The hotel has a beautiful location by the dunes. They serve a good breakfast. Very friendly staff. Tastefully furnished rooms. We would be happy to come back.

All I can say is: be careful! I had paid for my room in advance and was then asked to pay again, which I did in a rush, thinking it would all work out somehow. Unfortunately, there are no rules. I've been stuck with the double payment so far and have been waiting a month. My medical colleague Miriam Führ (also reviewed here) had the same problem. I consider this extremely unprofessional on the part of the hotel staff. Apparently, the hotel only exists to transfer customers' money into their own pockets. Not recommended! Since I come to Langeoog every year as a scientific director, I will avoid the hotel in the future and also discourage colleagues from booking a room there during the Week of Practical Medicine. I've had enough.

The hotel's location is great. It's close to the beach and easy to get to town. The rooms are modern and very clean. The rooftop pool is fantastic. I can't understand the criticism of the breakfast buffet; there should be something for everyone. There were no empty plates or bowls. We were very satisfied with everything. We can definitely recommend The Sandburg.

Nice, large room. Great bathroom. Everything was very clean. The staff was very attentive. The rooftop pool and bar are truly inviting, and you have a unique view of the sea and the sunset.

The Hotel Sandburg is a beautiful hotel. It's located right on the beach. If you prefer the pool, this is the place for you. The rooms are very well equipped. We felt very comfortable and would happily return.

A truly lovely hotel, but unfortunately, I had some bad luck with the service. When I asked for a mattress topper, they simply told me there was a hard and a soft side. I could flip the mattress over and try the other side. Upon departure, I was clearly asked to pay again for a room I had already paid for. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, four weeks later, I'm still waiting for my refund. At €240 per night, I expect more.

A beautiful, well-maintained hotel in a very good location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is rather limited and monotonous, and therefore not commensurate with the price. There are no towels at the pool, which I personally find inconvenient.

Beautiful location, modernly furnished with intelligence and style. Beautiful rooms with well thought out furnishings. All employees are very attentive, courteous and friendly. Casual atmosphere. Certainly especially on the entire island.

We were in the sand castle for the second time, this time with the whole family. And this time we didn't regret it either. It is a modern and beautiful hotel with great rooms, a beautiful sauna, a wonderfully quiet location (you can hear the sound of the sea when the window is open) and a delicious breakfast. We didn't use the restaurant, everything you need is within walking distance, so we were in the "town" in the evening. We again enjoyed the bar, where you can also have a comfortable stay. Not to forget: everyone was very accommodating, friendly and concerned about our well-being. In short: See you next year, hopefully with great weather again

We really enjoy coming here, great rooms, nice staff, great breakfast. The roof pool and the terraces (one on the roof) invite you to relax.

Very nice, cozy hotel with a lot of charm and attention to detail. The 3 days here were something special. Very cozy sauna... There is also attention to detail such as drinks, tea etc. So I really liked it.

This was our third time in the sand castle. Each time we had different room categories and this time too we were happy with the selection (although I would have preferred a shower). Room cleaning was great👍🏻. Breakfast as usual with a lot of choice and a perfect cheese omelette. The staff very service-oriented and friendly. I do have one small comment, however. I think it would be nice if you were “recognized” as a guest and I felt there was a bit of cordiality missing when checking in. But that's complaining at a high level, we'd love to come back to our favorite German island and also to the sand castle.

This is our third time in the sand castle, that speaks for itself. Very nice house, well-kept rooms, sensational roof terrace. This year I would like to give special praise to the staff. They feel the shortage of staff most acutely, have their hands full and are consistently friendly, helpful and service-oriented. This deserves the highest recognition! We would be happy to come back a fourth and more times.

Never again! I was in the sand castle with my daughter from August 15th to August 30th, 2024. There was little on offer for the price I paid. The beds were totally uncomfortable as the mattresses were badly worn out. The duvets were much too thick and summer blankets were not available. I also asked for a comfortable chair in the room before arrival, but this was not possible. The breakfast has little choice for vegetarians, on four days there was only cheap white baked rolls, no grain rolls and no bread and the fruit salad was very watery. The omelette and the pancakes were good. Otherwise, the same cheese and sausage for 14 days, variety is different. Some of the hotel's employees were rather unfriendly and gave you the feeling of being a nuisance, but the service staff at breakfast were usually very nice and helpful. The best thing about the hotel is the rooftop pool.

It was a very nice holiday with very friendly and helpful staff. The opportunity to have breakfast outside in the morning is always nice. It would be nice here if the tables were already set. Otherwise everything was perfect. We'd love to come back

We didn't stay in the sand castle, but we were guests on the great roof terrace or rooftop bar - which is also accessible to non-hotel guests. Wonderful view, great ambience and super nice service!! We definitely want to become hotel guests in the future!

I cannot recommend the Sandburg Rooftop Bar… Waiter says when you ask if we received our drinks…. You can go too. 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Modern hotel on the promenade, in the dunes, you can smell the clean sea air, simply wonderful. The highlight is the roof terrace with pool, overlooking the sea. What could be nicer than spending the evening in a beach chair after a beautiful day and watching the sunset with a cool drink!

We only used the roof terrace and didn't stay overnight here. That is possible . There are all kinds of cocktails. Good view of the sea. Pool for hotel guests only.

Dear Sandburg team, We stayed in the sand castle for 6 days and we really enjoyed it. The room was very nicely decorated and clean, the beds were very comfortable and there was enough storage space. The bathroom is also very well equipped and we particularly liked that the toilet was separate. I have never seen the super good facilities for our four-legged friend with 2 bowls, a large towel, a lounger and a fleece blanket like this in a hotel. Thank you for that! The breakfast was very rich and varied, the freshly baked bread was particularly great. I would have liked a few more vegetables, maybe also psyllium or linseed. Unfortunately we couldn't try out the rooftop pool because the weather was too bad and unfortunately we couldn't try out the rooftop bar either. Next time it will definitely work. The selection at the bar was great, the drinks were delicious and the prices were very moderate. A big compliment especially to the very kind and courteous staff!! I have two minimal suggestions for improvement: The flower pots in the entrance area were a bit sad because they had faded...so as a business card the very first impression was not quite optimal. The mobile refrigerator (thanks for that) only cooled at maximum level, so it was very loud and probably not very energy efficient. On Eco it only cooled to 15 degrees, unfortunately too warm for medication. Maybe real small refrigerators could help. All in all, we were very impressed and would love to come back. Wonderful short vacation in a beautiful hotel. Nice and quiet location, you can hear the sea when the window is open. Our room was spacious and had a balcony. The heated pool on the roof, the beautiful sauna, the fantastic breakfast buffet and the friendly, cheerful hotel team gave us some wonderful, relaxing days! Thanks❤️

Sehr schönes Hotel, netter Empfang. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet, mit Wassserkocher und Bücherauswahl! Das Frühstück war super, alles dabei, was man sich wünscht. Eier werden frisch zubereitet, sehr reichhaltig! Sehr nette und kompetente Mitarbeiter. Hygienemassnahmen wurden zu Corona Zeiten super umgesetzt!

Saubere Lokalität mit dem Charme und der Funktionalität eines Frühstücksrestaurants. Gewöhnliche Weinauswahl. Die in Butter ertränkte Scholle war leider ein Totalreinfall. Hier könnte sich der Koch Rat und Zubereitungshilfe aus der Kombüse 21 holen, dem besten Fischrestaurant der Insel, wo wir tags darauf von diesem Desaster mehr als entschädigt wurden. Der Service bedient sachlich-nüchtern, mit wenig Herzlichkeit. Man fühlt sich eher beobachtet als willkommen. In Zeiten des Fachkräftemangels muss man als Gast des Oogland möglicherweise damit klarkommen. In anderen Restaurants wurden wir allerdings entsprechend unserer Erwartungen bedient. Wir empfehlen, beim Servicepersonal der "Bunten Kuh" Tipps einzuholen. Der zahlende Gast ist noch immer König. Wir haben davon abgesehen, ein weiteres Mal im Hotelrestaurant zu speisen.

Ein tolles Hotel. Alles war topp . Wir wurden bei der Ankunft sehr herzlich mit einem Glas Sekt empfangen. Die freundliche Dame vom Empfang hatte uns sehr liebevoll willkommen heißen. Das Zimmer sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück mit frischen Backwaren , frischen Eierspeisen. Die Krabben im Glas unvergesslich. Aurora die sympathische Mitarbeiterin war sehr freundlich. Ein rundum toller Aufenthalt.

Schönes Rooftop, das ist alles. Schlechtes und absolut überteuertes Essen, sehr sehr langsamer Service. Leider nicht zu empfehlen

Fein abgestimmte Speisen zum Genießen...das Restaurant wird uns nächstes Jahr wieder sehen! Die Preise sind etwas höher angesiedelt, doch sie sind es wert...

Teile des Essens kommen als Convenience andere sind frisch zubereitet. Insgesamt in Ordnung aber ich finde nicht dem Standard des Hotels entsprechend.

Die Karte ist überschaubar, aber abwechslungsreich. Fisch, Fleisch, Wild, Vegetarisch alles dabei. Die Teller werden im offenen Küchenbereich fertig gestellt - so sieht man, wie liebevoll angerichtet wird
