Have been there several times. And every time was great. The portions are large, the sauces are delicious. Sushi are delicious. Drinks are awesome!

Chic modern restaurant, a little more expensive, the quality and taste of the food and drinks, but definitely worth it. But the service needs to be worked on. Despite the many service staff, you had to practically beg for attention, despite the fact that everyone had enough time to talk to each other, and it felt like there was no one who was specifically responsible for the area. Only the younger Japanese waiter was very attentive here. Maybe it was because people had the impression that I as an individual (tourist) didn't make that much sales, but you could have guessed the opposite when I placed my first order.

Beautiful shop and the food is extremely tasty, great quality, everything from sushi to medium-cooked duck is top notch. It's a little more expensive but justified.

We ate vegan on site with vegetables and tofu. Everything was freshly prepared with a slight spiciness. It was lunchtime and it was well attended. Since we ordered a starter, we didn't have to wait long for our main course. The price/performance ratio was also very, very humane. We paid around €40 for three courses with drinks. The service was quick, very satisfactory and very attentive. We felt very comfortable.

There were two of us there. I had ordered a starter plate for two people and a soup in advance. The soup was incredibly tasty... I can only recommend it! The appetizer platter was also quite good with lots of different things. My main course was the grill plate for one person. Visually very beautifully presented and also very good in taste. You could clearly taste the freshness and quality. Unfortunately we didn't like it. Was dessert for two people. It was beautifully prepared, but it's not just the eye that eats it. Unfortunately the taste wasn't to our liking. In summary: - Soup TOP! - Starter TOP! - Main course TOP! - Dessert is much better! Would definitely come again.

Our absolute sushi favorite in the region

Whenever I'm in Mannheim, I can't miss a visit to this restaurant. The prices aren't exactly cheap, but you get top quality. The menu is innovative. The tuna steak on the hot stone is particularly recommended. Sushi is also super tasty. When ordering, please always be careful not to order too many starters. The portions are large and you can definitely share something. I've already experienced that too. There were three of us and we ordered a sushi platter for two people as a starter and then the tuna steak for the main course. That was too much. The appetizer platter was huge. It's better to order individual things as a starter and share them. This is just a tip. The service is good, but above all the ambience and quality of the food are convincing. This is really great. I'm always there when I'm in Mannheim. Try it yourself. It's worth it

Food was good, but I had to eat a kebab afterwards

The restaurant is nicely decorated, sometimes overly kitschy. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. At first the waiter was very friendly, later he stopped caring about us. For the starter, the scallops were raw, not fried at all and therefore went back, which meant we couldn't eat the starters together. My husband didn't order mashed potatoes with the duck rice, but came back with mashed potatoes. The waiter apologized and said he would bring the rice straight away, which again took 5 minutes. So the main course is not together again. After that, no one cared about us anymore, no question about whether we wanted dessert or more drinks. So we wanted to pay, which took another 20 minutes. There were many young couples around us who ate so quickly that there was constant coming and going. When I made the reservation, I had asked for a nice table with justification, but it was uncomfortable. Someone had written "Ideal for a first date", perhaps if you wanted to brag about the high price. The food, on the 2nd attempt, was good, but not oh wow. And why mashed potatoes everywhere, it's not on the menu in Japan. We tried the restaurant, it was okay, but there will be no return

New Year's Eve buffet for 100 euros per person. Music and drinks were promised. The drinks ultimately had to be paid for extra under flimsy explanations: “they had communicated this incorrectly”. The meal wasn't worth 38 euros. Every second-rate Chinese delivers such a buffet of comparable quality for a third of the asking price. We were there twice today: for the first and for the last time.

Food was great everytime we went there. Even tho the stuff could be more friendly. Atmosphere is so beautiful and perfect for a date.

Very tasty food. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Very friendly and helpful staff. Except for the pictures hanging on the walls, we found the atmosphere inviting.

The service and restaurant management were very guest-oriented and accommodating. Questions about dishes and dietary regulations (halal, vegan, vegetarian) were answered confidently and taken seriously. The tuna steak was delicious and the dessert à a chef was also recommended. All this quality comes at a price, but it seems fair.

Top fine dining. Super tasty and great to look at. Very relaxed atmosphere. With relaxing music. Very clean toilets! The 3 hour layover flew by. I haven't had such a relaxed and delicious meal in a long time. TOP RECOMMENDATION!!!

Tastes decent but price performance not worth it

The quality of the food was good and the taste was also very tasty, but the grill plate for 2 people was far too little for 99 euros. I was hoping for something different. My daughter's menu had 4 courses and each course tasted very good. As far as service is concerned, we expected something different in this price category. Far too few waitresses given the size of the restaurant. Our waitress wasn't attentive, she wasn't asked if anything else was wanted, I then had to tell her to clean the table, my daughter had to wait a long time for her drink, the waitresses were a bit stressed and short. Given the prices and the philosophy of life stated on the menu, I would have expected a little more. One waitress had very long, white-painted nails, which is not possible in the catering industry, at least in the upscale catering industry.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for their anniversary. Food was very tasty BUT… a young waiter with braces was great, very nice and attentive, but between courses another waiter simply put his used cutlery from my friend's plate back on the table, saying he should use it for the next one Keep gear. I really wouldn't have expected that we wouldn't get any fresh cutlery in such an expensive restaurant 😳 not at all! If you leave dirty cutlery on a plate and the waiter takes the plate but puts the dirty cutlery back on the table 😳 that's really a no go! And secondly, what really disappointed us was that my friend wrote when we made the reservation that he would have liked to have our table beautifully decorated because it was a special day for us, and would also have liked to pay more for it, but unfortunately he didn't we didn't get anything and it was just ignored. So it's a shame because the food was really great, but because of these circumstances we're not going there anymore.

Had a team dinner here. The food was top notch and the service was also quite good. Specifically one of the staff Tamia was very sweet and she was friendly enough to converse in English and ready to help for our queries. Tldr: I was quite happy with the overall experience here.

This place is exepensiv yes but, it is worth the price. The Sushi and Ice cream are divine. If you have cash to splash, it is certainly worth the visit. I would give it 3 Michelin stars if I could 😂

Ordered a plate of “a little bit of everything” for business. Starter was salted edamame. The main course was a 2.5m long wooden platter with three richly filled plates. From sushi, to fish fillet, at least 2 different types of steak, perfectly medium fried, baked oysters (not normally a fan, but they were awesome), to also tender lamb chops and giant prawns. It was plentiful and everything was incredibly tasty. Dessert was again three plates, mochi served on ice cubes, fresh fruit and lychee ice cream.

It's Asian fusion. All of the salad dressings were delicious. The fried chicken and fish looked cute and delicious. The main portions are large, so I thought it would be a good idea to share them.

Food was excellent. However, as it was not crowded the atmosphere seemed a bit too cold. In addition to it the service was mediocre judging by the price. No real knowledge about the card nor did they refill the glas. Furthermore it took them over half an hour to get the main dish.

We both wanted vegetarian sushi. However, the asparagus was out. Since all but one of the vegetarian rolls contain asparagus, we could only be offered "something vegetarian" as a substitute. At least it was still tasty and the service was pleasant. I think the drinks prices are pretty outrageous, the rest of the prices aren't very cheap but they're okay.

The food in the restaurant was very good and we were very full after the meal. In my opinion the cocktail was a bit too sweet but still good. Unfortunately, the service took a while and the two tables that arrived after us got their food and the menu quicker than we did. But this can be easily overcome with the excellent food and the wonderful ambience in the restaurant.

Highly recommended for people who want to experience sushi in a different way

We were here to try a new restaurant. The shabu advertised on Instagram should be reserved in advance - and if possible in colder seasons. The food and service was great - but in the hot temperatures WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING it was a horror!!! Maybe we'll come back in winter with hopefully a heater? We need to work on this - unreasonable for customers and employees when it gets warmer than 25C. You can park in the nearby parking garages.

Disappointing, The food is well presented and is of high quality in terms of taste and quality, apart from the bones in my sushi. However, the service left a lot to be desired. Despite reservations and a low number of visitors, we were missing table utensils such as bowls and chopsticks. The treatment was also extremely poor - just because we look and are young, we still deserve service. Finally, the bill was forgotten and only brought to the table after 20 minutes after being asked.

I come to Ojigi as often as possible. It is far and away the best sushi ever!❤️ The food is simply incredibly delicious, unfortunately I can't give as many stars as Ojigi deserves 😫 There are also enough delicious alternatives for companions who are not sushi fans. Even if it's not exactly cheap, every euro is well invested. Your taste buds will thank you.

A Japanese fine dining experience in Mannheim. *Food: everything was really tasty, from the sushis to the gyozas and whatever else we had. None of the dishes missed the taste and feeling that they were going for as it hit right on the spot. *Drinks: had tea and also had the opportunity to try sake and it tasted decent. *Staff: were polite and courteous Pricing: more towards the higher end but worth the food and the environment.

Since I only had a drink and a small dish, I want to keep a low profile about the food. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the decoration is not excessive. The service was outstanding. I'll come back soon and update my review.

Disappointing… unfortunately nothing convinced us. The restaurant is stylish - and that's all... The service is poor or non-existent. They couldn't give us any recommendations and didn't ask us for any other drinks. Nobody wanted to know whether we were satisfied or whether we liked it or whether we would like to order something else. We were there on a Saturday evening - there was relatively little going on - so not a stressful evening for the staff. Unfortunately, both menus (sushi/grill) are not particularly good either. You try to make the plate look sophisticated with a few flowers. Unfortunately, the taste is rather poor and therefore rather disappointing overall. The portion from the grill menu is a good size. Unfortunately, one of two pieces of meat was tough, gristly and had bits of bone. I don't understand why it is called a menu, because there is neither a starter nor a dessert. The sushi menu had at least a small bland miso soup. The nigiri and maki fell apart and in my opinion were not well prepared. The portion was too small. It's a real shame - I was hoping for more.

Really high class, great interior design. The food tastes really great, even if it is a little too expensive. The service is friendly, sometimes it actually takes longer. The menus look great with the hard plastic, but they are not so easy to use. You can also sit outside, but the disadvantage is that you sit directly on the sidewalk and the (noisy) street.

The kitchen is really good. The service is not good. A second menu, which was available at the next table, was not offered when asked. Customers are addressed as Du. The glasses were not cleaned properly. We didn't hear the advertised "Ojigi - respectful gesture of bowing". Too bad.

I rarely write reviews, but everything was just right here. The service was courteous and attentive and the sushi was phenomenally good. The price is a little higher, but the quality of the sushi is unbeatable and you can taste it. The restaurant is stylishly furnished. Please maintain this standard. We will definitely come back.

We pre-ordered Shabu Shabu (it's not on the menu but it's advertised on Instagram). It was really delicious and a special experience. The service was very nice and accommodating at the beginning and everything was explained very well. Unfortunately, the service dropped off completely immediately after the meal - that was downright strange and really spoiled the great impression at the end. As soon as the food was cleared away, we were completely ignored, had empty glasses in front of us and it was virtually impossible to order dessert or other drinks. Unbelievably, we spoke to/reminded the service several times for more than an hour until we got another card, then another 30 minutes until a drink order was taken. It's a bit of a shame, but we would definitely come again because everything was fine until then.

We became aware of the restaurant via social media and therefore had quite high expectations. Unfortunately, the visit didn't really convince us. We found the atmosphere rather uncomfortable, too many tables and too loud, even though it wasn't really full. The food was good. Neither more nor less. For the price I expect a little more, for example that the food comes to the table really warm/hot. I was really disappointed with the espresso martini. Unfortunately, it wasn't until I tried it that I discovered that the restaurant only had a standard coffee machine, like those found in offices/hotels. Mediocre coffee doesn't make a good espresso martini. The bartender, at whose request I tried a second one, couldn't help it either. Here you could have had the drink in my opinion. should be taken off the bill instead of forcing a second one on me. I just sipped both briefly and then left them. I'm not entirely sure why a 0.2l cola costs €5.50. Conclusion: A good restaurant, but not recommended for the price level. You get more for your money elsewhere. What it definitely needs is a portafilter machine and good beans. Otherwise you should take the Espresso Martini (+ normal espresso) off the menu.

Disappointing Experience at Ojigi: A Frustrating Review. Today I visited the Japanese restaurant Ojigi in Mannheim as part of a Merito business event. As a regular attendee of such events, I was excited to see what this restaurant had to offer. Unfortunately, however, I was bitterly disappointed by an extremely frustrating experience. The event, which usually provides an opportunity to network and foster connections, began promisingly with a welcome drink. But not only was it sparse and warm, it was also prepared well in advance, which greatly affected its quality. However, the real low point came when it came to the food. Despite multiple requests to the staff, my request for a little something as I was really hungry was simply ignored. Even when I approached the boss personally and asked for help, I was still ignored. This ignorance and lack of professionalism from the staff was unacceptable. Ultimately I left the restaurant and the event frustrated and disappointed. As someone who usually enjoys discovering and supporting new restaurants, I will never visit Oijigi again. I feel it is my duty to share my experience in order to save other potential guests from a similar disappointment. Overall, my visit to Oijigi was an extremely negative experience that paints the restaurant in a very poor light. I cannot recommend it and see it as a missed opportunity for the restaurant to generate positive publicity and gain repeat customers.

Unfortunately a big disappointment. The ambience is great... but the tables are tightly packed, so commerce takes precedence over privacy and comfort. The atmosphere is more like a train station pub. If someone wants to get out, the neighboring table has to move to the side. Private conversations impossible. The food was really good. Drink selection (various sake) also good. Unfortunately the service left a very negative impression. First drinks were forgotten... we waited 40 minutes for it and were reminded twice. And then a “head waitress” came who wanted to discuss with us how to taste sake properly. It's stupid if you want to lecture your guests when they themselves have excellent knowledge of the subject. That was below all standards. So all in all: eat good The ambience itself is great but the seating is far too tight Train station atmosphere (with appropriate volume) Service was sometimes very careless, sometimes really super nice but not competent in detail either. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back and will look for a restaurant in the future where you can have a cozy evening for two and feel courteous service.
