Average food, very slow service (understaffed) and worst of all no card payments, creating lots of drama with the bill. The kind of place that can only survive in Munich

Waited 1 hour for a starter, which then basically came together with the main course. No card payment possible. Very loud and narrow. There wasn't even a question about fresh drinks. Certainly an interesting selection of dishes for vegans, but not worth the visit for non-vegans.

Fantastic. I've never eaten things like that before. It's wonderful that there are "tapas" portions, I was able to try several things. If only the interior designer had thought about the acoustics... when it's full, it's loud. Nice outside area.

The food is always excellent: tasty, beautifully prepared and fresh. The service, on the other hand, has always been rather unfriendly, the waitresses and waiters seem listless and bored, the restaurant is very dark and you are squeezed in quite uncomfortably. Nevertheless, I really enjoy going to Soy and will continue to come because the food is really incredibly tasty.

Were at SOY for the first time and had a reservation for 8:30 p.m. We got there 10 minutes earlier, but were still standing in front of the door at 8:35 p.m. - everything inside was full and there was no space available. When we finally found a way inside, our reservation requests were ignored, but at least we were seated in warmth. After half an hour our order was taken and from then on things went quickly. The starters came before the drinks and the main course and dessert came quickly one after the other. The dishes were all very, very tasty & fresh! We were in the store for almost 2 hours. Less time wouldn't have been enough for us to eat everything in peace. The current system with 1-hour reservations should be revised.

All in all very good. I was there for lunch and was pointed out the lunch specials...very nice. Food also came very quickly and was delicious. The ambience itself was very comfortable...but it was very loud. The restaurant was only half full.

Taste is good but not outstanding, vietnamese dish looked and tasted more like a Thai dish (coconut milk in a vitnamese noodle soup?) Service was friendly, the location is big and noisy but nicely designed. Price is fair.

Despite having a reservation, we had to wait in line for 15 minutes. It's also so loud inside that you can hardly have a conversation at a table for two. The food is reasonably tasty and very fresh, the vegan selection is really large and the price is fair. Nevertheless, I would recommend everyone to go to Chi Thu instead, it tastes better there!

My absolute favorite restaurant! The vegan Asian tapas are incredibly tasty and the price/performance is absolutely fair. I've never eaten anything like it - I'll always come back here.

Food was very tasty. The rice dishes for 2 people are worth it as they are easy to try out. Homemade lemonade is also highly recommended.

I had dinner here with my boyfriend on my birthday and it was just fantastic! I've wanted to try hotpot for a long time but never had the chance. I wasn't disappointed here! It was incredibly delicious and exceeded my expectations. The atmosphere in the store was very welcoming and cozy, which made the experience even better. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for anyone looking for delicious vegan dishes. I'll definitely be back! Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

Vegan insider tip in Munich. Very busy restaurant with an upscale atmosphere and guests. The waitresses are all very friendly, structured and close to the guest. The food is super tasty and the portions are filling. The selection of food and drinks has something for everyone. The price-performance ratio is right.

Had dinner here recently (with reservation - 1 1/2 hours). It was very good, the prices are okay for Munich standards. Have about 30 euros per person. Paid for food, drinks around 6-10 euros per drink. The menu options are clear and not very long. Drinks are good, unfortunately I was missing a few little things like hot rice wine, which I like to enjoy with food. The toilet was also very cold and not too clean. All in all, a good restaurant with delicious vegan dishes, just be careful if this symbol is there 🌶️🥹

Unfortunately we can't give a review about the food because we didn't get a seat despite having a reservation. There were around 20 people waiting in front of us, some of whom had to wait up to 30 minutes for a table even with a reservation. After a while we decided to go to another restaurant. I find service like this to be absolutely subpar - making a reservation shouldn't mean having to wait in line anyway. Very disappointing!

By far the best restaurant I've ever been to, the food tastes very good, the atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I'm not from Munich, but I now plan my trips to Munich so that I can eat at Soy Vegan at least once!

Great place to go for vegans in Munich! With the large selection, everyone can find something! It can get very crowded there at times, unfortunately it has also happened that I had to wait longer despite having a reservation! In order to try as much as possible, it is a good idea to order several small dishes (like tapas) :)

The atmosphere in the restaurant invites you to linger! There is a wide selection of dishes and drinks. The food was tasty, but nothing too special for my taste. Unfortunately there are table times here too and we had to leave after 1.5 hours.

Unfortunately, I didn't have as good an experience as the other reviewers. The food is good. You put a lot of effort into the garnish. The waitress seemed stressed and even indifferent. The whole ambience is not reminiscent of a restaurant, but more of a bistro or canteen. It's loud and the staff clears away plates and glasses very often. It is reminiscent of the breakfast room in a holiday hotel. It makes you feel rushed. In our case, the EC device doesn't work, which of course we weren't told beforehand. People looked at us indifferently, waiting. I had to leave my wife and child behind and walk 20 minutes to the nearest ATM. I have no idea why they can't get this sorted and why they don't offer credit card payments. One can only speculate. Either the operator is too greedy to pay the credit card fees or the calculations have to be very tight so that the store makes a profit. Every guest in Munich would have no problem paying a few cents more per dish in order to receive an appropriate payment option. The good food is only part of the experience. Strive for more friendliness and contemporary service. A little tip: If you decorate the walls with pictures or something similar. design, it not only looks more comfortable, it also reduces the noise.

The food was very tasty despite being vegan. Tasted like the authentic dishes from Vietnam. The atmosphere had lots of seats and was very cozy. The waiters were friendly. The restaurant was very busy, which actually speaks for itself.

We were there for a birthday dinner on November 4th, 2024. The service was friendly, polite and quick. The meal was excellent. But the best and nicest thing was that the team watched us closely to find out who's birthday it was, because I hadn't told anyone there. A dessert with sparklers was served for the birthday child and Happy Birthday was sung too! Really very attentive and incredibly nice. The times before were also always great. Thank you again for this great surprise. We would be happy to come back at any time!

Pretty good, moderately upscale place specializing in vegan Vietnamese food. Given the soups and "tapas" options I would see this as an ideal place for a more classy larger group lunch or dinner. Nice service, and people should be aware they are mostly cash.

Best vegan place with loads of vegetarian options. Dumplings are a must try. They don't accept Visa cards which is just strange.

The restaurant itself is wonderfully decorated and not too brightly or dimly lit. However, due to the high number of customers and the tight seating, the noise level is quite high. We had the hot pot, which definitely feeds 2-3 people based on the quantity. However, we didn't find the taste really convincing. The 2 starters chosen from the tapas were okay. With a bottle of water and an elderberry and lychee spritzer we paid around €80 and that was quite expensive. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio is not right. Even though it was so busy, the service was quick, attentive and friendly. We had nothing wrong with it

First things first. The restaurant is completely vegan, meaning no cruelty to animals. The lunch menu offers top value for money. The dishes taste very good and there is a wide range of different dishes to choose from. The employees are friendly. You can eat very well on site and also order take-away food.

The hot pot is particularly recommended on cooler evenings and is my absolute highlight in terms of taste. Otherwise there is a lot to try and feast on, even with the drinks service - sometimes a bit too slow, otherwise good, atmosphere cozy restaurant, sometimes you sit a bit cramped and almost hang the starter on the table next to you, but it's ok. I would always be happy to come back, highly recommended.

The first vegan restaurant we tried in Munich. I can highly recommend, really good vietnamese dishes. The flavours was very good. Staff is friendly and also English speaking. You can only pay with German bank cards or with cash. Something you have take into account.

You cannot pay with cash or card. We had to make a friend transfer via Paypal.

Delicious vegan food and good spritzers

I was here recently and I have to say that I am unfortunately disappointed. The small portions and the high prices just don't mix. Although the ambience and the hype around the restaurant were promising, in my opinion the price-performance ratio is not at all good. For the price I would have expected much more - both in quantity and quality. Unfortunately I won't be coming back.

Guys, what do you mean by service? BEFORE I finished eating I was asked whether I wanted to order something else or whether I would pay now. I pay AFTER I finish! Even at 11 p.m. So you understand by service that the customer is not allowed to finish his meal. You already know how much appreciation you show your food and the customer in such a situation. You devalue both. Not a second time and no recommendation.

Can't say about dine in atmosphere because we got take out. Lunch deals are pretty reasonable (at the time of writing about 10.50) for a curry and a soup/spring roll. Onto the flavors. Pretty decent soup! Very delicious red curry as well. Lots of tofu and veg inside. The tofu was especially bomb. Will try their other menu item when I get the chance! Hot curry could be good for winter times

The taste is simply great! Despite the not-so-cheap price, it's always a pleasure to take away or sit down. You could also accept Visa/Mastercard as a payment method. Especially since many accounts now have a debit Visa, for example, where you can no longer get a Girocard as standard. It would be appropriate to allow the other cards. When there are a lot of people there it is very loud inside. If you're lucky, you'll get one of the outside seats. But since the food is simply outstanding (which is by far the most important point for me), the overall rating is still 5 stars.

How wonderful to walk into a Vietnamese restaurant, without the need to check every meal carefully for a dead animal! Bravo! Had the midday menu. The service was good and friendly and also let us sit long after the food, without questions or looks. The food came quickly and was good, but not delicious. Both mine and the person with me, who knew the place could agree on 4/5 for the main dish. The spring role strater was a delight though.. I would come again.

The food was very tasty. A very large selection of dishes, there are many delicious starters. The waiting time for the food was also reasonable. The service was okay, not overly nice, but everything worked. The biggest drawback are the toilets. They really were an absolute disaster. It is advisable to reserve in advance. The restaurant is very large, but it was also extremely full (Sunday evening).

Stunning! Vietnamese food is so delicious, it’s the best choice for vegetarian (vegetarian) meals in Munich, Germany!

The atmosphere was very, very nice! The food was incredibly tasty and we were very full. We took menu 2 for both of us. And Bahn Schoko... It's almost like star cuisine. The only drawback is that it is very, very crowded and therefore super, super loud. But we could have a good time 😃 So definitely make a reservation!

Super authentic and good food. There is a huge selection of everything, which makes it almost impossible to decide. You're not used to such a selection and you feel like you're in paradise. Portions are also quite decent and leave nothing to be desired. Any time!

Soy Vegan is a very good restaurant that serves various Asian dishes in vegan form. There are various Asian tapas, noodle and rice dishes, as well as soups, hotpot and various desserts. Although it's relatively expensive in the evening, the lunch menu is a real bargain - you can get food and drinks here for under €15.

Update: the food continues to be adequate, but I object to the "only German credit cards accepted" policy. You're a nominally modern, hip establishment with high prices in a modern city. ------------ The place is well set up, and efficiently run, and has a nice concept. I'm not a vegan, and found several of my dishes slightly lacking. However, the experience was good, and they were trying interesting concepts, so I will probably go again and recommend you give them a try. Having read a few other reviews, I think they likely need to up their chili, herbs and spices game, and probably bring a tiny bit more salt.

The restaurant can be easily reached by public transport via U2 Theresienstrasse or U1 Stiglmaierplatz. You should make a reservation in the evening.

I love this restaurant and I go every 2-3 months there, last time was the 1.06. With my husband, we order a mix of “tapas” that consisted in dumplings, crispy tofu, spring rolls, and more. Like always everything was delicious and we had also very fast service, even though we didn’t have a reservation this time.

I told you at the beginning what I was allergic to, it was taken into account for the drink, but it was included in the food. Absolutely irresponsible.

I absolutely love the food here! I always got perfect food. There is a star deduction. Simply because the ambience is fundamentally very nice, as it is wonderfully furnished, but unfortunately since Corona, the annoying partition walls are still there. Plus, they have compacted it and unfortunately it is now very narrow.

When I first started a few years ago, the dishes were often too spicy for me. Now I think it's perfect and we come regularly. Prices are very affordable, especially at lunchtime.
