We have absolutely nothing negative to say. We ended up there spontaneously with two people and got a table with a harbor view. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Even an accidentally ordered the wrong bottle of water (still instead of medium) wasn't charged; they simply brought a new one, and even left the open "bottle" one standing. The food was very good, and the side dish buffet was also great! We would come back again and again.

Hey, I ate there with my two sons and can only recommend it 100 percent. It was very busy and took a while to arrive, but the food made up for it. The cooking levels were perfectly adjusted for each of us. The ambiance was also very nice. And the friendly, dark-haired waitress always had a friendly smile on her face, no matter how busy it was. Thanks for a lovely evening, we'll be back 👍

Kitchen closes before the official time. Incredibly cheeky. We were there at 8:45 p.m. One table was free. The rest were occupied. Officially, the kitchen closes at 9 p.m. We were there at 8:45 p.m. Sorry, the kitchen is closed. My warning that this wasn't legal was posted on the door sign! Sorry, I'll pass this on. Nothing is being passed on; they're just making money. Service is being downplayed, never again. We consumers should acknowledge this. We should support the many hard-working restaurateurs. Not these people. I was very disappointed, as you can probably tell from my words. Never again…

The tartare was excellent. But the chef clearly doesn't know how to prepare a rare entrecôte. While it was rare on the inside, it was sloppy and cold on the outside, instead of crispy and hot. That can happen at an Italian restaurant, but not at a steakhouse. I returned 80% of it; and still paid the bill for a good €140 [including appetizer, water, a bottle of wine, etc., just for the record, for the sake of fairness], rounded up to €155 including tip for two people. The waiters who took our orders were okay—hence the tip—but the waitress who asked if everything was okay—an absurd question when 80% of the food isn't eaten—actually didn't care at all about what was wrong. Nor that my partner's steak was tough. Instead, she became rude and insulted us. If I ran my company like that, if I treated my clients like that—well, good night! We're used to a different quality [from Otto Gourmet, etc.], and we know how to prepare a steak rare without it arriving lukewarm on the plate. And if we know that, why can't a chef in a steakhouse do it? No wonder people who treat themselves to something like that on special occasions conclude that ALDI, LIDL, or PENNY meat will do just fine. That's a real shame! The chef preferred not to show up, even though it was embarrassing given the response.

NEVER AGAIN We reserve a table for two at 6 p.m. on Sunday. We arrive on Monday. There are three people ahead of us, no reservation. They easily get a table for four. We register with a reservation. We are seated at a table for six. While we are studying the menu, three people are seated at our table. We are surprised. So if I reserve a table and it is confirmed, I expect to get a table for myself. Not a group event. We weren't even asked if we agreed to this. We left without comment. We have never experienced such poor service. Therefore: NEVER AGAIN The restaurant owner can obviously do without money.

A very nice steakhouse in a wonderful atmosphere by the marina. A very good selection of dishes for everyone and a generous side dish buffet (which is included in the steak price). We had the sirloin steak and a fillet steak, preceded by a steak tartare. Everything was of excellent quality and very tasty. The prices are accordingly high, but fair and justified. The background music for us was live from the grand piano, and the atmosphere was generally very inviting and cozy. Unfortunately, our wait was a bit longer, but that was certainly due to the fact that we were seated well hidden in the far corner because of our dog (we chose our own seat). All in all, a successful evening, and we would gladly return.

The pork spare ribs and fillet steak are highly recommended. You don't need to order side dishes, as there's a very generous buffet. The service is also excellent.

The ambiance inside was super nice, outside 1 star 🌟 deducted because cleanliness and maintenance (flower pots) could be better. Most importantly, the food The salad and warm side dishes buffet lacked adequate labeling. The salad dressing was very watery. Main course Fillet was super tender and cooked perfectly medium. It was very 😋 Taurus plate Very good selection and very tasty 😋 The minced steak was out of place. All in all, very good, hence 5 stars 🌟

Very rude and unfriendly restaurant owner, very friendly staff

Four of us were there on August 21, 2025. We had reserved a table in advance by phone. The chef personally seated us. Immediately afterward, we were served by a very dedicated server. The drinks arrived very quickly, and we were able to order our food. We passed the wait (about 45 minutes) with delicious side dishes and a fresh salad selection. The food was magnificent. A small kitchen oversight (my steak was supposed to be medium but was well done) was corrected by the chef himself, who canceled the entire meal and treated us all to a cognac. An all-around successful evening, with delicious food, excellent service, a pleasant ambiance, and friendly people around us. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back next year! It would be nice if the chef would also tell us the name of the delicious cognac. I forgot to ask.

Nope... When we arrived in the evening, the restaurant was full, but the tables emptied quickly. The buffet was unfortunately the same, and it was barely refilled. Various side dishes were simply out of stock. It took half an hour before we were finally allowed to order, even though we had waved several times. An hour (!) later, we were informed that a dish we had ordered was no longer available. It took another half hour for everything to be on the table! The food wasn't even good. The steak wasn't medium, but well done, and the fish was too salty. Not recommended!

I rarely write reviews, but this was by far the best steak I've ever eaten. The service was top-notch. The chef also puts his hand into it, which isn't something to be taken for granted. I had the flambéed Teres Major beef from the sous-vide 😍 Served without any frills, the focus was on the steak. The accompanying side dish and salad buffet was always full and frequently refilled. The open kitchen and the chefs' expertise were a dream.

The food (ribs) was super delicious, and my two companions also enjoyed it very much. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. The employee was super friendly and really tried hard – but unfortunately, she was hopelessly overwhelmed as she only had one assistant when the house and terrace were full. I believe the owner has a responsibility to provide support and focus more on the staff and less on the fleet (😉) We will definitely be back and hope that more staff will be hired by then.

Highly recommended, the food and the atmosphere are just amazing

Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience; we had too high expectations based on the many good reviews. The service was only attentive until we ordered our food, after which we were no longer there – there was no question about the food or whether we wanted anything else to drink, even though we had already run out of drinks during the meal. Only when the food was ready were we told we could now go to the side buffet. The steaks had to stay at the table until then. Additionally, the buffet was almost empty at that moment, so we put a few leftovers on our plates and hurried to the table so the food wouldn't get any colder. My wife's steak, a 250g sirloin steak, medium-well, was well cooked, but so tough that unfortunately, only half of it was edible. We also reported this, but all we got was a shrug and the explanation that it's a natural product and you can get unlucky with it. We won't recommend the restaurant and unfortunately won't go back.

We had a reservation for 8:15 p.m. and were turned away at 8:15 p.m. with the explanation: "We have so many large tables and can't accommodate any more!" And there were still plenty of free tables. I could understand it without a reservation. But planning your day in Heiligenhafen with the intention of going out to dinner in the evening and then being turned away without a justifiable explanation really diminishes your vacation in Heiligenhafen. I can't recommend it; it's better to make reservations at nearby restaurants that aren't resting on their laurels.

We had reserved a table and were served very quickly upon entering. The menu was explained to us very well, as in my opinion, it's not always clear what comes with the dishes and what's extra. I ordered the 350g medium entrecôte, which was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My two ladies had the Suvide-cooked pork loin steak, which we thought should have been left on the grill a little longer to get a bit more color, but the quality was very good. The price/performance ratio was absolutely OK, good quality at a good price.

A Restaurant Owner's Outburst – A Record of a Total Failure I can't say anything about the food at the "Taurus." It didn't happen – and it won't. Heiligenhafen Harbor Festival: I politely ask at the entrance to the "Taurus" restaurant if I can use the restroom. A friendly employee nods and shows me the way. So far, everything's been normal. Suddenly, someone pushes open the door to the women's restroom – loudly, aggressively, threateningly. I'm yelled at through the stall door, asking if I'm a guest. As I'm leaving, a man rushes at me, first yelling at the employee ("You can't just let someone use the restroom!") and then at me. It turns out: the boss himself. Guests waiting for a table in the almost empty restaurant look embarrassed at the floor while he continues to yell. I protest: "You can't just walk into the women's restroom like that?!" His answer: "This is my restaurant, I can do whatever I want here." No. You can't just do whatever you want – even if you own or operate a restaurant. The term "host" isn't measured solely by sales, but by attitude and respect. Both were completely lacking here. As I said: I don't know what the food at the "Taurus" is like. Sure, there are dedicated employees there, for whom I feel even more empathy after this experience. But for me, it's not a place to be for people like me. The way you treat guests says more about the host than about the guest.

The side dishes are okay, but unfortunately the vegetables are completely overcooked. The beef fillet was tough and not very good quality. The beef ribs were okay, but I wouldn't order them again. The restaurant itself is very nice, and so is the service, but unfortunately, the food is not so good.

We can definitely recommend this restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly, efficient, and attentive. The food was delicious, there was a great selection, and the value for money was also good. We had a last-minute reservation for inside, but then decided to sit outside instead (because of the great weather). The seating is very comfortable, with a beautiful view of the harbor, and you can simply enjoy yourself. We would love to come back on our next vacation.

Despite being understaffed, the service was super friendly and welcoming. It's a mystery to me how the young lady stays calm and serves every guest with a genuine smile. The staff really deserves 10 stars. The food was very good. The spare ribs and salmon were perfect. The hot and cold salad buffet selection was excellent. The prices are high, but I think they're reasonable for the quality and the location.

Hey! Great place!!! Everything was wonderful: food, service, value, and the side dishes (set up as "you can eat"). But who needs sides when the ribs are served so generously that even denture wearers can eat their fill, because: the bones come off the meat perfectly! Oh yes, meat: the restaurant is called TAURUS: they also have BEEF ribs! I've never seen that anywhere... Well, those are bones! And then the location: beautiful view of the Hamburg harbor skyline and the harbor basin, where fishing boats used to be moored in abundance. WE'LL BE BACK!

Hey, we were in town for two days and ended up at the Steak House. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff, especially Mandy. The Wiener schnitzel was perfect and extremely tasty. We were unlucky with the rump steak on the second day; it was unfortunately very tough, which is a shame. However, we believe this was an exception, so we highly recommend it. Well, it's okay. The interior is very attractive, but I felt like I was at a train station. It was loud, and guests were constantly running back and forth. The staff was very friendly.

Repeat visit July 2025 First of all, the food was great again. Unfortunately, we can't confirm our review from 2023 this time. The manager is so stressed and extremely hectic, which he continues with the staff and guests. Only one employee takes orders and unfortunately doesn't really follow up on selling drinks/desserts or anything else. The rest of the staff seems to consist of unskilled workers who unfortunately seem somewhat haphazard in their processes. Our visit was during the week, and the restaurant was far from full, which made the service even less pleasing. We went straight to the counter to pay because no one from the staff had come to our tables for a long time. It's a really nice restaurant with a great location, but the fact that there are only flower boxes outside with no "living" plants and the dried-out plants on the table that are full of ants doesn't do it justice. The restrooms (mostly for women) were a complete disaster. What is absolutely unacceptable, however, are the incorrect prices on the menu. The schnapps was listed as €6.90, and we were billed €8.90 for a schnapps, with the statement that the manufacturer is no longer serving at €6.90! Review from 2023 We were passing through Heiligenhafen for dinner. The restaurant was very busy, and we got one of the last available tables. The very friendly and relaxed welcome at the door immediately impressed us. The entire service staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is very nice and fitting for a steakhouse. The food was excellent and the price/performance ratio is very good.

The great atmosphere was somewhat marred by the seating by the passage and the disorganized service, who sometimes seemed to be poorly listening or incomprehensible. The food was excellent, drinks were ordered very quickly, the food was ordered about half an hour later, and it took another 40 minutes for the food to arrive despite having reserved a table. You can't exactly order in advance.

Unfortunately, the coffee machine was broken, so after waiting 30 minutes, we didn't get a cappuccino. We then asked for the bill... Beautiful restaurant with a cozy atmosphere inside. Outside, you can enjoy a view of the harbor, and at some tables, even the marina. Very friendly staff. Fast service, short wait for the food, and all the dishes came together. The server even informed us shortly beforehand that we could get the side dishes from the buffet, as the steaks and other items would be arriving soon. It was also delicious. We recommend the steakhouse!

The food is truly outstanding, especially the lamb and spare ribs. The value for money is unbeatable, as most main courses include a cold and hot side dish buffet. The only downside was the wait time (an hour), which is certainly normal anywhere on a Friday night.

Absolutes No Go!! Ganz klar 0 Sterne! Wir wurden quasi von unserer eigenen Hochzeitsfeier/-essen ausgeladen. Nicht persönlich. Standen vor verschlossener Tür, obwohl wir gebucht und uns 4x versichern lassen haben, dass alles klar geht heute! Man hätte unsere Nummer nicht gehabt (stand im Reservierungsbuch!) Und in einem weiteren, neu eröffnet Restaurant (selber Besitzer) wurde uns wohl einen Tisch hergerichtet. Ohne Absprache, völlig anderes Ambiente, andere Küche....eben nicht das, was wir uns für unseren größten Tag seit einem Jahr geplant hatten (Seebrückentrauung-1 Jahr Planung!!) Schade, da wir der Meinung waren, dass es das beste Steakhouse ever war. Ist nicht das erste Mal, das unsere Reservierung nicht eingetragen wurde! Das gute Essen hat es immer wieder verzeihen lassen. Aber jetzt ist es nicht mehr feierlich!

I had an unforgettable evening at the Taurus restaurant! The waitress was incredibly friendly, attentive, and her warm manner made us feel immediately welcome. The chef conjured up true works of art with his dishes – each dish was a delight for the palate and a visual highlight. The manager of the house also impressed with his professionalism and dedication to his guests. The stylish and cozy interior, which creates a perfect atmosphere, is particularly noteworthy. We had a wonderful evening at the Taurus restaurant in Heiligenhafen! The food was absolutely delicious, and you can tell that the very friendly chefs cook with a lot of love and skill. The Taurus Restaurant is a good alternative if you want a good steak in the north. The steak and the hot and cold meat buffet are fantastic. The price is a bit high, but it's worth it. 👍

Competence has a name........ TAURUS...............

We had made a reservation in advance and then waited at least 15 minutes at the front desk until someone from the waiting staff deigned to serve us. After being assigned a table, we waited at least another 20 minutes before we could place our first order. It then took another 30 minutes for the appetizers to arrive. The food itself, which came from the kitchen, was excellent and extremely tasty. Both the appetizers, the main course, and the dessert. Everything was also very beautifully presented. Without a doubt, a clear 5 stars. However, the buffet that we were referred to for side dishes was pretty depleted. It didn't look appetizing, nor did it give the impression of being fresh (wilted lettuce leaves). That shouldn't be the case at that price. The blonde waitress seemed pretty cool, but the service left a lot to be desired. Due to the mediocre service and the mediocre quality of the side dish buffet, we decided to give it three stars overall.

Nice ambiance, but unfortunately the tables are very close together. The food ranged from very good to mediocre. The beef steak was bleu instead of medium as requested, and there was more fat than meat. The kitchen should have seen that. The lamb, on the other hand, looked delicious. The turkey was also good, but the minced steak was unfortunately almost unseasoned. Be sure to make a reservation! (Speaks for the restaurant.) Very friendly and attentive staff!

Das Steak, wunderbar, wie ausgewählt und auch die Beilagen in Buffet Form Extraklasse. Es hat uns alles in Allem einen sehr schönen Abend beschert. Auch das sehr freundliche Personal sticht schon bei der Bestellung heraus. Wir als Einheimische kommen jetzt garantiert öfter auf ein leckeres Abendessen vorbei. Hello everyone, we had dinner with our friends today and I have to say that we were very excited. The welcome was super nice and the food with side dishes from the buffet was very tasty. The staff is in great shape and very nice. The boss Klaus takes good care of the well-being of his guests. If you want to eat comfortably and well in Heiligenhafen, this is the place for you. The steaks are first class. Keep it up.

The Taurus impresses with its high-quality food and very friendly service. Some of the dishes are rather expensive, but if you choose a dish from the BBQ section, the salad and starter buffet are included (e.g. with potato gratin). That's really great. Our dishes were all delicious and fresh (only the garlic bread tasted old and dry). We can absolutely recommend the Taurus both in terms of cuisine and service. What takes some getting used to is that the tables are set quite close together and we didn't understand the meaning of the piano music being played very loudly given the already loud noise level. That takes something away from the overall enjoyment. Overall, a great restaurant that I can recommend.
