Beach House - Restaurant, Cafe, Bar in Cuxhaven

We were on holiday in Cuxhaven for two weeks and the Beach House was practically around the corner. The prices are a bit more expensive, but with this view and the location it's completely okay. In terms of taste, we weren't disappointed once in our 5 visits. No matter whether it was fish, burgers, bowls, schnitzels etc. it was always good. Personally, I thought the chicken burger was absolutely delicious! The service was always friendly and damn attentive. There was also a high chair for our offspring. The bistro next door is perfect for a “quick” snack or coffee to take away.

Today I was here for the second time since the change in operator/ownership. Everything looks very inviting. The food was good. The salmon fillet was served to me personally by the boss. A really nice big piece. Otherwise I was served by a very nice young woman. Thank you for this great kindness. For dessert I ate Kaiserschmarrn. It was really good; I wouldn't have expected that. I drank two types of wine. They were okay too. Silvaner and Nero d'Avola. I had a good time there and recommend it.

Right on the beach, friendly staff and delicious food. Portions really big. There is the option to sit inside, in the winter garden or outside. Fast service, dog friendly.

I ate a portion of fried fish here in the bistro. Quality and taste were good. Unfortunately, the bistro's tables are a bit out of the way. If you want to have more choice of food and see something of the beach, you should eat in the restaurant.

The restaurant is in a great location, right at the entrance to the beach and you can see the sunset in the evening. We liked the food so much that we only ate there on our weekend. Good quality, everything freshly prepared. Very nice service, despite the full outdoor area. We'd love to come back!

The Kaiserschmarrn was very tasty, the service outside was a bit slow and the tables were a bit dingy. But the view of the sea trumps the negative.

During a break on a tour, we were guests in the outdoor area of ​​the Beach House. Self-service is the order of the day here, and we were greeted warmly when we ordered. The typical dishes (currywurst, nuggets, fries, various fish rolls, etc.) for this type of gastronomy are offered here. This also needs to be evaluated and it was very good. Both the fries and the nuggets were just right. The fried fish rolls were plentiful and tasty. The prices were okay for the location, as were the drinks. All in all, a perfect location for a short break, therefore full stars.

We ended up here for lunch. Great ambience, beautiful views and cozy outdoor spaces. The service was very good. The food, especially the fish, was a little underseasoned for our taste. This is of course a matter of taste. After we added a little salt and pepper, everything was fine.

We were in the winter garden of the Beach House on Friday evening. The service was very friendly, attentive and quick. All extra requests such as extra crispy fried potatoes, Lillet without fruit and blankets when it got cooler were fulfilled. We quickly came into contact with Björn personally and immediately had a great recommendation for the rest of the evening. (Björn’s Paulaner Keller) Unfortunately it was low tide, so we can only give it 6.5 out of 5 stars at this point 😂😂😂 We had a really good time and the evening was rounded off with a fun jaunt along the promenade. 🤪 The 3 Angels for Charlie would love to come back 🥳🥳

We were there as a group today. We arrived and I was told straight away by the waiter that I should please park my stroller away from the table by the ashtrays. For food we had 2x fish & chips, 1x currywurst and 1x the house plate; all dishes with fries. The fries were unseasoned and dry. They tasted like sausage, so you can assume that all dishes are fried in the same fat. The mayonnaise bottle standing on the table in the sun was empty. We had to get another one from the next table. The fish was coated in an extremely thick breading that was fried far too dark. My mother had a hair on the fish. The currywurst didn't taste good either. My apple spritzer was stale. The house plate costs €25. 3 pieces of fish were carelessly thrown onto the plate, the side salad was just decoration. Here you get maximum snack quality at upscale restaurant prices. But what annoys me the most is that I asked if my 10-month-old daughter could have a small potato. The menu lists the baked potato with sour cream as a side dish. I would have gladly taken this and paid extra. The waiter said that this potato is only available in conjunction with a main course. He suggested buying a baked potato with herb quark as an adult meal for my baby. I find that really bizarre. We won't be visiting the store again.

Beach house restaurant main vibe is seating at the dawn and watching the sunset on the horizon while sipping your favourite beverage 😉 I had a vegan burger which was okay and also the staff were quite helpful.

The bistro team (visited on September 7th, 2024) is super friendly. The fries were excellent, crispy and tasty. Recommendation!

You can get everything here, not just fish. I tried several things, fish, schnitzel, burgers, fries, fried potatoes, boiled potatoes. I like to come back every year! Service is TOP!

My review is limited to the bistro. I can't say anything about the restaurant. The food is really disgusting, but grossly overpriced. Fish rolls are completely carelessly topped with minimal sauce. Lettuce leaves or onions are completely missing. The fish cakes are most likely frozen ready-made products. Basically everything comes from the deep fryer. Even the sausages for the currywurst are deep-fried. And what you get is also too salty. There are other bistros here on the beach with much better food at cheaper prices. Next time we'd rather walk a few hundred meters further. The service wasn't unfriendly, but it was completely unmotivated.

Update 2024 Unfortunately, the bistro doesn't convince us either. Drinks, snacks and ice cream are very expensive. The fried fried fish roll costs 7 euros. The little beer 4! 2023: Location and view are really great. But unfortunately you also pay for that. A small plate of simple, almost unseasoned pasta with spinach cream sauce 15 euros! The burger was ok but nothing special. Unfortunately, the food is not price-performance ratio at all. The service staff were all friendly. I would come back for a drink. Definitely not for a meal.

So I don't want to be petty, the waiter looks Japanese, I drink a white wine, he wants to pay, he says €8 for a 0.2 Riesling, I give him €10 and he says thank you and moves on🤔 and there was no paper in the toilet That didn't work either... the store used to be called Berens and it was great.

Unfortunately no recommendation despite delicious food. The young Keller who served table 45 today has obviously not heard the term “service”. Very disappointing. When ordering, we asked that enough SoureCream be served with the potato. He said this wasn't necessary & of course it wasn't enough. When asked to bring a little more, he said it would cost extra. With a price of €23 for the potato with crayfish, I definitely expected that 1 spoonful of SoureCream should be manageable. I asked him to clarify this with his superior. The SoureCream arrived - without comment. Only after payment did we receive the invoice - surprise - the SoureCream had now been charged. Outrageous. Thanks to the service we won't come back, even if the food was tasty. Too bad!

I went to dinner with my two kids today. The service was great and very friendly to the children. The food was very tasty and sufficient. The schnitzel for the children was freshly breaded and not a conventional frozen schnitzel. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come back. If I had to criticize something, it would be the temperatures inside, but that's really complaining at a high level. Thanks to the friendly staff!

Good food with a view of the North Sea. After a long walk we treated ourselves to a break at the Beach House. Selected fish dishes were very tasty.

We wanted to reserve a table at 6 p.m. - which was only possible at 5 p.m. - even though there were a lot of seats available at 6 p.m. The pasta with spinach was totally overcooked. Among other things, we ordered crabs with fried potatoes and a fried egg - we got crabs with baked potatoes The salad crunches from all the sand. Probably okay for drinking coffee - but not for eating out. Behrens was 1000x better!

Absolute recommendation 👍🏻! Of course it's a little more expensive, but it's a great location. The food and long drinks were very tasty and the service was great 🔝! As far as we could observe, everything was done to accommodate the guests. We'd love to come back!

I was in the restaurant twice and found the staff to be below all standards (listless and unprofessional). One evening I entered the restaurant and simply wanted to postpone a reservation for an hour. 3 waitresses were talking to each other and no one wanted to deal with my request. I asked one of the seated waiters to please stand up and come to me and the reservation book. He replied to me in a harsh tone, what do you want!!! I would have preferred to cancel the reservation completely. My request was then handled with difficulty. Today we were there again and the next blast. I asked for a small 0.1 liter. Glas of wine. The waiter's brusque answer: "No, that doesn't exist here. You only get a small glass if you first order a 0.2 liter glass." Impossible! I have never received such a stupid and cheeky answer in a restaurant.

You should definitely stop by here. It's definitely worth it and offers something for every taste when it comes to eating, drinking (or just relaxing with little things)! Beach bar and restaurant located directly on the beach with an unbeatable location for sundowners! The menu is extensive with a wide and delicious selection. Drinks, wine & cocktails etc. same selection. The food is impeccable in terms of quality, preparation, taste and quantity. A flower picking for the senses and especially the palate. Went there with 5 people, 2x schnitzel (great quality and taste. Preparation to the point), shrimp pans (also great), Kaiserschmarrn (really tasty, pure sin) and chicken cordon bleu. Service is really on point and everyone helps at full speed where they can without generating chaos. Strongly attended! Price and performance are absolutely ok. Plenty of space inside and outside.

Sat down at a table to have a beer. Waited ten minutes and no one came to take my order. Around me, other tables with new guests were also being served. I then left without ordering. A pity

Great location/view and attentive service. We only shared a few vegan and vegetarian snacks because we were just a little hungry. However, we found other dishes on the menu that appealed to us. Definitely going to remember it for next time :)

Unfortunately the food wasn't tasty. Fries were very salty and chicken chips needed some more color. 9.50 is not exactly a small amount for a small portion. Service was very nice.

All in all, pretty cool. Pasta with spinach cream sauce tasted great, but cooked a little too long, the pasta was a bit very soft. The fish house plate was really great and the tartar sauce was definitely homemade. The three different types of fish were on point and the fried potatoes were also great. The service could be a little more attentive, sometimes you had to make sure you caught someone to order a new drink. Unfortunately we sat in the winter garden because it was super full, so a point was deducted for ambience. The restaurant itself has a view of the sea. Also very important for us: No problem that we had our dog with us.

The restaurant used to be called Behrensen and was absolutely top notch anymore. Unfortunately, we've been here once and that's enough! 14 euros for a currywurst I can only say they didn't hear the bang! The location doesn't justify the prices either! Once and never again !!

The menu is more geared towards fast food, schnitzel, burgers, currywurst, fries, fried potatoes, salad, a few fish dishes, you can't go wrong, the prices are in the upper segment, the quiet, dignified atmosphere and the varied, high quality Unfortunately there isn't much left of the previous owner's menu! Some guests have already dubbed the location a “pub.” What a shame!

For decades this was the “Cafe Behrens” and was always well attended because it was located directly at the beach entrance. The location of this restaurant is brilliant, and visitors enjoy the view of the beach. A fast-food kiosk also tempts with cakes, drinks and quick small hot meals (sausage, French fries/fried potatoes) and ice cream, especially for families with children.

We spontaneously decided to visit the beach restaurant on a Friday evening in March and were more than thrilled! Despite a last-minute decision, we easily got a table for five people. Ambiance: The ambience of the restaurant is simply stunning. The stylish and modern furnishings combined with the fantastic sea view create an incomparable atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy is the cozy design, which guarantees a relaxed and pleasant evening. Service: The service was excellent. The staff was always friendly, attentive and quick. Our orders were taken quickly and the food and drinks arrived at our table in no time. What was particularly nice was that the plates were warm so that the food didn't cool down so quickly. The food: The absolute highlight, however, was the burger that I ordered. Juicy, perfectly grilled beef, fresh lettuce, crunchy cucumbers and a wonderfully spicy sauce made this burger a real taste experience. The fries served with it were crispy and well seasoned – just perfect! My companions were also very happy with their dishes, including the fried fish in beer batter and the veal Wiener schnitzel. Conclusion: The evening in the beach restaurant was a complete success. Not only did we enjoy delicious food, but also the wonderful views and pleasant ambience. Without question I will come back here on my next holiday and can highly recommend the restaurant to anyone who is in the area.

We come here 1 or 2 times every time on our vacation (or just to drink some wine (Pinot Gris...😜) .... every time we are thrilled with the food and service ... the atmosphere is also fantastic .... big thumbs up. ...keep it up!!!!!!!!
