We wanted to drink two teas, but were turned away because they don't make enough money from them. That's unacceptable.

Extremely unfriendly treatment of guests! Almost disrespectful. I used to go there almost every day, but that's over now.

Unfortunately, a complete disaster. The shop is far too crowded and very dirty! We actually just wanted to have a quiet cup of tea, but were rudely told that we weren't allowed to have just one cup of tea and were forced to eat something. After the discussion, we drank a cup of tea that tasted like it had been sitting for hours. The shop is noisy.

The lahmacun, lentil soup, and flatbread are excellent. Delicious and reasonably priced, too. We always enjoy going there.

Tea was brought to the table, and I drank it. I don't know if it was because I drank it with the soup or if it was all the time, but the tea was charged 2€. I said I'd pay by card, but the cashier frowned. I wouldn't recommend it.

You can simply rely on it. If you're hungry at night and don't know where to go, you can come here and be greeted by friendly staff and super delicious food at a reasonable price. An important part of Venloer Straße❤️

It's dirty, no one comes up to you and asks what you want, and the table hasn't been cleaned either. It's unacceptable that employees look at someone and then, after 20 minutes, no one comes and speaks to you.

I love this restaurant/café. It's authentic, affordable, and simply delicious. You can pay with your debit card starting at €5. We had a delicious lentil soup (€4.50) and a pide with cheese (€3). Everything was delicious, and the staff was friendly. :)

I often eat kunefe with black tea here. The place serves its purpose as a café where you can drink tea and enjoy something sweet. However, with German-speaking service and regularly cleaned tables, the place could offer a lot more. Unfortunately, the ambiance seems a bit chaotic, and the tables are often dirty and only cleaned upon request. It's a shame, because the place is actually very busy! 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Still, because the food tastes good.

A solid Turkish bakery with hot dishes. Unfortunately, the quality of the baked goods varies from day to day.

Unfortunately, this time the disappointment was great. Ordered rice and beans as the daily special. Turkish pizza with salad. Lentil soup. Baklava. For three people each. Unfortunately, the rice and beans were not tasty at all, as was the Turkish pizza. I left half of the beans and rice. Then I ordered 500 grams of mixed baklava, which was also a bitter disappointment. Paid a total of almost 40 euros. Dear Damak, I don't mean any harm, but the chef desperately needs training....the food today was a complete disappointment and not worth the price.

It's not the same as before, the service is zero. When you object, they say that's what they're doing, as if they're making fun of you. I'll never go there again, but when I go, I won't ask why you went, that's my own opinion.

My wife and I ordered Lahmacun yesterday. The food was pure horror. Brought to the table warmed up in the microwave. WHAT IS THAT?? Lahmacun are usually crispy and hot. Yesterday soggy and lukewarm. Afterwards the owner pointed this out but no one was embarrassed to find stupid excuses. The service was a male person who was extremely unfriendly. My conclusion about the store is clear --NO-- I won't leave my money there.

Legendary lentil soup. Amazing! It's the most delicious lentil soup I had in my life. Guaranteed and long-lasting quality. Keeps being good for the last five years, I tried it.

I eat Mercimek here all the time because it's so cheap and delicious. I often also take a flatbread with me. Baklava and sweet pastries also look very good here, although I haven't tried them yet.

A dinamic turkish alike Restaurant with different meal menus and soups. They have a 'dish of the day' offer, wich 3-4 options for lunch or supper, that usually includes lamb or calf meat. They also have vegetarian options like the popular lentice soup. A wild selection of sweets and different types of Baclava. You order, then seat, and the food is within 3 minutes at your table. They have mastered the serving game, and with very less comunication you get your dish at any table. For me, is a 'Must-Stop' whenever i'm running chores in Ehrenfeld wich is not my daily area.

I often get a daily special here and the price is really good. The dishes are also very tasty in terms of taste. I can highly recommend!

We asked for soup, they gave us water, we said what is this, they said get up and go.

Very dirty shop staff, almost all unfriendly. Never go to this store again, the food doesn't match the price and doesn't taste like food at all but something else The owner can do something else in these shops other than catering.

I don't get noticed by the waitress, no one comes out every time. I've been sitting here for 10 minutes. I've already smoked 2 cigarettes. Should I smoke the whole pack or something familiar?

It's not comfortable. Loud but warm on the weekend. The windows and doors are constantly open and the white light also makes it uncomfortable. More like a snack bar although it has a lot to offer when it comes to food. Food is fresh and tasty and healthy. Lahmajun fresh for €2.50 is great. But sitting comfortably and enjoying like a restaurant is not always the case.

Baklava unfortunately bad. Worst meal I've eaten here in my life. Only €5 here instead of €8 elsewhere, but not a recommendation. It's better to pay a little more, the difference is huge.

The only memory I have from coming to Germany that I never want to remember is the 27 minutes I spent in this shop. The food was incredibly poor quality and tasteless, something called lahmacun came to our table, thanks to which we were offended by the lahmacun. Do not consume onion and tomato pieces randomly spilled on a runny dough. The soup we said tasted good, but it was cold, we couldn't drink it. After passing the soup section, we realized that there is only one ladle for 5 types of soup. The man puts the tripe soup and the lentils with the same ladle, and you have a mixed soup. The only thing I can say good about the place was the ayran. If you like to drink ayran, you can go and drink it well. I would never, ever recommend you to go to this place because it is open late at night. It is a much more logical option to stay hungry, or I recommend you to eat empty bread with ayran.

We ate soup and lahmacun at night. The soup wasn't bad, but the lahmacun stuff was so bad that I couldn't eat it because I was afraid I would be poisoned. Afterwards we asked for tea, it was sour in a way we did not understand. We wanted to pay separately but there was a problem at the cash register. They tried. We regretted what we ate.

I called because I was sold two old sesame rings. They were courteous on the phone and told me if you were around the corner you could come by and get two new fresh sesame rings. However, since I live almost 10 kilometers away, I let them know that I would come the following day, which was accepted. Well the next day I showed up, the shop wasn't particularly full, but there was something to do and I was met with the following words: "Are you sure you bought two "old" sesame rings from us?" The look was not at all neutral, but rather as if one wanted to assume something about them. Well my conclusion is that neither I nor I will come to you and I will no longer send other people to you asking me where you can get fresh baked goods, since it hasn't happened for the first time (you just thought this time I give strength to my voice) Ps. I bought flatbread three times 🫓 and two sesame rings. The bread is great, there's nothing wrong with it, but what's the point if you want to make a nice complaint and are treated so badly that you don't get much attention. One of two sesame rings was brought back and the other, because it had already crumbled, was thrown into the trash (which I generally find a shame when it comes to food) and when I showed one sesame ring the gentleman said '" they said on the phone something from two pieces and here I only see one!” then almost threw a euro on the counter at the speed at which it happened, simply inhumane. If it ever happens to you, just don't throw it in the trash, otherwise you'll get something like that thrown at you like I did. Simply outrageous.

Very tasty mocha and good pastries. The road there isn't that busy either. So it's relatively "quiet" for such an environment. You can easily sit outside in front of it. Since I was there in the morning, unfortunately I can't rate any real food. But what I got was very good. The price is also optimal.

What a lentil soup! The best I've ever eaten. With lemon and bread. Plus the homemade Ayran. Tadim Damak really has it. A Cologne cultural hotspot. Everyone here goes for gin. I was here for the first time and I'm thrilled.

I think there is outstanding lentil soup and extremely good lahmacun here! The prices are great too. It's not the coziest shop to sit in but it has the right vibe.

You can draw attention to self-service with signs and information. But that doesn't exist here. But when you come there as a group of girls, things look different. I wonder why. Totally unfriendly young guys there. You don't get a menu. No indication of self-service. As a long-time customer, I have seen a lot of staff there, but the current staff is the last one. The store is ruining its reputation. Arabic music playing way too loudly, “waiters” chatting away, and zero friendliness. It's a shame, but after so many years, Damak is over for me. Looks like a restaurant, but it's anything but. The soups used to be excellent, but they aren't anymore. I tried to speak to the boss, but the waiters didn't want to show them. I really enjoy eating baklava and künüfe. Usually always at Damla from Venlor Str.. At Damla everything tastes fantastic. But I warn you about this shop. Turkish pizza labeled and disgusting with strange salad that only has syrup on it. What's worse is the fact that the top is completely soft without any liquid. As if it had just been thawed. There isn't a single Turk working in the shop and none of the guests are Turks either. That should have been a warning to me. So we ordered three things and didn't touch any of them. Just disgusting and the people who work there barely understand a word and are unfriendly. I haven't been so disappointed in a long time. So really stay away from the store. The money would be better off in the trash can. By the way, the tea doesn't taste good either...

By far the best lentil soup (vegan) I have eaten! It's super quick and you get a lot of bread with it. I recommend everyone to eat here :) baklava is also very tasty here!

She just wanted to grab something to eat and ended up in this restaurant. We ate really, really great! It was super tasty and so different from the other Turkish restaurants we've had the pleasure of getting to know so far. The staff were very accommodating and the price was completely reasonable.
