Where have the former operators gone?! Unfortunately, things are no longer what they used to be. Unfortunately the quality has become much worse. The friendly service is no longer there either! It's a shame, the restaurant has been removed from our list! 😩

Delicious Lots of vegan options (including vegetarian ones) There are a few places on an elevated outdoor area where you can sit particularly nicely and in the shade. The waitresses are very friendly. You can pay by card. Cost for my group was around 35 euros per head.

After the change of ownership, the service has deteriorated somewhat. The cola came warm, the water was non-carbonated instead of carbonated… enough with the German complaining 😀 The sushi still tastes great 👌🏻

Strange visit to Sumi today. Neither food nor drinks came and it took over 60 minutes. In the end we were charged incorrect prices, namely 1 euro more for each individual part of the order (drinks, food, etc.) than stated on the menu.

Unfortunately we waited 1.5 hours for the food and the avocado in the sushi was still very unripe and hard. Very unfortunate..

Beautiful dishes are offered for lunch. But of course a delicious seaweed salad with flamed salmon or tuna goes wonderfully in between. The cocktails, especially the “Pink Dragon”, are top notch.

Delicious starters and very tasty sushi, nice and friendly service and also really fair prices for the good quality. Highly recommended, gladly again.

We had to wait over an hour for our food even though the restaurant wasn't full. And that is ALWAYS the case. I ate at Sumi a total of 4 times, hoping that things would settle down at some point, but nothing has changed so far. The food was good, but unfortunately nothing special. There are better sushi restaurants in Mannheim (in terms of taste and quality) that hardly differ in price from Sumi. Very unfortunate. The waiters, on the other hand, are very personable and friendly.

The main thing here is sushi, many of which are vegetarian. The dishes are often decorated with dry ice mist.

I had dinner with my family the day before yesterday and we made a reservation in advance and also let them know that it was my granddaughter's birthday, the food was great, the service was very attentive and it was also a great surprise after the main course, Ariigatoo Sumi for the great experience

The sushi is probably good, but unfortunately I couldn't taste it because the sushi is completely soaked in a sweet sauce that has no place on sushi for me. The sauce isn't on the menu and it's EVERYWHERE on the sushi. Unfortunately very disappointing and hides the taste in an unpleasant way, which is a shame 😞 Addendum: I was offered another delivery without sauce. It was too late and I was already full, but the gesture counts! 👍

Never again. And it's also crazy that reviews that have less than 4 stars are simply deleted. This makes your overall average rating completely meaningless. Above all, I would have given you a second chance to improve my impression and of course I would have changed my review if the second impression had been better, but anyone who resorts to such means to deprive their guests of their freedom of expression should not be surprised if you don't come anymore.

We visited you on June 25, 2020. Tasteless food, poor service, high prices. And the worst thing is that instead of improving the dishes, the restaurant threatens visitors with a bad review. I received a letter from a lawyer via Google asking me to prove that I was at the restaurant. Yes, I was, but never again.

My wife and I were guests at Sumi on March 18, 2023, and I had already written a review back then. We were both very disappointed with the quality of the food, unfortunately the "crispy" duck wasn't crispy at all, the service was also very inattentive. The service staff did not respond to my complaint that the food was not tasty. Today (04/29/2024) I received a message from Google in which the restaurant's lawyer asked me to provide evidence that I was actually a guest at Sumi, further insinuating that I was a "competitor" or " "unfavorable person" who wants to harm the restaurant. Both is not the case! However, I then deleted my original review. In order to prevent a new request for deletion, I would like to point out that I have a bank statement showing the payment to SuMi. So the customer relationship that the restaurant had questioned definitely existed. I think it's a shame that legitimate criticism is not addressed and instead, with the help of a lawyer, an attempt is made to have bad reviews deleted.

We ate very well there. Every dish was delicious, especially the sushi. The price was okay for the location. The service was very attentive and friendly, really good!!!

You can almost always get a table here without a reservation, even on weekends. My absolute highlight was the Pho 😍 and the shrimp dumplings as a starter were very tasty. The green tea cocktail and the homemade lemonade/iced tea are also highly recommended

Super good food, top service, top drinks, would love to come back

Were there for the second time today. Like the first time, the lack of cleanliness was immediately noticeable. Went there today (Saturday) afternoon around 4 p.m., before the hustle and bustle in the evening. The floor full of crumbs and stained. As on the last visit, there were a noticeable number of flies. A strange smell, a bit reminiscent of old aunts' bad breath, throughout the restaurant (they were completely done once and the smell didn't change). If you simply wiped the floor and then ventilated it briefly, a lot would have been achieved, although there would be more in the details. So maybe the prices could be justified somewhere. Food is okay so far, that's why 3 and not one star.

Waited 2.5 hours for the food, despite asking, no further information was given as to when the food would arrive and what the problem was. This also happened to other people in the restaurant. Really bad service in that regard.

We've been there a few times now, especially during the lunch break. The lunch dishes are delicious and inexpensive. The sushi is average. Unfortunately it's not particularly clean, which is also the reason we didn't come. Unfortunately, the layer of dust on the window sills in the back area was not cleaned even after the staff brought it to their attention.

Ambience very nice. Sushi was okay, service was very friendly. Star deduction due to the waiting time. The waiting time was way too long, 90 minutes waiting time for drinks & appetizers. Sushi waiting time 2 hours.

No space despite reservation. When asked, a simple “bad luck”. While we were still standing outside to think about what to do next, a couple went in and were led to a seat. When we asked critically, there was suddenly a place. We had to wait almost 2 hours for the food, but it was extremely good sushi and the repeated apologies for the wait suggest that that didn't actually happen and that something simply went wrong that evening.

The sushi tasted okay, but nothing special. The waiting time for drinks and appetizers alone was 1 1/2 hours, and 2 hours for the sushi. One starter was cold. Upon request, service kindly exchanged it and apologized. The crispy rolls were only lukewarm, the rest was fine. The separate plates for eating sushi were only brought after we were almost finished. The ambience is the only thing that scored points. -Very cozy and chic interior.

Good variety of vegetarian dishes- especially vegan sushi. Lemonades are also very nice.

I was there today with my girlfriend (“Deo😂”) and we would love to come back. Sushi and drinks were really tasty, the food came quickly, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the restaurant is really nicely decorated :)

The food was delicious, the edamame for the starter was, as always, very good, the crunchy rolls were nice and firm to the bite and tasted very harmonious with the two sauces. The other rolls we had on the platters were also very tasty. According to her, my friend's vegetarian sushi and soup were also very good. The drinks (Pink Dragon and Magic Winter) were very good. The service staff were a bit overwhelmed, we were given the wrong plate once, the sake was unfortunately brought to the wrong table in the end and the sake we got was only room temperature instead of hot as ordered, but that wasn't a bad thing It was of course busier than usual on Valentine's Day and that's completely understandable. The only thing I found a bit unfortunate was that when we ordered we explicitly asked for dry ice for the steam and the resulting wow effect, whereupon we were told clearly that it was sold out. That actually wouldn't have been a bad thing, but I thought it was a bit of a shame that the table right next to us (which, mind you, came after us and ordered shortly after us) had dry ice/steam on their plate, but they should have just been honest about that and was able to give us a truthful answer, since the statement that it was sold out was obviously not true. I would have been willing to pay an extra charge for it, that wouldn't have been a problem, but the solution was a bit unfortunate.

The owner is handsome and charming. The food is delicious. 5⭐️

Das Essen ist ganz lecker und es gibt viel Auswahl. Sushi ist sehr schön angerichtet. Allerdings ist es eher westlich angehaucht, die Special Rolls haben für mich persönlich etwas zu viele Geschmacksrichtungen auf einmal, was sie aber natürlich auch besonders macht.

Great restaurant. They have a very attentive service, creative food decoration and tasty food. Additionally, I enjoyed the broad menu of fruity drinks and mixes. The food was prepared very quickly, starter and main dish were times perfectly. I highly recommend this place.

Bon restaurant de sushi au global avec une belle décoration, l'équipe est dynamique. Le choix des plats est varié avec différents menus et le poisson est frais. Cependant comme dans cette rue à quelques mètres nous avons goûté à plusieurs restaurants exceptionnels et ayant leur propre spécialité. Celui-ci ne nous a pas enthousiasmé 😅

Udon Nudeln entsprach nicht unserem Geschmack und wir hatten auch schon schon bessere Sushi , war überwiegend Avocado mit Hähnchen , wenig Lachs... Die Getränkekaraffen sind toll , Strohhalme sind viel zu kurz , also muss man mit der Riesenkaraffe trinken , da keine Gläser serviert werden...fanden wir schon befremdlich... Das Sushi mit Trockeneis und Nebel zu servieren ist ne coole Idee ,aber nichts überwältigendes Insgesamt sehr netter Service , Ambiente gut

Als alle Bars in der Umgebung voll waren, haben wir hier noch einen freien Tisch gefunden. Es ist wirklich angenehm viel Platz. Das Personal war total entspannt und freundlich, so dass wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt habe. Sowohl das Essen auch als die Getränke waren für den Preis super lecker und auch einfach toll auf dem Teller bzw im Glas hergerichtet. Bei Gelegenheit kommen wir auf jede Fall wieder!

Ein tolles Restaurant mit einer eindrucksvollen Decke, die voller Kirschblüten ist. Das Sushi ist außergewöhnlich gut und ein geschmackliches und optisches Highlight.

Das Essen hier ist sehr lecker. Eignet sich sehr gut für ein Date, hier kann man schöne Stunden verbringen und sich näher kennenlernen. Der Service ist schnell und freundlich. Das Ambiente ist ein Hingucker. Gerne wieder!

Nice location and decor. My vegetables gyoza were presented in a scenic way, they were light and delicate although not warm. My maki rolls were a bit smaller than average but good. The mayonnaise based sauce on the plate was perhaps a little westernization of the sushi but not invasive. The Sapporo beer was honest, the place could improve a bit about the beer offer or at least invest in some lager beer glasses.

Wir waren super zufrieden. Mir und meinem 12 jährigen Sohn hat es wunderbar geschmeckt. Großes Lob an den Service. Gerne wieder :-)

Unser Essen kam nicht. Wir haben über eine Stunde gewartet. Gäste die nach uns gekommen sind waren mit ihrer Vorspeise und dem Hauptgang schon fertig und hatten sogar schon bezahlt da war unser Essen immer noch nicht da. Selbst nach mehrfacher Nachfrage wurde kein Essen gebracht. Ein Mineralwasser wurde auch vergessen uns zu bringen.

Top Sushi. Ich war hier 2 mal innerhalb kurzer Zeit und war bei beiden besuchen sehr zufrieden. Das Essen wird sehr schön präsentiert und kommt mit einer Trockeneis-Show :) Das Sushi selbst schmeckt sehr gut, wobei ich das mit Hühnchen weniger empfehlen kann. Lag eventuell auch daran dass wir Hühnchen und Fisch durcheinander gegessen haben und das einfach nicht zusammen passt. Empfehlen kann ich auch die selbstgemachten Limonaden. Sehr lecker. Das Restaurant ist sehr schön eingerichtet und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr aufmerksam, nett und schnell. Preislich ist Sushi generell auf der höheren Seite, aber ich muss doch ein Lob aussprechen, da bei diesem Restaurant das Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis um einiges besser ist als bei der (teueren) Konkurrenz in Mannheim. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen, werde definitiv öfter herkommen.

Wir waren hier mit einer größeren Gruppe von 10 Leuten essen. Dies war auch ohne Reservierung kein Problem, und durften uns auch die Tische zusammen rücken. Die Karten waren sehr übersichtlich und mit Bildern direkt versehen. Die Speisen waren sehr schön angerichtet und haben auch sehr gut geschmeckt.

Ich kann die Begeisterung leider nur eingeschränkt teilen. Das Essen war ok, mehr leider nicht. Das Sushi war durchschnittlich gut. Es fehlt immer so der letzte Pfiff. Der Service hatte leider den Namen nicht im Ansatz verdient.

Ich war so begeistert, weil das Essen mega köstlich war 🙆🏻‍♀️🙆🏻‍♀️ Die Bedienung war auch freundlich und aufmerksam, Ich empfehle weiter 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 "Mừi đỉm mừi đỉm, hông có nhưng" 😂😂😂

Ich war gestern gemeinsam mit zwei Freundinnen dort Vorort essen. Das Essen war megaaa.Preisleistungsverhältnis top und vorallem total freundliche Mitarbeiter. Die Mitarbeiterin die uns gestern bedient hat war so freundlich und brachte direkt gute Laune mit ,sodass unser Aufenthalt Vorort versüßt wurde.Wir werden aufjedenfall öfters vorbei kommen

wir waren jetzt kurz hintereinander (6 monate) 3 mal dort essen. das essen ist mega lecker. der service oberkatastrophe. wenn man im hinteren teil sitzt ist nach dem bringen des essens für die servicekräfte die arbeit getan. niemand kommt für weitere bestellungen und auch das bezahlen war nicht möglich da sich niemand blicken lässt. sehr schade -aber wir werden nicht mehr kommen

Kann den Hype um das Lokal nicht nachvollziehen… ja die Deko sieht nett aus, leider die Hälfte des Lokals zum Essen zu dunkel, schlecht ausgeleuchtet.die Sushikarte klingt interessant und hip, Die Sushiplatte kommt dann mit rauchendem Gefäß als Deko, wozu?! Die Sushi Teile werden von der Küche aus mit undefinierbaren Soßen überkleistert. Nicht zum Wiederkommen.

Wir haben ein Restaurant zum Mittagessen gesucht und das Sumi zufällig entdeckt. Die Einrichtung war typisch asiatisch, ein bisschen kitschig für meinen Geschmack… Aber das Essen! Klasse! Wir waren sehr überrascht und großartig zu Mittag gegessen.

Wir holen dort regelmäßig Sushi ab. Es geht sehr flott und ist absolut lecker uns frisch. Unser GoTo in Mannheim. Wir waren jedesmal sehr happy!

Das „SuMi“ ist wirklich empfehlenswert!!! Ein sehr junges, freundliches und fachlich kompetentes Team begleitete uns durch den wirklich sehe schönen, und vor allem leckeren Abend. Alles was wir auf dem Tisch hatten war mehr als lecker. Auch die Preise im „SuMi“ passen absolut! Immer wieder gerne……

Umm it was just ok. I mean the food is good but I think it’s quite expensive for how much actual food you get. There are other places in Mannheim that provide the same quality sushi at the same price but with more quantity. I probably wouldn’t go back because it was nothing spectacular
