Syrtaki in Berlin

What a fantastic Greek restaurant! For me, the best in Berlin. Sure, I haven't been to every Greek restaurant in Berlin, but of the ones I have been to—and there have been quite a few—Karlshorst is now my absolute favorite. What amazing, fresh, and perfectly portioned food! There were 12 of us, and we ordered 12 different dishes, and every single one was absolutely brilliant.

I've realized once again that I always order the same thing at Greek restaurants. How boring! Garlic bread, grilled peppers with garlic, and gyros in Metaxa sauce. The service and food were highly recommended. Unfortunately, I had to pass on the ouzo because I was driving someone else :-(

The gyros was delicious; we were all very impressed. It's a shame there isn't a Greek restaurant just around the corner from us in Kladow. We'll definitely be back again.

A truly wonderful restaurant; we've been going there for over 15 years. The staff is very friendly, the wait times are short, and the food is fantastic. Our son is always greeted by name, and we receive such a warm welcome, as if we were visiting friends. In the summer, you can sit in the shady garden.

Syrtaki is a truly lovely Greek restaurant, especially appealing during the summer months with its two terraces. Although the team is entirely new (the previous staff is sadly no longer there), you receive a very warm welcome. The service is attentive and friendly, making you feel right at home. The portions are generous and leave little to be desired. A salad is served before every meat main course. A particularly nice touch: a complimentary ouzo is offered both upon arrival and after the meal – a small but very pleasant touch that completes the experience and is a nice traditional extra. The restaurant gets quite busy, especially on weekends. Therefore, making a reservation in advance is highly recommended to ensure a relaxed and uninterrupted table. During peak hours, the interior can get quite lively, but this only adds to the vibrant atmosphere of a popular Greek restaurant. Overall, Syrtaki offers a pleasant ambiance, a wide variety of dishes, and very friendly service – ideal for a relaxed evening with friends or family, especially on warm summer evenings on the terrace.

Kudos to the friendly waiter who unconditionally catered to our wishes and ensured our museum visit was a success. The food was also absolutely delicious!

A friendly welcome, great, courteous, but not intrusive service. Good, understandable menu, reasonable prices. The food is a dream, both the starter (salad was nice and fresh), the garlic bread, which truly deserves its name (!), and the Athenian plate—wow, the meat was wonderfully tender and cooked through, and the garlic potatoes were also cooked through perfectly. I'm thrilled. 👍🏻 And finally, both cash and debit card payments are accepted. 👍🏻

Big disappointment! We ordered lamb and eggplant salad on Easter Day! The quality of the product and preparation is stale! The meat was dry, and basically there were dried bones and skin. I tried it a little, couldn’t eat it, and neither did the eggplants, it was more dough than vegetables and completely tasteless. I only give a star to the staff, but the food is “0” and for that I paid more than 85 euros for everything in the photo

Yes and no. I was there with my wife and daughter. My wife's mousaka was really bad. Didn't taste good at all. We communicated that too. The reaction was that it was a vegetarian mousaka, then it wasn't and finally we went back to business as usual. The rest of the food was very tasty.

Well, I'm not exactly sure how to start... Maybe so, I've been visiting the restaurant since 2021. The operator at the time was the best in all areas, whether service, price-performance ratio, taste and variety and and and... especially the starter plate!!!!!!!!!!!! The owner/operator then raised the prices a lot and at the same time reduced the portion size and unfortunately the dishes were too garlicky that you even got a tummy ache afterwards. The garlic potatoes are a no go!!! According to the motto, cover up the unsatisfactory taste. For me, the current operator has an attentive, good staff, good dishes, but very small portions. A small bowl of tzatziki with the meal is just ridiculous... For me it's quite clear that you're making great use of your unique selling point, like the Pizzeria UNO (more like it is) and other restaurants in Karlshorst!!! Except the Bohemian Garden and Al Dente. Unfortunately, the steak house has also deteriorated in terms of prices, but not staff, service and, unfortunately, some of the taste. The Wernes Grüner is laughable in terms of prices, service and quality of the food. As I found out, I only warmed up bagged stuff and dishes from the bag, not prepared myself like I used to, unfortunately... Not to mention the prices and the waiting time..... The penultimate time I was there was about two years ago and compared to the last time (on December 28th, 2024) it has really gotten worse. For example, the gyro tastes completely dry, as if it was kept warm all evening and whoever orders it gets some. The service wasn't very nice, a bit overwhelmed I would say, and the whole atmosphere had something of a mass-processing feel to it. The prices don't do the food justice. In any case, I won't eat there again.

Nope. Honestly, there aren't too many options in Karlshorst - and this restaurant isn't one either. The service: It was strange because it felt a bit like surveillance. My husband and I couldn't really have a conversation without being disturbed. To eat: carelessly prepared, greasy and the dishes don't have a good consistency. I think the Metaxa sauce was missing Metaxa... And otherwise it was cream (?). The food you ordered was delivered as soon as you sat down (most of the time it can't be seen as fresh). Spices were probably in short supply... In summary: the shop seemed like a check-in and there was a relaxed atmosphere where you can take your make-up off. It's not worth the money, regardless of the upset stomach :S You need to know :/

I was in this restaurant for the first time today and I absolutely cannot recommend it. The food tastes very neutral, to put it positively, and is definitely not fresh. After 10-15 minutes both the starter and the main course were there. It wasn't really well prepared either. It all seems a bit loveless. I ate there yesterday October 19, 24. I ordered a starter and a main course. Where should I put the two plates? The waiter didn't care. It tasted very burnt. I can't judge Octopus that way, but I'll try it again somewhere else. It was very tough and hopefully cooked through. The gyro was extremely burnt on the outside and still raw on the inside. Meat had had no taste at all. There are always cellars passing by the table and not asking if you want something to drink or if you can take the appetizer plate with you. Like at the snack bar. I could have eaten herb quark with the tzatziki, but that was absolutely nothing. The restaurant was very dark so the ambience was not great. If the excuse comes up that it was very full, which it was, then you have to hire more waiters. Then the door was left open and they smoked outside the door and dragged everyone into the restaurant. It wasn't very appetizing. Never again, it used to be better, today it's just a clearance.

Yesterday we just wanted to have a nice, stress-free evening with good conversations. Unfortunately nothing came of it. There was some student party going on in the restaurant. Unfortunately, they were so loud that you could hardly understand your own words. You literally had to shout at each other. Unfortunately, no consideration was given to the many other guests men. Otherwise the food was delicious. The bread and pepperoni were especially great. I found the gyros a bit mixed - it's not for me. If it had been less loud and hectic, it would definitely have been a nice evening...

We were looking forward to a lovely evening with Greek food. My wife and I love Greek cuisine. We had ordered food 108; Gyros gratinated with Edam and Metaxa sauce, served with a side salad. After a while the main course arrived, but without salad, which we had to point out. The baked one was quite black, not to say burnt. The gyro was a major disaster. Lumpy, tough and with flexes and veins, old dark meat, that's how it seemed to me. No stripes as I know it but bulbous and lumpy. I had never seen anything like it and neither had my wife. We were very disappointed. When clearing away the waiter didn't care about our answer as to why it wasn't good. I had fond memories of Syrtaki, but now I just dread it and we won't eat there anymore. I definitely can't recommend gyros at this Syrtaki. It was a disaster. And then paid so dearly for bad food. No thanks, we'd rather go somewhere else!

Unfortunately, this Greek place is no longer recommended...we went there again after a year! But we could have saved ourselves that, processing like in a snack bar.....the pre-made salad was on the table as soon as we ordered....the food arrived as soon as it was finished, not tasty! Liver and meat creamy and toe. ...garlic potatoes dripping with fat...! That's it, we'll never eat there again!

Another good restaurant less in Karlshorst, because both the food and service have deteriorated extremely. It took less than 10 minutes from the time we ordered our seven dishes until the food came to the table, which is often not a good sign. Unfortunately, the impression was quickly confirmed. Everything didn't seem fresh, but warmed up, was carelessly prepared and dry. The Metaxa sauce was probably missing and the lamb resembled the sole of a shoe. The service also makes you feel like you're being handled rather than being served in a friendly manner. The clean toilets and drinks are positive. It's a shame, we enjoyed going there regularly over the last 12 years. No longer an option now.

Had dinner at Syrtaki today. The service was good overall. After we received the drinks, the food was ordered. 1. 2x gyros with Metaxa sauce and Edam gratinated including fries, 2. 2x gyros spicy with fries and 3. 1x gyros with rice noodles. Overall you can say that it has nothing to do with gyros. The meat was sometimes more than seared, tough and completely mixed with whatever. It had nothing to do with Metaxa Sauce. More of a cream sauce Plempe with onions, but without metaxa! I also doubt whether it was Edam. The gyros plates (51+52) each had at least half a raw, sliced ​​vegetable onion. Who would eat something like that? The fries in all dishes were sticky and not through, including a hint of schnitzel. I don't even want to rate the salad plate that everyone gets, because I can't think of anything to say. 1 slice of cucumber, 1 slice of tomato, 1 salty pepperoni and the rest is old iceberg with thousand island dressing. It's a shame that a previously good Greek restaurant can become so run down. That's nothing anymore. Go somewhere else.
