Great ambiance, friendly service, and most importantly, the excellent food. We visited the Holzstube twice in a week.

Friendly staff, delicious food, I'll be back again and again. Excellent value for money for hand-picked food that goes directly to the customer. Thank you for everything.

We received a friendly welcome, even though we didn't have a reservation, which is recommended, but we were still comfortably seated. The entire experience was very cordial, and our waitress was absolutely charming. We had two shandys, which arrived quickly, followed by a pulled beef burger and a crispy chicken burger, both with the special fries. I've never eaten such a good pulled beef burger, and the chicken burger was also incredibly juicy and delicious. All of this in a wonderful evening atmosphere with appropriate lighting. We'd definitely be happy to come back.

But there's one small thing: it would be a shame that you're not open longer. But hey, you can't have everything.

The food was delicious. The burger was very flavorful and not too greasy. Everything was wonderfully fresh, and the service was super friendly and efficient. Definitely recommended.

Central location, nice outdoor seating and super friendly service

Holzstube is a household name around here. I used to go there often for steak and was always satisfied. Today, however, I tried the burger – okay. The chili cheese burger isn't worth its name. The homemade chili cheese sticks to the palate and isn't really edible. Without that little something, it might have been good. But what's absolutely unacceptable is serving frozen, not-so-good patties with a double burger and side for €22.50. For that price – and if you're serious about it – you're better off making your own.

Egal ob Holzstube alt, oder Holzstube neu, einen Besuch ist die Örtlichkeit immer wert. Ob Steak, Burger oder Rips, alles ein Gaumenschmauß. Wir sind Stammgäste und kehren hier immer ein, wenn wir in der Nähe sind. Super Köchin, super Koch. Nette Bedingungen, einfach ein toller Service. Dirk und Jannete , die Betreiber der Holzstube haben immer Zeit für ein Gespräch mit den Gästen. Hier fühlt man sich wohl. Wir sind am Freitag wieder da.

One of the best burgers we've ever had. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. We went there a second time during our vacation.

They specialize in steaks and burgers. And they do it to perfection! Great atmosphere and hosts! The traditional costume club comes on Thursdays. Traditional, entertaining, and simply part of the experience!

We stopped by for a beer or two and received a very friendly welcome. We had a lovely spot to enjoy the happenings in Ruhpolding. The beer was always well chilled and was always served with a smile. It's a beautiful building with a lovely sun terrace.

The service was super friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious, but... the price-performance ratio wasn't quite right for us. Charging €15 for a small sausage with some sauce and a handful of fries is a bit much. Even though currywurst/fries were listed under Smacks, we found it far too little for the money. We know a currywurst as being bigger than a bratwurst.

Wir waren jahrelang im alten Resataurant und waren immer begeistert.Wir haben immer die gemütliche Atmosphäre und die sehr gute Küche geschätzt.Die jüngste Vergrößerung des Lokals hat das Ambiente verändert und leider haben wir das Gefühl, dass die Qualität der Speisen darunter gelitten hat. Auch das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis entspricht mehr ganz unseren Erwartungen.Wir hoffen,dass das Restautant die Qualität in Zukunft wieder verbessern kann,da wir immer hier gerne essen waren.

Absolutely amazing👍 Family-run steakhouse/restaurant with a pub atmosphere. The food is lovingly prepared using their own recipes. The chef loves 70s and 80s music. Large beer garden and regional beers. I would definitely reserve a table before visiting.

Ordered hamburgers. These were quite expensive but if prepared well no problem. A lot of noise on the plates. The potatoes were not fresh and very salty and seasoned. 1 hamburger was so salty and over-seasoned that the taste of the meat was completely lost. Hamburger returned to the kitchen. This was resolved very professionally by the staff. A disappointing experience, certainly in terms of price-quality ratio. Based on our experience, not recommended.

I can really only give it 2 stars. I ordered a burger without cheese and still had to pay 1.50 euros more. The meat was dry and the buns felt like you had been lying outside in the air for a day. My daughter's bulled beef bun had the same problem. Ordered extra fries filled 15 pieces for 4.90. The price-performance ratio is absolutely not justified.

Ich kann echt nur 2 Sterne vergeben. Ich hatte Burger ohne Käse bestellt und musste trotzdem 1,50 Euro mehr bezahlen. Das Fleisch war trocken die Buns waren man hatte das Gefühl 1 Tag draußen an der Luft gelegen. Meine Tochter hatte Bulled Beef das Brötchen das gleiche Problem. Extra Pommes bestellt gefüllt 15 Stk. Für 4,90. Das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist absolut nicht gerechtfertigt.

We visited the Holzstube am Maibaum during the biathlon week. This was only possible thanks to long-term reservations as the store is packed. That's no surprise, as the restaurant is cozy, the service is extremely friendly and the food is really excellent. Absolute recommendation!!!

We were lucky and got a table without a reservation. I was even lucky enough to be able to sit right next to the old tiled stove. It was so warm that I didn't want to leave. The restaurant is very comfortably furnished. We were served quickly and friendly. The food was great.

Even though the HOLZSTUBE has now moved, it hasn't lost any of its flair, friendliness, quality, and so on. We had the flank steak, the Pfandl, the turkey dish. Everything was ready to the point, sufficient, very tasty. It makes sense to reserve a table, as stopping by spontaneously can go wrong. The places are in good demand. Oh and one more thing: only cash is real. No card payment! But you can read all about it on the website. Conclusion WE WILL COME BACK!!!

Despite their open status, they have a closed society. Restaurant was half empty and we had to leave. Impudence!

Rejected for the second time. The internet says open until 10 p.m. The first time I came by at 8:45 p.m. and was told the kitchen was only open until 8:30 p.m. So far so good. The second time, we came earlier at 7 p.m. and the internet said it was open until 10 p.m. When we arrived we received the sad news again along the lines of “the oven will be off for you today”. Reason this time closed society. Half of the restaurant was empty but oh well. Hasta la vista, never see you again!

We went to the Holzstube for the first time a few days ago and we really enjoyed it 🥰 The staff was very accommodating and the prices were also okay. The only thing, but I'm not taking any 🌟 off for that, is the paper under the burger that quickly gets soggy due to the sauce and you always have it sticking to the food, which wasn't so pleasant. Maybe as a small suggestion for improvement 😉 we'll definitely come back ✨

On our first visit to the restaurant we had really excellent RibEye steaks that were second to none. We always order our steaks well done because we don't like red meat on the inside at all. After we liked it there so much, we went there again on a holiday trip and ordered the same thing again, only this time with five people instead of three. Apparently the waitress didn't understand what we wanted at all, even though we specifically said that the meat should be well done. After about 10 minutes she came to the table again and asked if we wanted spare ribs or something else. She didn't understand at all that we had ordered 5 rib eye steaks. The guests sitting at the table in front of us had a similar problem. Here too, there was dissatisfaction. After a while the steaks were delivered and we noticed that all of them were undercooked. So Welldone but bloody. We complained immediately and the steaks were simply fried again. So instead of preparing new steaks for us, the steaks that had already been prepared were prepared again. We ended up paying over €200 for these five steaks. In retrospect, we were really annoyed because we didn't receive any kind of goodwill. Out of politeness, my mother said that she liked it, but in fact she was very dissatisfied. And we were also very dissatisfied. Since this was apparently due to a miscommunication, we don't want to give a completely bad review, but we expected that we would at least get a small compensation. We will certainly not eat in this restaurant again, although the atmosphere there was very nice and we actually felt very comfortable. But unfortunately it was exactly this aspect that spoiled the whole evening for us. We are very disappointed.

The day before yesterday we were in the Holzstuben for the first time. We got a table without a reservation, even though the restaurant was full (we were allowed to sit with others). The staff was super friendly and nice, the food was also very good. We particularly recommend garlic baguette as a side dish. Delicious with lots of crunch and nice and crispy. Went in again yesterday (this time with a reservation). Highly recommended 🥳😻!!

Burger wasn't good. Roll on top completely hard as a rock, chicken from deep fryer way too hot, turned salad into algae. Plus an overripe fleshy tomato. Fries were good.

Only 2 stars because in 2024 I can't imagine a place where you have to pay only in cash as it doesn't accept credit cards.🤬

The roast beef was amazing, first of all a wheat beer and the garlic baguette. Everything was really delicious in a rustic atmosphere, we would love to come back.

Premetto subito che ho mangiato molto bene, il personale è cordiale e gentile, il posto all'interno è bello, tipicamente montano essendo interamente in legno. Perchè ho dato solo 2 punti su 5? Lo avrei valutato 4 punti ma il fatto che nel 2024 non vengano accettati pagamenti con carta di credito è inaccettabile almeno per me. Tra l'altro girando in Europa ci sono addirittura locali che non ricevono contanti, esagerezione certo ma neppure non prevedere pagamenti con carta di credito.

My worst burger ever and way too expensive! Very unfriendly staff.

We followed the herd instinct because the restaurant was always very busy and we were thrilled. The food tasted very tasty, the quality of the meat was high and the price/performance ratio was reasonable. Children were also taken into consideration; our daughter ate the chicken nuggets with great appetite.

Be careful when they say “wait”. You wait an hour and then hear “the kitchen is closed”. In return, they will gladly sell you a beer while you wait “for your supposed meal”.

Actually, I shouldn't reveal anything so that this wooden room with the fantastic team remains an insider tip... But we all appreciate what we were able to experience. Wonderful, lovingly prepared food. Three steaks to the point and two juicy burgers! Just a dream. The young staff is very accommodating, friendly and quick! It wasn't the last time we were here. Many thanks to the entire team, including the kitchen, for the enjoyable evening. We didn't take any photos. Go look for yourself and enjoy!

It was a nice place, there were lots of delicious things but the steak I ate (rib eye)(medium) was too tough in many corners.

We ate in the Holzstube today and were very satisfied, the children were taken into consideration and served courteously, the burger was great, as were the nuggets and fries. The Holzstubenpfandl were very tasty. The only drawback: Unfortunately, the food didn't come at the same time, the children had almost finished their food when our food came. There was probably high pressure in the kitchen right now. Everything else was great, Service, friendliness, cleanliness. The ambience is cool.

Kellnerin war anfangs unfreundlich, Essen hat 1 1/2 Stunden gedauert und dann auch noch die Beilage vergessen. Qualität ok aber auch die Erklärung, dass der Koch heute ausgefallen ist kam erst nach einer Stunde. Auf den Toiletten kein Klopapier und kein Papier zum Hände abtrocknen. 2 Termine wegen der Qualität des Essens.

We happened to be there because all the other restaurants were closed and we were very surprised. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly and attentive, the food tasted very good and the atmosphere was really relaxed. We would like to go on vacation to Ruhpolding again just to be able to eat here again.

A culinary experience in a class of its own

The burgers were average, but tasty and lovingly prepared. The service responded very attentively to special requests due to intolerances and offered alternatives.

Vanuit Inzell even naar binnen gelopen. Ondanks dat het volgeboekt was, kregen we de mogelijkheid om even snel iets eten te bestellen. Een heerlijke flank steak (bavette) gehad. Bediening was erg vriendelijk en ondanks dat het aan de buitenkant niet oogt als een leuk restaurant, is het binnen echt geweldig leuk en sfeervol!!

Absolute insider tip! After our disappointing wellness afternoon in the nearby sauna, we went looking for food nearby and then noticed the big yellow sign while driving around and looking. Hunger and disappointment drove us in there and we were absolutely thrilled with the facility straight from the front door. There really is something new to discover in every corner and in general it is very warm, cozy and furnished with love. The service worked smoothly and the menu was exactly to our taste. The food was really very good. We had a burger, a steak and a few sides. We were really very satisfied. In terms of price, we were then very surprised at what we got for this money. Really a very nice place with very good food! Please keep it up.

Were here years ago and have always been positively impressed by the food and hospitality. Unfortunately not this year. We made reservations as a group, but found ourselves in front of a locked door. Despite reservations, we were not informed that it would be closed until Tuesday due to illness. Would have been good to know for us as a larger group. I was already expecting a call back with this information... Sorry, but I didn't like it when you were really looking forward to the delicious meal and then suddenly find yourself in front of a closed door and need an alternative very quickly.

A very cozy restaurant where you immediately feel right at home. Very friendly team and the food was delicious. I had a ribeye steak with baked potatoes. A dream! I always go to the wooden room with my visitors. It doesn't get any better!
