Beautiful place, good food and chilled atmosphere

The place has a nice atmosphere with dark wood, but the interior is dated. The table was wobbly and it could have done with an extra wipe down. Much like other places in Germany you receive sub-par service when you make a reservation. For reasons unknown, we were seated at the far back, near the restroom, with a large group, hidden away from much of what makes the place attractive. We were hungry and tired so we didn't belabour the point. Our waiter completely forgot about us. We weren't asked about water or anything when seated and I had to get up to find someone to take our orders as the corner wasn't visited by any staff for at least 15 minutes. We ordered the kimchi salad and fresh spring rolls to start. The kimchi salad was very spicy, but tasty, and the fresh rolls were nice but lacked noodles. We make those at home often, so we might be preoccupied with our way of making them. The sauce lasted for about half the roll, so it would be nice to get more sauce. The mains were the red curry and tofu with veggies, and 3 rolls. I was most disappointed by the tempura roll and tofu in the curry. They were fried with a thick breading, which ended up being incredibly overpowering and tasted like fried oil. I have only ever had tempura as a thin batter deep fried, and not in this almost katsu style way. Having been fully vegan in the past, this felt unnecessary as it took away from what the tofu could have been, and the veggies. The roll became tough to eat as rice plus the thick breading made for simply too much starchy stuff. I don't follow the hype here. The place is mediocre at best, and I wouldn't come here again as no aspect made this a memorable evening.

We were here for dinner. The food was very good. No complaints here, although I find some reviews claiming gourmet cuisine rather exaggerated. - 2 stars for only accepting cash. That's hard to understand in 2025, especially since you're only informed about it when your order is taken, not, for example, when you make your reservation.

Yummy yummy vegan food. We came back twice in a month to try different dishes. Tried the sushi platter first time which was great. The second time we had the truffle noodles which was also yum. One less star because of the weird payment routine. The first time they made us pay cash as their card machine was broken and the second time they were so hesitant to let us pay with a credit card and we had to go to the back room to pay. Weird

I absolutely loved this restaurant!! I was there last year with my husband and still think about it. We went there twice in our stay in Munich. Everything we ordered was delicious and the vegan sushi a highlight! The price was fair, the atmosphere was also very pleasant and the service very friendly. Lovely vegan place that doesn't have *just* sushi. Be sure to walk through to sit in the actual secret garden which is very pretty and serene. One minus point for the mess that is their allergen labelling. When my partner and I went there, the menus had extra allergens hand-written in *one* of the two but not the other. I nearly ordered something I would have had a violent reaction to.

Right next to the kitchen the atmosphere is not too nice, especially for the high price, other places are really nice though. Food was excellent and friendly service.

Unfortunately, the duck isn't recommended; it was a disappointment in terms of taste. The summer rolls on the menu were good, as were the service and ambiance. You'd probably be better off opting for sushi and vegetarian options here.

I especially like coming here during the week because the lunch specials are unbeatable! €10.90 for a small starter and a main course. The portions aren't huge, but they're perfectly fine for the price. The taste is really good, and best of all: everything is vegan! From sushi to ramen to fried noodles... The staff are always friendly, though sometimes they're not the fastest.

There is a lot of variety of food. Delicious, in my opinion there are tastier ones, worth the price.

I've been here many times and have always recommended the restaurant because the food is delicious. This time, the service was so awful, unfriendly, and rude that I won't be coming back. The fact that you can't pay by card is also very inappropriate given the prices.

Representative of zero stars. The reservation platform doesn't work. We were turned away hungry despite making an advance reservation. Apparently the kitchen had already closed...so why is an online reservation even possible?!

We've heard a lot about it, and some members of the group have been here several times. The food was very tasty. But only two stars because the service was pretty poor. Initially, we had to get the menus ourselves from the neighboring table after a long wait. Even then, the service was slow. Three servers for a half-full outdoor area shouldn't really be too much of a challenge. When taking our order, we were informed that payment was only possible with cash. We were then advised to find a nearby ATM. In 2025, in the center of Munich, that's absolutely unacceptable. Requiring guests to go out of their way to do this without offering easy card payment is a disgrace to me. The main course arrived almost at the same time as the starter, which significantly reduced the space available on the table. We then sat for quite some time with our empty plates without them being cleared away. We weren't served again, and we weren't even asked if we wanted dessert or more drinks. When we ended up not leaving a tip, the waiter complained to us rudely, without even asking what was disappointing. That was the icing on the cake and prompted me to write this review. Food was good. Service was a disaster.

Food is out of this world. When I was there they seemed to have been short staffed, so we waited a bit. Sitting outside, you will be in the center of sightseeing groups. But it still worth it!

Secret Garden Munich delivered exceptional vegan food! The Daruma Maki’s black rice paired beautifully with creamy avocado and sweet mango. Raijins Thunder Taste impressed with its smoky tofu-surimi and zesty wasabi-lime sauce, while the Golden Foo Dog tempura roll offered satisfying crunch and umami depth. The steamed dumplings were perfectly seasoned and the summer rolls fresh and crisp. My partner’s Thai Ente Rot was equally impressive, crispy “duck” with rich red curry and fresh vegetables served with rice looked absolutely divine and smelled incredible.

I didn't think there was such a chilled-out place in the middle of the tourist hustle and bustle. A beautiful garden, and the food is fantastic. I'll be a regular!

The sushi was very good, and I can also highly recommend the Vita Bowl. The soy meat is really well seasoned and has a great texture. The portion size was very good. Our food arrived very quickly, and the service was very friendly. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere. I can highly recommend the restaurant, and the lunch special is really great. We'd be happy to go back.

I went here for lunch and tried the linux menu, you get a starter and a main course. Everything i tried was very good and I can highly recommend this place, the offer many vegan options and even alternative meat which is very refreshing and tasty.

But the real highlight was our waiter, Hieu: extremely friendly, attentive, and simply warm. Service like this is rare these days; others could really learn a thing or two from him! By far one of our most favourite vegan places in Munich. The dishes are delicious and beautifully presented. It can get busy, so you better reserve a table closer to the weekend. It’s nicely tucked away behind the Viktualienmarkt — a nice surprise is the tiny open air backyard at the end of the restaurant. Lovely and shaded for hot summer days. We will be back.

The food was ok, the service was horrible. Next to the place is a beer bar that was playing loud music. The waiter served our food to the table next to us and took the things they didn't order back in just to bring them back out again. Refused card payment and pushed us to pay in cash. Can't recommend the place, there are many other good vegan places in Munich.

I love this restaurant. It's quiet, yet well-stocked. You might not be able to order a lot of special items, but it's 100% worth it. The price/performance ratio is definitely good! If you're looking for a restaurant for a nice day/evening, this is definitely the place :)

Definitely recommended for all vegetarians and non-vegetarians, and the drinks were also excellent :) Unfortunately, despite the small number of guests, the service was very mediocre that evening. They were inattentive, we weren't served at the same time (while some were still waiting, others had almost finished eating), and afterward, we couldn't order anything else because no one came to the table, even despite asking. So, unfortunately, we didn't try dessert.

We went to discover this place Cz of its name, sounds great, and really secret garden is much better than sitting area outside the restaurant & exterior, food is 8/10 unique and nice flavors in most of items, we r not vegans but enjoyed the meal and were definitely full afterwards. Egans of the world! Rejoice! I have discovered our sushi Mecca. I have had vegan sushi I thought was good, but this was great. Anything that was lacking in flavor was made up for in presentation.

I've been there three times, one of which was for takeout at lunch. The food – especially the sushi – was unfortunately mediocre, the service was inattentive, the restaurant was very dark and the atmosphere was dusty, and the restrooms were dirty. It's a shame, because the location is really good, and the prices are correspondingly high.

A group of girls recently went to this restaurant for dinner, very spontaneously and quite late, but we received a very friendly welcome. The selection is truly large and varied, and the female server (apparently the only one, so thank you again! ❤️) was so incredibly friendly and attentive – you rarely experience such good service! She easily remembered everyone's orders (there were six of us), and even special requests were no problem. The food was incredibly delicious and beautifully presented – there really should be something for every taste :) Big compliments to the lovely decor, the good execution, the excellent cuisine, and a special thank you for the great service. We highly recommend it! :)

A very nice little place with a lovely terrace out back. I was really fascinated by the vegetarian sushi. The lunch menus are highly recommended for their prices!

The "Secret Garden Vegan Sushi" is truly idyllic – in a narrow passageway, whose pretty outdoor tables almost evoke an Italian flair. We sat outside and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. The service was friendly and pleasant, but unfortunately not very attentive: We had to wait about 15 minutes before we could even place our order, even though the staff saw us several times. We were only served after we spoke directly to someone – we found this disappointing and incomprehensible. The food itself was delicious and fresh – the taste was absolutely convincing. The constant passing by is part of the location and wasn't a problem for us. Less ideal: Parking nearby is difficult to find, and anyone wanting to pay by card has to go inside – which isn't entirely contemporary and a bit inconvenient. Conclusion: Despite a few shortcomings, we would return, especially because of the lovely ambiance and the good food. However, this time it wasn't quite enough for a perfect experience. Overall, the price-performance ratio is good, but it's not quite enough to get full marks.

Beautiful restaurant, great food. But I'm not sure if it's really vegan. We were there yesterday and the menu suddenly said, touched up in ballpoint pen: vegetarian duck. And honey is added to the tea. Both shouldn't be the case if it's really a vegan restaurant! I would like to ask for a comment on this because the local service was unable to answer my question or did not understand me.

Such great service and sensational vegan sushi

The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the food is delicious—overall, it's solid. It looks small from the outside, but there's surprisingly plenty of space inside, and it was quite busy in the evening. This means you sit a bit closer together, which unfortunately also makes it quite noisy. Personally, it's not my favorite restaurant, but as a vegan option in the city, it's definitely a good alternative. You'll definitely find something delicious here.

I LOVE this place, i always go when i am in munich. Amazing food, and atmosphere. My non-vegan friends also like it! They also have a lovely terrace, perfect during summer.

Been there with my friend. A little gem I would very gladly visit again. The sushi was fresh and extremely flavourful, in particular the tempura one.
