Great location, great ambience, very full but not overcrowded, great selection of food stalls, short queues, great service, delicious street food

Discovered somewhat by chance and at the last minute (thanks to a tip from the Italian guides of Guide in tour), it was a fun experience that allowed us to discover new foods from all countries. Attention, some stands close before the scheduled 10pm.

This covered market, Markthalle, is really good for those who like street food. Open only Thursday evenings. It's a very busy place!

A very special place, lots of culinary delights, lots of vegan options – simply a dream. Other German cities should also copy this concept. Everything is super tasty, fresh and also authentic. I can recommend the vegan pistachio ice cream!

Not bad, but might be overcrowded

Street Food Thursday promises a wide variety of different snacks from all over the world. Accordingly, it is quite crowded in the market hall and also hot in summer, as the hall does not seem to be air-conditioned. Since the stands are mostly small, the waiting time is sometimes quite long. At around 7:30 p.m. the tacos were already about 20 minutes after ordering. If you're traveling with a group, you can quickly get lost if everyone doesn't stop and wait at the same stands. In terms of price, the dishes are offered at the upper end of the street food scale.

A must if you are visiting Berlin! A selection of food, drinks, and sweets that cater to everyone. Worth noting that it’s good to get there early (especially if you want the tteokbokki) as it gets super busy. Also, be aware that if it is a hot day, it will be extremely hot in there. Try whatever you want, we had tacos, which were good and the tteokbokki, which we really enjoyed. Don’t forget to bring cash as some places only take cash!

Great selection of food from all kinds of countries, just great. I also liked the option of being able to pay by card anywhere (if I wanted to)...

Huge market and some really good options! Would definitely recommend the manti stand! But also be mindful that you may not find a table to eat on as it is packed especially in summer

very full and warm Delicious food and a chilled atmosphere

Different stalls with different cuisines that many people probably don't know. However, prices are already higher. I would have liked more of a selection of small portions so that you could taste the different countries. However, some offer portions so that you are finished after one meal. Worth a visit. It was also very well attended.

Cool location in any case. But now it's completely overcrowded, especially for this occasion. As a “local” it’s no longer interesting. Prices unreasonable for my taste.

Regularly changing street food Definitely very tasty and it makes an authentic impression. The real challenge is eating the delicacies. The few seats available are heavily occupied so you have to eat standing somewhere in the crowd.

It's hard to say whether I'm becoming harder to impress as the years go by, or whether the offering is simply below its potential. Feels like too much pasta. Otherwise usual offer. Then at prices that almost drive you to crime.

We liked it very much. Lots of different stalls with food from different countries. We liked the African stand best. Yam with rice and Chinese crepes. More seating/standing space would be great.

Super cool market with street food on Thursdays. We went for lunch time and it was quite empty- lots of spots to sit, and enjoy your meal. At 4pm the shops that were closed started to open and the market got a bit more crowded. A little overpriced but food was very good and lots of variety!

Insgesamt finde ich den Street Food Thursday sehr gut gelungen. Man hat tolle Möglichkeiten unterschiedliche kulinarische Gerichte zu probieren. Die Preise sind zwar nicht ohne, also nicht sehr günstig aber es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Absolut zu empfehlen.

Kullinarisch wird sehr viel geboten für alle was da.

Great place to eat, drink and chill. Lively atmosphere, many tasty food options for normal prices. Would definitely recommend going here for a drink or bite!

An exciting place that surely is worth the hype. Has a large variety of cuisines and food representing various cultures. Is it crowded? Yes ofcourse Is it noisy? 100% Is it overpriced? To a certain extent, yes! But I don’t think you can expect it to not be so considering how much this spot is hyped as a “do not miss” event in Berlin. Overall, I suggest you do check it out when you can just for the experience

Really fun, must-do activity while in Berlin. Wide selection of international and German stalls. We had Tibetan, Indian, Argentine, Korean, Italian, and German beers. But there’s so many more cuisines to choose from! You need cash on you. Most stalls range in price from 5€ - 10€. Some more than that. There are toilets available but they aren’t great. Pretty crowded but manageable overall. It’s a really fun thing to experience!

Super crowded with no place to sit. The food is very overpriced. It's worth going to check out but not too actually eat a full dinner there. It is very English friendly though.

Die Markthalle 9 ist an sich schon sehr zu empfehlen, der Street Food Thursday ist herausragend. Leider ist es nicht an jedem Stand möglich digital zu zahlen.

Touristenfalle - Unbedingt meiden. Kleine Portionen, überhöhte Preise, überfüllt, reine Abzocke. Proll-Schwabentreff, hat mit Kreuzberg nix zu tun.

It was a nice experience, but it’s was surprisingly smaller than I expected and the variety of food was also less than imagining. Many stands only accept cash. I had Tibetan momo (pan-fried dumplings, two with lamb and one with vegetables. They also have steamed ones). One portion contained three dumplings and it cost 10€. I didn’t know it’s possible to just buy one or two which then cost 4€ per momo. I loved the meat momo. It was delicious and the spicy sauce was great. I also had the Chinese crepe. I had the classic one. It was crepe with two eggs, crispy chips made of flour and sauce. I saw many people had it and it looked great. However, I didn’t like it. The portion was big for 8,5€. I didn’t have any additional toppings. For me personally it tasted boring. Maybe if you have extra toppings, the whole crepe would have tasted better with different flavors than just some sort of soggy wrap with soy sauce flavor. I felt bad for putting half of it to the trash bin, but I really couldn’t finish it. Felt like consuming useless calories

It’s a Berlin thing to complain about the bourgeois tourists, so I will do that. There are a lot of bourgeois tourists. But there are also people like myself (broke, third-worldlist, alone) who are looking for an interesting bite. I wasn’t disappointed— I got a free samples here and there (I’m cute) and opted for a giant Indonesian bun accompanied by a Tonka bean ice cream. Mmmhm money.

The whole experience was mind-blowing! Thousands of dishes to choose from that can take you to another continent. The place was very crowdy, but this is another evidence of how successful STREET FOOD THURSDAY is! The prices are quite high, but you pay for the whole experience :)))

Donnerstags ab 17 Uhr gibt's in der kultigen Markthalle jede Menge Streetfood zu entdecken. Von mir zu empfehlen sind bisher "Mantis" kleine Teigtaschen und die Bangs von "Son Kitchen" (die auch 2 Läden in Berlin haben). Wir kommen gerne wieder und probieren uns weiter durch das tolle Angebot.

If you're in Berlin on a Thursday, you must check this place out! We had a variety of foods, all delicious, but maybe best of all were the empanadas (surprisingly)! The atmosphere is very cool and although it's a bit far from city center, it's truly worth the uber/bahn ride!!

Leider nicht mehr das was es einmal war,irgendwie gefühlt an jedem Stand ähnliches Essen zu sehr überteuerten Preisen.Schade ,früher war es echt ein Erlebnis.Beim nächsten Berlinbesuch zieht uns da nichts mehr hin.

This is a great food market! It's hot inside the building and definitely popular, but the food options are endless. Seating options are a bit limited. Serving sizes are quite generous. I had spicy tteokbokki and ice cream for dessert. I loved it!

Einfach nur lecker, mega spannend wie die verschiedenen Kulturen zusammenfliessen. Lauter leckeres Essen! Sehr empfehlenswert.

When I saw inside the house first time I told my company: “wow, a lot of people” 😎 When I got inside: food from here and food from there, interesting! 😍😘 but my company didn’t say oh it was good quit the opozit- yst and macaronis not for me she said. But I was made a happy man when I went to the toilet and the man said go for free 🙂

Disappointing. Highly overrated market. Way too crowded, a tourist trap and overpriced for Berlin.

Früher ging es hier innovativ zu, der Street Food Thursday war eine Schmiede für neue Fast-Food-Ideen. Jetzt sind die meisten Stände fest und wenig originell, alles ist professionalisiert. Herzlichkeit sucht man vergebens. Die Preise sind hoch. Touristen unter sich, nichts für Einheimische.

Markthallencharm trifft kulinarische Vielfalt trifft es glaube ich am besten. Hier gibt es zahlreiche Streetfoodstände aus vielen Ländern der ganzen Welt. Die meisten Stände sind fast jeden Donnerstag da, aber der ein oder andere neue Stand lässt sich immer entdecken. Besonders zu empfehlen sind die Cannoli, nicht verwechseln mit den Nudeln 😉, oder die türkischen Manti sind echt klasse. Es gibt hier auch diverse Bars an denen man leckere alkoholische und alkoholfreie Getränke bekommt.

This place is amazing and arguably the place with the best street food in Germany. Is located in a bohemian neighborhood, people is young and cool, the food that I tried was delicious, far off from anything else you can eat usually in Germany. If you want to try something different and delicious in a informal way, you definitely gotta go there

I absolutely love this place, it’s actually one of the reasons i came to visit berlin this time. I tried quite a lot of different cuisines but obviously i didn’t get to try them all. The Manti and the moroccan Tajin are mouthwatering! If you are in Berlin on a Thursday you must go there

Ein absolutes Highlight im Dicken B oben an der Spree. In dem denkmalgeschützten Gebäude, dass garantiert schon bessere Zeiten erlebt hat, werden des Besuchers Sinne von Leckereien aus meiner Meinung nach mindestens 5 Kontinenten betört. Mich würde auch nicht wundern, wenn eine der vielen Weinflaschen aus Australien importiert wurde. Da die Portionen ordentlich sind, konnte ich an dem Abend lediglich 2 Köstlichkeiten verkosten. Beim Anblick der Menge der Butter, die beim Kaiserschmarrn zum Einsatz kam, war mir ein wenig bange um meine Herzkranzgefäße. Faszinierend auch, dass dort Besucher vieler Herrinnen Länder anzutreffen waren. Ein Schmunzeln bereitete mir der Anblick des noch offenen Drogeriemarktes.

Sehr voll (viel junges, internationales Publikum), kaum Sitzgelegenheiten und ganz schön gesalzene Preise bei eher durchschnittlichem Essen. Insgesamt zwar mal einen Besuch wert, mehr aber auch nicht.

It was a pleasant mix of various foods and had fun trying them out. Also, paid with card but there were places where you had to pay with cash but there’s an ATM just opposite the Markthalle.

We loved the thursday food market - a must if you are visiting Berlin. The food, the atmosphere, the wine were all brilliant! It was a perfect start to our evening before a concert in the mercedes arena walking distance away. Enjoyed Moroccan, Italian, German food. Chinese, indian and more. Great selection.

A must-go place in Berlin to try multicultural street food. The beer there is amazing, but a bit expensive.

Honestly a wonderful place to hang out with a good atmosphere. Prices are quite high for many stalls but drink prices are really good. Not the easiest to find a seat to be honest. Tried a few stalls. Some of them were amazing and would return quite often. Others were pretty underwhelming for the price to put it nicely.

Hidden gem! We didn't really like the area around the market, but it's like Narnia walking in here! Definitely worth going, there's plenty of food options and a bar in there. We went for the Chinese pancakes which were delicious. Plenty of vegetarian options.

Very popular spot for tourists and locals. Lots of different dishes on offer as well as wine and beer to complement your meal. Bring cash as some stalls don't have card facilities. Stalls dedicated to vegetarian food as well, so something to suit everyone.

Jeden Donnerstag gibt es eine Streetfood Veranstaltung in der Markthalle Neun! Wirklich eine tolle Stimmung mit großer Auswahl an allerlei Spezialitäten aus der ganzen Welt! Überall gibt es kleine überschaubare Leckereien, sodass man an mehreren Ständen futtern kann! Die allgäuer Käsespätzle waren wirklich spitze! Direkt frisch zubereitet und toll gewürzt! Sollte man probieren!

Wir sind zufällig Donnerstag Abend vorbeigelaufen und waren fasziniert von der Auswahl an Essen und der Größe der Halle. Es ist wirklich für jeden Geschmack was dabei und man kann such in der Halle schön hinsetzen und die Atmosphäre genießen. Selbst wenn man gerade keinen Hunger hat lohnt sich ein Besuch, da es auch eine kleine Supermarkt Ecke sowie eine Bäckerei gibt, bei der man sich gut auch etwas für die nächsten Tage holen kann.

Awesome little food stalls but quite pricey. Went there for the first time in 2017. Came back for the first time since then in 2022 and place was still buzzing! Nevertheless quite expensive…

Absolutely no food for sale on Street food Thursday. There was only a small mart, and another stall selling meat. Disappointed. Only consolation was a stall selling craft beers called Heiden Peters 12-8pm

Eine Institution am Donnerstagabend. In gewohntem Anstrich ohne Abstriche. Gutes Essen und nice Drinks bei guter Laune in historischem Ambiente. Immer einen Besuch wert.

Street Food Thursdays are a good way to pig out in the city after a long day. Good selection of all sorts of food and drink from around the world. To be honest, the food isn’t the most authentic - but decent enough. I particularly liked the cheese platter and Chinese bao stalls. A nice place to socialise with friends. Things can get pretty pricey though and you might end up spending more money than you initially budgeted for!

Great atmosphere and a huge variety of interesting, delicious dishes from all over the world!

Foodie heaven - loads of different cuisines to try with reasonable prices. Lots of good wine, cocktails and beer too. Only criticism is how crowded it is which is hardly surprising given it's only open late one night a week but this did make it harder to enjoy especially as there is no where near enough seating.

Street food is a great venue to visit on a Thursday evening. There are lots of varied cuisines to try, many different beers and a large selection of wines. The crowd is unusually multicultural for Berlin and the hall has a friendly lively buzz about it. We tried beef rendang from a Vietnamese store and it was superb. Well worth the commute from wherever you are in Berlin

Absolutely amazing, one of the best experiences at a food market. So much to choose from and great drinks. The atmosphere and people made this place. Just make sure you go on Thursday when it is open until 10pm. Other days are only open until 6pm.

Street Food Thursdays are an absolute must for anyone visiting Berlin. Diverse, freshing made offerings as well as local beer and wine at a reasonable price. The weekly vendors are posted to their Facebook page. Highly recommended.

Zeker leuk om in de avond te proeven en om te eten en drinken

Świetne miejsce dla młodych osób chcących dobrze zjeść (świeże jedzenie) i się napić (kraftowe piwo). Świetna atmosfera i przemyślane miejsce (wszystko mieści się w starych garażach pociągów).
