Störtebeker Braugasthaus in Greifswald

Biggest letdown in months and we're out and about a lot, including to eat. The service was very polite and attentive, but the kitchen didn't have a single point. Lukewarm, unseasoned, far too fatty food. Just bad. It's a shame because we were there on a recommendation. Not again.

As the name suggests. Good food, good service, good beers. Pre-booked a table for dinner on Saturday.

We wanted to have a good lunch, but unfortunately there was only a "stripped down" daily menu until 4 p.m., so we were disappointed.

Great end to the day with fish soup and mushroom ragout and Störtebeker tasting set. It was super tasty. Always my pleasure.

Just one question: why is it at 4:53 p.m. (sat in the inn) that the card is no longer applicable until 5:00 p.m. and the food is no longer available. If black beer is ordered, black beer will be delivered. ?

Der Kartoffelstampf, die laut Service „beste Beilage des Hauses“, kam als matschige Pampe mit rohen Kartoffelscheiben. Ungenießbar! Dennoch wurde der volle Preis abkassiert. Leider absolut nicht empfehlenswert.

A typical brewery, very good food and friendly staff

Very friendly service, food was very good, unfortunately some of the potatoes were still very hard and the puree was a bit hard and chunky! We would still like to come back :-)

Went there for one or two Stördebecker and a small goulash soup. Although soup could have been served with a side dish. Would have easily been a normal goulash with spaetzle 😀 The beer is tasty and spicy. Tastes like more. Ambiance: In the bar area, clocky and cozy in the back area, rather modern (not for me). Toilets: Old meets modern. You have to take a look. Staff when I was there………. She definitely gets a tip. Without saying anything, she carried a walker down the stairs in the entrance area. Recommendation: you should definitely drink at least one beer here.

The Caspar David Friedrich Festival last Sunday was simply great. The people seemed relaxed and friendly, as did our waitress at the Störtebecker Brauhaus.

A nice gastro pub. As craft beer veterans, Störtebeker naturally has a fairly wide selection and the beer cocktails are also surprisingly good. The kitchen is also recommended, although the portions are slightly larger.

We have been coming to Greifswald regularly for three years now. For us it is an absolute must to stop at the brewery at least once. We would like to take this opportunity to pass on a BIG compliment to the entire team. In addition to always delicious food, the staff is always friendly, polite and very attentive. You rarely experience this kind of hospitality. Thank you for always having a great time with you. We'll definitely see each other again soon.

Just had a drink here. You sit directly on the market square. Large selection of freshly tapped beers. Friendly service.

Hot food only until 8 p.m. is a disgrace for the first restaurant on the square with exorbitant prices (excessively high).

I would love to write about the beer (which I know is great) or the food, but unfortunately that didn't happen. I arrived in Greifswald on Tuesday evening after a bike ride and came across the sign in front of the brewery that said “Open until 10 p.m., kitchen closes at 8 p.m.”; it was 7:54 p.m. Before I even sat down, I spoke to the waitress on the terrace to order food. After a disparaging look, I heard “The kitchen is already closed.” When she asked whether she could book something else, the only answer she got was that the kitchen was very particular about the time. No reasonable explanation or even an apology. I then fell to the same level and pointed out that if they (or the kitchen) were taking it that seriously, it was only 7:55 p.m. and I should be able to order something without any problem, especially when it was big The sign says “Kitchen until 8 p.m.”. The only answer she got was, “It’s been a long, hard day,” and the lady turned around and left. The bottom line is that I can understand that after a really warm day there is a great desire to finish work. A friendly apology would have done it. But being so arrogant, cheeky and unfriendly towards guests and brazenly saying nonsense over and above the official notice is not possible. With such an attitude the restaurant is only harming itself and actually the excellent beer.

Unfortunately, the pork knuckle was already out, but it was still very tasty and the staff was very friendly. + for dog friendliness

Located right on the market square, we enjoyed the Störtebeker Collection (beer). Food wise we had sweet potato fries. We can recommend it for those with a small appetite. I also really enjoyed the whiskey.

There was no staff to be seen outside, so we sat down at one of the many free tables and were a bit surprised that we had to set up the chairs ourselves. As soon as we were seated, someone came and said the table was closed. When we asked, we were told that this table would not be served due to a lack of staff. But we could still take a free table inside. We then sat down there (where there is probably no shortage of staff, but the same restaurant!) and found out that hot food is not available until 8:02 p.m., but only until 8:00 p.m. Very customer unfriendly. Maybe you tell the staff that you're giving at least 5 minutes of grace time?

We sat outside at the table within sight of the man at the counter, who kept looking at us with interest. When after 10 minutes there was still no service person, we left again. The menu (kindly given to us by a guest from the next table) has, in terms of most of the dishes, little to do with a brewery; physically it makes a tattered, run-down impression - apart from the prices, nothing gives the impression of being one of the "first houses in the area". Compared to the last visit a few years ago, no more recommendations.

Service and ambience were top. But I see room for improvement when it comes to the food itself and the richness of the dishes. Sorry for a proper brewery there has to be more on the plate for this price, we had 2x pork T-bone with rosemary potatoes, that was nothing for a man, sorry. And with this constellation there was no sauce, so the food would be far too dry. The knuckle, on the other hand, cost around €1.50 less, this dish was again rich, as was the dish with the beef bratwurst. The flounder was no longer crispy as far as the skin was concerned and was much too bland. We found the dishes very unbalanced in terms of quantity and price.

A really great restaurant! We make a point of taking a detour when we are in the area to eat here! I had an incredibly delicious knuckle with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes. A poem! The Störtebecker beers are also very tasty and there is something for every taste. Particularly noteworthy is the very good service. The employees are very courteous, empathetic and highly professional. Special requests were even fulfilled if it was possible. It's always an incredibly great experience. We recommend!

I ate a very tasty pork knuckle. The meat was juicy and tender, the skin crispy as it should be. The mashed potatoes could have used a little more salt, but that's on the table and you can adjust the seasoning.

Das Brauhaus ist sehr schön am Markt in Greifswald gelegen, man sitzt auch sehr schön draußen und die Bedienung war freundlich und den Gästen zugewandt. Das Essen ist allerdings nicht zu empfehlen. Die Bratkartoffeln matschig, der Gurkensalat mehr oder weniger ohne Geschmack und das Schnitzel trocken und machte den Eindruck, als hätte es schon lange im Gefrierschrank gelegen und darauf gewartet, gebraten zu werden, es war trocken und schmeckte einfach alt. Die Heringe, die geschmacklich ganz ok waren, hatten die Mindestgrösse sicher nicht erreicht, es waren eher noch Babyfische. Auch die Haxe, obwohl sehr gross, war sicher aufgewärmt, aber schlecht, unabhängig von der Kruste die einfach nicht zu essen war, allerdings hatte die Kellnerin vorher darauf hingewiesen, so dass man seine Bestellung hätte überdenken können. Insgesamt war die Qualität des Essens enttäuschend, aber wegen der freundlichen Bedienung und der schönen Lage zwei Sterne.

Das Fleisch vom Burger war voller Sehnen und oder Knorpel. Ständig auf was hartem rumgekaut. Nur zur Hälfte gegessen. Burger King oder McDonals besser noch, was Fleisch angeht. und viel billiger. Mein Mann hatte Schälrippchen. Das war ok. Bedienung nett. Werde aber nicht nochmal herkommen.

Tasty food and very tasty beer!

Excellent food made from regional ingredients and a good Störtebeker. The employees are extremely friendly and accommodating. All of this right on the market square. Very good.

Schweinhakse, the pasta was delicious. The goulash was delicious, but a bit salty. Beer is, of course, delicious. There are plenty of seats inside and the atmosphere is good.

Nice brewery, primarily oriented towards beer. But they also have some delicious things to eat. The drawback, however, is that the management has not yet fully arrived in 2024 and does not offer oat milk or anything similar. People beer is vegan, so also offer other vegan products...

Delicious beer, super nice staff and a pretty good menu that also offers some vegetarian (great burger!) and a vegan option. The prices are ok.

Nice service, clean and nicely decorated with lots of outside seating. Schnitzel was too dry and unsalted for me, but the rest was good. Beer is a matter of taste and there are a lot of varieties to try... Gladly again.

Eine Gruppe Geschäftsleue hatten seit Monaten eine Reservierung für einen gemeinsames Beisammensein. Leider war es nicht möglich entweder innen oder auf der Terrasse einen gemeinsamen Tisch zu bekommen…. Traurig saßen einige dann innen und die anderen draußen…,,für eine lange Zeit kam es für uns innen und außen keinen Service. Das Servicepersonal bemühte sich dann um Freunlichkeit. Das Essen war wegen zu wenig Personal zum Teil ok, zum anderen waren für die anderen die Beilagen kalt. Schade, wir haben den Abend woanders sehr nett verbracht.

Top address! Very pleasant atmosphere, super nice service, super delicious food! The knuckle was cooked to perfection, the rind popped sensationally and the fried potatoes were also very, very tasty. The selection of drinks also leaves nothing to be desired. We recommend!

Went to the zoo and the café and snack bar were closed...so off to the market. We then decided on the brewery. Good choice. Service very nice and attentive. Food was also delicious. It just seemed to me that the portions were smaller than they were 2 years ago and more expensive. Still worth it.

The beer is of course great. Service top. We found the food disappointing and very expensive. When I order pasta with truffle butter for €22, I expect at least some fresh truffles. The dish was really uninspired and, above all, way too expensive. The vegetables in the grilled vegetable salad were still far too raw even after they were returned to the kitchen. Overall, uncreative and expensive. Roast pork was good.

It's been a long time since we've been to the Fritz. Unfortunately, we couldn't find anything on the menu that we enjoyed eating years ago. No children's menu, no fish & chips (I loved them back then!), instead very few dishes, very overpriced. Now we decided on the burger and a schnitzel. My daughter ate dry noodles. The burger was bland. There is no other way to describe it. I really imagined something better, with a hefty price tag of over €20. The service was top. The young waiters were very friendly, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the bad food. 2 out of 3 stars go to the waiters!

Very inflexible, one child was given pasta without tomato sauce. One person wanted to be vegetarian because of health problems and putting a meal together wasn't possible either. Then she just drank some tea.

We had lunch there at Easter. The cold mashed potatoes, the savoy cabbage roulade had a bad filling and the leaves were hard. The food was not promised to the 8 of us.

It's getting a little longer now 😬 We ordered a table today at 12:30 p.m. and we were able to take it. Nice window seat with a view of the market square. The service was friendly and very attentive. Our request to give us a little more time to order our food, as it was our wedding anniversary and wanted to take our time, was promptly responded to. Beer was great, the food was simply fabulous (greetings to the kitchen, we don't understand what the salt and pepper shakers are doing on the table). Super tasty. It is often said that it is rather expensive. Guys, it's 2024, we don't feel at all. Small list: 4 large beers 2 small beers 2 main courses 2 espressos and 1x dessert for 85.10 + tip. That's completely within the scope and to be honest, very, very good for this quality. Many thanks to the Störtebeker team in Greifswald, who made the day even more beautiful for us personally and anyway. Oh, before I forget: it's very, very commendable that some of the baked goods from the local bakery are used and the pasta from a small but fine factory almost 20km from Netzeband is also included in the menu. Very nice

Unfortunately, the portion sizes of the same dishes differed by over 100%. The roast venison served 1 person with approx. 150g. Meat and one person with approx. 400gr. Brought meat.

We had our slightly delayed Christmas party in the brewery inn from our company. Our boss had a smaller menu put together for us in advance. With starters, main courses and desserts. The food was good. Nicely presented, fresh and hot. My pike-perch fillet was a bit dry and my request for more vegetables and no potatoes was unfortunately only partially acceded to. The drink selection also takes some getting used to. Many of my colleagues would have liked to have a cocktail or long drink. But unfortunately there are none. Except for gin and tonic or cola whiskey. All in all, the evening was nice, but unfortunately also a bit disappointing.

We were there for our big birthday and it was an absolute failure. We wanted to have a really good time as the highlight of the day. With plenty of time and a full (tasty) program, that was the plan anyway, so I made reservations in good time. But the food put a damper on our lovely evening. We have by far never eaten so badly - really! I'm not decadent at all, but this was really uncomfortable for me for my big birthday. The sauce was watery and fatty and lumpy - cold. The meat was totally tough, dry and hard. Mashed potatoes worse than out of the bag, sticky, solid, too salty, I have no idea, indefinable. The entire meal had no real taste. I had never been so disgusted inside and it just made me uncomfortable. My guest ate out of embarrassment. €80 for 2 people to eat "out of embarrassment". A dream dinner. The reception was very accommodating. The waitress was extremely friendly, empathetic and service-oriented. The proletarian men's team, who loudly marched out of the kitchen and stared at us, didn't do any better after the waitress conveyed my criticism to the kitchen. And we have been super polite and friendly guests up to this point. It was just noticeable that I ate little. And I didn't want to lie either. While we were eating, there was also a lot of talk in front of the kitchen right next to us about the fact that one of the waiters had probably been in some sanitary facilities and now... had his shoes on and therefore had to disinfect them next to us. That was very unpleasant while eating. We left totally depressed and didn't feel like having dessert or anything like that. We just wanted to get away. Absolutely not a great memory for the big birthday. I'm very upset that you ruined a very well-planned day so much.

The rosemary potatoes and the sauce for the duck were totally over salted. The worst thing was the fries, which probably fell into the salt pot. A pity. Went for lunch with family on December 25th... Greetings to the chef in love.

Sehr schlecht! Vorab das Personal war sehr nett, freundlich und bemüht. Aber:! Für die Preise geht das gar nicht! Die Sitzmöbel auf den ich Platziert wurde (rein und ganz links) waren voller Blutspritzer-ähnlichen Flecken auf der Sitzfläche und an der Lehne. Am Fensterplatz ist der Sitz aufgerissen. Laut meiner Begleitung schon länger! So einen unschönen Restaurantbesuch hatte ich noch noch nie!

Waren zu fünft hier und der Service war super! Getränke kamen schnell und Essen kam auch recht zügig. Geschmeckt hat es allen. Das Ambiente lud zum verweilen ein. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Das Bun beim Braugasthaus Burger war nicht geröstet.

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant mit einem sehr guten Service. Das Essen war Top. Preis/Leistung waren echt in Ordnung. Die Bierauswahl war hervorragend. Atlantik Ale und Hefeweizen waren meine Favoriten. Klare Empfehlung. Reservierung empfohlen, ab 18 Uhr so gut wie ausgebucht. Wir waren an einem Donnerstag hier.

Das Essen war lecker, der Service zuvorkommend und freundlich ABER.... wir saßen in der Nähe von den Toiletten und von dort hat es so heftig gestunken. Wir haben es dem Personal auch mitgeteilt, dass es schon eklig ist, beim Essen diesen Gerüchen ausgesetzt zu sein, aber einen anderen Tisch konnten wir nicht bekommen, da es sehr voll war. Eigentlich schade, aber wohl kein unbekanntes Problem, wurde uns dann noch vom Personal mitgeteilt. Schade, aber für uns nie wieder...

Service war super. So freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Service wie in Sellin habe ich selten erlebt. Das Restaurant ist gemütlich eingerichtet. Essen war sehr gut und der Wildberry Lillet zu empfehlen. Hatte den großartigen Fischburger mit Rote Beete. Sehr gut.

Zum 2x hier gewesen. Super Vorspeisen, lecker Hauptspeisen und Nachtisch geht ja wohl immer. Nette Sache, die Platte mit den verschiedenen Biersorten. Einfach mal probieren

War insgesamt sehr zufrieden ! Hatten aber leider einen zugigen Platz am Durchgang zu den WC !

Für einen Montag gut besucht. Zentrale Lage, gut erreichbar. Schnitzelportion gut, Matjes etwas wenig, dafür mehr Beilage.

Mein Vater & ich waren zum wiederholten Male hier (wir kommen aus Pasewalk), um richtig llllllleckerrrrr zu essen und auch diesmal waren wir mit unserer Wahl (Ochsenbäckchen mit Knödeln & Speckbohnen) sehr zufrieden. Kompliment an die Küche und der Service könnte besser nicht sein. Fazit: WIR KOMMEN WIEDER

Kurz entschlossen wollten wir gut essen gehen. Ab ins Störtebeker. Unser Hund war auch sehr willkommen und der Wunsch nach einer ruhigen Ecke wurde auch erfüllt. Alle waren sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und fix. Das Essen war sehr gut und auch die Portion war dem Preis angepasst. Auf alle Fälle sehr zu empfehlen. Danke an das gesamte Team. Weiter so.... 👍👍👍

Es wurde pünktlich Feierabend gemacht....

Sehr freundliche Bedienung sehr schönes Ambiente und das Essen mega lecker und das Fleisch auf den Punkt genau.

Wir waren spontan im Restaurant zum Mittagessen und wurden schnell und freundlich bedient. Das Essen war gut und ausreichend, der Salat war hervorragend.

Heute dort zum Essen gewesen meine Pulled Goose war sehr zart, die Aioli on Point und die hervorragende Bierauswahl inkl. der Empfehlungen haben das Erlebnis abgerundet. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich Paul, der sich nicht nur aufmerksam und humorvoll um uns gekümmert hat, sondern auch noch herausragend auf Nachfragen zu dem Angebot reagiert hat und definitiv die kulinarische Lust auf den nächsten Besuch entfacht hat. Baller nächste Mal aus Berlin nach Greifswald nur um dort essen zu gehen.

Rundum klasse! Ganz furchtbar nette Bedienung, Matjesfilets, die so fantastisch schmecken, dass sie keine Sauce bräuchten, ein sehr leckerer Burger mit ausreichend Majo - auch nicht selbstverständlich - und grandiose Bratkartoffeln. Über das Bier brauchen wir kein Wort verlieren. Störtebeker ist eh ganz toll. LEUTE, GEHT DA HIN!

Nette Bedienung und leckeres Essen

Essen war leider mittelmäßig. Die Burger waren ok aber hätte mehr erwartet.

Wir waren rundum zufrieden. Mit einer kleinen Gruppe hatten wir einen sehr schönen Tisch. Das Essen war ausgesprochen gut und das Personal sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Wie der Name schon sagt ist das komplette Programm der Störtebeker-Brauerei auf der Karte. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Ich war das erste Mal hier und fand es total schön. Das Ambiente, Essen und Service sind stimmig.

Tolles Braugasthaus mit uriger Atmosphäre und sehr leckerem Essen direkt am Marktplatz von Greifswald. Besonders das Bier ist empfehlenswert!

Schönes Ambiente das Essen ist sehr lecker und ein sehr freundliches Personal.

Leider hat das alles mit dem ehemaligen "Alten Fritz" nichts mehr zu tun! Das Ambiente und die Einrichtung sind beliebig und teilweise runtergewirtschaftet. Wir waren mit großer Gesellschaft an einem Freitag da... die reduzierte (abgesprochene) Karte klang gut. Die Teller sahen auch gut aus, aber es soll nicht besonders geschmeckt haben... Aufgrund Personalmangels war um 22.00 Uhr Ausschankschluss :-(. Ich denke, dass wir froh sein konnten, überhaupt dort zu sein. Trotzdem - oder gerade: Danke an die beiden Mitarbeiter, die durchgehalten haben und alles weggelächelt haben - auch wenn das bei einem aufgrund der Hygiene-Maske nicht zusehen war! Am darauffolgenden Tag (Sonnabend!) versuchten wir in kleiner Gruppe nochmal unser Glück, aber da war schon ab 19.00 Uhr "keine Küche mehr"... Schade, was aus dem "ersten Haus am Markt" geworden ist! Aber, wer "nur" ein gutes Bier in verschiedenen Variationen trinken möchte, ist hier immer noch gut aufgehoben.

Zentral am Marktplatz gelegenes, gemütliches Restaurant mit gutem Essen. Wem eine normale Portion zu groß sein könnte, der kann auch nur eine halbe bestellen. Gerne kommt man hier wieder her.
