Great food. Staff is great! Great ambience. The spot in Mannheim if you want to have a good meal. I can only recommend it!

There is a wide range of dishes, including both fresh sushi and hot main courses. Our meal, a curry and vegetables with rice, was delicious and the vegetables were very fresh. The service was very attentive and friendly. There were only a few guests there that day and the food came to the table quickly. The decor is nice and you can eat in a cozy atmosphere. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

Even in the entrance area it is very beautiful. It was quite tight (very crowded that day) but still comfortable. There was a large selection of sushi but also plenty for people who don't like sushi. Because it was quite full, we had to wait a long time for the food, but it was worth it. Will definitely come here again!

ecently dined at Sakura Restaurant in Mannheim, and it was a pleasant experience overall. The Vietnamese dishes were truly a highlight—authentic, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I thoroughly enjoyed the freshness and attention to detail in every bite. However, I felt the Thai offerings could use some improvement in authenticity. While they were enjoyable, they lacked the depth of flavors typically associated with traditional Thai cuisine. The ambiance and service were excellent, making it a great spot for Asian food lovers. I’d definitely recommend it for the Vietnamese dishes and hope to see even more authentic flavors in their Thai menu in the future.

I discovered this restaurant by chance in Mannheim in the central area. Selection is good. The dishes are very nicely presented. In terms of taste, I would give it 4.5 stars. The service and ambience are just as appropriate.

Have been here several times. Food was always a 10 out of 10, the conditions were super friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. We can only recommend it!

It's kind of a strange restaurant. We were deceived by the good reviews. The service is really confusing, the waiter was constantly running from A to B even though the place was empty. When paying he seemed angry because we wanted to pay by card. The gentleman cooking at the counter wears headphones and is constantly looking at his cell phone. There was screaming or singing several times in the kitchen (unrecognizable). The toilet wasn't really clean. On top of that, the food was above average in price.

I can recommend Sakura at any time. I was there twice. Once in pairs and once in a group of 11 people. It was very successful both times. Food perfect, service perfect, ambience perfect and friendliness perfect. So recommended at any time.

This Asian restaurant is really fine! All the dishes we ate (four adults and two kids) were excellent. The personnel is very forthcoming, which added much to our satisfaction. We’ll certainly come again.

We visited Sakura because of its 4.7 star rating. We weren't disappointed. The food was very tasty. The service was courteous. Even our jackets were hung up. Between sushi and Vietnamese dishes, everyone was sure to be able to choose what they wanted. The children don't miss out on ketchup and crispy chicken either. One main course is certainly enough to fill you up. When choosing starters, you can also choose both.

Great restaurant. There was a small misunderstanding when ordering, but the response was very nice and without reproach to the guest and that shows a really authentic picture, unfortunately no longer common today. This always makes me very happy as a guest and I wish the operators all the best! Super tasty, prices commensurate with the quality. Always my pleasure!

We came to dine in this restaurant and on this particular day they did not have card payment. The waiter spoke terrible German. After ordering drinks he brought the wrong drink TWICE, the wrong juice and tea, then he wanted us to take the wrong juice (and pay for it) after the wrong tea they brought me a DIRTY CUP. And 5 euros for a tea bag is too much, I thought it would be real quality tea for this price. The food was great, very tasty soup and fried sushi. In the end they brought us a drink for the inconvenience but I would not go there again anyway

Best curry I’ve eaten in Mannheim since I got back from Asia. The owner was incredibly kind and gracious and made me a special dish even after closing hours, ala authentic Asian hospitality.

Wir waren heute auf der Durchreise und haben Sakura zufällig und spontan gesehen. Wir wurden von freundlichen Menschen und einem tollen Lokalambiente begrüßt! Die Karte ist für Liebhaber der vietnamesischen Küche und Sushi Fans ein Paradies! Wir haben verschiedene Gerichte bestellt und alles war einfach super!!! Daher absolute Empfehlung. Bei Gelegenheit kommen wir definitiv wieder. Danke Sakura!

Very bad, disrespectful employees

I went there spontaneously after visiting a trade fair and almost walked past the restaurant because it seemed so inconspicuous. But as soon as you enter the restaurant the ambience is very successful. It's just a little loud. Especially when it is busy. What really blew me away and surprised me was the food. I had teriyaki as a starter and you could tell straight away that it was freshly prepared. Completely different than any other Asian. This is how I imagine teriyaki in Asia. The main course, grilled duck with udon, was also good and looked accordingly fresh. The duck was a bit dry, but it was grilled and baked like any other Asian restaurant. Should I be back in Mannheim at some point, a second visit is mandatory.

All very average. I expected more from the food and ambience based on the Instagram profile. The space at the entrance was uncomfortable and you are looked at by the queue for a seat while eating. No one asked if I would like anything else to drink and the plate was cleared away as I chewed the last bite. Will not visit the restaurant again.

The waiters are super polite and accommodating. They are really lovely people and you feel totally welcome. The food is mediocre, one tastes better and the other tastes less. The sushi, especially the crunchy one, tastes very, very good. However, the sauce is very spicy, if you don't like it you should say so. The summer rolls were quite ok, for example peanut sauce would have tasted more, but that is of course just an individual matter.

We were there in the evening with a large group (~20P) and had reserved in advance. The service was consistently friendly and attentive - although people gradually arrived at our two tables, they were also served quickly and received their food without an extended waiting time. Some of it is presented very stylishly and the drinks were consistently good. The next day we went again at lunchtime with a smaller group (8 people) and were completely satisfied :)

At Sakura you can actually find a vegan version of every dish, which is why it's often great for mixed groups. The vegan versions are great. Had the best udon noodles with imitation shrimp that I could find so far. The shop was very full but thanks to good and quick organization they managed to organize a place for us without a reservation. The staff is super friendly and organized. I'd love to come back there!

We got a place for 4 people at short notice and were warmly welcomed and served. The food was good. The sushi wasn't cut/rolled very evenly. But the taste is okay. In my opinion, it doesn't have to be arranged with a plastic tree. The ambience is Instagrammable, like so many restaurants at the moment.

It was our first time at the restaurant and I mentioned this in a casual conversation. The friendliness of the waiters and the service top everything conventional! The food is extremely tasty and the prices are more than reasonable. Since they obviously wanted to keep us as new customers for the long term, we were even given an appetizer and a final drink. All of this with a very nice smile on his face. Simply fantastic. We'll definitely be back.

I had a wonderful evening at Sakura Restaurant, which offers a huge variety of sushi to choose from! While the lighting isn't ideal for food photos, trust me, the dishes look much better in reality. The prices are very affordable, and the quality is excellent. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the stylish decor of the restaurant. We spent about three hours ordering and enjoying conversations. The service was fast and friendly. I'll definitely be a regular guest here!

In my opinion, Sakura is one of the best restaurants in Mannheim. The service is very attentive and courteous. When we took off our jackets, we were offered that they could hang up jackets for us. The atmosphere is also very pleasant and inviting. The food (both sushi and the rest) is made with a lot of love, you can tell in the taste. The meat in my soup was very tender and delicious. If you like sushi/Vietnamese food, you're definitely in good hands here. We have been there at least 5 times in the last year and have never been disappointed. From friendly service to delicious food, everything is just right there.

Ich kann die guten Bewertungen leider nicht ganz nachvollziehen. Die Soße zu den Sommerrollen war langweilig, da gibt es viel bessere. Die Hähnchenspieße wurden ganz vergessen. Als sie dann endlich kamen, waren sie absolut trocken mit einem Hauch von Soße. Sushi waren gut. Tisch war nicht richtig sauber. Im hinteren Teil des Raumes steigt immer wieder der Toilettenparfumduft nach oben. Also viele kleine Punkte, die mir nicht gefallen haben. Insgesamt zu wenig Qualität mit zu viel Trockeneis.

Just wow. We were there for the first time today and we are thrilled. The food looked very good, was high quality and tasted fantastic. The waiter and the man who showed us to the table were both very nice, funny and charming. Contributes to the relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant is also very nicely furnished and decorated with the lanterns. I think the many vegan/vegetarian meat alternatives are great, especially the duck. Progressive and almost no other restaurants have that. Definitely come by. The cocktails are good too. We will be back.

Went there spontaneously yesterday with my daughter and we were both absolutely thrilled. The employees are very accommodating and friendly. The food was excellent, the waiting time was short. We are from out of town and were in Mannheim for an event, but I would be happy to travel back specifically for a culinary experience like this.

The food tasted artificial, bland and soggy. The nice presentation with dry ice etc. seems to distract most people from the actual taste of the food. I can't recommend it.

The main course came before the starter, but was taken away again but 40 minutes later. Kept warm, unfortunately it wasn't as tasty and the taste was just very bland...

After our evening at Sakura Mannheim we are simply blown away. The way the staff welcomed us and anticipated our needs was quite impressive. But then the food – wow! You can see what I mean in the photo: The sushi not only tasted amazing, it also looked great. Arranged on a bamboo board, each piece is a little work of art that you almost don't want to eat because it is so beautiful. The atmosphere at Sakura is just right - cozy and stylish at the same time. You sit on benches, which gives the whole thing a casual touch, but if you prefer chairs, the guys and girls from the service conjure up those too. When my father-in-law wasn't able to walk very well, they even let him use the staff toilet so that he could save himself having to climb the stairs. This small but nice gesture really touched us. Every bite was a little trip to Japan. The aromas, the freshness – everything is great. We'll definitely be back, because it's not every day that you find such culinary delights combined with warmth.

So it's very comfortable to eat here. The food is definitely delicious and you can't fault it. But what stands out and really touched us very much is the service staff on site. To all Germans, everyone knows the saying, customer is king, if you haven't been able to imagine much about it and that's very difficult in the catering industry out there, then go in here and you'll be overwhelmed by it, because it's 100% literal implemented! Rather disappointing, although we were surprised given the otherwise good reviews. The food is rather mediocre for the prices. The waiter was friendly and quick, but barely understood us. The menu on Google Maps is outdated (now more expensive and some other dishes/sauces).
