OJIGI - Japanese Restaurant Mannheim in Mannheim

We became aware of the restaurant via social media and therefore had quite high expectations. Unfortunately, the visit didn't really convince us. We found the atmosphere rather uncomfortable, too many tables and too loud, even though it wasn't really full. The food was good. No more and no less. For the price I expect a little more, for example that the food comes to the table really warm/hot. I was really disappointed with the espresso martini. Unfortunately, it wasn't until after I tried it that I realized that the restaurant only had a standard coffee machine, like those found in offices/hotels. Mediocre coffee doesn't make a good espresso martini. The bartender, at whose request I tried a second one, couldn't help it either. Here you could have had the drink in my opinion. should be taken off the bill instead of forcing a second one on me. I just sipped both briefly and then left them. I'm not entirely sure why a 0.2l cola costs €5.50. Conclusion: A good restaurant, but not recommended for the price level. You get more for your money elsewhere. What it definitely needs is a portafilter machine and good beans. Otherwise you should take the Espresso Martini (+ normal espresso) off the menu.

An absolute must for anyone who loves very good cuisine! No matter what we have eaten so far, it has always been very tasty and very fresh!! I can absolutely recommend it!! Reservation is definitely better!

Disappointing Experience at Ojigi: A Frustrating Review. Today I visited the Japanese restaurant Ojigi in Mannheim as part of a Merito business event. As a regular attendee of such events, I was excited to see what this restaurant had to offer. Unfortunately, however, I was bitterly disappointed by an extremely frustrating experience. The event, which usually provides an opportunity to network and foster connections, started promisingly with a welcome drink. But not only was it sparse and warm, it was also prepared well in advance, which greatly affected its quality. However, the real low point came when it came to the food. Despite multiple requests to the staff, my request for a little something as I was really hungry was simply ignored. Even when I approached the boss personally and asked for help, I was still ignored. This ignorance and lack of professionalism from the staff was unacceptable. Ultimately I left the restaurant and the event frustrated and disappointed. As someone who usually enjoys discovering and supporting new restaurants, I will never visit Oijigi again. I feel it is my duty to share my experience in order to save other potential guests from a similar disappointment. Overall, my visit to Oijigi was an extremely negative experience that paints the restaurant in a very poor light. I cannot recommend it and see it as a missed opportunity for the restaurant to generate positive publicity and gain repeat customers.

Here and there a little too loud inappropriate music. but that is my feeling. The food is really good. Service is nice and courteous.

Unfortunately a big disappointment. The ambience is great... but the tables are tightly packed, so commerce takes precedence over privacy and comfort. The atmosphere is more like a train station pub. If someone wants to get out, the neighboring table has to move to the side. Private conversations impossible. The food was really good. Drink selection (various sake) also good. Unfortunately the service left a very negative impression. First drinks were forgotten... we waited 40 minutes for it and were reminded twice. And then a “head waitress” came who wanted to discuss with us how to taste sake properly. It's stupid if you want to lecture your guests when they themselves have excellent knowledge of the subject. That was below all standards. So all in all: eat good The ambience itself is great but the seating is far too tight Train station atmosphere (with appropriate volume) Service was sometimes very careless, sometimes really super nice but not competent in detail either. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back and will look for a restaurant in the future where you can have a cozy evening for two and feel courteous service.

We have been here several times. The food was always fantastic. The service is extremely friendly and professional, but unfortunately there are a bit too few employees for the large store. We'd love to come back.

Best sushi ever!!!! An absolute must for sushi lovers.

Tried the Shabu Shabu at Ojigi today. It was our first visit and definitely not the last. For the price you get a great quantity and top quality. We will be back!

Greatly different prices in the cards we got.

Although the food was very tasty, I still only give it 3 out of 5 stars because the service was not good and that at premium prices. The service should be consistent. I also think it's a disgrace to serve 0.2 cola on the tables at €4.90... basic drinks should have basic prices. Basta

Our experience at Ojigi, Mannheim: Upon entering we received a friendly welcome, even though we came without a reservation on a Thursday evening. We got a place without any problem. A smartly dressed waitress led us to our table. Her shoes seemed inappropriate and visually unoptimal to me, but that was just a small comment. I ordered the beef stir fried udon, and they were outstanding. The overall service was also very good. Although the prices were on the higher side, the quality reflected that. Overall, a recommended experience at Ojigi in Mannheim.

Original review: The first impression was just WOW! When we looked at the pictures on the Internet (looking for a great Japanese restaurant that didn't just offer sushi), we knew this would be a very special evening - and that's exactly what it was! Even though it took us a while to make the long journey (after all, an hour's drive on the motorway...), we don't regret anything and will be very, very happy to come back! Everything is perfect here: beautiful ambience, super nice service and really ingenious, incredibly tasty, beautifully prepared dishes! We like to go out for a good meal and then it can cost a little more, especially if you can experience such a great evening :) We are already looking forward to our next visit! Our favorite Japanese from now on! Next time we have to try the sushi - we didn't get around to it because of all the delicious starters... ;) UPDATE: We've been here several times now, but what's going on here just isn't nice anymore. The long journey is free, no matter how good the food tastes. The service is now a catastrophe, pure mass processing and absolutely unworthy of this location! The appetizers suddenly all came at once and not one after the other as before so that you can enjoy them. Accordingly, half of it was cold by the time we finished the soup. We couldn't even order a wine because everything happened so quickly and then the main course was on the table in no time. A failed evening that we ended just as quickly. Unfortunately no more recommendation :(

Food is good but too expensive. You can have the same quality for 2/3 of the price. Smoking area next to the dining area. Unfortunately, the smell comes in .

Very tasty, fresh Asian crossover cuisine, maybe a tad too expensive and the menu should be a little more informative, but all in all a great shop!

The service here is super great. I had a very tall waiter who was super nice and efficient. The food was technically great for the price. Only recommended!

I rarely go to Japanese restaurants because I'm allergic to fish. But all guests who don't want to or can't eat sushi get their money's worth here. I had very tasty, tender chicken skewers with teriyaki marinade and lamb chops with mashed potatoes in tandoori sauce. Which was also excellent in terms of taste. A small deduction in the ambience. It was very cold in the restaurant, apparently the windows didn't close properly. That wasn't nice given the outside temperatures.

Wir hatten eine Sushiplatte für 2 Personen für 64,90€, absolut fairer Preis, qualitativ hochwertige Zutaten, feinstes Sushi. Ein Gaumenschmaus, viele Gerichte auf der Karte klingen ebenso traumhaft, deswegen werde ich öfter kommen müssen! Das Homemade Getränk konnte ebenso überzeugen wie das gemütliche Ambiente mit angenehmen Lichtverhältnissen. Der Kellner war locker und humorvoll.

Der Service war sehr freundlich und das Essen super lecker und aromatisch. Vermutlich ist es besser vorab zu reservieren. Wir waren spontan da und haben noch ein Platz bekommen.

Waren bereits mehrmals hier gewesen. Restaurant bietet eine solide Auswahl an Getränke und Speisen. Personal ist sehr freundlich und das Essen wird in der Regel ganz schnell serviert unabhängig von den Besücheranzahl.

Schön Klasse, lecker, gemütlich

Wir waren schon mehrmals in diesem Restaurant und immer zufrieden. Der Service ist typisch japanisch, sehr diszipliniert und nett. Wir wurden konstant gefragt ob alles ok sei. Speisen super frisch, lecker, mit Liebe und aufwendig zubereitet. Aperol Spritz so wie er sein soll( nicht wie bei vielen anderen mit ganz viel Wasser vermischt) Verstehe absolut nicht das einige hier so doofe Bewertungen schreiben. Nicht mal zu wissen wie man richtig das Wort Rabatt schreibt aber selbst ambitioniert bis geht nicht mehr. Das mit dem Raucherraum finde ich voll in Ordnung, man muss eben höflich sagen das man sich dort nicht wohl fühlt und einen anderen Tisch haben möchte, was ist das Problem? Wichtig ist nur wie man sich dabei äußert. Wir kommen wieder!

Lecker, freundliches Personal, top Ambiente.

Schöner neuer Japaner mitten in den Quadraten. Wir hatten Sushi, Tempura und Ente. Alles sehr lecker. Dazu war der Service super freundlich.

Essen super lecker 😋, Service war sehr vorkommend und freundlich 😊, hatten ein wunderschönes Ambiente. Meine Tochter durfte dort auch Klavier spielen, Sie hat schon mal fort gespielt, dir Bedienungen haben meine Tochter zum spielen aufgefordert. Das Essen schmeckte super und kam such, trotz vieler Gäste, ziemlich schnell da. Es war soooooo nett. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen

Der Service hat mich negativ überrascht. Obwohl wir zuerst die Getränke und die Vorspeise serviert bekamen, mussten wir leider über eine Stunde auf das Hauptgericht warten. Ich zahlte für die Getränke und Vorspeise, verließ dann jedoch den Laden. Wenn man im Restaurant über eine Stunde auf sein Essen warten muss, kann auch kein Michelin-Stern helfen. Leider werde ich diesen Laden nicht mehr besuchen.

Ich hatte eine fantastische Zeit im Ojigi Restaurant! Das Essen war einfach genial – authentisch und köstlich. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich die harmonische Verbindung zwischen dem Ambiente und den exquisiten Gerichten. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist einfach einzigartig und schafft eine wundervolle Umgebung für kulinarische Genüsse. Der Service war freundlich und aufmerksam, was meinen Besuch zu einem rundum gelungenen Erlebnis machte. MITTAGSTISCH sehr guter Qualität, aufmerksamer Service Wir kommen wieder!

Ich war bereits einige Male mit Begleitung im Ojigi und wir sind jedes Mal begeistert! Ein absolut tolles Team, freundlich und zuvorkommend, wunderbares Essen von der Suppe über den Pulpo bis hin zum Sushi. Leckere fruchtige Cocktails und natürlich auch das Ambiente runden immer wieder den Besuch im Ojigi ab. Sehr schön ist auch das es einen Raucherbereich gibt. Klare Empfehlung!

Wir sind heute spontan ohne Reservierung essen gegangen wurden bereits am Empfang sehr nett begrüßt und direkt bedient, obwohl wir mitten in der Prime Time da waren! Die Cocktails waren einfach großartig, viel besser wie in mancher Bar. Das Sushi war super lecker und sehr frisch, und die Nachtischplatte auch der Wahnsinn! Der Service einfach super aufmerksam und wirklich ausgezeichnet. Uns war bereits beim schönen Ambiente bewusst, dass das kein sehr günstiges Restaurant ist, sondern vielleicht eins für einen besonderen Anlass. Trotzdem Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis für ein besonderes Abendessen, für mich als Studentin vollkommen in Ordnung.
