The fried potatoes were fresh! The food was very good. In my opinion the best restaurant in Grainau. Very clean and modern toilets. Price raised. EC card possible!

You're sure to find something here spontaneously, cozy atmosphere and friendly service. The food is completely sufficient and the price is also completely okay. It was very tasty and highly recommended.

The food is tasty. Unfortunately, the ladies in the restaurant were unpleasant. We had a reservation and after an hour the waitress told us to finish dinner because she had another reservation. I definitely don't recommend it!

The Spatzenhäusl was simply brilliant! Super tasty food, perfect portions and the price was more than fair. The service was warm and attentive - you immediately felt at home. All in all a great experience that I can only recommend to everyone!

So we ordered for 7 p.m. and got the table exactly. At 7:30 p.m. a lot of people came and stood next to the table. It's quaint in itself, but opinions can be divided. The food was great and arrived at the table very quickly, which may have been due to the Bavarian dishes. The boss (presumably) had the situation under control despite the rush of visitors. No tip payment by card possible.

My brother and I ate here three times during our hiking vacation. It was always very tasty. That's why I don't understand one star reviews. Very comfortably furnished and very nice, attentive service.

Last day before the company vacation with a slimmed-down menu. Despite many guests, some of whom were very impatient and stressed, the service was very nice to us. The food was good and plenty. The children loved the spaetzle.

The Spatzenhäus'l is a cozy restaurant and a good choice if you want something to eat and appreciate large portions. We were there very spontaneously and on the last day before the winter break and got a table within 35 minutes. It is pleasant that dogs, i.e. four-legged friends, are also warmly welcomed and the waitresses walk past them very considerately, even though we were sitting directly at the food counter in a full restaurant. A lot of regular guests probably come here because many of the visitors knew each other and there was a family atmosphere. The food tastes excellent, the portions are large and the prices are accurate and significantly cheaper than in the adjacent restaurant. That's why we'll be back and recommend Renate Hofer's Spatzenhäus'l to anyone who's spontaneously looking for something.

We quickly decided to reserve two seats (probably just in time) because guests arriving later had to be turned away by the attentive lady at the bar. So much routine, attention and genuine hospitality has become rare. Innkeepers know their stuff. We had a good look into the kitchen, where 2 very experienced employees (a great chef, a relaxed lady) prepared everything fresh(!), even the schnitzels were breaded in front of our eyes. The well and deliciously filled plates were quickly brought to the tables, while the friendly landlady briefly asked here whether it tasted good, there whether it should be another drink or seated people. It went hand in hand there, tasted great and there was no sense of hecticness despite the hustle and bustle. We'll be back.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. ‼️ When I was there with my family, the service was very unfriendly and rude. The reaction to our order was unclear with derision. 🤨 For our question, sitting next to windows: of course we got a rejection, even though there was no one there for the next 1.5 hours. The food was so bad! That I would run away straight away. Just a fat! Who can eat it?!

I absolutely loved the Spatzenhäus'l restaurant in the heart of Grainau. The service is extremely friendly and accommodating, you immediately feel welcome. The food is simply terrific – Bavarian cuisine at the highest level! Every dish is lovingly prepared and tastes fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and traditional, which fits perfectly with the surroundings of the Zugspitzdorf. Overall, a wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone who appreciates good food and warm hospitality. Definitely worth a visit!

Very good traditional Bavarian cuisine. If you want to eat here in the evening after the hike, I recommend making a reservation in advance. We came to the restaurant on a Sunday evening and it was very busy. The food and drinks came promptly and at the same time after ordering. We enjoyed it very much and would definitely come back.

If you want to eat really good and delicious food in Grainau, you've come to the right place. The individual dishes, something for everyone, are very tasty. The portions themselves are just right after a strenuous hike. In terms of price, everything is okay. Very nice atmosphere, you can also sit outside. The service is very good. Nice and friendly. The boss has everything under control, which is something you rarely see. A lot to do and always friendly and always a kind word for the guests. Great!! However, it is advisable to reserve a table in advance.

Huge portions Quality and taste are ok - not a highlight. Unfortunately, service that evening was quite overwhelmed by the number of guests, so that a queue formed in the restaurant: some were waiting for their reserved table, others wanted to pay. Dealing with guests in a Bavarian direct way. It can definitely come across as a bit harsh. All in all ok, but I don't have to have it a second time.

The service staff is hopelessly overwhelmed. The organization is pretty bad and the waiters spread a bad mood. There was a hectic and tense atmosphere in the restaurant. Both with the staff and with the guests. After 20 minutes we left without being able to order.

Guests who had reserved had to wait. The interaction with the guests was very unfriendly. If you stood in the way, you would be grabbed by the arm and pushed to the side - that's not acceptable in my opinion. The staff didn't know which food belonged at which table and repeatedly stood there randomly calling out to the beer garden who had ordered xy. The way the staff interacted with each other was also rude, accusatory and disrespectful. Unfortunately, that completely spoiled our evening.

I ate here for the 4th time today and am always amazed at how good the food tastes. Yesterday we had crusty roast with fresh dumplings and coleslaw with bacon. As always, the service was very quick and friendly and the prices are relatively cheap for the Garmisch area.

Unfortunately, expectations were not met! The service was stressed and inattentive, not recommended if you don't just want to be full but want to be served in a friendly manner, there was no water for the dogs... we would have had some with us if it were usual for there not to be any, well in the future we will always remember that!!!

Certainly a great place for meat lovers, even if I didn't really like my knuckle. However, if you are looking for fish or vegetarian dishes, you are unfortunately in the wrong place here. Reservations are definitely an advantage, we saw several people who were turned away because there was no more space. The service was very nice.

Went there for the second time today and had a very good meal again. The first time we didn't make a reservation, but we still got a table quickly and easily for a quick meal. We went there spontaneously for dinner. Although the restaurant was fully booked, we were spontaneously allowed to take a seat at the regulars' table and had a very nice conversation with an older couple who probably used to run a shoe shop in Munich. Food was great!

The service is friendly, the food comes very quickly and is very tasty. There are a few parking spaces available on site. Otherwise easy to reach on foot. Reservations should definitely be made during the holiday season and on weekends. We were very satisfied.

We spontaneously had dinner here after other restaurants turned us away before 7 p.m. with the message "no more kitchens". Here we were immediately served in a friendly manner despite the full house. The restaurant is very cozy and the menu is very broad. The service is really on point and very friendly (compliments!). The portions are very large and the food tasted excellent. If you don't make it, you'll immediately be asked if you want to take the rest with you -> Great! For vegetarian guests the selection could be a little more limited. Card payment is possible, which is also great because not everywhere in town you have already arrived in the present. Full marks, clear recommendation.

We sat there for about 30 minutes and no one served us until then. At some point I asked if we could please order something. The answer was that it would take some time. My question is whether it is possible to wait 30 minutes without even being offered a drink. The answer: “Yes, you can see that it is possible.” I have never been treated so rudely. We also saw that other guests were treated rudely. “No special requests, it's full here today!!!” Overall, a correspondingly hectic and terrible atmosphere. Far too few and at the same time overwhelmed and cheeky staff.

As others have already written, the first bad impression upon arrival is not deceptive. The poor service, expressed by unfriendly service and a 20-minute delay in serving the dishes for three people, is one thing, the hard-dried egg on the salad and the cold frozen vegetables (!) with the boiled beef is another. It's better to cook at home and grab a snack from the nice lady at mini golf. Absolutely not recommended.

We were there for dinner. It was very busy, we had reserved and registered early. Everything was made possible. The inn was full to the brim, all the adjoining rooms and also the outside area. We were greeted warmly, got drinks quickly and the food didn't take long to arrive. We really enjoyed the food. In between, a stack of plates fell over, but that too was dealt with confidently. As a guest, we never had the feeling that it was too stressful. This sounds more hectic than it felt. Not the cheapest meal in the region in terms of price, but absolutely worth the money. Absolutely recommended.

The food is really extremely tasty and the portions are very good. We had the venison goulash and the crusty roast. Can highly recommend both. The drink prices are quite high and the staff could be a bit warmer and try not to seem rushed all the time, even though I know the job is stressful.

We ate delicious food on two evenings and were served very nicely and courteously despite the hut being full. A big compliment to the whole team!

Unfortunately the waitress was very stressed during dinner. There was no one to be seated without a reservation and it took 40 minutes just to order. The food came quicker than the order. The food was too salty and when I told them they didn't take my feedback seriously and just said this was the best food in the restaurant. How poor they are.

A typical German restaurant in its own right, with ultra-fast service and generous dishes. It’s very good and the restaurant is worth the detour. A little difficult to make yourself understood and it is necessary to book. This does not detract from the charm and quality of the establishment.

I waited an hour for my food to find out that they no longer had the dish. Then they tried to persuade me to order something else. Nice atmosphere, but temporary help is missing. I waited very long to be waited on and then even longer for my meal never to arrive. After an hour in total, I was finally told that they had run out. The server then pressured me to order something different, which at that point I was not interested in doing. I was extremely hungry by now and it was already late. The atmosphere was nice, but they are clearly understaffed for such a volume of tourists.

Unfortunately the waitress was absolutely unfriendly and arrogant. After we were grumpily assigned a table after a long wait despite having a reservation, we were constantly ignored. Even a polite inquiry after some time did not cause her to at least notice us or take the drinks. After a long and unsuccessful wait, we decided to go again. We have rarely felt such an unfriendly and cold atmosphere in a restaurant.

We had dinner here. The restaurant is traditionally and comfortably furnished. The staff was friendly. Nevertheless, she wrote down the right dish (it was on the receipt), but brought the wrong thing twice. The second time we didn't want to say anything else so as not to make the situation uncomfortable. That food tasted good. We once had two different types of meat with sauce and a potato dumpling and once we had (actually tomato) spaetzle. The meat was good, but was swimming in the sauce. Opinions are probably divided here (it has to swim in sauce or it's better to portion the sauce and add it yourself if necessary). It was too much sauce for me anyway. The spaetzle was also good. However, there were many pieces of fried onion that were too hard and unchewable. The dessert - apple fritters with vanilla sauce - was very tasty. Even though it is a traditional restaurant with good home-style cuisine and probably wants to present it that way to the outside world, it is a shame that vegetarians have little choice here. We paid around 54 euros for both dishes including dessert and two beers. This is an absolutely fair price.

Spontaneously got a place for two even though almost everything was fully booked due to reservations, very nice, the food was served quickly and was very, very tasty. We once had the crusty roast with dumplings and white cabbage salad and once the, I think, 'farmer's feast' consisting of 3 meat variations, sauerkraut and potatoes. Price under €20 per dish is absolutely unbeatable given the quality and quantity. We can only recommend the Spatzenhäus'l and will definitely come back at the next opportunity :)

Incredibly delicious food. We've been eating there at least twice while on vacation for 7 years. You definitely have to reserve in advance. Food usually comes very quickly and is just super delicious. The shop is run by 2 waitresses, super nice and try to respond to all requests. We like to come back every year 😊

No chance to sit outside without a reservation. This makes eating very restless and uncomfortable. Service quick and nice. The food itself is nothing special. The salad is drowned in liquid something and dressing. There are many other places where you can eat much better.

A very nice, rustic inn with typical Bavarian dishes. Everything was very tasty and the spaetzle seemed homemade. The portions were also really big. The waitress was alone and was visibly stressed.
