Polite staff, delicious food! Large selection of alcohol!

We've been guests at Tambosi for many years, especially in the courtyard garden. It's very nice. This time we came without a reservation, and since there were only two of us, we were turned away, even though there were at least 20 tables (4 people each) available and no reservation signs visible. This is completely incomprehensible to us, and if the owner, who knows us, knew this, I'm sure he would be outraged.

Standard. Location central and good but otherwise the cocktails were nothing special.

Tambossi is using its location advantage for being arrogant and lacking of service quality. Get ready to wait 20min to order a simple drink. When you ask them waiter would say it’s their “normal” waiting time. Prices are not too high for Munich scene however, they should focus on serving with quality and respect.

I will be constructive as always. I'll start from the thing that disappointed me the most and what I think interests everyone else: the food!!!! I was attracted by the dishes that look good, but are all tasteless!!! I'm not joking. Literally tasteless. The pizza, well… a classic pizza for tourists. Nothing to say about the service, polite and professional staff... even if the waiter made a disapproving face at me when we sent the wine back without paying attention to the fact that I told him that the dishes were tasteless. Instead of projecting understanding and trying to be helpful, he ignored the problem. For us there was no problem. Luckily we were hungry and filled our stomachs, because there was literally nothing to taste

Beautiful place, but unfortunately very poor service. The waitress comes very late to tell us on the terrace that the cafe machine is broken. Strangely enough, cafes were served inside...big question mark!

Nice location, right in the courtyard garden. The pizzas were consistently very tasty, which I honestly didn't expect. The staff was a bit inexperienced, but more than made up for it with their enthusiasm and charm. We were also welcome with a dog. I also found the champagne menu exciting...

The cake here simply tastes yum. It is probably made without natural ingredients. A nut cake was ordered and a completely different one was brought. With a small cappuccino it costs over 14 euros. Pure rip-off. The ambience is dark. Even though the sun is shining outside, it never gets light inside.

I stopped by this place on my way to the Residenz Museum, but I actually didn't have any good memories of it after arriving in Munich. Due to various issues... So we resigned ourselves and entered. Blonde? A male waiter with short hair welcomed us. Important point here. 1. They asked us if we wanted seats outside or inside. 2. I asked if I wanted to eat or drink. 3. They informed us that they could sit wherever they wanted among the bar seats inside and that they would soon come to take their order. Really... it was the perfect guide. He was the perfect employee with a very friendly and friendly smile and attitude. In addition, they had the sense to serve the beer we ordered by rotating it so that the logo on the glass was visible in front of me. He is just perfect. They didn't even ask for a tip when paying. We wanted to give a tip as a token of appreciation for the friendly service, so we quickly handed over the tip after paying. I don't know the employee's name, but I hope the owner or manager of this restaurant speaks highly of him. Thanks to you, I made a good impression.... Indeed! The interior is also clean and stylish.

As a guest, I had the feeling of being seen as a nuisance and waited a long time for my drink. You have lost me as a customer.

The location is great, the service was friendly - an Aperol Spritz for 10 € is ok for the location in Munich - I personally find 10 € for 0.75l mineral water and 7 € for a 0.098l Crodino to be an extortion - will not come again.

Bad service, we got pizza without napkins and fork/knife. At the end he also kept for himself tips without asking. Ps, the tips are for good service and not for granted.

When we arrived we asked for a table for 8 people (4 children and 4 adults). The waiter said that unfortunately there was no table for 8 people. We then asked if we could push two tables together .We weren't allowed to.Then the waiter said something about children and coming with us.The children sat down.The adults stood there.The waiter pushed chairs together.We asked if we could have the table behind the children but the waiter said that wasn't possible.4 adults and 3 children were sitting, one child was sitting on the father's lap.The question is why aren't we allowed to have 2 tables?There are still many tables that are free and it didn't take us long, we were there around the café and To drink juice, not to eat. The waiters are nice and the cafe and juice are also good. Review by a child

Waiters are kind, but we had a problem with places. We were eight, but couldn't get two tables side by side, although that tables were free.

We waited at least 20 minutes for the first bottle of wine. The pizza with salami was very good. When we asked for the bill, a cellar immediately turned off the heating for us 🫤 There was also an extra bottle of water in the bill, which we ordered but didn't get. The waitress said she couldn't cancel the water. So never really again.

So unfriendly waiters, only bring drinks and food to the tables where people look like they have money. Never been treated so disparagingly and rudely. I work in the catering industry myself and if I behaved like that towards my customers I would no longer have my job.

The atmosphere there is really cool with friends and relaxed, but it just gets on your nerves when you wait three quarters of an hour for a Hugo and he still doesn't come straight away when you remind the waiters. And then to be told off by your boss that you don't feel like waiting anymore and that you're leaving now is just very rude. I don't know if you've ever heard of “the customer is king” but that's how it is now. Ps.: The café at the university has much better service and the atmosphere is great, I can only recommend it.

The lady on duty on Saturday, April 12th, after lunch - apparently responsible for reception and/or service and apparently of Middle Eastern or Turkish origin - was extremely aggressive and rude in both verbal and non-verbal communication. Overall, behavior that is diametrically opposed to the principles of good hospitality - especially when one tries to present it as "Italian". Unacceptable. We just ended up somewhere else!

An absolute waste of time and money. Tambosi is more cashing in on nostalgia rather than the actual ambiance, service or even drinks. Been waiting for about an hour now to get the bill. Forget about the ice cubes i ordered

We were there in the evening and “unfortunately” just sat down. We didn't notice any sign that said you would be admitted. After 30 minutes of being ignored by several waiters, we finally asked. We eventually got our drinks. (Not well mixed either) When we asked, we were told that you don't just sit down. Incredible. You are actually adults and can talk to each other. I can't judge food. Definitely not recommended this store.

The Tambosi is simply cult. Always good for a cappuccino and people watching 👍🏾 ☺️

20 min to wait, no one to serve us.

We were at Tambosi shortly after ten and wanted to know whether it was still possible to order food. When we asked, the waiter gave the cheeky answer that you have the card in your hand. We don't know when the kitchen will close so you can answer normally. The condition, who is of Iraqi origin and looks gay (I have nothing against homosexuality), then got a colleague and, luckily for us, had him serve us. A somewhat small, nice Turk explained to us that the situation was a bit stressful because it was understaffed and, despite the stress, he served us perfectly... Never eat Tambosi again, but it was bland and it wasn't particularly great because of the location, there are plenty of alternatives that offer more.

Very bad idea to come here, the young waitress sat the customer down and I waited half an hour before taking the coffee order. After I left I saw her smoking behind a pillar in the park😅😅😅 *Better choice: I just went to the Starbucks next door and had a hot drink in five minutes.

I can't understand the less good reviews. A few years ago I encountered unfriendly and opinionated waitresses, which is why I avoided the restaurant for a while. But in recent years my experiences have been completely different: whether in the courtyard garden or inside: the service was always quick, friendly and very attentive with a personal touch. The food is of good quality and very reasonably priced. You'll get ripped off with the Prosecco, but my, it's (probably) the best in the city and with Tambosi flair. I was only there on March 21st. 25 there again with 2 very demanding friends: we were all happy, even if the waiter was hesitant at first to give us the table we wanted. At least I had a reservation. My next visits are already planned.

Worst Aperol Spritz I've ever drunk, just watery. And too expensive. Staff unfriendly and takes forever to be served. My review has now been deleted four times for “defamation”, but believe me that only makes me more ambitious to write it again.

You have to wait in line to enter the place. The staff is never helpful and judges us for not speaking German. Even though they got the order wrong, no effort was made to fix it, and they said we had to pay. The pizzas were burnt, but the espresso martini was good. Although it is located in a beautiful place, if you want to have a bad experience, come here. However, they later added tiramisu as compensation.

We didn't eat anything, just drank. Service was super friendly. Unfortunately the acoustics in the restaurant are very, very loud. It was impossible that the flowers on the table, a small vase with roses, were partly dried out and the flower water was streaky and greasy because it had obviously not been replaced in a long time. Sorry, but this table decoration doesn't work at all. Luckily we hadn't ordered any food.

Tambosi is a very remarkable restaurant due to its location in Munich. It seems especially attractive for those who want to feel the open area and the lively atmosphere of the city. However, finding a place can be difficult if the weather is good. The historical texture and decoration of the place is different. Although its menu looks interesting, there are mixed reviews about the price-performance balance. While some are satisfied with the service, others may find it indifferent. While it has the potential to provide an overall pleasant experience, it may not be your perfect fit. It would be better not to go there with high expectations considering the lovely environment it is in.

We were ignored when we entered the restaurant. After a short wait and upon request, we were given a very small table for 3 people even though larger tables were free. And the free tables remained free until the end of the evening. The menu is short and sweet. The prices are quite high. It took a while before we could order. The Tambosi may look chic, but the service is severely lacking.

Worst service in a restaurant in a long time. We ordered 3 beers, they brought us 2 and 15 minutes later the third. I ordered octopus and it came with the cold puree. a shame...

Drinks were okay, but the pizza was absolutely inedible and way too overpriced. And as if it wasn't enough, even when we didn't look for a moment, a bag was stolen from us. Conclusion: not recommended for food or anything else.

#FineDining at the Tambosi Upstairs Winter Pop-up by Thomas Bühner. Thomas Bühner is one of the few chefs in the world to have been awarded 3 Michelin stars. He has been playing in the German league of top chefs for many years. Thomas Bühner spent six years abroad, mainly in Asia, as a chef and gastronomy consultant. Before he opens the new “la vie by Thomas Bühner” in Düsseldorf in April 2025, he will be active with a winter pop-up in Munich on Odeonsplatz. He gets support from Daniel Achilles - awarded 2 Michelin stars. You can choose from a 3 or 4-course menu, which can be expanded to include starters and main courses. The wine list is excellent and the wine pairing offered rounded off the menu perfectly. So I enjoyed an extended menu with a total of 5 Michelin stars at a high level and at a fair price! It wasn't just the kitchen that contributed to this wonderful evening, but also the lovely host Michael Schinharl with his charming and attentive service. Come in only if you have plenty time to spare. The service is horrible. The waiters are disorganized, slow, unfriendly and you wait long to get served or even to pay. Nice location for sitting though....

The Tambosi is a beautiful old 'scene' café in the heart of Munich. Located directly at the Hofgarten, it has a seating area in the inner courtyard, which is a little shady, and a seating area directly at Odeonsplatz. This is a nice place to sit if you want to see and be seen. The price range is upscale, we were surprised, cappuccino for 5.90 (mini cup!) was surprisingly expensive even for Munich. The cheesecake for seven euros wasn't bad either, but in our opinion it was too expensive! The main dish (pasta with mozzarella and tomato) was good and reasonably priced at around €13. Unfortunately, our sitting pleasure was severely affected by a plague of wasps. The service was attentive and good. However, at lunchtime, especially in the sun, the outdoor spaces are always occupied immediately. All in all: nice seating that costs something.

We were actually warmly welcomed. From the ambience you can tell that this is an average upscale restaurant. So I definitely expected higher prices when we sat down for a cup of coffee/tea. So I ordered a tea (for a whopping €5.70) which was quite expensive anyway for a tea bag and hot water. Unfortunately, when the tea glasses arrived I was disappointed. The glasses were certainly clean, but very scratched and unsightly, and only about 2/3 full. For the price I think that's a disgrace. The service was ok. As I said, the atmosphere is lovely. It's a shame when the content unfortunately promises less.

Actually a wonderful place to watch the people of Munich. But the prices are way too high and the quality is low. The service was also better.

When my battery was empty, Albert immediately gave me his - a really nice gesture! You can tell that he is not only helpful, but also very confident and has a great feel for customers. A real professional with heart! I would also like to highlight the bartender Boris, a super bartender that you rarely find in Munich. Of course there are five stars for him too!

Unfortunately, the waitresses here were only partly friendly. The food is way too expensive for the quality and taste. I can't recommend the Hugos Special Pizza for just under €27. Overall, no reason for a second visit.

The location is very nice but unfortunately the service is subpar. It's a shame, when it was still the Tambosi and not the Hugos, people liked going there. Now it is massively overpriced and you are treated condescendingly if you are served at all.

Italian restaurant on Odeonsplatz / near the Hofgarten. In summer you can sit on the terrace below the trees in the courtyard garden. Truffle pizza is highly recommended.

Whether indoors or outdoors, employees seem more concerned with themselves than providing good service. The team at the bar and in the kitchen do a good job, but the prices are not proportional to the portion size. It was once a top address, but the lackluster demeanor of the service staff is now affecting the ambience.

Perfect comfortable place for lunch. Had pizza and Hugo. Service was attentive and kind.

After a long time I was back in Tambosi. For the last time. It's not just the prices that are outrageous. A small juice spritzer costs €6.20. No, the young man who insulted the service worker was much worse. I originally wanted to eat something, but was seated, less friendly, more arrogant. I decided to just have a little drink, but I had to leave my seat even though there were enough tables available. When I got up, I caught my coat and knocked over an empty glass. I was then accused of doing this on purpose. I was paraded loudly in front of all the guests. An impudence. It's a shame that such a beautifully located restaurant, a great place in the sun for Munich residents and visitors, has become such a bad restaurant. The reviews speak for themselves.

Since the change of tenant I have visited Tambosi four times, most recently 1.5 years ago. The location is really great - whether on the terrace at the Hofgarten, indoors or with a view of the Theatinerkirche. Unfortunately, service was very slow on each visit and I had to ask multiple times to place orders. The taste of the food (pizza and pasta) was okay, but I didn't think it was good value for money. In my opinion, there are alternatives in downtown Munich with a better overall experience. It's a shame because the atmosphere has a lot of potential.

Better than average cakes and the location is great for people watching but the service was extremely slow and generally dismissive.

Waitress very nice, but boss with a pigtail, dark hair and a bit taller very unfriendly! Gave us the wrong food and didn't even want to exchange it afterwards. We were forced to pay even though we hadn't ordered it. Very poor performance for this price. Customer should be king! Not in every case, but if the order is incorrect it is. I wouldn't recommend it!! Very unprofessional behavior for this price. And the food is also quite ok and is definitely better in some cheaper restaurants.

I come from wide Ulm. Great ambience in a top location. From now on, every time you visit Munich, go to TAMBOSI!

We once again had a wonderful evening at Tambosi. The service was extremely friendly and attentive from start to finish and the food was delicious, just like in Italy. Just a nice place to chat while eating and drinking well.

Horrible Mini Capuchino, €6.50, no water included, upon request: Nope. No service, arrogant, expensive but the sun was friendly and free. I still left the broth and left without a tip.

Came in, asked if they still serve food. They said yes. We sit down and order Pizza. Sorry, no Pizza anymore, at 16:00 again... Good itself was nice

We were seated relatively quickly. Despite two waiters, we waited 1 1/2 hours until we were served. Other customers were yelled at when they tried to sit down even though the entire area was clear. After 30 minutes we received our ordered coffee. No sign of our pizzas or water. They then said there were no pizzas, even though the table next door had eaten some!?! We then canceled the water, of course the waiter didn't know what water we were talking about. When we paid for the overpriced and bad coffee, we got stupid looks, which is why we don't tip for the service.

I didn't like, because Hot chocolate it was cold. But the dessert it was good.

The service at Tambosi is second to none when it comes to ignorance and arrogance. Even in a moderately busy restaurant it is not possible to be noticed. Even if you know it, it is always annoying to encounter such disinterested staff. Such a shame for such a nice restaurant with very good cuisine.

It has become very expensive and the service has become worse at the same time.

Arrogant and arrogant waitress who didn't want to take an order because she had "placed herself". There was no signage system to be found anywhere. Next to us she served her compatriots who had "placed themselves" after us. Very strange and incomprehensible We were happy to have our espresso and spritz in the neighborhood, where we were welcome as guests. Unfortunately, it is almost unbearable how the guests are treated by the staff. Nothing remains of the charm and quality that Tambosi was once known for. The service, especially Luna, seems unprofessional, listless and disinterested, and the allocation of tables seems to depend on the mood of the staff. You also have to expect longer waiting times when paying.

The waitress was very unfriendly. I went there with two friends, there were many empty tables, only a couple reserved and empty. We just wanted to be there maximum an hour and ask the waitress where we could sit. She didn’t even looked at us and said that without reservation she had nothing for us… come on… we were only three people and the place had many free tables… very disappointing!

The nightmare of every guest and manager. Empty tables outside kept free for regulars. Overbearing waitresses whose arrogance cannot be surpassed. We had made a reservation a long time ago, when we arrived we were told in a very unfriendly, indignant manner that we were in the way and didn't let us have a say, after a long wait the person appeared again (displeased shift manager J. or Y.) when asked, Where was our reserved place, she shouted at us that a reservation couldn't be made and even when we showed the written confirmation, she remained unspeakably unfriendly and still didn't want to accept it - our recommendation: look for a job that you can has grown and where you have nothing to do with people - however, the service at the table was worlds friendlier, more personable and more attentive 😀

I have to wait for more than half an hour to get the bill. The service is generally not so good .
