Steakhaus "Bei Mario" Restaurant in Wangerland

It was the first restaurant we came across in Horumer Siel. Nice terrace, dogs allowed. Service was very quick even though there were only 2 people. Civilian prices. My grill plate was really good and also plentiful. My husband had fish, which was also really good. Delicious sauces, well-kept salad buffet.

We were there yesterday. It was great like every year. This year our vacation was not in Horumersiel but in Holtgast. We went there specifically. As always, we were not disappointed. The food was great and so were the prices. I have plaice Finkenwerder and my husband the grill plate. Big portion and good price. We didn't get a nightcap like we normally would, but we would always eat there again. I can only recommend it. All the employees are always very friendly. Thank you

The steaks were on point, very tasty! There was also nothing to complain about in terms of service. However, we didn't like either the Chewapchichi or the piece of pork steak on the grill. Both were extremely dry, I couldn't continue eating my piece. The waiter said that after the buttery steak it was a big contrast and a purely subjective feeling. However, my wife also found the pork steak to be much too tough. No replacement was offered. Hopefully the criticism will be taken as an opportunity to carry out a quality control again. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The portions are very good for the price. There is a salad buffet in advance. Have eaten there twice and were satisfied.

Had dinner here with the children today. Very nice and courteous staff and really delicious food at a reasonable price. And the portions were mega!!! We would come back at any time🤗

The food is ok, but not amazing. The sauce for the chanterelle schnitzel takes some getting used to. Food prices are okay, drinks are too expensive. The ambience outside is very nice, inside it looks like an athlete's home. It just works better if you try.

We had the grill plate and a fish fillet. Both portions were served quickly (too quickly for my taste). The beef steak and the cevapcici tasted great, but the bacon and the turkey fillet would have liked to have been on the grill for a few minutes longer. Salad bar is okay and sufficient. Child-friendliness is available. You have to get your own high chair, but directions to these were included. Price performance was so well, but luckily everyone has their own taste.

I like to eat pepper steak with croquettes, it's a pleasure, my better half has a grill plate, we like to eat there, nice friendly, reasonably priced

We always come here on our vacation to eat a beef fillet, what can you say, we are always very satisfied!! Service great, food great and it just works for us. From small to large, everyone is always full and happy 👍🏻 Keep it up and stay as you are, you're doing everything right!

Grill plate and mix grill can only be recommended! Tasty and large portions. Most dishes are accompanied by salad at the buffet.

Solid standard, the food was ok. Unfortunately, the meat was too badly burnt and sooty from the rust. The finished ingredients can be fresh in the future

An absolute must if you are in Horumersiel. The food is a poem. We ordered another table for 2 days later. The music in the background is outdated but otherwise we have absolutely nothing to complain about. Keep it up. ; )

We didn't even get a chance to eat there. We rely on a gluten-free diet and restaurants are legally obliged to at least be able to provide information. When we asked about allergens (not listed on the menu), we got a curt response from the waitress ("everything is gluten-free!") and when we asked more closely, we discovered that not everything is gluten-free after all. Then they confused gluten with lactose and just turned around and left. Even though we asked about something else, we were simply ignored. We canceled the drinks and went to another restaurant. In 16 years of a gluten-free diet and many visits to restaurants, I have never experienced anything so ignorant from a waitress!

We've been going here on vacation for years and have a direct comparison to (probably) last year: Prices have risen sharply. You used to be able to eat here for very little money. The restaurant now belongs to the middle to higher price range, although neither service nor ambience has improved. In addition, the salad buffet was actually always “all-you-can-eat”. At least you could easily take it again if you wanted. There is now a sign that says it's only free to go to court the first time, each subsequent time costs €5!!! Considering that the buffet is anything but rich, it's very disgraceful. Mayonnaise with the dishes costs extra, as does ketchup. It's a shame, we used to love going here

Solid food, friendly staff, fair prices and large portions. The pop music in the background isn't for everyone, but it's not a real problem either. Good address.

It was my wife's birthday and she wanted steak. So from Carolinensiel to Horumersiel to “Bei Mario”. She had steak with fried potatoes and onions and I had pepper cream steak. After ordering, the food arrived quickly. The food was tasty and filling. I then ate up the onions that my wife couldn't manage. When we wanted to pay, the next positive surprise came. The bill for the delicious food was not excessive. We'll be back, we won't miss it again! Thank you very much for the lovely evening.

So far we have only been outside at Mario's - inside, train station flair of the 1930s. Uncomfortable, completely outdated seating. The cutlery was simply placed on the table, WITHOUT a napkin underneath! The menu was handed to us by a younger, nice waiter. 30 seconds later the boss was at the table and wanted the order. - We're still looking - 30 seconds later he was back at the table, I asked him to come back with a show of hands. The plate that wasn't preheated was probably from Rudi's leftover ramp; it made loud noises when cutting. The poor meat was probably cut with a slicer and pounded until the desired size was reached. Cevapcici exactly 2 and thin as my little finger. 7 fries included, I counted them! It's a good thing that the mayonaise we ordered - which we were also supposed to pay for - was forgotten. Staff unfriendly and intrusive! It's a shame, we always enjoyed eating there, but it doesn't have to be!

The food is super tasty and the selection is very diverse. Unfortunately there were small difficulties with the reservation because the gentleman on the phone couldn't understand German well. Would definitely recommend making a reservation. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

A visit to a restaurant that we will remember. The service was very honest. Sentences like: "Give me the plates and I'll put them away" or "I don't know what's going on in the kitchen, I'm just chilling here" are probably considered good form here. The Mario starter plate is 100% frozen, the salad buffet is standard and loveless, and the meat in various dishes is very tough. Why the whole thing is called a steakhouse remains unclear, 80% of it is Balkan dishes. Only the apple spritzer and the beer were convincing.

Very friendly at the entrance. The service is top, we were able to choose at our leisure. Special requests were addressed immediately. We ordered 2x grill plates and a children's plate with schnitzel. Off to the salad buffet, I'm actually not a fan of it. But this dressing was by far the best thing I have tried or eaten. The complete grill plate was really good for just under 20 euros. The sanitary facilities were complete and clean. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. Thanks to the “Bei Mario” team for the great evening☺️

We ate at Mario's several times last year. Everything is still fine. Yesterday we were there again and had bad luck. We sat right by the toilet door. The smell that constantly wafted towards us from the door that was left open was fantastic... sickening. We constantly had to ask the guests to close the door. Among other things, we ordered grilled plates and pork fillet. All of the meat was dry and tough. The pork fillet was flattened to a diameter of approx. 8-10 cm before grilling. All fibers of the meat were destroyed, so that the fillet was dry and tough. The pig was killed twice. Criticism was not accepted. On the contrary, we were then ignored and no longer served. Too bad. That was our last visit.

Were there with 6 people from small to large. The food was very tasty, plentiful and very good quality. Price performance also fits and friendliness is standard here👍 If you like Balkan dishes and like to eat large portions, you will get your money's worth here. Parking behind the house is limited to about 6 parking spaces, so plan a bit of walking. We would love to come back here again.

The food was great, rarely had such a good schnitzel as well as grilled skewers and Ćevapčići, the chocolate souffle is highly recommended. The staff is very friendly and the salad buffet is very well stocked. The toilets are just a bit narrow but you don't have to stay there for long 👌we're looking forward to the next time

It is OK. Nothing special. The sizes of the dishes are enough. You are not hungry afterward, but the food is just normal. The salad is in a buffet, but yeah, not so tasty. You get a "schnaps" in the end.

Dinner for two when things have to happen quickly. The food was OK (plaice fillet and vegetarian dish). The ambience seems rather old and a little dreary. The cold season in January certainly played its part here. However, with more homely lighting you could distract from one or two weak points and set more accents.

Wir waren jetzt schon mehrmals hier! Wir sind begeistert! Das Essen ist sehr sehr gut, wir haben selten so gut gegessen! Die Bewirtung und das Personal ist eben so gut, man fühlt sich Pudelwohl, sehr tolle und nette Menschen! Immer wieder SEHR gerne!

Waren Anfang November mal wieder hier! Das Essen ist super! Bin bei vielen Besuchen nur einmal beim Gargrad des Steak unzufrieden gewesen. Wurde aber bei der Kritik professionell entgegengenommen. Sonst hatten wir bei vielen Besuchen keinen Grund zur Kritik

Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Leider riecht es im Restaurant sehr unangenehm nach irgend einem Raumduft. So stark das die Kleidung anschließend danach riecht. In einem Restaurant darf es gerne nach Essen duften. Das Personal war sehr nett.

Es war ein sehr leckeres Essen bei euch man bekommt richtig gute und grosse Portionen und es war sehr lecker das Fleisch war saftig und auf den Punkt genau es war sehr schön und das Ambiente war auch super das Personal war sehr freundlich immer wieder gerne :)

Waren heute zum essen da und haben uns gleich nach dem bezahlen für morgen einen Tisch reserviert.Sehr gutes Essen und alles frisch zubereitet und sehr schmackhaft.Wir haben es beide nicht geschafft.Meine Frau hatte keinen Salat vorher vom Salatbüffet(im Preis),ich ja und auch sehr lecker.Hatten jetzt einige Restaurants in Horumersiel,dieses war das Beste und vor allem zu der Jahreszeit (8Grad) geheizt und man konnte ohne Jacke sitzen.Wir freuen uns auf morgen.....Vielleicht noch kurz zu erwähnen! Wenn man Fisch oder Meeresfrüchte essen möchte sollte man in ein Fisch Restaurant gehen und nicht in (wie der Name es sagt) Grill oder Steakhaus!!!Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Nichts besonderes, Geschmack geht so. Bedienung völlig unmotiviert und unfreundlich.

Dieses Restaurant verfügt über einen zweckmäßig eingerichteten Gastraum und einen Außenbereich. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam könnte aber ein wenig freundlich sein. Das Essen ist lecker zubereitet und die Auswahl ist reichlich. Auch die Portionen sind gut bemessen. Dies Restaurant ist einen Besuch wert.

Gutes Essen, aber die Einrichtung ist aus den 80er Jahre

Für die Menschen,die Fisch kein Leibgericht ist,ist das Lokal die richtige Adresse,grosse Auswahl an Fleischgerichten und frischen,knackigen Salat

Wir waren zu dritt da und haben 2x Fischplatte und 1x Jägerschnitzel gegessen - super lecker. Zu allen Gerichten gab es Salat vom Büffet, wir waren total begeistert.

Personal war hat das gemacht was es zu tun hat, aber an der Freundlichkeit war noch viel Luft bei mehreren nach oben. Das Lokal könnte sauber sein und auch das ein oder andere mal erneuert werden. Die Toiletten waren dreckig und sehr eng. Jetzt zum wichtigsten das Essen... Waren große und ausreichende Portionen. Leider aber war bei ein Gericht das Fleisch sehr trocken, so das beim schneiden die Fasern auseinander gerissen wurden nicht geschnitten nicht nicht mehr essbar. Das Gemüse war wenig bis nicht gewürzt und Soße viel zu wenig. Die Leckeren Nordsee Krabben waren total fettig ansonsten war es essbar. Draußen werden Essen angepriesen die es dann nur zum Mittagstisch gibt, dieses wird aber auf dem Schild nicht erwähnt.

Sehr leckere und preisgünstige Fischteller (im Vergleich zu vielen anderen Restaurants), immer wieder gerne 😃👍

Bedienung war sehr freundlich, das essen war sehr gut, Preis hat gestimmt.Wir haben draußen auf der Terasse gegessen mit Hund, hätten aber auch rein gehen können.Hatte Rindersteak mit Champion - Rahmsoße mit Pommes gegessen und konnte mir vom Salatbuffet einen Salat zusammenstelllen und aus drei Salatsoßen auswählen.

Der Service und das Essen waren phänomenal! Wir hatten die Steakplatte und diverse Schnitzel, wir haben nicht lange auf unser Essen warten müssen.Steaks auf dem Punkt! Der Julischka ein Traum! Wir kommen wieder und immer wieder.

Das Essen: ein Rahmschnitzel, das keins war, Pommes: na ja, der Buffet Salat: übersichtliche Auswahl mit extrem viel Essig. Sauer soll ja lustig machen, in diesem Falle eher nicht. Es war alles convenience food, der Rahm war kein Rahm sondern klebrige Hollandaise aus der Tüte (die paar Scheiben Champignons machten es nicht besser und gehören da auch nicht rein). Das Schnitzel selbst hatte die Konsistenz eines Frühstücksbretts und war nicht unbedingt als Fleisch zu erkennen. Das Radler schließlich sah aus wie naturtrüber Saft und schmeckte nur nach Limo, hatte mit Radler nichts zu tun. Bei meinem Wunsch auf Änderung dieses Getränks in ein trinkbares Radler stießen gleich drei sehr freundliche Angestellte an sprachliche Grenzen sodass ich nach diesem " Gespräch" ein Bier serviert bekommen habe. Der Außenbereich ist ganz nett, hebt aber die Mängel beim Essen in keiner Weise auf. Aber wie gesagt, die Leute sind nett. Trotzdem, wenn ich Frühstücksbretter verspeisen möchte, mach ich das zu Hause, das ist wesentlich günstiger. Fotos kann ich leider nicht posten, denn Google hat was gegen meine Aufnahmen, wollen mir aber nicht sagen was, Sorry.

Freundliche Bedienung, sauberes Ambiente, umfangreiches Salatbüffet und das Essen lecker! Riesige Portionen. Eine Außenterasse gibt es auch.

Wie immer, ganz prima und sehr freundliche Leute obwohl viel zu tun war.

Sehr sauberes Lokal, extrem freundliches Personal und am wichtigsten: super leckeres Essen dem man anmerkt das es mit Liebe zubereitet wird. Der Preis ist der Qualität gegenüber fair.
