So schön wie es auch ist, war das Essen leider nicht so lecker. Die Speisekarte ist seeeeehr einfach gehalten. Leider nichts besonderes. Ne Pommes Currywurst kostet genau so viel ne Hafen Poutine.

Zu wenig Personal, daher lange Wartezeiten. Personal nicht besonders motiviert. Getränkemischungen (Aperol Spritz) mit Wasser ‚gestreckt‘. Vorspeise muss mit Hauptgericht ‚geliefert‘ werden. Die Toiletten waren sehr schmutzig, im Pissoir-Bereich überall Urin auf dem Boden. Essen geschmacklich OK, mehr nicht.

Also nicht mehr so gut wie es war, Essensangebot sehr überschaubar und eher schlecht, Getränke Auswahl ist semi gut . Der schöne Sand ( das war das „High light“) ist ungepflegt mit lauter Zigarettenkippen und diversem Dreck. Hier wird runter gewirtschaftet. Sehr sehr traurig.

Freundliches Personal, gutes Essen.

Sehr schöne Idee aber es wird zu wenig in die Pflege des Ambientes investiert. Der einstmals tolle Strand ist übersät von Zigarettenkippen und die Hängematten haben ihre besten Zeiten leider auch schon hinter sich.

Ich war immer sehr gerne Gast in diesem Restaurant, doch mein letzter Besuch war leider eine einzige Enttäuschung. Bereits zu Beginn fiel der Kellner durch ein sehr ungepflegtes Erscheinungsbild auf – ein sichtbar verschmutztes T-Shirt hinterlässt im Servicebereich keinen guten Eindruck. Hinzu kam, dass er äußerst langsam arbeitete, grundlegende Abläufe im Service nicht beherrschte und offenbar weder die Speisekarte noch die angebotenen Gerichte kannte. Teilweise mussten wir ihm sogar erklären, welche Gerichte überhaupt auf der Karte stehen. Bei Außentemperaturen von 38 Grad fehlten zudem ständig Eiswürfel, teilweise sogar die Gläser zu den Getränkeflaschen. Der absolute Tiefpunkt kam jedoch, als der Kellner seine Schicht beenden wollte und zu unserem Tisch kam, um abzurechnen – obwohl unser Essen bis dahin noch gar nicht serviert worden war. Als wir ihn freundlich darauf hinwiesen, reagierte er mit der Frage, ob wir überhaupt bei ihm bestellt hätten. Er habe keine Bestellung vorliegen. Erst nach längerem Gespräch erinnerte er sich schließlich doch daran und erklärte, es habe wohl ein technisches Problem gegeben, weshalb die Bestellung nicht übermittelt worden sei. Anschließend fragte er uns ernsthaft, ob wir das Essen denn jetzt überhaupt noch haben möchten. Wir bestätigten unsere Bestellung erneut. Bis zu diesem Punkt hätte man den Vorfall noch als unglückliche Verkettung von Umständen ansehen können. Was danach folgte, war jedoch das unprofessionellste Verhalten, das ich jemals in einem Restaurant erlebt habe. Statt sich für die Fehler zu entschuldigen, beschuldigte uns der Kellner plötzlich, wir seien unfreundlich, und wurde persönlich. Ein weiterer Kellner stand daneben und beobachtete die gesamte Situation, ohne einzugreifen. Als ich darum bat, den Vorgesetzten zu sprechen, erklärte der Kellner, er selbst sei der Vorgesetzte. Daraufhin verlangte ich den Chef – dieser erschien jedoch trotz Ankündigung nie. Da die Situation immer unangenehmer wurde und der Kellner sich zunehmend aufbrausend verhielt – er ballte zwischenzeitlich sogar die Faust, wohlgemerkt gegenüber einer Frau – bat ich den anderen Mitarbeiter, ihn von unserem Tisch wegzuschicken. Anschließend übernahm eine andere Kellnerin unseren Tisch. Sie war freundlich, bemüht und die einzige Person, die an diesem Abend professionell gearbeitet hat. Leider konnte auch das Essen den Abend nicht mehr retten. Bei mehreren Gerichten fehlten Bestandteile oder sie schmeckten schlichtweg nicht. Die Location selbst ist wirklich schön und hat viel Potenzial. Umso bedauerlicher ist es, dass der mangelhafte Service und die schlechte Qualität des Essens den gesamten Eindruck zunichtemachen. Ich bin immer gerne hierher gekommen – nach diesem Erlebnis wird das jedoch definitiv mein letzter Besuch gewesen sein. Von mir gibt es daher leider keine Empfehlung.

Unser Essen war eine Katastrophe, schlechte Frikandel ( verdorben) und ne Currywurst sowie die Pommes total überwürzt. Getränke waren okay...Service war auch in Ordnung . An sich ein schönes Lokal zum Entspannen und Genießen....

Nette Atmosphäre, Cocktails gefühlt ohne Alkohol und man bekommt Sie in Plastikbechern serviert. Alles etwas teuer dafür…

Ich war heute zum ersten Mal hier und muss sagen, es ist ein Stück Mittelmeer mitten im Pütt. Es ist ein toller Ort für Ruhe und ein gemütliches zusammen sein mit Familie, Freunden und Kollegen: innen. Ich komme gerne wieder, es wsr einfach toll.

Tolle Atmosphäre und schöne Tische zum Entspannen. Das essen und die Getränke kommen super schnell und der preis ist auch super. Das Personal ist sehr nett und die Lage direkt am Wasser einfach toll.

Es ist schmutzig, überall hängen Spinnweben.

Das Essen war gar nicht lecker. Das Schnitzel bestand fast ausschließlich aus Panade, die Pommes hart und klebten als Klumpen zusammen. Auch vom Flammkuchen blieb die Hälfte auf dem Teller zurück und die Frage, ob wir den Rest mitnehmen möchten, konnten wir nur ablehnen.

Super Atmosphäre mit dezenter Sommermusik im Hintergrund. Man hat die Möglichkeit, im Restaurant, auf der Terrasse oder mit echtem Strandfeeling auf der Sandfläche in Sonnenliegen unter Sonnenschirmen die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Dazu ein kühles Bierchen und leckeres Essen – einfach perfekt. Eine tolle Location, um einen entspannten Sommerabend zu genießen. Auch für eine Pause während einer Fahrradtour sehr empfehlenswert. Hier kann man neue Energie tanken und die entspannte Atmosphäre genießen. 🚴‍♂️☀️🍻🏖️

Tolle Location mit Strandbar und Blick auf den Hafen und Kanal.

Update 2026: Bin immer wieder gern hier. Der Pornstar ist richtig gut, nur die Preise mittlerweile echt grenzwertig - Hier könnten Tagesangebote vielleicht helfen, so aber leider nur ab und an mal für ein Weizen und die Location zu empfehlen. Essen bleibt bei 2/10 das könnte der Stadthafen deutlich besser aber ist vielleicht auch garnicht so sehr gewollt. Service super lieb. Update 2024: Preise sind kräftig gestiegen, schade dass so ein Cut gemacht wird und ein längerer Abend tief ins Portmonee geht. Essen ist okay, Getränke auch - kein Highlight und Convenience die zu dem Preis halt eigentlich frische Küche erwarten lässt - leider nicht der Fall. Zum chillen am Abend bei 1-2 Bier aufgrund der reinen location empfehlenwert, kulinarisch und preislich gibt es wesentlich bessere Adressen. ----------------- Schöne Location, Bedienung sehr freundlich und bemüht Wer Salat und Burger anbietet, stapelt kulinarisch tief und SOLLTE dann dabei nicht enttäuschen - tun Sie aber. Der Patty des Burgers war "tot"gebraten, der Salat mit Hähnchenstreifen einfallslos und das Hähnchen ebenso trocken wie hart - das war ein Fiasko. Das nachbestellte Baguette mit Aioli wurde ca 25 Minuten nach Bestellung gebracht, nachdem wir bereits fertig waren mit dem Essen - dies haben wir dann zurückgehen lassen. Positiv hervorheben möchte ich, dass wir das ganze angesprochen haben auf Nachfrage ob alles OK sei, der Burger wurde nicht berechnet und ein Freigetränk angeboten, was wir jedoch dankend ablehnten. Der Inhaber verschenkt hier viel Potenzial durch eine katastrophale Küche. Schade, wir werden andere Alternativen in Zukunft bevorzugen.

Die Lokation ist einfach unschlagbar. Die Speisenkarte hat sich in den letzten Jahren allerdings so gut wie kaum geändert. Sehr schade.

Schöner Ort um in der Sonne zu relaxen

Ein sehr schöner Ort um bei schönem Wetter die Seele baumeln zu lassen, ein klein wenig wie Urlaub nach der Arbeit. Der Service war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich, die Preise sind akkurat, das Essen sah gut aus 👍 und das mitten im Pott.

Talles Ambiente. Langsamer Service und das Essen naja

Lokation wirklich schön. Essen hat uns auch geschmeckt. Getränke gingen gar nicht. Aperol hat nur nach Prosecco geschmeckt, der Caipirinha hat nach Kirschsaft geschmeckt. Er kam wohl aus einer Fertigpackung und mir wurde dann gesagt der sieht hier immer so aus. Dann darf auch nicht auf der Karte stehen welche Zutaten in den Cocktails sind, denn das stimmt überhaupt nicht.

Im Vergleich zum letzten Jahr ist die Speisekarte deutlich kleiner geworden. Es gibt 1 Burger, Flammkuchen und Speisen wie Currywurst. Einfaches Essen, aber es schmeckt und ist peislich in Ordnung. Der Service ist jedes Mal freundlich und man muss nie lange auf neue Getränke warten. Für einen geselligen, entspannten Abend mit Freunden ohne große Ambitionen ist der Stadthafen top. Kommen gerne her!

Wir haben hier was getrunken und unsere Kinder haben etwas gespielt. Schöner kleiner Strand. Tolle moderne Location.

Sehr wetterabhängig. Sehr gut, wenn die Sonne scheint, Hängematten, Sandstrand... Wie die Küstenrestaurants in z.B. Den Haag. Schönes Flair, essen werde ich da aber nur noch Pommes oder Currywurst. Oder beides zusammen. Ich lass die Finger vom pulled Chicken und irgendwelche Bowls.

Service läuft links und rechts, kann aber nicht für Ordnung und Sauberkeit sorgen. 20 Minuten gewartet und eigenständig Bedienung zu uns geholt, während andere Tische immer noch nicht abgeräumt wurden. Zudem gibt es keine Raucherecke - Zigarettengeruch hat einfach jeder freiwillig zu seinem Essen bekommen.

Schöner Strand-Betrieb, eine kleine Ruhrgebiets-Oase

An sich ein schöner Laden und auch nette Kellner , Aber viel zu wenig Kellner für den Laden , man wartet Ewigkeiten auf sein Getränk und aufs bezahlen . Die Kellner können dazu Nichts , der Chef sollte vielleicht mal 1-2 mehr Leute einstellen oder besser organisieren .

Service reinste Katastrophe, mann wird ignoriert 1 std auf Nuggets mit Pommes für die kids gewartet. Zweites Getränk bestellen fast unmöglich wenn mann doch das Glück hatte die erste runde bestellen zu dürfen.

Also Essen war jetzt kein Highlight und wir sprechen nicht von aufwendigen Essen (Burger und Salat). Dafür fande ich den Preis schon sehr überzogen. Aber das Ambiente, d.h. Einrichtungen, Lage und Ausblick 10/10.

Heute war ich bei der Wiedereröffnung für die Saison 2026 im Stadthafen Recklinghausen. Urlaubsfeeling pur! Gute Stimmung, relaxte Musik, leckeres Essen und Getränke. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und flott unterwegs👍. Für die kleinen Kids ist der riesige „Sandkasten“ ein Eldorado. Hier kann die gesamte Familie einen entspannten Aufenthalt verbringen. Danke an das Team vom Stadthafen. Das ist eine echte Bereicherung. Ich wünsche allen gutes Wetter für eine gelungene Saison. Ellen aus Tönisvorst

Die gestrige Summer Island Party war aus gastronomischer Sicht eine Katastrophe! Es wurde in einer geschlossenen Gastronomie Pfand auf Gläser verlangt, damit man die Gläser zurück bringt. Dies zwang einen zum ewigen Anstehen an der Theke, an der sich vor überfordertem Personal riesige Schlangen bildeten. Es war nicht ein einziges Mal ein Kellner zum Wegräumen und Säubern unterwegs. Dementsprechend sah die Umgebung und auch die Toiletten aus. Zudem wurde überall geraucht. Das war nichts für anspruchsvolle Gäste!

Einrichtung ist klasse, sehr gute Bedienungen, lecker Essen

Wir waren zu viert zum ersten Mal hier. Der Biergarten hat eine schöne Lage ganz in der Nähe des Wassers. Die Gerichte sind lecker und haben ein gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Der Service hat sich Mühe gegeben. Wir werden dieses Ziel sicher mal wieder in unsere Radtour integrieren.

Yes, what is that? Amazing. A beach club right in the middle of the harbor. 🏖🍹🌞 Sandy beach, lounge chairs, cocktails or other (cold) drinks, snacks, chilled music, friendly service—what more could you want? And next door is a large harbor crane. Ruhrpott romance. 😊

A lovely afternoon was ruined by the waitress and waiter, both unfriendly, talking to us as if we were the lowest of the low, rudeness is just too kind, I can't put it into words. They brought us the wrong food and argued with us instead of taking it away and bringing us the right thing. Absolutely awful!! The drinks we ordered were not brought, instead we kept the bill even though we were still sitting peacefully, that was a huge shock for all of us. We paid and wanted to speak to the person in charge, but were put through to a young bartender who couldn't care less about our request, the waiter then came over and continued arguing with us, it's totally damaging to business to employ people like that who don't know how to deal with guests. We have never been treated so badly, anywhere. Mistakes can happen but unfortunately the work ethic and friendliness are not there. It's a shame for a restaurant like this to employ such staff.

Absolutely unacceptable!!! Two of us were there, ordered a burger and a frikandell. Waited over an hour for our food, and by that time, people who came after us had already left, full. Of the hour and a quarter we waited, the burger probably spent three-quarters of an hour under the salamander to keep warm. The bun and meat were dried out and so hard you couldn't even cut through them with a knife. Our first and definitely last time there.

The schnitzel was too small for the price, and the burger wasn't anything special. The service was friendly but quite slow. The location is a bit worth it. First and definitely last time.

Nice location well hidden in Recklinghausen

The food is worse than in the past. Regarding the service, I have to say it's so bad that I'm sometimes at a loss for words. There were four of us there (2 pairs), and now we wanted to give the place another chance after the disaster two weeks ago. The waiter, or whoever he thinks he is, was very rude and impolite. He acted as if he owned the place. He was also way too slow and completely overwhelmed by the whole thing. The best thing about the Stadthafen is the location. The operator/owner should urgently do something different. But the service and food are disastrous. Sometimes I wonder how people rate it. But no one can tell me it was tasty. I currently don't recommend it!

Highly recommended for the end of the working day

We love it here. It's always a nice break from everyday life, almost like a mini-vacation. The food is fantastic and the staff are all very friendly. It would be even nicer if there were a few more shady spots.

We've been regulars at the Recklinghausen City Harbor for years and were delighted when the season started again and the new team brought the harbor to life. Initially, things were promising, but unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly over the last two months. The biggest problem is staffing: There are too few waiters, which results in very long waits, not just on weekends, but also on Mondays and Tuesdays. Today, we had to wait over half an hour again before anyone even came. The service staff themselves make an effort and aren't at fault; the problem here is the organization and rostering. It's a shame, but let's hope for next season!

Great beach bar Very friendly service

After 20 minutes, I finally got a waiter's attention. He thought we were paying and left without taking our order, saying, "I'll go over there and be right back." The waiter didn't come back and kept going to other tables. After another 10 minutes, I was able to speak to another waitress. She was already groaning audibly and said they had a hold on orders and she'd be right back. Not all, but many tables were still served during that time. The others looked just as dissatisfied. After another five minutes, we finally got up. I can understand a lack of staff if you actively approach customers, explain things, and maybe even meet them halfway. However, here, the waiter deliberately ignored new customers and avoided eye contact. The way things went here, we won't be back. Driving a long way just to leave hungry and thirsty is really not customer-friendly.

A very nice place to relax after a walk. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The prices are fair. Unfortunately, we can't comment on the food, as we only had drinks.

The food was okay. I was there two years ago, when there was more choice. Now it's just a quick meal, which isn't even anything special.

This was our last time there. Every time, something went wrong. The service was a disaster. The waitress couldn't take our order for drinks and food because we were sitting at a large table with four other people, and apparently, they could only book two tables at that table. No solution was offered. We then went to the Stadtgrenze pub, where the beer was a euro cheaper and we could spend our money. Stadthafen obviously doesn't want to make money.

That was cool. Almost like a vacation...

The menu needs some work. Why not try hiring a chef? That would help. The staff is super friendly. The atmosphere is fantastic. We'd love to come back for a drink.

...Years after Corona, I have to revise my review... Some young people in the service, but very attentive and friendly... I only had a latte myself, but I noticed that all the other guests who ordered food seemed very satisfied and quite happy with it... Here and now, the restaurant seemed very tidy, clean, and definitely makes you feel welcome... I'll gladly come back more often and order a few dishes to go with my truly delicious latte... Thanks to the young waiter who brought me a bowl of water for each of my dogs, even though he was relatively busy with the terrace being so busy...😘 OLD REVIEW ⭐⭐⭐ *A relatively solid impression, but overall, unfortunately, it didn't seem very clean or particularly professional... But you can overlook it if it doesn't bother you... 😬*

So far, everything's fine except for the beach chairs. They're very worn and some are broken.

Very nicely done, unfortunately there's no barrier around the harbor, and some of the tables have nails visible. The play tower wasn't completely nail-free either. A father removed or defused the visible nails. Still, a small blessing for parents, who can enjoy a drink and a snack within sight. The sand was clean, and there were toys lying around.

A nice venue in itself, but quite dated. Very uncomfortable benches, worn-out cushions, and way too loud music. Despite the few other sounds, it was almost impossible to have a conversation. The food and drinks arrived promptly and were delicious. Veltins is something to talk about... 😅

We love it there! It's always like a little vacation, a little time out, just sitting on the sand, relaxing with a drink, or eating something delicious in the restaurant with its beautiful terrace. It's worth it!

If the location is everything... The tables and high chairs were sticky, and there were broken pieces on the floor. The food was like an upscale chip shop and was lukewarm, but expensive. Would I go back? Not really. There are better chain restaurants. Cafe del Sol, etc., or the good old chip shop.

I was there for the first time today with four other people at 3 p.m. The atmosphere in today's sunshine was fantastic🌞, the Heineken was ice-cold, the poutine, burgers, and chocolate ice cream were delicious and plentiful, and the service was very attentive and prompt. The prices are perfectly reasonable these days. You should also get there early if you're driving; unfortunately, parking is rather limited. Nevertheless, we'd love to come back 😊

Sell ​​a 1€ ice cream for three times the price

Nice location, very chilled, friendly and fast service, but the strawberry sundae was unfortunately totally disappointing. Three scoops of vanilla ice cream from a box, whipped cream, chemical strawberry sauce, and exactly one(!) strawberry cut into quarters. What a shame.

It's very nice there, and the staff is friendly. One point deducted is that you get your starter at the same time as your meal. They should have it delivered beforehand, or they should have asked what you'd like.

A beautiful place to relax, a moment of respite from the rush of everyday life. Delicious beer, prices ok.

So, where do we start? The atmosphere is great, there's nothing to complain about. But today was our last visit to you. We waited 45 minutes and weren't served. Of course you're busy when the weather is nice, but then you shouldn't have more tables than you can serve. I'll just mention in passing that our table was still covered in pasta and ketchup leftovers from someone else's table, the table was covered in cigarette ash, and it certainly hadn't seen a damp cloth today. Thank you, we enjoyed going there before, but not anymore. I hope you get your act together before more customers post their experiences here publicly.

A place to be in Recklinghausen! Absolutely chilled-out spot! Pure canal culture! Good music. Clean sand, great location. Definitely something for canal romantics. Ideal for couples.

I went out to eat with my girlfriend today. I personally would have liked to review the food if I'd been served any. I'm also a server, but forgetting one of my two meals has never happened to me before, considering that the order goes directly from the table to the kitchen. At least the waiter made an effort to apologize; I might have offered him a coffee or something similar as compensation. Well, at least my companion got his fill, so I went to a snack bar. It was delicious and I was full. Also, the tables were dirty, full of ashtrays, food scraps stuck to the table, and the cards were so wet you couldn't open them. Luckily, there were plenty of other dirty tables...but the cards were dry... Bottom line...you'd have to pay me to go there again!!! Perhaps an experienced restaurant manager would help.

Yesterday, on Father's Day, I went to the Stadthafen Recklinghausen with my family for the first time, where we wanted to have lunch. The menu was more than concise, but that doesn't mean anything. The dishes listed sounded good, though. Among other things, they serve so-called poutine dishes. Poutine is a Canadian dish consisting of French fries with grated cheese and gravy. Actually!!! I ordered the Hafen-Poutine. According to the menu, it also came with currywurst, fried onions, green onions, coleslaw, and mayo. And what did I get? Anyway, no poutine, just currywurst and fries WITHOUT mayo. And when I complained, they just said they didn't have any cheese or gravy. And the missing mayo was ignored. There was no goodwill or discount involved. Truly disappointing! If you advertise a dish, you have to deliver it, otherwise it's a rip-off!

The location is top, service is friendly and attentive, everything is good, would go back anytime 👍

We went to eat at the Stadthafen with our three children last night. There was something for everyone, top-notch service, delicious food, and a great atmosphere 👍🏻 We even had dessert, and I have to say the kids (and us too, of course) loved the main course and dessert so much that all three of them ate their plates clean, which doesn't happen often 🤣 Conclusion: We'll be back more often from now on. It was a perfect evening.
