MOZZAMO in München

Nice upscale restaurant with traditional Italian dishes. We spent a very nice evening here. The mozzarella bar is highly recommended. The service was very accommodating (thanks again to Tobi).

The environment is very welcoming, the food good by Munich standards, but the staff absolutely rude. After thirty minutes of waiting in the rain (with a table already booked for some time) we were told that the wait would last another half hour, with a lot of arrogance and superficiality on the part of the hostess. We had to leave and look for another place to have dinner.

For me the best pizza in Munich.

We reserved a table there for dinner Great ambience and wine but unfortunately the dressing on the salad wasn't my cup of tea and the pizza was unfortunately very soggy. My girlfriend had the sage ravioli which were very good!

I found the Mozzamo very good. The food is still good, the shop is beautifully and stylishly decorated. However, the service is now very hectic and rude. After 1:40 hours we were informed that we should pay if we didn't order something else now. And after paying, I was immediately told to leave because there were so many people standing in the entrance waiting. 2 hours were still not over. Unfortunately I found that very rude. We knew that for 2 hours in advance, but you can tell the guests that in a friendly manner at the beginning and not throw them out like that... Unfortunately, I won't be coming back now, there are enough alternatives. May be recommended for lunch if things have to go quickly.

I went to Mozzamo for the second time today - we thought the pizza was fantastic. This time we invited the 5 friends with 6 children. Normally the waiters are supposed to look forward to the guests, right? But not at Mozzamo. The waiter, whom I already knew, was, as before, clearly dissatisfied with his job. Arrogant and not nice. We waited almost an hour for the food. All of us gave him the tip anyway. Together we spent around 300 euros and everyone gave individual money tips. But the best thing came at the end: in response to my 2 euros, the waiter said to me: Oh, thank you, I'll buy myself an ice cream for it. I was speechless. My friends too. We're really sorry, but never again. ://

Very tasty, authentic but modern Italian food! Great for dates or to treat yourself to something in between. We enjoyed all the dishes very much. Service was attentive. However, you have to take a little more change with you than at the Italian restaurant around the corner, but we will definitely come back.

I picked up my son from Chiemsee. Since we had one of our tastiest pizzas at Mozzamo near the Tiergarten two years ago, my son really wanted to take a little detour through Munich again. We were there about half an hour before opening, but we were still allowed to wait at the table inside. The very nice waitress even brought a bottle of water in advance. Our conclusion was similar to last time: One of the tastiest pizzas we've ever eaten 👍 The pizza maker even made pizza bread for our salad because the house bread wasn't ready yet. Top service and delicious pizzas

simply outrageous. I just ordered 2 meals from Mozzamo via Lieferando. However, the supplier only brought one dish. When I immediately called the restaurant I was told that the driver didn't want to take the 2nd pizza and I should have sent him back. My astonishment that the restaurant did not insist on delivery, since I had finally paid for the food and I was now insisting on immediate delivery, was acknowledged by the phone call being terminated. After that, no one was reachable anymore. simply outrageous. The restaurant made it onto my black list because I don't think the on-site service could be any better.

I received a letter of complaint from Google about my review below, which unfortunately I cannot understand and so I will simply quote my honest review again: Nice and relatively new Mozzamo Restaurant in Maxvorstadt. Cozy and casual atmosphere, but I just can't warm up to the Pizza Napoletana... Too much dough on the edge, wafer-thin in the middle, so that after cutting a piece the whole topping falls off. I'm more into the classic pizza, but I knew what to expect beforehand, so it's definitely worth a visit if you like Napoleonic pizza. Our highlight is the charming and friendly service

4 people where the food was served at different times (+/-10 minutes). The pasta was very small and the octopus was unfortunately hard and chewy like rubber. But service was very attentive and the restaurant is super nice.

No recommendation! We ordered Pizza Margherita Buffala. We got some kind of rancid cheese and green pesto that only tasted like garlic. The topping was a single colorful soup on the dough. Half was in the box next to the pizza. For €17 a piece you would expect a lot more!

Is that Cafe Altschwabing has been elegantly converted but I ate Vitello Tonato which was great

Arrogant and rude. Bad service. The wrong wine was brought, my dish came quickly, and the pizza for my husband arrived long after I had finished eating - but the wrong one. A few minutes later the supposedly correct one arrived, onto which they just added more ingredients. The second wine was not charged, but the errors were still handled in a totally arrogant manner. Best for last: I only rounded up a few cents to an even amount because we really weren't happy. I received all the change with the comment: “I don’t need that either.”

Pizza was perfect. Haven’t eaten a pizza this good ever. People were kind and the vibe was great.

In itself it is a nice restaurant with good food. However, there was one thing I didn't like at all. We were sat down at the table and asked directly whether we would prefer still or sparkling water. We didn't ask for the water! However, we were charged just under 8 euros for the 0.75 l bottle. I find it very disappointing and will therefore not come again. Ambience is great, food was good.

Unfortunately the prices are not justified, there is a lot of marketing in the pricing... Service was tried hard but super slow and unfortunately not attentive. When a friend was pouring wine, half of it was passed down the glass and onto her dress. The wine was not replaced afterwards, even if the waitress apologized taciturnly. When I grated the cheese later, the cheese went everywhere... The food was tasty, but didn't even come close to the price.

As a frequent pizza lover, I was initially skeptical about Google's pizza rating, but in the end I was very impressed by the taste. I would happily recommend and visit again!

Absolute recommendation. Beautiful ambience with a mix of classic walls and modern elements. Excellent service from both the boss himself and the friendly and competent waitresses. Food is excellent, good portion size and both pasta and pizza were a complete success. Beer was a bit foamy at first due to the new brew, but we were given a refill without asking and another one was brought on the house. :) We'd love to come back.

Being mozzamo we got a table outside this evening without a reservation despite the well-filled restaurants and outdoor areas. Although we had to come back 20 minutes after we were supposed to arrive, we were then allowed to sit at a table for two with an additional chair. The waiting time to take the order was a bit long, but it was quicker for the food to arrive (which was probably because we all had pizza). We really enjoyed the pizzas. We had a Valtelina, a piccante and a marinara with rocket (I ordered it as a vegan option, but it cost as much as a margherita + rocket, so €15). The dough was thin but crispy on the inside and fluffy and crispy on the edge but not dry. The tomato sauce was fruity and delicious so that even the simple marinara with the arugula tasted full without feeling like anything was missing. Our server (the boss?) was always friendly and tried to “satisfy” his guests. The ambience is exceptionally beautiful and elegant with a combination of old and new. The price isn't exactly cheap, but it's normal for Munich standards and you get something for your money. I will definitely come again. Thank you for this evening!

The Mpzzamo is a very nice, well-equipped restaurant with an interesting menu. For example, different types of mozzarella (affumicato, burrata, plait) are offered here with various side dishes. The bread served with it is first-class and can be supplemented with a few more slices upon request. The prices of the wines correspond to the local level in Schwabing, but are significantly better than many other restaurants. What really stands out is the very friendly and polite service. A highly recommended restaurant!

Delicious pizza and nice ambience

Excellent Neapolitan pizza in the heart of Maxvorstadt. MOZZAMO offers a large selection of Italian classics that impress in terms of taste and are authentic at the same time. The pizzas meet the Neapolitan standard and taste extremely fresh and the pasta dishes also look very good. The addition of the mozzarella bar also gives the classic Italian image a nice twist. Because the restaurant faces directly onto Schellingstrasse, it may be a little more uncomfortable if you sit outside. You have to plan for a lot of buses and a lot of traffic in general. All in all, a great Italian restaurant with nothing wrong with it!

Delicious pizza with nice staff. It's semi-comfortable to sit outside, the tables are on a slight slope, so everything is slightly at an angle - but it's not that bad. The food was good, but way too expensive for what you get.

Something went wrong. Despite a reserved table and a quick order, we waited almost an hour for our food. What bothered me was that there wasn't even an apology. I like it there, but not under the conditions. The food is really good.

A big compliment to the two service staff who, despite being understaffed, did a great job on Saturday evening and fulfilled every order and request promptly. The restaurant also offers a very nice ambience and a great outdoor area. The pizza and pasta were world class so we had a really successful evening at Mozzamo.

Recommended to me as the best Italian place in Munich by Italians. The service and the atmosphere is great. Pasta was al dente as expected, ragu sauce was delicious, carbonara was good but not the best. Wine list can be improved, but worth visiting again anyway.

I think I had the pizza procuto. The pizza was too watery and the crust was burnt but it was tasty.

Gewohnt sehr gute Qualität, wie im Mozzamo Thalkirchen. Portionsgrößen sind gut, geschmacklich war alles sehr gut. Freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter. Das Restaurant ist schön eingerichtet, allerdings stehen die Tische sehr nah aneinander. Preis-Leistung passt. Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen.

We were a large group (20 people) and had the back area to ourselves. Everything was absolutely perfect & everyone was happy. The staff is so nice and helpful and we had the perfect evening because of them. Everyone enjoyed the food and the wine was great. Always my pleasure.

It's a shame for the "Mozzamo". I recently visited this restaurant and unfortunately I have to say that the experience did not live up to my expectations. First of all, the tables are extremely small and way too close together, with barely four inches of space between them. This made the dining experience quite unpleasant and devoid of privacy. I also have to mention the behavior of the younger waitress. She seemed constantly annoyed and had a haughty attitude. I believe that if this is her attitude not only towards clients but also towards the work she does, she still has a long way to go.

I like this restaurant. Especially the salad and cheese bars are great. The ambiance is very nice and comfortable thanks to lighting and candles. The food is generally good quality.

Pizza was exceptionally tasty, through the open kitchen you could see the pizzas being prepared (exciting for children) but unfortunately a bit loud and restless as a result. I've been there twice and the pizza is impressive every time.

The pizza and our starters were very tasty! Unfortunately it was a bit very cold at the beginning and therefore rather uncomfortable to eat All in all, highly recommended. We'd love to come back.

Achtung !! Bloß nicht online reservieren: Kommt dir was dazwischen oder kommt ein Gast weniger, Zahlst du 35,-- EURO pro Person, da du deine Kreditkarten angeben musst. Außerdem musst du nach 1 1/2 Std spätestens das Lokal verlassen. Wir sind quasi durch den "Geschäftsführer" rausgeschmissen worden, mit der Begründung : Der Tisch muss am Abend minsdestens 3X besetzt werden. Bei der telefonischen Reservierung war davon keine Rede: Bedienung nicht kompetent - z.B. wird der Tisch erst nach Aufforderung abgeräumt. Und das alles auf einem sehr hohen Preisniveau. Das Essen war gut bis sehr gut, aber die Umstände bringen uns nicht wieder in das Lokal.

This is one of four Mozzamo restaurants. The food is ok, especially the pizzas are very good. I would order the pasta arrabiata spicy, as they are maximally spicy. I would definitely recommend reserving a table, especially if you want to come with more than two people and/or if you want a table on Friday/Saturday. The tables for two are either quite narrow or you sit opposite each other in the aisle where people are constantly walking past. I find the other Mozzamo restaurants more comfortable. The drinks and food came quickly and the waitress was very friendly and quick.

The food was definitely not recommended. The carbonara was very dry so we couldn't finish it. Unfortunately the same applies to the Bresaola pizza, which was clearly too oily. A pity! It was recommended but we were very disappointed. Definitely not a typical Italian restaurant.

Thursday evening in Maxvorstadt and looking for a table for eight people. Not an easy undertaking, as most of the restaurants are already full from 5 p.m. and people like to sit until the end of the day. We therefore inquired at MOZZAMO and were assured of a table for 8.30 p.m. We finally arrived a few minutes early and were confirmed that the table would be free shortly, so we could wait a little longer. The fact that the waiting time was quite long dampened the mood somewhat, especially since it was cool and we waited outside due to the size of the group. Finally the table was free and we could sit down. The manager present apologized several times for the inconvenience and generously compensated for the waiting time. The service staff also tried very hard and friendly to make the stay professional despite the somewhat bumpy start. The restaurant itself impresses visually with its four-meter-high ceilings, which end in impressive wooden paneling and are reminiscent of a ballroom of bygone times. Stylishly illuminated and discreetly decorated, the atmosphere is immediately cozy. The pizza oven and bar, which are dominantly placed in the middle of the restaurant, quickly make it clear that we are in the heart of Naples, where cuisine and hospitality are very important. What's a little less fitting are the lounge chairs that are too low, although comfortable, and which you can sit on if you couldn't get hold of one of the tables on the wall for a maximum of 4 people. It may be sufficient for a glass of wine, but unfortunately the table is too high for eating, even for tall guests. There is also no need for a stack of tablecloths in a corner; they could certainly be placed a little more inconspicuously and not in the guest room. The restroom also lacks professional signage. Landing in the kitchen as a guest with an urgent need is an experience that both parties are happy to forego. The menu itself is balanced and with a slight focus on fine dining. In addition to classic starters, there are also more exquisite dishes, such as a salmon tartare and various versions of burrata. The best way, at least that's what we found when looking at other tables and ours, is pizza. This is priced at the upper end of the spectrum and impresses with its exciting toppings. The weekly menu also includes pizza. The waiting time is, as is typical for wood-fired ovens, extremely short because the temperature is just right and the hungry guests can be appeased quickly. Visually I was completely impressed by the pizza, but unfortunately the taste and flavor was not optimal. That was easy to change thanks to the coarse salt on the table, but in this league it would be more appropriate if the taste experience came with the first bite and you as a guest didn't have to do it yourself, especially given the price. My pizza was also topped with endive, which sounds good, but turned out to be a disadvantage when I ate it, as the high water content of the salad watered down the pizza and further spoiled the overall picture. Looking around at the group of native Italians who were with me at MOZZAMO confirmed to me that it wasn't the best pizza they had ever eaten. Still very good for Germany, because the dough was excellent and you won't find a wood-fired oven in many parts of the country. All in all, the MOZZAMO in Maxvorstadt still convinced me, because the management handled the minor inconveniences, which are also discussed in other reviews, in a textbook manner and the short conversation with the manager also showed us that they put a lot of effort into the guests and it is not easy for the employees to adhere to the two hour meeting time per table (to allow for double occupancy each evening), thus reducing the dining experience. Would therefore visit MOZZAMO again.

Die Erfahrung im Restaurant war insgesamt enttäuschend. Als wir höflich nach Olivenöl fragten, wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass es nicht mehr an Kunden ausgegeben wird, da es zu teuer sei. Allerdings konnten wir sehen, dass ausreichend Olivenöl im Servicebereich vorhanden war. Diese Inkonsistent im Service hat unser Gesamterlebnis beeinträchtigt.

Het zit een beetje verstopt, maar je moet zeker even langs om een hapje italiaans te eten! De sfeer is fijn, ook heel mooi ingericht. De pizzaoven/keuken zit in het midden dus je kan leuk meekijken. De smaak was echt heerlijk en lekker italiaans! De mensen zijn aardig. Top.

Ich habe einen Tisch reserviert und wir wurden trotzdem nach 1,5 Std. und halb vollem Getränk rausgeschmissen. Das geht meiner Meinung nach gar nicht.

Ein sehr schöner Ort um gutes Essen und Wein zu genießen.Service war sehr zuvorkommend, Top Wein Empfehlungen. Essen hat super geschmeckt von der Vorspeise bis zum Nachtisch sehr zu empfehlen.

Köstliches Essen! Der Mozzarella ist hier einfach große Klasse, große Empfehlung! Und die Pizza ist sowieso der Hammer. Der Service braucht aber manchmal etwas länger, weswegen wir Geduld empfehlen. :)

Sehr schöne und leckere Pizza! Tolles Restaurant mit wunderschöner Einrichtung und sehr netter Bedienung. Es ist teuerer als eine „normale“ Pizzeria aber dafür bekommt man auch einen tollen Service inklusive schönen Ambiente geboten.

Leider diesmal nicht gut gelaufen. Pasta waren kalt. Zu wenig Personal, völlig überbucht, dementsprechend sehr laut. Mussten unseren Tisch nach ca.1,5 Stunden auf Nachdruck verlassen. Alles in allem: das aktuelle Servicepersonal war überfordert, das Personal wechselt übrigens leider ständig.

Essen (vor allem Calzone und Vegetarische Pizzen) absolut fantastisch, Frische Zutaten und netter Service

Eigentlich wollten wir nur etwas unkompliziertes essen. Unkompliziert war es wirklich, aber der freundliche Empfang wurde durch eine sehr freundliche Bedienung fortgesetzt. Zuvorkommend aber nicht aufdringlich unterstützte man meinen Weinwunsch, welcher durch einen Probeschluck sich bestätigte. Essen , alles sehr empfehlenswert zu einem absolut akzeptablen Preis. Wenn wir wieder einmal in München sind, gehört diese Restaurant definitiv zur festen Empfehlungsadresse. Die „ nur“ 4 Sterne für das Ambitionierte sind der etwas zu lauten Atmosphäre geschuldet. Das kompensiert die gute und nicht zu teure Weinempfehlung allemal.

One of the best Italian restaurant in the town! We ordered pizza and pasta. The pizza was very delicious. The bread is fluffy and chewy either flavour. The topping as you can see very generous and flavourful. The pasta we had penne and surprisingly even it was simple but blowing my mind. Very flavourful and the noodle was cooked perfectly al dente. You can combine the food perfectly with the wine. Very tasty and nice. The portion for pizza and pasta was quite big and will make you really full. The price was make sense and you can pay by card or cash. One point to highlight is the ambience with the building decorations very artsy. You feel like a roman. They have also pizza with stone oven in the middle so you can see how they make the food. The table was quite a lot and can be very full with queue. I recommend to reserve in advance. Regarding that, it means that you have also 2h time to keep your table for eating and chitchat. The service was overall okay but they have to remind us that we have only some time to keep the table before handed to other customers. In my case I ordered a glass of wine in the end they have to close the bill so I have to drink like a water. Could be an improvement. Overall I love the ambience and the dishes here. I would like to recommend to friends and family. And I will definitely come back to a romantic dinner here. Cheers! 🥂

I am sitting at the restaurant as I write this. The most German experience I have had in 10 years living here. The food is delicious, nothing to complain about but the service is the worst one I have ever experienced in Munich since 2014. They forgot a part of our appetizers and we were nice to not complain or be mad about it but after the dinner arrived (in parts, not at the same time for all of us), they literally brought us the menus to check if we wanted dessert or anything else, we ordered tiramisu and asked to wait a moment for drinks. They never brought the dessert nor asked which drinks we wanted. They sent a different waitress with the bill to ask how we wanted to pay. We complained that the dessert hadn't arrived and we wanted a drink and she said it wasn't possible bc other guests were waiting for a table. Like this our problem! They basically kicked us out, like our 200€ consumption wasn't enough to be kind to us, like we are despicable. Such a horrendous service. Definitely will never come back. I'm disgusted.

Mussten trotz Reservierung 15 Minuten auf unseren Platz warten. Uns wurde kein Getränk in diese Zeit angeboten, sondern wir standen mit anderen Leuten eng zusammen im Gang vor der Tür. Als wir dann endlich saßen, kamen die Vorspeisen nicht zusammen sondern nacheinander. Auf die Hauptspeise mussten wir über eine Stunde warten. Leider war der Service wirklich schlecht und überfordert. Das Essen war gut aber für den Preis nicht angemessen. Leider insgesamt keine wirklich positive Erfahrung.

It’s alright place. Waitress was nice and friendly. Pizza was ok. Tables were too close to each other. They don’t have olives somehow at an Italian place? It was 3-4 star place.

Wir waren gestern Abend da mit Reservierung und mussten knapp 30 min auf unseren Tisch warten, haben dafür eine Runde Aperol ausgegeben bekommen. Generell war das Essen ganz lecker, der Pizzarand war mir ein bisschen zu dick selbst für neapolitanische Pizza, die Trüffel hatten wenig Geschmack. Das Ambiente ist dafür umso schöner und unsere Bedienung war sehr bemüht um unser Wohlbefinden. Wenn man viel Zeit hat kann man es an einem Samstagabend durchaus wagen 😉

Super leckere Pizzen & mega nettes Personal! Einzig negativ aufgefallen sind die stumpfen Messer; aber wir haben einen Tipp bekommen: lasst Euch die Pizza in kleine Teile vorschneiden.

Good yet slightly pricy Italian. You can taste that they are using proper ingredients. Might wanna make a reservation on potentially crowded evenings.

Die Pizza im Mozzamo ist gut und eigentlich war der Service auch ganz nett. Leider gab's an dem Abend kein Fassbier mehr und dass um 19 Uhr, was etwas seltsam war. Es wurde auch kein Neues Fass angezapft. Essen und Getränke werden in einer Kücheninsel in der Mitte des Lokals zubereitet, was zum Teil sehr lärmig ist. Die hohen Decken verstärken den Lärmpegel noch. Wenn man sich also nicht anschreien möchte, vielleicht doch woanders treffen.

Wir hatten uns auf eine schöne Location mit gutem italienischen Essen gefreut, die Location war schön, im ehemaligen Café Altschwabing, die historische Innenausstattung wurde gekonnt mit neuen Elementen kombiniert, leider war das Essen, sehr enttäuschend. Die Pizza hatte einen extrem dicken Rand aus sehr klebrigen Teig. Als das bei einem ziemlich arroganten Ober bemängelt wurde, wurde man auf Pizza Neapolitana verwiesen . Damit hatte das Ganze nun wirklich gar nichts zu tun. Sehr schade, da wir zu viert sehr unzufrieden waren . Laura

Für einen besonderen Abend, Stuckdecke und Steampunk Flair in einem, dazu zuvorkommender Service und faire Preise. Wirklich top, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Molto Molto Bene. The pizza was pretty good, but I don’t think it was worth the hype or the price. The prices for everything were too high for what you got. The pizza had way too much dough. It felt like we ate a whole loaf of bread and 4 grown men struggled to finish their pizzas just because of the shear amount of dough involved. Was it good? Yeah, where there was sauce. Was it worth 15–20€ per pizza? No, I don’t think so. It also seemed ridiculous that the aperol spritz was €7.00 and the 0.75L water was more at €7.50 just because it was from Italy.

Beste Pizza die ich seit langem gegessen hab der Service war klasse so einen findet man heutzutage nur noch selten. Komme gerne wieder :)

Schön renoviertes historisches Ambiente, Service leider überfordert. Mozzarella Auswahl sehr zu empfehlen, Pizza nur ok. Alles in allem gibt es in der unmittelbaren Umgebung bessere Alternativen für eine gute Pizza.

Gute neapolitanische Pizza, haben je Pizza 14,50€ bezahlt. 15 Minuten nach dem Anruf konnten wir sie abholen. Beim Besuch im Mozzamo vor Ort hat die Türe zum WC sehr laut geschlagen beim zugehen. Hier kann man ggf. Abhilfe schaffen. Ansonsten sehr schönes Ambiente.

We really enjoyed each visit of Mozzamo until today. Even though it can be quite busy most of the times, the waiters and waitresses on the floor were highly professional and very friendly. The pizzas are great (especially their flagship Mozzamo) and the overall experience seemed to remain consistently fantastic. Also the dessert options with chocolate mousse and soufflé are a great combination. However, the restaurant might have changed staff since this time we asked if there was a table available on the upcoming day and the answer in return was just a rude „it’s a Friday what do you think?!“ Well, not only manners, but also simple politeness seem to be totally foreign to some in this corner of the world. It definitely left a bitter taste.

Focaccia und Pizza super Lecker, bei schönem Wetter draußen sitzen ist sehr angenehm. Service leicht überfordert, wenn viele Leute im Restaurant sind.

Essen TOP Service hat sich leider extrem verschlechtert

Es war alles andere als perfekt, die Kellnerin schien keinerlei Spaß an ihrem Job zu haben - zumindest empfanden wir sie einstimmig als äußerst unfreundlich, auch saßen wir direkt am Ausgang Richtung Toilette/Küche. Das hatte zur Folge, dass wir froren. Es zog nicht nur, wir waren am Ende des Abends einfach komplett durchgefroren. Das verhinderte, dass wir mehr Getränke oder Nachspeisen bestellt hätten - so entsteht ja keine gemütliche Atmosphäre! Die Pizzen waren gut, aber der Rest ließ zu wünschen übrig. Der Aperol zum Anstoßen hatte keinerlei Kohlensäure - zahlt man bei Ihnen als erste Abendgäste mit dem Prosecco des Vortages? Die Melanzane Parmigiana kam zuerst zu früh (also zwischen der bestellten Vorspeise und den Hauptgericht-Pizzen meiner Familie), dann kalt und wurde nach Reklamation nochmal deutlich später und als deutlich kleinere Portion neu gebracht!! Der außerdem bestellte Beilagensalat kam gar nicht. Vermutlich hätte man viele dieser kleinen Pannen durch zuvorkommenden freundlichen Service wettmachen können (auch wenn der Platz trotzdem eiskalt bleibt), Fehlanzeige. Schade, das Lokal spare ich mir künftig (und trauere dem Vorgänger-Restaurant nach).

Wir kennen das Mozzamo aus dem Münchner Stadtteil Thalkirchen, wo wir Stammgäste waren. Durch unseren Umzug probierten wir vor einigen Jahren den Ableger in Laim am Romanplatz. Zwischenzeitlich gibt es auch ein Restaurant in Pasing und das hier in der Maxvorstadt. Es gibt nach wie vor nur zwei Reservierungszeiten, 18 und 20 Uhr. Als ich kurz vor 18 Uhr ankam, standen knapp 10 Gäste draußen und warteten auf Einlaß. Diese wurden nach und nach von einer jungen Dame ins Innere gebeten. Als ich an der Reihe war, wurde mir ein zweier Tisch links vom Eingang angeboten. Ehrlich gesagt, eine Zumutung. Auf der einen Seite versperrte ein Vorhang den Durchgang, so dass ich nicht an die Fensterfront gelangen konnte. Auf der anderen Seite befand sich ein weiterer zweier Tisch, welcher bereits belegt war. Der Abstand zwischen den beiden Tischen betrug weniger als 15cm. So bat ich denn die anderen Gäste, mir Einlass zu gewähren. Als meine Freundin wenig später dazu kam, saß sie mit dem Rücken zur Bar, welche sich inmitten des Lokals befindet. Die Bedienung und andere Gäste touchierten permanent ihren Stuhl und somit die darüber hängende Jacke. Es war mehr als unangenehm. So fragten wir nach einem anderen Platz an der Bar. Dort gab es fünf Sitzmöglichkeiten, wovon zwei schon besetzt waren. Das war kein Problem. Wenig später war unser Tisch mit einem Pärchen neu besetzt. Wir hatten nun freien Blick auf den Pizzabäcker, welcher ruhig eine Bestellung nach der anderen abarbeitete. Zum Leidwesen meiner Freundin gab es keinen Aperol Spritz. Die Flasche, welche direkt vor uns stand, bot einen jämmerlichen Rest. Hat der Einkauf wohl nicht aufgepasst. So orderte sie einen Rosato Spritz, mit dem sie aber offensichtlich nicht so happy war. Sie trank bis nach dem Hauptgang an dem Glas. Ich hatte einen Franciacorta bestellt, den es nur in wenigen Lokalen in München gibt. Die Produktion dieses Getränkes ist ebenso aufwendig wie die eines Champagners, demzufolge auch Hochpreisig. In dem Falle 9 Euro pro 0,1 l. Als die Servicekraft das Glas vor mir abstellen wollte, ergänzte sie mit der Frage, Prosecco? Ich stutzte und fragte vorsichtshalber nochmal nach. Es soll korrekt gewesen sein, was sich auch bestätigte. Ich versuchte ein weiteres Mal von der Mozzarellabar die laktosefreie Variante zu bestellen, welche noch immer lt. Karte im Angebot ist. Auf der Website ist sie nicht mehr zu finden. Es gab sie tatsächlich auch nicht. Warum wird die Karte dann nicht neu produziert? So orderte ich Büffelmozzarella und Parmaschinken. Meine Freundin entschied sich für Vitello Tonnato (14,50 Euro). Als mein Teller serviert wurde, schluckte ich kurz verlegen. Die Portion war schon recht groß und stolzer Preis mit gesamt 20 Euro, davon 7,50 Euro für den Mozzarella, 12,50 Euro für den Schinken. Brot erhielten wir nur auf Nachfrage. Früher gab es in Thalkirchen immer einen kleinen Brotkorb sowie einen Gruß aus der Küche vorab. Ist nicht mehr. Meine Freundin berichtete, dass sie schon besseres Kalbfleisch gegessen hat. Die Kapern ignorierte sie und schob sie beiseite. Die Teller mit den Hauptspeisen wurden serviert, als die ersten Teller noch nicht abgeräumt waren. Die Teller wurden uns jeweils in die Hand gedrückt und dann erst die Vorspeisenteller abgeräumt. Wo gibt es denn so was? Scheinbar war der Service mächtig überfordert. Insgesamt auch nicht sehr aufmerksam. Meine Begleitung hatte sich aus der Wochenkarte den Thunfisch mit Sesam in Sashimi-Qualität dazu Ravioli mit Mangoldfüllung (28 Euro) ausgesucht. Sie war nicht begeistert. Die Nudelfüllung war wenig gewürzt und damit eher lasch. Der Thunfisch war unterschiedlich gebraten. Teils sehr roh im Inneren und am Rand durch gebraten. Meine Gnocchi Sardi waren hausgemacht und wurden mit Lammragout, Thymian und getrocknetem Ricotta gereicht (16,50 Euro). Ich hatte lang mit mir gerungen, was ich bestellen sollte. Letzten Endes eine Fehlentscheidung. Das Fleisch war sehr fettdurchzogen und zäh. Die Nudeln samt Soße nur Durchschnitt. Insgesamt ein nicht befriedigender Abend mit einem unterdurchschnittlichem Service in einem viel zu engem Lokal. Es gibt einen Nebenraum, der aber vermutlich bei voller Belegung auch sehr laut ist. Der Charme vom ersten Lokal findet sich hier leider nicht wieder und die Qualität hat bei den ambitionierten Preisen stark nach gelassen. Schade, wohl zu schnelles Wachstum.
