Südklause in Hildesheim

It was delicious, the chicken used to taste better. Not enough spice?

Zero work ethic, just run the place to the wall... The waitress interrupts you, imperious and doesn't listen. Fries apparently fried again after frying, burnt.,, We've noticed this the last few times and even though I address it, NO INSIGHT, no accommodating or doing it again. Counted BRoT, a piece of bread although I often “asked for plenty of bread” We still had to pay the full price, even though I mentioned it, We hardly ate and I was also very annoyed. You just can't do things as simple as fries anymore, the main thing is to raise prices every year. NEVER AGAIN Food: Zero point zero Service: I recommend early retirement or a position in the Navy

The Mexico chicken was super tasty and came relatively quickly

The food didn't taste good. The fat just drips out of the schnitzel and fries. The Pusta sauce was definitely not freshly prepared, but rather a finished product. Service was totally annoyed and unfriendly. Some of the salads were from jars and not fresh.

When I'm in HI and have time I like to get food there.

We were back in the Südklause after a long time with friends from Bremen who were really in the mood for a delicious, crispy chicken. We would have liked to sit outside but the service was so “friendly” that it was clear and clear to us that it was the beer garden closed! We then went to the pub, which was dark and very uncomfortable in a 30-year-old state. Since everyone was terribly hungry, we ordered. This clause resembles a chip shop rather worse. We'll never come back😩

If you want to eat half a chicken, there is hardly a better place in Hildesheim than Südklause. The other home-style dishes also taste good to me. I classify the atmosphere as quaint. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. You can also take the prepared poultry home with you.

The food and everything else is, as always, very, very good.

We like to eat there. Mostly Mexican chicken.

Best chicken in Hildesheim.. I love this shop.. I think the owner has recently changed.. unfortunately so has the staff.. but the food has remained the same.

Absolute disaster, disgusting fries fried in old fat, chicken liver from the deep fryer, fart dry and only tasted like old fat, chicken sauce salty and watery. If you don't want to eat unhealthy food again, you've come to the right place!

Very tasty food and an old but well-kept atmosphere. It's a cult pub that you can love. Generations have already been there and will hopefully continue to eat there in the future

I was in the Südklause as a small child on my father's lap. That was over 30 years ago now! It's always a feeling of a happy childhood when fragrant chicken, fries with a big hit of mayo and salad come to the table. I hardly know of anything that has remained so unmistakably good over decades!!!! Even though we now live in Düsseldorf, a visit to the Südklause is a must when we are in our old homeland! And if someone doesn't know her and is just visiting Hildesheim: visit this rustic location! Great food, lovely service, fair prices!!

I can only speak about the chicken, but we often go to the Südklause. The ladies who serve there have been here for a long time and are always super nice.

Actually a location as we know it from before. Reminds me of real morning pints from back then. Meet nice people and strike up a conversation. Comfort is given, The dishes looked very good and were reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and quick. Parking lots available . Recommended.

As authentic as 20 years ago... Everything clean, tidy and super friendly... highly recommended for the tastiest chicken...

The food is still really GERMAN, you can tell that there is someone at the stove who knows their craft., really tasty. The service was great, friendly and well-disposed and fast. I can recommend this restaurant.

We were there yesterday based on a recommendation. No menu outside. Then we took one from the dirty table. The staff were all standing outside the door smoking. Tables dirty, old, sometimes very unpleasant to look at. Placemats or the good old lacquered tablecloth could have made a big difference here. Since we were out all day and my son was really hungry and we don't know our way around Hi, we ordered anyway. My son had Jägerschnitzel fries and I had Pusztaspieße and 🍟. Plus salad. It didn't look so nice anymore and the dressing looked and tasted like it came from a bottle. Jägerschnitzel was so lame. The 🍟 tasted like old chip fat and the sauce was a disaster. When the waitress took the order, I had to look at the numbers again. She snatched the card out of my hands. I jumped up and said "ouch" because it was snatched away from me very roughly. The lady apologized if she hadn't seen her. I had the card in both hands. Impossible. The lady where we sat at the table later told us that you couldn't eat anything other than the famous chicken there. Sad. I've never had food like this before. I've also never experienced such unfriendly staff before, once, and I've never experienced such dirty and uncomfortable anywhere. 6, put, my old class teacher would have said in the past. Once and never again. The Italian restaurant around the corner was full. Let's test next time. It couldn't be worse 😞

Anyone who comes here eats Mexican chicken. Absolutely delicious! Well, the ambience can be improved but you can also sit outside. Familiar, relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices.

We came here when I was still a child. The restaurant has remained true to itself. Delicious food, friendly service, rustic charm. I'd love to keep coming.

We have been regular customers here for years. Unfortunately we were particularly disappointed last time: 3 out of 5 Mexican chickens weren't cooked through, the meat was pink and the meat wasn't chewable... we also come here because of the special Mexico sauce that no one else can do, but this time it was Sooo liquid, as if you had poured water instead of sauce... I don't even want to talk about these prices, I think an increase is a bit cheeky. And when it's that high, you expect quality!!! We even got a non-carbonated cola. It's a shame, but we wouldn't come here again.

Visited on a recommendation to eat fried chicken. A nice, rustic restaurant with very nice conditions and the food is excellent. Gladly again.

In the Südklause you simply know what you have. Great food and incredibly nice staff who are always up for fun. For the small and the big hunger as well as for small and big money. There is something for everyone there!

Completely understaffed - disaster! Waited more than 45 minutes just to place the order. And we're still waiting...

I came based on a recommendation to eat some delicious chicken. The charm of the restaurant is as rustic as the charm of the service, but basically okay. The food came quickly, chicken tasted quite good, but not as great as the recommendation said. The fries are okay, but the portion could be a little larger. The prices are also okay. All in all it's okay and I'll definitely come back again...

Here you can still get something to eat when other kitchens are already closed. Chicken and schnitzel were delicious. Thanks

Best chicken in town! Price/performance is fair and the waitresses are nice.

We wanted to eat something in the Südklause shortly after 8 p.m. on a weekday. We came in and an annoyed waitress came towards us and didn't pay any attention to us. We sat at a table, the menus were already there. Many of the tables hadn't been cleared yet, the dirty plates were still there, only the guests had already left, so I already suspected that the food wouldn't work. We waited for a while, no one came, only other guests left. We then left again without even looking at each other, terrible!!!

Super Essen für Liebhaber des rustikalen Oldschool. Bin jedesmal begeistert. Sogar Duckstein vom Fass wenn man mal kein Pils trinken will. Ehrlicher und direkter Charme zeichnet das Service Personal aus. Bleibt wie ihr seid.

Super netter Service. Wir hatten zwar nur Suppe und Salat, aber die Suppe war selbst gemacht und super lecker.

Super freundliche und flotte Bedienung, man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Neben Hähnchen und Schintzel gibt es auch eine vegetarische Alternative. DIe Pommes sind super und kommen mit großzügig Ketchup/Mayo. Besonders lecker (und knusprig!) sind die Süßkartoffelpommes!

Immer wieder eine emotionale Reise in die Vergangenheit: sieht noch genauso aus wie damals in den 60ern, als ich als kleiner Steppke mit meinen Eltern da war, Und die Hähnchen sind unschlagbar!

This place is simply amazing. I went there with my friends and none of us spoke german but the waitress was very kind and helpful. It was honestly the best service experience we ever had. The food is absolutely delicious and the price is pretty affordable. We would suggest many people to go there.

Eine typische Knajpe in der man am Stammtisch plaudern und Karten spielen kann. Das Wochenmenü ist Hausmannskost, günstig und gut.

Im Grunde ein Imbiss mit Sitzplätzen. Hähnchen OK aber mit sieben Euro für ein halbes überteuert. Schnitzel klein und TK Ware, mega fettig, mit 14 Euro sehr teuer. Und was hat Curry auf einem Bauernschnitzel mit Zwiebeln zu suchen? Service nett und flott.

As it always has been. Not been here in a while had take aways but not regretted coming back for a meal in here again.

Immer noch die besten Hänchen Hildesheims, PS: Pommes am besten nur zum vor Ort verzehr bestellen, werden in der beschichteten Hänchen Tüte innerhalb von Minuten weich.

Als ich noch in Hildesheim - Marienburger Höhe wohnte, aß ich öfters ein Hähnchen in der Südklause. Ich mag die Hähnchen sehr gerne. Wenn ich mal wieder in der Nähe bin, werde ich mir mal wieder ein Hähnchen gönnen. Besten Gruß
