For years, we've spent a few days at a spa during week 48 of the year to escape the end-of-year gloom. In recent years, we've always stayed at a large, highly regarded spa hotel south of Munich, which hosts a chamber music festival at that time. We did miss the music a bit at Villa Contessa. Apart from that, however, Villa Contessa is far superior to our usual hotel. We were particularly impressed by the exceptional attentiveness and friendliness of the staff, the outstanding quality of the cuisine, and the palpable care and attention given to the entire property. Great care is evident in every detail. The interior design is very elegant, though consistently dominated by white and gold – a matter of taste, but stylistically cohesive. Overall, a wonderful place for peace, enjoyment, and relaxation. We would love to return.
