Die Haxe war groß und lecker, die Bratkartoffeln teilweise etwas bißfest.

Ich hätte gerne dem jungen Mann, der uns bewirtet hat, 7 Sterne gegeben. Absolut perfekt! Und für das schmale Budget so ein leckeres üppiges Mittagessen war schon Champions League!!!

Ich war mit meinem deutschen Freund dort und wir fanden es köstlich, von sehr guter Qualität.

Gestern waren wir zum ersten Mal im Wirtshaus Herne frühstücken. Trotz der extremen Hitze hatten wir einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt und ein tolles Frühstück. Die Speisekarte war für meinen Geschmack sehr gut aufgebaut. Wir haben verschiedene Gerichte bestellt und waren mit allem sehr zufrieden, es hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Kellnerinnen, die es bei der Hitze sicherlich nicht leicht hatten, waren durchweg freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tolles Lokal mit deftigen Menüs und einer Auswahl an Getränken. Sehr feeundliche, hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Schönes Aussenareal in der Herner Innenstadt, dass besonders in der warmen Jahreszeit zum Verweilen einlädt. Auch in der gemütlichen Gaststube gibt es anscheinend keinen Ort, der von der Fußgängerzone aus nicht einsehbar wäre. Hier gilt eindeutig: Gesehen werden. Nie wieder, das Fleisch war nicht durch und unsere Säfte waren einfach schlecht. Hatten alle Durchfall und Erbrechen dannach. Kann ich nicht weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren am 15.05.26 spontan hier. Service war nett und zuvorkommend. Bei den Getränken war die hausgemachte Limonade für „unseren Geschmack“ etwas verwässert sonst war alles gut. Das Essen war geschmacklich und optisch super auch hier hätte für „unseren Geschmack“ die Haxe etwas mehr Garzeit benötigt. Ansonsten alles top top top, wir kommen auf jeden Fall noch einmal vorbei.

Sehr enttäuschend. Getränke schnell bekommen. Lange Wartezeit der Bestellung, obwohl kein hoher Betrieb war. Nach Nachfrage erst Bestellung aufgenommen und hatten das Gefühl wir wurden vergessen. Nachdem mussten wir wieder lange warten bis irgendwas bekommen haben. Wir hatten fünf Bestellungen aufgenommen, zwei waren kalt nicht mehr heiß. Auf Anfrage wurde uns zwar angeboten es zu erwärmen, aber wir hatten Angst überhaupt heute nichts mehr zu essen was zu bekommen. Keine Entschuldigung oder ähnliches. Essen war so lala, könnte besser sein. Im allgemeinen sehr unzufrieden.

Wir wurden von einem jungen Mann bedient. Der Name stand leider nicht auf dem Beleg, sondern nur Schichtleiter 3. Der Service war hervorragend. Das Essen war mega, aber die freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung hat den Abend erst so richtig schön gemacht. Vielen Dank! Gerne wieder.

Unfassbar schlechter Laden. Wollten einfach was kaufen und wurden von einem jungen Mitarbeiter rausgeschmissen, nur weil wir kurz aufs Klo wollten. Absolut respektlos und kundenfeindlich. Nie wieder.

Sehr schönes Restaurant in Herne direkt in der City. Das Wirtshaus ist nach meinem Wissen ein Francaise vom Bavarium. Das garantiert immer eine sehr gute Atmosphäre, gute Getränke und einen aufmerksammen Service. Leider aber nur mittelmäßigkeit bei den Speisen, so auch hier in Herne. Salat und Pilze waren frisch zubereitet. Das Schnitzel Pressfleisch und die katastrophalen Bratkartoffeln (durchweicht, ohne Biss und auch irgendwie süß) ungenügend. Hier ist sicherlich noch Nachbesserung notwendig. Mit der Qualität kommen wir sicherlich nicht noch einmal um hier zu speisen.

Personal freundlich,Preis und Leistung ist Ok

Das kleine Tisch Buffet war so groß das das Mittagessen übersprungen werden konnte. Die Brötchen und das Brot noch warm und knusprig. Eier, Wurst und Käse üppig und von sehr guter Qualität. Ein Ort an dem ich nicht ein so gutes Frühstück vermutet hätte. Steht auf meiner Liste mit ganz oben

Ich war inzwischen des Öfteren im Wirtshaus ...meine ersten beiden Besuche hätten zur vollen Punktzahl geführt....einmal zum Frühstück Herner Stulle mit allem drum und dran, Service herzlich, schnell und zuvorkommend, beim zweiten Mal, Brettljause (wie man das auch immer nennt, also Brot, Wurst, Käse usw. ) die Wurst war definitiv vom Metzger und alles frisch und reichlich und auch die Bedienung wieder vom Feinsten...aber irgendwann muss da was passiert sein...das erste warme Essen, was ich bestellt habe, war, wie etliche andere Rezensoren auch schreiben, eher lau warm...Menge ging so, ... dann, nach einer Weile habe ich nochmal so eine Brettljause bestellt...und ich bin überzeugt, dass das verpackte Ware aus dem Discounter gewesen sein muss....die Servicekräfte sind mir gegenüber nie unfreundlich aufgetreten, aber teilweise unaufmerksam, vielleicht an der Schwelle zum Überfordertsein, aber das ist stark Personen- und auch Tagesformabhängig...was das Ambiente und die Hygiene angeht, gab es für mich nichts zu meckern ... aber mein bevorzugtes Ziel ist das Wirtshaus nicht mehr ... schade...am Anfang war es tatsächlich so, dass ich es weiter empfohlen habe ... vielleicht wird es wieder....

Preis hui, Leistung leider pfui – Die „Herner Currywurst“ für 13,95 € Ich habe hier den Klassiker bestellt: Die ‚Herner Currywurst‘ für 13,95 €. Wie man auf dem Foto sieht, ist die Umsetzung leider verunglückt. Die Wurst wirkte trocken und fast schon ‚nackt‘, da die Sauce kaum der Rede wert war. Getoppt wurde das Ganze mit ein paar Röstzwiebeln, die den Gesamteindruck aber auch nicht retten konnten. Die Portion Pommes dazu war für den aufgerufenen Preis mehr als überschaubar – im Herzen des Ruhrgebiets ist so eine Menge für fast 14 € eigentlich ein No-Go. Das kleine Glas Beilage wirkt da eher wie ein schwacher Trostpreis. Wer Hunger hat und ein ordentliches Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sucht, wird hier leider enttäuscht. Schade!

Ein freundlicher Empfang, freundliche Bedienung. Das Speisenangebot vielseitig und die ausgewählten Speisen waren sowohl geschmacklich und auch mengenmäßig sehr gut. Einzig, die etwas laute Musik wirkte auf uns für Gespräche doch etwas störend. Dennoch- empfehlenswert!

Ich hatte vorab nach einem Restaurant in Herne gesucht, das sowohl traditionelle Gerichte als auch vegetarische Gerichte anbietet. Das Wirtshaus in Herne verbindet beides ganz wunderbar! Das Ambiente ist super schön, vor allem der Gaskamin verbreitet eine richtig gemütliche Atmosphäre. Wir waren an einem frühen Freitagabend zum Abendessen hier und wurden sehr nett bedient. Neben dem Service hat uns auch das Essen absolut überzeugt. Alle Gerichte waren super lecker und die Portionen reichhaltig. Wir können als Dessert den Kaiserschmarrn sehr empfehlen. Auch die kleine Portion ist hier schon riesig! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Waren hier sonntags zum Frühstück und haben uns das Frühstücks Brett für 2 für 25€ bestellt War wirklich sehr lecker und vollkommen ausreichend. Croissants, Kartoffelbrötchen und mehrere wirklich dicke Scheiben leckeres Brot mit allem was man braucht: Schinken, Käse, Mett etc. Kommen gerne dafür wieder. Im Anschluss noch paar hausgemachte Waffeln und die 3000kcal waren gesichert. 👍

We were there in a larger group and I really enjoyed it. The restaurant is well-decorated and has a cozy atmosphere. The drinks were delicious, as was the food. Our server was lovely and efficient. She handled all our requests quickly and very kindly. We felt very comfortable and were able to sit for quite a while. It's a shame that some of our dishes were only lukewarm; otherwise, it certainly would have been a 5-star experience. I'll be back.

I had a wonderful evening with excellent food, friendly service, and great company. I had the hunter's pork with mushroom sauce, fried mushrooms, and roast potatoes (€18.95), which I highly recommend! A large portion, everything cooked to perfection, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. I would love to come back. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The restaurant was very busy at lunchtime. There's a daily specials menu with reasonable prices. Only the drinks aren't exactly cheap. There's plenty of seating inside and outside. The restaurant is located in Herne's city center. Parking is available nearby.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my visit to the restaurant. The food was neither particularly tasty nor thoroughly cooked, and it was served cold. The atmosphere was also rather uncomfortable, and the staff seemed unfriendly or unattentive. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this visit – a shame, I had hoped for much more.

Location looks good but service is very very bad. I was trying to find this place to leave my review to help other people because i didn't remember the name, but i am happy i found it. Worst place ever

Unfortunately, my visit to the Wirtshaus Herne was very disappointing. The staff was extremely unfriendly and seemed annoyed, even with simple questions. One had the impression that one was more of a nuisance than a welcome. Furthermore, there was a complete lack of professionalism—no smile, no effort to make one's stay pleasant. It's a shame, because the ambiance actually had potential, but the service completely ruined the entire impression. I definitely won't be coming back.

I visited the inn for the first time and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The service was really nice and friendly. The food was very good and tasted great. The only drawback was that I found the prices a bit too high.

Great shop right in Herne. Delicious food and good beer. The schnapps from Sasse are fantastic.

We (a team of three from Bavarian Swabia) visited Herne on September 5, 2025, and unfortunately arrived a bit late in the evening (around 9:30 p.m.). Many thanks to the young lady who welcomed us, and a warm welcome to the kitchen for making the end of the day so pleasant.

I love this restaurant! A relaxed atmosphere, and the service is always friendly, always providing drinks, and solution-oriented. Here you have the opportunity to enjoy southern German cuisine. The plates are beautifully presented and you'll be filling! Just visit the restaurant and see for yourself 👍🏽

I've always enjoyed coming here since it opened. The atmosphere was (and is) cozy both inside and out, whether in summer or winter. Unfortunately, they no longer have the comfortable benches with furs and blankets outside. The quality of the food has also seriously declined. It was always one of my favorite places in Herne. However, after my last visit, where I paid €17 for a small lunch with a drink, which unfortunately only deserves one star, I won't be going there again for a while. Incidentally, the women's restrooms are often in poor condition, which is something you don't want in a restaurant. You can still eat cake here, though.

Good food, good draft beer, pleasant and modern atmosphere and good service

The most expensive currywurst I've ever eaten. It was only lukewarm, and the fries were obviously leftovers from the last meal. My son ordered the same meal twice to fill himself up. The others weren't impressed either. Not recommended!

Excellent service, super friendly, fast, and very competent – something that's rare these days. The food was very attractively presented and tasted great. The portions were generous. All in all, highly recommended.

I've been walking past it for years now, a bit hesitant because it's a bit more expensive for me (around €20-30 per person, including a drink). Today, my fingers were itching more, and I finally went there. And what can I say... I regret waiting so long. The food was incredibly delicious. The fries were fresh and crispy. The staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was quite pleasant. Despite the construction site right there, I felt very comfortable. This was definitely not my last visit!

The only real improvement for the pedestrian zone since Karstadt left Herne. Despite a name and style that would be more appropriate in Bavaria, the inn is a real asset and a counterpoint to the (too) numerous discount and cell phone stores. Seating is comfortable both inside and outside, the food is varied, and the value for money is reasonable. The service is mostly good, too.

I've had it differently in the past, but today it's a solid A! Chicken schnitzel with mushrooms, fried potatoes, and salad. I don't eat salad, but today was my day. Very fresh and crisp salad, the food overall was excellent. The service was very attentive and extremely friendly. I'd be happy to come back.

We went to the pub for the first time yesterday, and it was world-class. Everything was just perfect. We'll bring more people from Dortmund next time.

The restaurant is clean and tidy, and pleasantly decorated. The food is tasty and plentiful. All in all, a place to linger.

The service was attentive and friendly. The spaetzle and spritzers are highly recommended. The fried potatoes, however, are less so, as they come in a bowl with salad and are very "mushy/wet." Furthermore, the soft drinks lack fizz and taste more like cheap versions. The restrooms are clean.

I was there with my mom. The waiter was very nice and attentive and even offered to turn on the patio heater, or rather, I could turn it on whenever I wanted, even though it wasn't cold outside. I even got a blanket when I was freezing. Such great service! Big compliments to such a waiter. The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was very cozy, and you'd want to spend the whole day there! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food used to be better, but more and more convenience foods are being incorporated into the dishes, and the staff is getting younger and younger, which unfortunately is causing the quality of service to decline. Due to the large construction site in front of the restaurant, outdoor seating is unfortunately only possible to a limited extent. I hope the city will finish it soon.

A shop called Wirtshaus that offers home-style food in terms of appearance and menu, I don't suspect of making good vegan and vegetarian food. But when I swapped the schnitzel for the vegetarian version in one dish, the kitchen proved how good it is. This was one of the best vegetarian schnitzels I have had in a restaurant. The staff was very nice, a bit slow the day we were there, but that can happen. Due to the size of the place, it quickly became quite loud, even though attempts were made to separate the areas from one another.

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch and ordered the schnitzel and a knuckle of pork. The food was absolutely delicious, and the waiters were all very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, it was very loud, and the music didn't quite fit the ambiance. If we go again, we would definitely sit at the window seats, as the chairs/benches there looked more comfortable. All in all, though, highly recommended!

A definite recommendation for delicious food in Herne. The restaurant looks extremely beautiful and has a truly impressive feel. It's very cozy and pleasant to sit there for a while. The beer is particularly good, and the option to order a liter of Bavarian beer fits perfectly with the concept, especially the name of the restaurant. The staff are always super friendly, and they're happy to leave a generous tip. Overall, one of the insider tips in the area for a nice meal.

I was looking forward to goulash with spinach dumplings and sauerkraut! What I got looked good, but only tasted sweet! If I don't want to eat a hearty dish despite being hungry, or can't because of my diabetes, that says a lot! In my opinion not edible! When I mentioned the unmotivated condition (I wasn't asked if it tasted good), she went into the kitchen with my food, came back, told me there was no sugar in it and because I had eaten three bites they couldn't cancel it! I think it's a disgrace to charge full price for a dish even though you can't eat it for health reasons! I find this inconsideration towards severely disabled people unacceptable!

Nice location, nice ambience and friendly staff. Quality of the food was very good. But: in addition to our fried egg with bread, we ordered a portion of bacon. Price per serving: €2.95 There were two slices of bacon on one plate and one slice on the other plate. The quantity should also be right for the price, hence the deduction from the stars.
