The beer garden is a nice place to sit. The drinks could be colder. The spaetzle is very tasty. Great location.

We ate at Spatzenhäus'l several times during our vacation. The quality and taste of the dishes are impeccable. Unfortunately, the ambiance and service suffer when the weather is nice. When the restaurant and outdoor area were full, we waited an hour! for our drinks orders to be taken. After that, we didn't go back. What a shame :(

Definitely recommended. The schnitzel is fantastic, and the portions are filling after a tough hike. The quality is excellent. You can tell right away. The ladies are super friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back.

It's been a long time since I've had such a delicious schnitzel with potato salad, and the same goes for the cheese spaetzle. The portions are very generous, and the prices are absolutely fair. Reservations are a good idea; we were just lucky without them. The waitress had to do everything herself, so the occasional wait is forgiven, thanks in part to her friendliness.

Rustic. Bavarian charm. Everything runs according to plan here. The food is good and hearty. You shouldn't be a wimp here. The sayings are spot on.😆👌

A truly quaint and wonderful restaurant with good, home-cooked food. The two waitresses have their act together! Despite the restaurant being full, there are only short waits. The friendly waitress is busy, but always has a nice joke. The food is incredibly delicious! The schnitzel was incredibly tender and juicy, the fries very crispy and well-seasoned. The cheese spaetzle were also incredibly delicious and very moist. The cheese used had a great flavor. We would eat here again anytime!!! Definitely worth a visit!

Our expectations were more than exceeded. The food was by far the best we've ever eaten. The portions are generous, and the value for money is also good. Here, you get portions that won't leave you feeling hungry. I had the grilled pork knuckle with Gniedläh and coleslaw, and when I asked the very friendly waitress if she enjoyed it, all she could say was, "This dish couldn't be better!" The other dishes served to neighboring tables also looked very tasty. Therefore, I would definitely recommend it. If we're ever in the area again, dining here is a must. We'll definitely be back.

Food is delicious and service was impressive - impressive in a way that despite how busy the staff are, the waiting time is still reasonable. We arrived without reservation and luckily we got a table right away.

The name "Spatzenhäusl" shouldn't be taken for granted. But let's start from the beginning. Reservations are the safe option if you want to sit in the beer garden on nice days. The resolute and on-topic service is excellent. It all happens in quick succession, and no one goes hungry or starves. The portions are almost impossible to manage, even if you're really hungry. But the food tastes so good that you'll give it your all. Top 🔝

We ate here last week evening. The restaurant is very nice and decorated in a typically Bavarian style. I called ahead to reserve a table, but they told us to just drop by. Once we got there, it was full, and we were immediately asked if we had a reservation, which doesn't sit right with me. After we found a seat outside, we had to wait a long time for our drinks; the side salad arrived before the drinks. Regarding the side salad: they're prepared on the counter, meaning the plates can sit there for a long time, causing the salad to soak. I think we were just unlucky overall; the pork knuckle we ordered was sold out, and the roast beef we ordered instead was served with red cabbage instead of the bacon and cabbage salad. We always had to wait a long time for the drinks we ordered later, probably because we were sitting outside and thus a bit out of sight. I had no problems with the food, but my partner got a stomachache at night and started vomiting. Whether it was from the food or not, I can't say for sure. As I said, I think we were just unlucky, but that's to be expected in such a tourist magnet.

First of all, important information: EC card payments are accepted! It was so great and so delicious. A typical Bavarian restaurant. We didn't have a reservation and were just lucky that the landlady saved a table for us for an hour. She was very kind and really made sure she had something for everyone. I had the Spatzen Pfandl (I think that's how it was spelled): pork fillet with a delicious sauce, vegetables, and cheese spaetzle, and I was completely stuffed afterward. It was delicious. I would have loved to have some more cake, but I was sooo full 😂. My partner had the ham hock with fried dumplings and dark sauce with onions. It was his first time trying ham hock, and he loved it too. Thanks again to the whole team. And remember, tips can only be given in cash, so feel free to accept cash as a tip 😇

A super nice restaurant run by a couple of friendly ladies. The food was delicious and plentiful, and even during rush hour, we got a great table for the three of us and our dog. We ordered Grainauer Kasspatzn (cheese sparrows), beef in a spiced broth, and a salad with turkey strips. The portions were perfectly generous, even for a man who usually takes care of a small family alone. The Kasspatzn came with a side salad, and the beef was accompanied by a homemade potato salad with cucumbers. Top quality and super delicious. The turkey strips get a star – they were a bit stringy. The only significant deduction was that they didn't offer water for the dog – but there were water bowls at the reserved seats. Overall, though, I highly recommend it and definitely won't be the last time I'll be there. 🙏🏻🫶🏼

In our opinion, this is one of the best restaurants in Grainau. The food has been consistently high quality over the years, and the portion sizes are generous. You'll definitely be full for a small price! The team around Moni and Renate is always friendly and helpful. However, during peak season, you won't be able to get in without a reservation. If you want to eat here, you should definitely make a reservation by phone or online. Highly recommended! 😊

We always enjoy coming here whenever we're in the area. The food and the portions are unbeatable. We recommend making a reservation (especially if you're with more than two people). Online reservations are also very easy; responses are prompt. We usually manage to find a spot. The owner is very friendly and always on top of things. The kitchen must be perfectly organized, given the speed with which orders are prepared. We're already looking forward to the next time, whenever that may be. Best wishes from Hesse.

I went to eat at Spatzenhäus'l and ordered cheese spaetzle. The ambiance is quaint and cozy, the staff extremely friendly, and I have to say I have to give them a shout-out! The restrooms were also very clean. I was torn between two places to eat and finally let the many positive reviews tempt me to try the cheese spaetzle. Unfortunately, I can't share their enthusiasm! Maybe I'm just too demanding because I'm used to homemade cheese spaetzle. What I didn't like: After I ordered, the side salad arrived less than five minutes later, and not even a minute later, the cheese spaetzle. Personally, I like to eat my salad in peace first and find it a shame when the main course and appetizer are served practically at the same time. Furthermore, the extremely short wait unfortunately confirmed my impression that the cheese spaetzle weren't freshly prepared. I was able to peek into the kitchen and watch the chef take them out of a large pot. In other words, they were probably precooked and simply kept warm in a pot. The taste was rather average. Since I often eat Käsespätzle outside, I can quickly tell whether they're homemade or not. Unfortunately, in this case, that wasn't the case. I found the price rather high considering the quality. It's certainly fine for a one-time tourist visit, but for me, it's not enough to warrant a second visit.

We were here on vacation and discovered this restaurant through a friend who had been there before. It's worth every penny! The portions are huge and the food was excellent. My wife had asparagus soup and salmon, and I treated myself to a rump steak in pepper sauce – everything was delicious. We went there two days in a row and even celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary (our "💒 day") here. Many thanks to the entire team for the great service – we'll definitely be back! IMPORTANT: No reservation, no chance!

Very cute local little restaurant. We were served super fast and the food was delicious, the servers super friendly. Decent prices, only the entry (soup} was overpriced in our opinion. Overall however a great spot for dinner.

An all around great visit. The food excellent. We were there without a reservation. If you're lucky you'll get a table. It was so delicious that we reserved it for the next day. Full restaurant, no matter what day or time. We didn't have a reservation, but we were able to sit at a slightly larger table with another couple, which was completely fine with us. The atmosphere was great, the waitresses were friendly and the food was delicious. The only negative point: the fries were too crispy for us personally.

I have to recommend this restaurant to you. The food tastes so good 👌. I've been in Bavaria for 10 years, it's the best schnitzel I've ever eaten. You never said it was pork. It's such nice soft meat, it melts in your mouth like butter 🧈. I always like to come back. The knuckle also tastes great 💜💜

We were there for dinner. It was very busy, we had reserved and registered early. Everything was made possible. The inn was full to the brim, all the adjoining rooms and also the outside area. We were greeted warmly, got drinks quickly and the food didn't take long to arrive. We really enjoyed the food. In between, a stack of plates fell over, but that too was dealt with confidently. As a guest, we never had the feeling that it was too stressful. This sounds more hectic than it felt. Not the cheapest meal in the region in terms of price, but absolutely worth the money. Absolutely recommended.

We ate at Spatzenhäusl twice during our stay (Mon-Thurs) and we were very satisfied. From the service to the food to the drinks, everything was perfect. The girls have the place under control! Went to dinner at the Spatzenhäusl at the start of our vacation. We weren't disappointed. A very busy restaurant with great service. Very friendly, attentive and quick. Drinks were always full and quickly at the table, and the food also came quickly. Recommended for all meat eaters is the broth with liver spaetzle, even if it looks like it takes some getting used to, as well as the knuckle with dumplings and red cabbage, very tasty! The restaurant is also very cozy and warmly decorated. Everything is clean and tidy. For anyone who is thinking about eating there; it's worth it! Gladly again.

We spontaneously got a table for two and were not disappointed. Hearty dishes with everything you could want for. I've rarely had such crispy crusts on roasts. The service was friendly throughout, almost like family. We felt very comfortable.

So we ordered for 7 p.m. and got the table exactly. At 7:30 p.m. a lot of people came and stood next to the table. It's quaint in itself, but opinions can be divided. The food was great and arrived at the table very quickly, which may have been due to the Bavarian dishes. The boss (presumably) had the situation under control despite the rush of visitors. No tip payment by card possible.

My brother and I ate here three times during our hiking vacation. It was always very tasty. That's why I don't understand one star reviews. Very comfortably furnished and very nice, attentive service.

The Spatzenhäus'l is a cozy restaurant and a good choice if you want something to eat and appreciate large portions. We were there very spontaneously and on the last day before the winter break and got a table within 35 minutes. It is pleasant that dogs, i.e. four-legged friends, are also warmly welcomed and the waitresses walk past them very considerately, even though we were sitting directly at the food counter in a full restaurant. A lot of regular guests probably come here because many of the visitors knew each other and there was a family atmosphere. The food tastes excellent, the portions are large and the prices are accurate and significantly cheaper than in the adjacent restaurant. That's why we'll be back and recommend Renate Hofer's Spatzenhäus'l to anyone who's spontaneously looking for something.

Last day before the company vacation with a slimmed-down menu. Despite many guests, some of whom were very impatient and stressed, the service was very nice to us. The food was good and plenty. The children loved the spaetzle.

We quickly decided to reserve two seats (probably just in time) because guests arriving later had to be turned away by the attentive lady at the bar. So much routine, attention and genuine hospitality has become rare. Innkeepers know their stuff. We had a good look into the kitchen, where 2 very experienced employees (a great chef, a relaxed lady) prepared everything fresh(!), even the schnitzels were breaded in front of our eyes. The well and deliciously filled plates were quickly brought to the tables, while the friendly landlady briefly asked here whether it tasted good, there whether it should be another drink or seated people. It went hand in hand there, tasted great and there was no sense of hecticness despite the hustle and bustle. We'll be back.

Luckily we had reserved a table and all the seats were occupied - and not without reason. Menu with daily menu including a generous selection of drinks. The service was friendly and quick, the food we ordered came out of the kitchen promptly. 1a price/performance ratio. We were very satisfied 👍
