The food and ambiance were good. The restroom was dirty, though, and it needed to be cleaned as soon as possible.

Das Lokal ist ein echter Geheimtipp! Ich hatte eine Überraschungs Sushi Platte bestellt. Sie war total schön hergerichtet mit vielen Sorten Sushi. Das Sushi ist außergewöhnlich frisch und sehr lecker. Bedient wurden wir von der Chefin persönlich, sie hat uns ein bisschen über das Lokal berichtet, dass es noch sehr neu ist und noch nicht so bekannt. Deswegen schreibe ich gerne ein Bewertung und hoffe, dass viele es ausprobieren. Preislich liegt es wie alle Sushi Restaurant, also nicht ganz billig, aber auch nicht überteuert. Wer kein Sushi mag findet auch genügend Auswahl auf der Karte. Mein Mann hatte Ente mit Gemüse und Mangosauce gegessen und war ebenfalls begeistert. Kais Vorspeisenplatte ist übrigens auch sehr zu empfehlen, die kann man gerne zu zweit als Vorspeise essen, es war reichlich und eine leckere Auswahl. Ich kann das Lokal nur weiterempfehlen! Das Restaurant heißt jetzt übrignes Kai's Restaurant, nach dem Sohn der Chefin benannt, wie Sie uns auch erzählt hat.

Amazing Japanese food, good service, pleasant atmosphere! The way they serve is a lot fancier than in Japan, taste being as a comparable high level and prices are affordable. So quite impressive!

The sushi was really excellent – ​​fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. We were particularly impressed by the Rolls. The edamame were okay, but could have used a little more salt. The atmosphere is very stylish and inviting, you immediately feel at home. The prices are a little higher, but given the quality and the beautiful ambience, they are absolutely reasonable. I ordered the mixed starters’ plate and the surprise sushi selection and I fully recommend this place! Delicious food and very well presented! Moreover the staff was super friendly and the ambiance really cozy. I’ll come back for sure! :-)

very disappointing experience. Different Menu elements than what marketed in the website. for exemple, 2 yakitori instead of 3, more expensive at the restaurant than in the website. The carte is manually corrected. Papaya salat false advertised, omit to inform that the simple papaya salat is the same price as the chicken papaya but made us pay the chicken papaya.

On February 14th We reserved a table at the KAI Sushi Bar & Restaurant at 7:30 p.m. Since we knew there would be a lot going on on Valentine's Day, we were there shortly after 7 p.m. Still, we had to wait over 45 minutes before getting to our table. The starter only came after a long wait. What was even more annoying was that we had to wait over an hour for our drinks. We then waited another 1.5 hours for our main course, which ultimately wasn't served at all. Meanwhile, the service staff seemed visibly overwhelmed. Although guests continued to be seated, they were not informed about the considerable waiting times. When we asked how long it would take, the only answer we got was: “I don’t know, we’re doing our best.” After waiting for hours, we left the restaurant around 10:45 p.m. without receiving our food. This experience was a disappointment across the board. Such behavior is unprofessional and disrespectful. For this reason we will never visit the restaurant again!!

This wasn't how we envisioned our Valentine's Day. We had reservations for 8pm and got our food at 11pm! We had booked cinema tickets for 10:40 p.m. and so unfortunately we missed the film... We've never experienced anything like that. How can something like this happen? The waiters didn't manage to bring two cokes in one hour! If my husband hadn't said anything, we would have been without drinks for those 3 hours. There were only two waiters with such a crowd. At the door they didn't even ask what name you had reserved for! The whole organization was a complete disaster!!! We ordered a Tokyo platter. Normally this is beautifully decorated but in our case it was simply slapped onto the plate. All the sushi rice was stuck together! All the guests sitting next to us had no food! Each of them waited 2-3 hours for their food!!!

The food was delicious and the price-performance ratio was really good. The ambience with the hanging flowers on the ceiling is attractive and cozy. However, we had to wait over 1.5 hours for our sushi, which we didn't like at all. There was a free bottle of water as compensation, but the long waiting time spoiled the overall impression. 3 stars!

We had a great and very pleasant evening, with really delicious sushi. Our orders were incredibly well presented and the taste couldn't be beat! Since the answer “feelings of hunger are always individual” came to my colleague’s review, here is my review again. In terms of taste it was absolutely nothing special, for €15 and MUCH more of it it would have been okay. However, it cost €19. And my partner's Yaki Udon was served with wild herb salad. That was 50 grams of completely undressed Rewe salad from the bag. Our Amazon (it was vegetarian, but the ingredients description said it had beef) was a portion that I have never seen before. Felt like a bank account robbery. We also had spring rolls, which were absolutely average. 25€ per person. Afterwards we ordered a pizza. Attached you will find the portion WITHOUT eating it. Most of it was still bagged salad. There was a bit of pasta downstairs.

Main course for just under 20 euros, the portion was terribly small and definitely didn't fill me up! The “wild herb salad” was a handful of lettuce leaves, without dressing or anything else. Never again, value for money non-existent.

Ordered via Lieferando, the driver brought the wrong food. I went to the restaurant and got the correct order straight away without any complaints - and 20 minutes before closing time! Great staff and very good food!

The ownership changed a month ago and I had never been here before. But I'll definitely come back again because everything was really good. Delicious Lots of vegan options (including vegetarian ones) There are a few places on an elevated outdoor area where you can sit particularly nicely and in the shade. The waitresses are very friendly. You can pay by card. Cost for my group was around 35 euros per head.

After the change of ownership, the service has deteriorated somewhat. The cola came warm, the water was non-carbonated instead of carbonated… enough with the German complaining 😀 The sushi still tastes great 👌🏻

Strange visit to Sumi today. Neither food nor drinks came and it took over 60 minutes. In the end we were charged incorrect prices, namely 1 euro more for each individual part of the order (drinks, food, etc.) than stated on the menu.

Unfortunately we waited 1.5 hours for the food and the avocado in the sushi was still very unripe and hard. Very unfortunate..

Beautiful dishes are offered for lunch. But of course a delicious seaweed salad with flamed salmon or tuna goes wonderfully in between. The cocktails, especially the “Pink Dragon”, are top notch.

We had to wait over an hour for our food even though the restaurant wasn't full. And that is ALWAYS the case. I ate at Sumi a total of 4 times, hoping that things would settle down at some point, but nothing has changed so far. The food was good, but unfortunately nothing special. There are better sushi restaurants in Mannheim (in terms of taste and quality) that hardly differ in price from Sumi. Very unfortunate. The waiters, on the other hand, are very personable and friendly.

The main thing here is sushi, many of which are vegetarian. The dishes are often decorated with dry ice mist.

The sushi is probably good, but unfortunately I couldn't taste it because the sushi is completely soaked in a sweet sauce that has no place on sushi for me. The sauce isn't on the menu and it's EVERYWHERE on the sushi.
