We celebrated a belated wedding reception here at the weekend. But I had never been to the location before. Friends live in Recklinghausen, so you're in town every now and then. We've never made it to the city harbor so far. It's really a really nice location for any kind of celebration. I can also really imagine how beautiful the built-up beach is on a warm summer evening.

Was at the city harbor today and was very surprised. The location was nice and cozy. Really like being on vacation... The service was great... This time I just ordered something to drink. I'll catch up on the food.

Here you can relax at the harbor with beach flair. Staff is nice, prices are not exorbitant. Unfortunately, when you sit outside on the terrace, the music is a bit too loud and disturbs you when you're having a conversation.

I think this restaurant is great for its location. The food was delicious and I was there today for the second time in two weeks, even though I live about 30km away. The seating isn't for everyone, but it's more or less set up as a beach restaurant. So that's totally ok. The ambience is right, the food is delicious and the staff is friendly to great. The prices are adequate. In my opinion it is recommended!

The city harbor is an easy-to-reach and relaxing address that invites you to linger, especially in summer.

I'm more than disappointed, it looked so nice online. As it is presented there, hospitality.. highly regarded, they pay attention to the customers..! I ordered a Coke, you can't go wrong with that at all. However, the chicken schnitzel for 16 euros. Mega small, well fried on the outside and not yet done on the inside. RAW! The side dishes were salad and fries. The fries were forgotten and they were only delivered after the speech. The salad dressing had to be questioned for 10 minutes because he didn't understand what I wanted from him. Only after I asked someone else did the fries arrive. Otherwise it was a 2 euro schnitzel with salad from Aldi and mustard dressing. About the size of a 10 year old child's hand when spread out. Sry but what is that please? TK true to sell so expensive? It's a joke. At least the view from the harbor is nice! The staff were very nice but the food wasn't good. When I left a 2 euro tip even though I didn't like it, they just looked at us stupidly?! I'm not going there again.

Update 2024: Prices have risen sharply, it's a shame that such a cut is made and a longer evening takes a deep toll on your wallet. Food is okay, drinks too - not a highlight and convenience that you would actually expect fresh cuisine for the price - unfortunately not the case. Recommended for chilling in the evening with 1-2 beers due to the sheer location, there are much better addresses in terms of cuisine and price. ----------------- Beautiful location, service very friendly and attentive Those who offer salads and burgers are offering a low level of culinary excellence and SHOULD not disappoint - but you should. The patty of the burger was fried to death, the salad with chicken strips was unimaginative and the chicken was as dry as it was hard - that was a fiasco. The baguette with aioli we ordered was brought about 25 minutes after we ordered it, after we had already finished eating - we then had it returned. I would like to point out positively that we mentioned the whole thing when we asked if everything was OK, the burger was not charged and a free drink was offered, which we politely declined. The owner is wasting a lot of potential here with a catastrophic kitchen. It's a shame, we will prefer other alternatives in the future.

I took a break here after a bike tour, very nice location with a view of the canal, the service staff were also very nice and accommodating, I think I also saw that you could even charge your e-bike there and saw sockets at the bike parking lot .

It used to be much better!!! The harbor salad had almost no dressing, just leaf lettuce with four pieces of tomato and four pieces of cucumber, as well as three slices of white bread! The bill only came after repeated requests!

Great restaurant right on the water. Good drinks selection. Great food - we had a private event with about 80 guests - all the grilled dishes were cooked to perfection. Not too dry, not too bloody. Really so perfect that I gave the chef a personal compliment. Perfect grilling is not easy. Also very important for me personally - the music. I'm primarily a rock music fan - but most of the evening was hip hop. But not just any poorly produced gangster rap, but actually top-produced, danceable hip hop. Here, too, there was personal praise for a long evening (5 p.m. to 1 a.m.) with a great selection of music! So I was really excited and will come back if I ever happen to be in the area.

Nice for a drink with friends. I didn't eat there but the dishes I saw seemed well made: some burgers, sandwiches and various fried foods, so to speak. The environment is a bit paradoxical between the many different styles of the place, the romantic lights outside with the industrial tower and winches just behind. Taken in the right spirit, it's fun. There are places to tie up bikes. They also have music evenings.

Hello. Always happy to be with you. Ambiance and service are great. We would also like to have something to eat with you, but unfortunately the price is no longer right. For a salad with topping around €18 is really steep. Will happily come back, but eat somewhere else.

I would give it 3.5 ⭐ for 4 it's not quite enough, but 3 is actually not enough. Unfortunately you can't get a tap at the stand and you can't get it yourself, which I think is a real shame. I also think the prices for the food are very steep, 9€ currywurst with fries is pretty decent. Just under €5 for 5 pieces of baguette with aioli, I expected more for the price. But otherwise it's really chic, it gives you a holiday feeling and the Heiniken extra cold is very tasty.

As always, when the weather is nice you can sit on the sand or on the terrace. You can use the beach with sun loungers free of charge. Drinks can be purchased in the restaurant or at the kiosk. You will be served on the terrace. The range of food on offer is not particularly extensive, but it is quite ok. Prices are local. If you consider that there is free access to the outdoor area with sand and deck chairs, then the pricing can be seen as reasonable. All in all, you can spend a pleasant afternoon here, especially with small children. If you think about what it looked like here in the past, then you have to pay a huge compliment to the person who had the foresight and courage to invest in their free time here. It is well maintained and turned out great. 👍

I really like the city harbor, but of course it always depends on the weather. The combination of relaxation and a beautiful ambience is somewhat successful. There are always improvements. The friendliness of the staff was very good during our visit, but it wasn't very busy either. The quick service was also available. Something is now being done to the fencing so that you can't see in from outside, that could help the feeling a bit. But it's a really good thing that something like this exists. 👍 high....

We went on a bike tour with a mixed group from Bochum/Gelsenkirchen to the city harbor of Recklinghausen. Near the “Umspannwerk” museum there is a great pavilion with its own sandy beach. We immediately had a holiday feeling after we made ourselves comfortable on the beach with various drinks in bottles. It was self-service here. Later we sat down on the large terrace under the parasols. The service was very attentive, friendly and quick. The menu was adapted to the theme “Dutch beach pavilion”. The prices for eating out have generally become very high, and there is also the surcharge for a great location. The €9.80 for currywurst with fries is therefore quite reasonable. Very diverse range of drinks on the terrace. Beers on tap and in bottles, otherwise the usual. So we would definitely like to come back again for a few hours of vacation.

Ideal for taking a break and possibly charging your e-bike.

The city harbor is a very beautiful beach location in front of an industrial backdrop in Recklinghausen-Süd. The interior is also very tastefully designed. During our visit yesterday, my family and I were served quickly by very friendly service staff. We were tempted to eat something too, but that was a big mistake. I had a salad that was very crunchy in places with sand. Some of the interfaces were brown. I sorted out some leaves, but fresh is different. My family's food was just the simplest convenience stuff, not particularly tasty, but hunger drove it into it. Conclusion: Great atmosphere, courteous service, subpar food. It's a shame, in the early days of the city port it was worlds better.

It used to be clean and now it looks better. Dirty out. City should clean it up more often.

Looked good, but after almost 20 minutes of waiting you weren't served, even though people looked at you a lot and waved. Therefore I can't rate the food

I actually had a positive image of this restaurant because of one or two company events, but that has changed today. On the one hand, a simple salad with chicken and a few tomatoes without any frills costs almost 18 euros. Then the following conversation with a waiter with a beard and a baseball cap: "I would like the salad with chicken" - "What dressing?" - “Which ones are there?” - (abusive) "You have to look at the map properly! We have to work here!!". We waited over 45 minutes for the salad. They couldn't even bring the scoop of ice cream for my three-year-old earlier. Last but not least, it is also tolerated that guests bring their own Mallorca music and play it at an unreasonable volume on the beach. There was no tip from me and no seeing you again soon.

We only made a stopover there on our bike tour. Nice atmosphere. Beach bar on the Rhine-Herne Canal. Drink prices are definitely too high.

The ambience is nice, everything else is not. The food was okay, unfortunately there were a lot of tendons and lumps in the chicken schnitzel, which I personally don't like at all! The waiters today were extremely unfriendly (especially the gentleman with the beard & the “fishing hat” + orange t-shirt), I have rarely experienced something like that. My girlfriend thought that the gentleman had miscalculated (which happened last time) & demanded the bill - the way it was handled was terrible - the gentleman became very angry & accused us of having had it beforehand He had been blaspheming all along and he wouldn't talk to us anymore, so he put his money down and left the table. Then another waiter came and tried to clarify the situation (FRIENDLY!!) - the gentleman in question came back to the table and became so abusive that his colleague had to stop him. First and last visit.

Last week a waiter made a mistake with the bill and overcharged. He was already angry beforehand because they simply asked when Coke had been available. It wasn't a problem and the error could be fixed Today we were there and a colleague thought she had been overcharged by this waiter again and asked him for the bill to clarify it. (It's actually nothing bad..) He immediately became unfriendly and insulted us. My colleague wanted to explain to him that she was simply unsure and would like to see the bill and nothing more. He didn't let them say it, became loud towards us and insulted us. My colleague just wanted to solve the misunderstanding but he cut her off, told her he didn't have to give the **** because we had been gossiping about him all evening anyway (which we actually haven't) and left the table us just sitting there. The other waiter then came to us and went through the prices with us in a friendly manner and the error (on our part) was immediately clarified But while the friendly waiter was going over the prices with us, the unfriendly one (hat, orange T-shirt) came back and became loud and adopted an aggressive posture. We really go there a lot but it's such a bad thing. At times he was so threatening that we thought he was about to attack my colleague The 2nd star for service is only because the other waiter was super friendly and went over the bill and menu with us

We were there yesterday. Both employees who served us were very friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good at all. What can you do wrong when preparing fresh salads? The honey mustard dressing described on the menu and ordered by us was anything but, but definitely not made with honey and mustard. It was a very oily liquid with lots of flavor enhancers. The toppings (chicken and shrimp) were charged separately at just under 7 and 9 euros, but given the number of 6 small strips of meat, they were really overpriced. 4 half, unfortunately very mealy, cocktail tomatoes rounded off the whole disaster. You don't have to be a trained chef, but if you work in the catering industry, you should occasionally get an overview of the quality of the food before it is served to the guest. If you order a salad with the above-mentioned toppings and are prepared to pay almost 20 euros for it, you expect the same quality. The location is really recommended for having a drink in a cozy atmosphere, but not for eating well.

You can't get anything to eat or drink there. We were ignored by the staff there and left after half an hour and cycled to another café. All I can say is.....NEVER AGAIN!!!

It was our first time here so I can't speak for 'what was there before'; i have no base for comparison BUT what I can say was the food was very good as much as the service was (we were served quite quickly but then again it was early in the service). I had the classic burger while my husband had the Chicken Tikka Masala. I think the fact that the weather was nice for the period made the experience that much more pleasant. There is sand and lounge chairs in the front making for a nice quiet corner.

I imagine it will be beautiful in the summer. Right on the water with a “beach”. Very comfortable inside. Such is the country house style. Very welcoming. The food was very freshly prepared. The staff also very friendly. You can definitely go there sometime :)

Nice place, unfortunately a bit drafty and cool. The dessert (brownie with ice cream) was unfortunately only thawed and ready-made. Otherwise, Kibbelinge and Chicken Marsala were generous portions that filled us up. The drinks are a bit overpriced at 6 euros for 0.4l spritzer. Service was ok.

We chose the city harbor for our wedding celebration and are more than happy with this decision. Stefan gave us very good advice and, if we had previously driven ourselves crazy, he calmed us down with his calm demeanor. The food was very good and the service staff was absolutely outstanding! Both in the kitchen and behind the counter, we can only speak highly of this strong team. We were asked several times by our guests that evening how noticeably good the service was; the entire team was very courteous and attentive. We had a wonderful evening, thank you very much! The location is great and I like the rustic feel. The menu is clear but a bit expensive. The taste is ok and the service is typical Ruhrpott.

Very cool atmosphere, both inside and outside. We were first inside and had dinner, then later outside on the loungers on the sand with a cocktail and I have to admit that I sometimes forgot that I was in Recklinghausen and not on holiday at the beach. You can sit inside, outside on the terrace or on the loungers in the sand. With the latter you get the drinks yourself at the bar. The restaurant is very busy when the weather is nice, but unfortunately you can't make a reservation - you're either lucky and find a place or you aren't. When we were there it was very crowded, so we had to wait a long time for our food. But the wait was worth it! Due to the surrounding area, there aren't too many parking spaces; it's best to get there on foot or by bike.

A very nice restaurant that invites you to have a nice time together. We had breakfast for two (Serpme), everything was delicious, sufficient and it was refilled. Tea and juice were included. Price was absolutely ok. We sat comfortably and the waitress came regularly to ask for any requests. I can recommend it with a clear conscience. 👍👍👍

Eigentlich war bis zum Jahr 2023 alles okay. Die Getränke, das Essen und nette Bedienung. Ab diesem Jahr konnte man das Essen vergessen. Wegen Änderung der Speisekarte (wir wollten Pulled Pork mit Folienkartoffel - super lecker immer) haben wir uns für Kibbeling und Currywurst entschieden. Kibbeling war aus der Tiefkühltruhe und die Currywurst hatte einen widerlichen Geschmack. Die Bedienung war bemüht, jedoch nicht so professionell wie bisher. Für das Ambiente alleine kommen wir nicht mehr, zumal es gute andere Lokale mit hervorragendem Essen gibt

We had our company's summer party there this year, which unfortunately literally fell through the cracks🫣 It was pouring rain🥲Despite the bad weather, the location was good. I would classify the atmosphere as “Bohemian Style”. Very nicely done, not kitschy overloaded. It offered a lot of space, including in the outdoor area, which was covered and expanded with large parasols so that it was easy to move around and also sit outside. Unfortunately, due to the rain, we weren't able to put our feet in the sand and try out the lounge chairs. But we will catch up on that. The service was very attentive and always provided us all with enough drinks. The grill buffet we had was good, there was something for everyone. Whether meat, vegetarian or vegan, everyone got their money's worth. Highly recommended.

It's a place where I would like to have a coffee while sitting on the beach. The coffee was terrible, so I decided to buy ice cream, but they didn't have any left, so I found one later. cake, cake, etc. don't exist anyway

Schönes Ambiente mit nettem Personal. Kleine aber feine Karte, auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert!

Oase Sehr zuvorkommende Bedienung. Preise sind -denke ich- dem Ambiente angemessen.

In allem Punkten eine mega entspannte Atmosphäre wo man von super freundlichen Personal leckeres Essen zu einem vernünftigen Preis serviert bekommt 😊
