Strandlöper in Cuxhaven

Unfriendly reception, inflexible, we were not accepted as a group of 6 adults (one with a walker).

The food was very good, plentiful, and reasonably priced. The selection was also very extensive. The service was fast and very, very friendly. This definitely won't be our last time there.

Yesssssss, the service was friendly and prompt. It was just a shame that there's a fireplace, but it wasn't lit despite the cold. The hunter's schnitzel I ordered was reasonably priced, but the hunter's sauce seems to have never been heard of by a hunter. All in all (regarding the schnitzels), sometimes less is more!

We went without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. The menu is straightforward, the dining room simple but very cozy and very clean, the covered terrace is heated and has a fireplace in the evenings. Dogs are not a problem. We had two freshly prepared fish dishes. Not frozen, just fresh fish!!! Succulent, very tasty, and generous portions. Fried potatoes made from fresh potatoes and fresh salads. We were so satisfied that we returned the next day with guests. There were more fish dishes, delicious gyros, and a juicy, crispy duck breast with Asian-style vegetables. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was very professional, unobtrusive, and courteous. For this more than satisfactory overall package, the price in this location is almost too reasonable! We will definitely be back the next time we visit Sahlenburg!!!

This was our second time here and, just like the first time, we were very, very satisfied. The two young waitresses deserve high praise; they were extremely friendly and accommodating. We will definitely recommend you to friends and acquaintances and will definitely be back. The chef knows his craft perfectly.

Unbeatable value for money, very good food, extremely friendly service

I had pollock fillet with boiled potatoes and hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately, the fish, reheated from the microwave, was very hard and dry around the edges; there was no crispy coating like it would have been from a pan, and it was only lukewarm. Very friendly service and delicious food.

Very good value for money. Friendly, unobtrusive service, good food, large portions. We enjoyed the spicy duck (not too spicy), pan-fried gyros, redfish, and schnitzel; everything was served warm. 6 days of vacation, including 4 times at the Strandlöper, we ate and drank very well. Highly recommended.

We were very pleased with the room; it was beautifully furnished. The hosts were also very friendly, always approachable, and competent. The food in the restaurant is also very good, and the service is friendly. It's close to the beach, and you can go to the bakery next door for breakfast. We can only praise the beach runner; they do a great job. Parking is also available behind the house. I highly recommend eating here. We were there today, and it was truly delicious. 😋 The portion was just too large for me personally, but that's often the case for me. The price/performance ratio is definitely good. We didn't have to wait long for service, drinks, or food. Everything was perfect for us. We'll be back.

Absolutely, I highly recommend this place. The service is extremely prompt and the staff very friendly. 😊🙏👍 Furthermore, the food is extremely tasty 😋, and there's no need to worry about the portion sizes, as they are more than ample; we've never left the restaurant hungry. 🍽️💯🥳 By the way, the dish with the fried potatoes is a senior citizen's plate.

We sat in the restaurant and had to wait a long time for service. However, after ordering, we were served promptly. It was so incredibly loud in this restaurant that it was a relief to leave.

All in all, I think it was pretty good here. The staff was very friendly and the food was solid. Despite the region, the prices were reasonable and quite reasonable. It could have been a bit quicker, and the fries were unfortunately not warm enough. The mayo could have been a bit better, and if I were in northern Germany, I'd prefer a local beer rather than one from the Sauerland region. Still, a definite recommendation.

We were there last year during the summer and fall holidays and this year during the summer holidays. Delicious food, great service. (The only important thing is to reserve a table. If not, they will try their best to accommodate you.) We'd be happy to go back anytime.

An email inquiry in advance (whether dogs were allowed) was answered promptly. We arrived 40 minutes before closing time for lunch because we had misread the name, but we still received extremely friendly and helpful service. We thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes. Highly recommended.

After three days of eating fish, I decided to have garlic duck at Strandlöper today. What can I say, the duck was crispy and beautifully juicy 👌 The service was first-class. Definitely a recommendation 👍😃

Three adults went there today for dinner outside on the terrace. We had the herring with fried potatoes, the fried herring with fried potatoes, and the cordon bleu with fries and hollandaise sauce. Everything was fresh and delicious. The value for money for Sahlenburg, right on the beach, was more than just excellent. The service was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation.

A nice little guesthouse with very friendly hosts! Absolutely fantastic value for money. The rooms are tastefully decorated in a maritime style. Unfortunately, there are hardly any dishes without meat or fish, which is a bit of a shame for vegetarians.

Strandlöper is our first choice. The highlight of this year's vacation was the little, wonderful treat for my husband's 60th birthday. Great location. We'd be happy to come back.

I absolutely cannot understand many of the negative reviews. I have been a guest at the Strandlöper again and again over the past 15 years and have never been disappointed. Year after year, I was recognized and given a very warm welcome. Time was taken on every visit, requests were considered, and questions were properly explained and answered. The service was always excellent and NEVER hectic or dismissive. The Strandlöper is one of the few restaurants where you feel at home if you go there frequently. We were there again today. They even brought us the menu for ice cream 8 minutes before closing. Any other restaurant would have been hectic and turned us away. The food is always warm/hot – filling and tastes fresh. The prices are reasonable for the quantity, the location is relaxing after a long day at the beach, and the extremely friendly and prompt service always makes me want to go there again. I just miss the fried noodles and the accompanying fried rice from a few years ago; it was always the absolute highlight ☝️ The Strandlöper is cozy and good 🌊🫶

The food tasted good, I had pollock with fried potatoes. Drinks supply great. However, we sat at the huge sliding door to the smoking area, which was constantly being pushed open and closed, which I found unpleasant as a non-smoker. Also: my friend had reserved for 3 people, but 2 people arrived at short notice. When we arrived at the restaurant, the young waitress reprimanded us as to whether we could have called. There is still some room for improvement when it comes to customer friendliness...

It looks a bit unassuming from the outside, but the food and service are really great.

We ate here today on vacation. The waitress knew the entire order by heart and was very accommodating. We had a super delicious meal with large portions. Price performance is great. I can only recommend the restaurant.

I ate schnitzel there. The meat wasn't special. The schnitzels at the next table looked exactly the same. Hence my guess that it is molded meat. Pre-fried and warmed in the deep fryer. Completely overpriced or poor quality for the price. Unfortunately disappointing. The service was quick but there was no question as to whether everything was OK.

Really tasty schnitzel, no sticky crap. Had Balkan schnitzel with fries. Price performance great. Service very nice. I'll eat there again. A tip: if you want to go with more than 2 people, make a reservation.

We had a delicious meal at Strandlöper today. We found it very positive that the schnitzels are still made correctly. It's not molded meat, like in many restaurants up here that charge far more money. For 3 people with a main course and a 0.5 liter drink, we paid just under 60 euros and were very satisfied.

Nice fish restaurant near the promenade. Dogs are welcome, the dog beach is nearby. Good place for a nice dinner after a day at the sea.

We had dinner at Strandlöper during our short vacation. We didn't make a reservation (which is recommended) nor did we get a table. The service was very good and the waitress was very attentive. The food was very good. The price-performance ratio is unbeatable. We'd love to come back.

We got a table without booking in advance. There was a lot to do. Due to staff shortages, it was pointed out that it would take some time. After an hour we had very tasty food and were completely satisfied. 😀

You will be served friendly and quickly by a young man with Asian roots. In addition to the fish and meat dishes that are common here on the beach, dishes from Asian cuisine are also offered. This time I decided on a schnitzel with a fried egg and not, as stated on the menu, with croquettes and hollandaise sauce but with fried potatoes. Wasn't the fulfillment. The schnitzel was more than crispy (even burnt in small parts) and dry. The fried potatoes only saw the pan for a very short time after cooking. So the fried eggs and vegetables were edible. For me this means saying goodbye to the “Strandlöper”. I go out to eat in other restaurants on Sahlenburger Strand.

We visited Schietwtter with our motorhome in Sahlenburg in the fall. The first refuge was the beach lion. There is very tasty eggnog there. The restaurant is very nice. You can even sit by the fireplace in the 'winter garden'. The staff is really friendly and the food was simply delicious. We would like to come again.

On the last evening of the vacation we ordered takeaway from the restaurant. Everything worked wonderfully and the food was excellent. I haven't eaten such good duck in a long time. We'd love to come back.

Super Imbiss, leckeres Essen und ein sehr nette und freundliche Bedienung. Für Raucher gibt es hier einen gesonderten, beheizten, gut gelüfteten und überdachten Bereich. Preis/Leistung ist top. Meine Frau hatte die Folienkartoffel mit Salat und ich das Balkan Schnitzel wir beide waren mehr als zufrieden. Folgende Biere werden hier ausgeschenkt: Veltins und Duckstein.. Gerne kommen wir hierhin zurück.👍🏻

Reichlich Auswahl an essen, ob Steak oder deutsche Küche, sogar asiatische Küche alles dabei. Sehr gemütliche Lokation, super Preis Leistung und freundliche Bedienung. Besonders lecker war der Nachtisch.

Auffallend freundliche und um den Gast bemühte Bedienung, als Gast fühlt man sich sehr gewertschätzt. Da können sich andere mal eine Scheibe von abschneiden. Essen wie immer super lecker und ausreichend große Portionen. Zwar kein Strandblick aber dafür sitzt man hier nicht im Wind und friert. Für uns das beste Restaurant in Sahlenburg.

Wie jedes Jahr im Urlaub führt unser erster Weg zum Strandlöpper und reservieren einen Tisch, sowie am letzten Tag ( natürlich dazwischen auch ). Ich kann dieses Restaurant vom ganzen Herzen weiterempfehlen! Das Personal ist super lieb und mega freundlich. Der Service, die Portionen und das Essen ist Hervorragend. Mein Absolutes Lieblings Restaurant!!! Seit 5 Jahren kommen wir schon hier her und fühlen uns dort immer wärmstens Willkommen.
