nicht ganz verstanden, warum man die Panade extra bezahlen muss, sowie die Beilage(auser Pommes). Gesamtpreis 3x Schweineschnitztel ca. 65€, dadurch, dass man alles extra bezahlen musste. Ohne Panade ist es schließlich auch gar kein Schnitzel, sondern einfach ein trockenes, dünnes Stück Schweinefleisch. Wie man sowas als Schnitzel anbieten kann (als Österreicher) ist einfach bodenlos. Also haben wir 3x Schnitzel mit Panade bestellt und es war gut und lecker. Soße sehr gut, Bratkartoffeln ohne Röstung. Haben allerdings auch 45min auf die Schnitzel gewartet. Unsere Bedienung hatte eine unhöfliche Art. Würde da nicht nochmal essen.

Sehr angenehmes familiengeführtes Lokal abseits der Touristenmassen. Wir waren gleich 2 Mal zum Schnitzelessen dort. Es gibt verschiedene fränkische Biere frisch gezapft. Preisleistungsverhältnis is top und der Wirt sehr freundlich. Man kann auch draussen sitzen.

Urige Kneipe mit tollem Ambiente und authentischem Wirt. Sehr gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis, lokalen Biersorten, sehr gutem Essen, ein Geheimtipp für jeden, der abseits der Touristenströme eine ruhige Einkehr sucht. Wir kommen gern nächstes Jahr wieder.

Wenig auffallendes Lokal. Dunkle Einrichtung. Wir saßen auf Bierbänken vor dem Lokal. Abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte. Das Essen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt! Das Außenherum passt nicht so recht zum guten Essen. Viele Leute haben Speisen zum mitnehmen geholt. Somit schmeckt es denen auch 😋 Wir werden aber wieder kommen. 👍

El lugar está ubicado a las afueras del centro / zona turística, por lo que la mayoría de los lugareños cenaron allí. Estaba delicioso schnitzel, buenas raciones, el personal fue amable, aunque tuvimos algunos problemas con la barrera del idioma. Recomendaría venir aquí si busca algo que no sea una trampa para turistas sino una auténtica cena local. Ven con efectivo, ya que no tienen terminal de tarjetas.

Hatten lange vorher für 14 Personen zu 18.30 Uhr reserviert. Um 20 Uhr wurde und gesagt das wir das Lokal um 20.30 Uhr verlassen müssen da neue Gäste kommen. Bei der Buchung wurde uns davon nichts gesagt das wir nur 2 Stunden bleiben dürfen. Ich finde das ist eine Frechheit.

Das Schnitzel Wiener Art war schön dünn und knusprig. Der Rest war etwas lieblos und die Deko naja. Auf den Toiletten sind schmuddelige Automaten (Taschenmuschi, Dessous, „Sexy Überraschung“). Keine EC-Kartenzahlung möglich.

Wir waren jetzt schon zum zweiten Mal dort und es war wieder super! Die Schnitzel vom Ösi sind einfach das Beste. Der Flammkuchen war auch lecker. Die Portionen sind groß und werden zu einem angemessenen Preis angeboten. Ein Kaiserschmarren als Nachtisch ist sehr empfehlenswert. Wir werden auf jeden Fall in dieser urigen Kneipe wieder vorbeischauen!!

Er kocht das, was er kann: Schnitzel, Pizza, Burger. Das ist gut zu einem reellen Preis. Was will man mehr? Kein Chichi. Einfach reell und gut. Unbedingt Tisch reservieren!

Der Service war grottig, der Wirt schlecht gelaunt und unfreundlich. Die Frau am Ausschank stand dem in nichts nach. Unsere Tochter wollte sich ein Buch aus dem Regal zum Ansehen nehmen und wurde unfreundlich angeschnauzt, dass sie die nicht anfassen dürfe. Woher soll man das wissen? Das Essen war okay, aber nicht gut, wir würden hier nicht wieder essen. Eher eine Kneipe, als eine Gaststätte, viel altes Zeug, nicht besonders sauber und teilweise abgeranzt. Hatten Hamburger und Schnitzel. Letzeres war gut, die Hamburger gingen so, haben wir schon viele bessere gegessen, aber eben woanders. Einmal und nicht wieder. Sind auf die guten Bewertungen hier reingefallen.

We went here for the weekly language school Stammtisch. Most of the patrons were locals, the staff was pleasant but not very informative. We arrived after 6pm and ordered our drinks. Then around 30 minutes later, we ordered our meals. Unfortunately, the restaurant had an appliance issue which ended up delaying our meals for an hour, though we were never told what was going on. Meanwhile we were all getting really hungry. Our table got our meals at 8pm, and the other table 20 minutes later. The salads were large, but drowning in dressing. The schnitzel portions were huge, as were the hamburgers. While we did get an apology, I think a discount on the food or drinks would have been a smart gesture on their part. Nevertheless I would say that if you like schnitzel, try this place for a less touristy option.

Eine gemütliche Innenstadtkneipe - ob Feierabendbierchen, eine Runde Karteln oder zum Essen: für alles lohnt sich der Besuch. Die Portionen sind sehr groß, man wird auf jeden Fall satt. Das Essen schmeckt ausgezeichnet, vor allem die Burgerkarte ist das Beste, was man zurzeit in Bamberg findet. Wenn wir das nächste mal nicht eine halbe Stunde warten müssen, bis wir bedient werden und das bestellte Bier dann nicht wieder erst nach weiteren 20 Minuten kommt, dann gibt es die ausgezeichnete Bewertung. Die Servicekräfte waren sehr nett, aber komplett überfordert. Vielleicht einfach mal am Freitag und Samstag eine Servicekraft mehr einstellen - dann werden wir noch öfter kommen :-)

Etwas 'abseits vom Schuss' überzeugt dieser Geheimtipp durch hohe Qualität, große Portionen, vernünftige Preise und nettes Ambiente - gerne wieder!

American tourist here. I found this place on the recommendation of a German friend. It's a small low-key restaraunt at an intersection. I walked in and there was soft lighting and pleasant crowd. The music was low enough to allow conversation, and they played a lot of English songs, to include a few classics from Queen, Guns & Roses, and Billie Joel. The bartender spoke some English and helped make menu recommendations. Beer was cold and fresh. I ordered a steak (listed as "roast beef" on the menu) and it was as tender as what I would expect from a steakhouse back in the states. The side potatoes surprised me; cooked just the right amount with a hearty buttery flavor. I stayed until they were starting to close and had the chance to meet the chef. All around friendly personalities here. I highly recommend this location if you are travelling through Bamberg.

Sehr leckere Schnitzel in den verschiedensten Varianten. Die Beilagen kann man individuell wählen. Angeboten werden zB Pommes, Reis, Spätzle, Rösti und auch Bratkartoffeln oder Käsespätzle. Auch der Beilagensalat schmeckt sehr gut. Und dazu gibt es noch regionales Bier.

It is always good to find a little bar in Germany that does decent food, has a good selection of drinks plus is used by locals. Staying in the nearby Kongresshotel Bamburg we were exploring the area, stumbled upon Zum Osi and decided to visit....

Brought family to have a schnitzel. Traditional Wiener Art schnitzel was great. The non traditional schnitzels were also excellent (we had the Ösi Art and Pizzaschnitzel).
