Taj Mahal - Best Indian Food in Hamburg

It is very nice restaurant close to Altona. The restaurant has a calming vibe because of its smooth music. I ordered chai and dal makhani. Both were delicious. If you visit during weekdays for lunch you might can take a thali which has vegetarian along with Non vegetarian options. The owner of the restaurant was very nice and kind.

I went for dinner and the food was amazing. I ordered the chicken tikka tandoori with Mangolassi as a drink. The chicken was cooked nicely and tender. The food was served warm and the Mangolassi was cool to the touch. I would definitely recommend eating here, especially dining in. The staff were also very friendly and nice.

Very good — and inexpensive — Indian cuisine, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. I live in the neighborhood and eat here often. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

We arrived quite late - just before closing time - but we were still warmly welcomed. In fact, we were the only guests due to the time, the boss served us wonderfully and we ate really deliciously. We will be back! Also a great address if you then attend an event in the Kulturkirche.

Very nice service and great authentic food. We ate curry according to the house style 👌🏻 really tasty. For starters we had Garlic Naan and Paneer. The next time we are in Hamburg we will come back 👍🏻

We visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening as a family (4 people, 1 toddler). Since it was still early, the restaurant was still empty. We received a very friendly welcome, didn't have to wait long for our food and we all really enjoyed it! Absolute recommendation from us 😊

Not so expensive, clean and hygenic place, friendly staff. However neighbourhood is not so attractive where the restaurant is.

I only ordered here, I can't comment on the food there. Delivery time was good. Unfortunately the samosas were quite dry. The makhani sauce was delicious, but the chicken in it had a strange (unpleasant) taste. Unfortunately, the Garlic Naan was also weak in taste, not particularly airy, not crispy at all and relatively chewy. It must be expressly stated that this could be due to the delivery. Well, I won't order here again, but maybe I'll give the restaurant another chance at some point.

Very good food, tasty and still inexpensive even after the VAT increase. All vegetarian dishes (and more) can be had as a lunch menu for €9.90, or a plate with three dishes, rice and bread for €10.90. I can warmly recommend it!

The food was very good, including the Bathura bread. It's not on the menu, but you can get it if you ask.

Wir waren zum Mittagstisch und das Essen war super lecker. Ganz toll fanden wir, dass man aus der gesamten Karte seinen Mittagstisch auswählen konnte. Wir wurden sehr aufmerksam und humorvoll bedient. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Wir waren zu viert essen und jedes der vier Essen war toll. Die Bedienung war aufmerksam und zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Ein absoluter Tipp.

I ordered food with Uber eat at Taj Mahal Schanze ... Garlic nan was good . Chicken Tikka Tandoori portion was very good , but the chicken was undercooked . tase was average.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Mitarbeiter waren auch sehr nett und es wurde auch gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist und uns das Essen schmeckt/geschmeckt hat. Wir waren mehr als zufrieden und kommen bestimmt wieder.🩵👍🏼

Food is not at all authentic Indian. I tried taj mahal vegetarian and it’s something different. I would suggest hotel owners to improve the taste of food by using actual Indian spices.

Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Das Essen war auch lecker, ich hatte das Lamm. Wir waren an einem Samstag Abend da und es war nicht viel los, für mich unverständlich, weil es echt lecker war.

Won’t order here again. The sides were good, but the main dish was not. We ordered Chicken Makhani and it was super watery and tasted like tomato soup. It was just missing all the spices you would expect from the dish. The naan and samosas were great, but that doesn’t make up for the poor quality of the main dish.
