We had a great evening here with friends. We had a delicious meal and the staff is attentive and friendly. We will definitely come here more often. The new photo is from our breakfast in the inn. It was very rich. We would have been full even with three people. The bread was also very tasty.

I was there for a social dinner and I have to say that the Lowenbrau beer was really good. The salmon as a main course was nothing special, the vegetable side dishes were a little undercooked. Very helpful and welcoming staff as well as the really nice environment.

I was in the pub with a friend this evening and have rarely experienced such unmotivated conditions as today. The first order went quickly, but then we weren't even asked for another drink for 2 1/2 hours, even though the waiter was at the neighboring tables. From around 8 p.m. everything was tidied up and cleaned. When I asked when it closed when I was paying, they said it varies. To the specific question when today the answer was in an hour. I felt more thrown out than welcome. The food was okay.

Very tasty salads, very diversely mixed in great variations! Schnitzels are tender and well fried, also a hot tip!! Ambience very appealing and not so loud despite being busy. The service could have been a little more attentive but it was also quite busy so that can happen sometimes. We'll be back!!

Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere. I wasn't really convinced about the food based on what I saw on the internet. I think it was more convenience food. Looked like this (very even) didn't taste bad but also not as advertised and expected. I was expecting selected meat and was more likely to find ready-made schnitzel. I chose the “Jägerschwinerei”.

We were at the restaurant early in the evening. The restaurant was poorly attended. There were some service staff in the restaurant. Food and drink menus were on the table so that you could see what you wanted. It took more than 15 minutes from assigning a table to taking the drinks order. A discreet hint was repeatedly ignored. But the other guests didn't fare any better here. A rhubarb and apple spritzer had a minimal splash of fruit. Empty glasses for guests are not a good sign, and the service should see this and, if necessary, ask if the guest would like anything else. None. The ambience was nice - service was a total failure. Maybe I'll test it again at some point, but until then I don't have any recommendations.

NO RECOMMENDATION!! We were there with 6 people. The majority of the food (starter/main course) was lukewarm to cold. Like it was reheated and cooked somewhere else hours before. Knuckle tough, sauerkraut overcooked. Dumplings out of a package? Bavarian cuisine is really very different. And the prices are impressive! The waitress was very friendly, but couldn't save the disaster. We certainly won't be going there a second time. Too bad about the money. Better to find another tenant and cooks who know their craft. We voluntarily gave up the Kaiserschmarrn so as not to make things worse.

The food is in the bottom drawer, soup ordered - cold, complained about - still only luke warm. I didn't want to risk it a third time. Main course goulash with bread dumplings. Bread dumplings are tiny and how could it be otherwise, cold of course. No thanks, I'm fully served. Very bad for the prices quoted. Never this restaurant again.

I actually like the inn and enjoy being there, but today's visit was... different. The food was delicious as always, but it started when we were told when we ordered that the current seasonal menu was no longer valid. But it wasn't put away either. After a while, a service person, without any further communication, put a sign on our table that it would be reserved for someone else from 6 p.m. At around 4:30 p.m. the first participants said goodbye to our group, which is why we all paid, and while my friend and I were still thinking about ordering something else, we were asked by another waitress to leave because the reservation was from the 18th I'll be there at noon and wait. We then left the inn surprised. Unpleasant.

Lots to complain about - nothing to do. Unfortunately, I had a really negative experience on my last visit. First of all, despite being half full at best, it took what felt like ages for drinks and especially food - which was then only available upon request - to arrive. These took a long time to arrive until a plate finally arrived, the value of which could at least be debated to some extent. The crowning achievement was that some of the mushrooms were completely cold. After making a comment, the (really nice) waitress asked me whether I wanted just the mushrooms or the whole plate. Since I was accompanied, I chose the former as it seemed quicker. Another 10-15 minutes later I got my plate back: with warm mushrooms and some fried potatoes, but also at a time when my companion was already finished and I was quite annoyed or disappointed. When I was asked to pay the full amount, I asked for something to be done... because for the full price the entire situation was really a joke. Again the waitress did her best, but “there was nothing we could do about the price” was the agreement with the boss. For over €50 I felt the visit was a complete failure and I certainly won't be coming back any time soon. I also found the way the waitress' superior handled it extremely unfortunate. A personal explanation would have been nice and, in my opinion, the absolute minimum. I turned down the extremely generous offer of a coffee on the house.

Food was really good and tasty. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for drinks and to order new ones, we had the feeling that we were a bit overwhelmed and the dishwasher was more important. Maybe we had a bad day? Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was also right.

Das Wirtshaus Herne überzeugt mit einem charmanten Ambiente und einer sehr gemütlichen Atmosphäre, die zum Verweilen einlädt. Die Einrichtung ist liebevoll gestaltet, und man fühlt sich direkt willkommen. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die Speisekarte: eine gelungene Mischung aus traditioneller Bayrischer Küche und kreativen Gerichten. Der Geschmack der Speisen war hervorragend, auch wenn mein Essen leider etwas lauwarm serviert wurde. Der Service war freundlich und bemüht, allerdings hätte er etwas aufmerksamer sein können – an manchen Stellen hat es etwas länger gedauert, bis Bestellungen aufgenommen oder Wünsche erfüllt wurden. Insgesamt ist das Wirtshaus Herne jedoch ein tolles Lokal mit viel Herz und einer authentischen Note. Kleine Abstriche im Service und bei der Temperatur des Essens mindern den positiven Gesamteindruck nur geringfügig. Ich komme gerne wieder!

Wir hatten einen Tisch mit Freunden am Kamin reserviert. Die Bedienung war recht freundlich und die Speisen waren schmackhaft und vom Preisniveau noch o.k. Die Lokation ist angenehm und gemütlich eingerichtet. Tipp: vorab rechnen was man verzehrt hat. Wir werden hier noch öfter hingehen.

The nice thing was that we had reserved a table for 5 people inside, but we took advantage of the great weather and sat outside. Great, then we ordered our food, it looked really great when we brought it, the taste was great, the service was great, everything was right here, even the price. One thing is certain: we will all come together here again to eat. 👍👍👍

I've been to the inn three times now on different occasions and I have to say I'm completely thrilled. Absolutely no comparison with other neighboring restaurants. The food has always been fresh, the prices are absolutely reasonable for the portions, the quality and how they are prepared. You shouldn't expect newfangled fusion cuisine, it's just a pub and they stay true to the motto: hearty, sumptuous, filling. The fact that everything, including drinks, has become a little more expensive is now the case almost everywhere and therefore for me it is not a defect in that sense. The seasonal menu is absolutely great and the fact that there are also seasonal drinks was also a nice surprise. In addition, the service was impeccable, friendly, super reliable and accommodating, even after several hours and drinks we hadn't been forgotten and there was always a nice conversation in between. You don't experience something like that very often anymore and it surprised me extremely positively. A great compliment to the staff! The restaurant is also very nice and comfortably furnished, everything is clean, including the toilets. It's definitely my new favorite place.

Wir waren gestern Abend mit der Familie spontan im Wirtshaus Herne essen. Meine Frau und ich haben Bratkartoffeln mit Spiegelei geordert - gräuslich! Die Bratkartoffeln al dente, die Spiegeleier 3x durch gebraten, zum annageln an die Wand. Wenn ein Koch solch ein einfaches Gericht nicht beherrscht, wie sind dann erst seine höherwertigen Gerichte? Dieser Koch hätte in meinem Betrieb keine Zukunft!

First day of vacation and we wanted to have lunch here. In the best weather we found a nice table outside today around 1:00 p.m. Presto, found something on the map and... waited. Apparently our table didn't belong to the young man and a young female waitress looked at me in a friendly way three times - but outside she only served the other side. Therefore we cannot rate the food and you have to give a point for the service, which was actually non-existent. We now sit a few meters away and wait for our food 😀.

After being a regular at Wirtshaus Herne for about 9 months, and because of the beautiful ambience and the very friendly service, I sometimes turned a blind eye when the fried potatoes were a little too black or too fatty or the side dish was different from what I liked I ordered a glass of wine there for the first time yesterday. Since the 0.2 liter wine cost almost 8 euros, I assumed it must be particularly delicious. But I found it inedible. When I asked the owner if I could return it and have another one, I wasn't even offered a small discount. Since I didn't have the right side dish on my plate again this time, this shop was done for me.

It's great that this restaurant enlivens Herne's city center. At the tables at Robert Brauner Platz you can enjoy a beautiful view of the pedestrian zone. The interior design interprets the tavern theme in a modern way, and it's all very successful. However, the quality of the food is nowhere near that of Bavarian or Austrian inns. Little seems to be homemade or homemade. There is still a lot of room for improvement. Praise for the friendly staff.

Die Getränke kamen recht schnell, auf die bestellten Gerichte mussten wir ohne erkennbaren Grund allerdings lange warten. Geschmacklich okay, aber kein Highlight. Anderes Konzept, aber die eher mittelmäßige Qualität der Produkte erinnert stark an z.B. Café del Sol. Man könnte einfach mehr aus dem Laden machen. Bisschen schade.

The Herne Wirtshaus is located on the ground floor of the Neue Höfe Herne. The furnishings are modern and rustic. The food we ordered was fresh, tasty and perfectly prepared. The drinks were also good. The food and drink offering offers plenty of alternatives, including vegetarian ones. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. The restaurant offers a sufficient number of seating options. There is also a spacious outdoor area.

The inn in Herne is always worth a visit. The quality of the food is very good and I have yet to find a dish on the menu that I don't like. As a vegetarian, I can't understand the criticism about the lack of vegetarian dishes at all, because the menu explicitly shows vegetarian and vegan dishes. In addition, I have never experienced such a willingness to even veganize dishes in any restaurant. Everything that is possible is implemented here. Service is very important here and people are always very courteous and attentive.

Since the opening of this restaurant, a group of 6 people have been going there regularly for breakfast! At the beginning we were very happy with the portions but now we are saving on everything. For example, the morning grumpy breakfast with old Gouda and mountain cheese! Previously nice thick slices of old Gouda cut and decorated with a lettuce leaf, now carelessly grated onto the half of the roll!! (It's not on the menu, for example) The mountain cheese also came without salad and with two wafer-thin triangles of cheese. After our complaint it was taken back and after 10 minutes we asked what that meant, which is what we always did. No, that's not true! It was served again and nothing changed except for a small lettuce leaf. This is how you lose customers!
