Soul Kitchen in München

The food was okay and the location itself was really nice. The conditions were probably a bit congested because there was a lot going on, but they were really nice! A toilet was broken which wasn't great. **** really good 👍

We were greeted with good old hip hop, so it was clear that the place could only be good. The atmosphere is very relaxed and you feel comfortable. However, having a conversation while eating is relatively difficult because the pizza leaves you speechless. So: I would say the name says it all

It is a place that is ALWAYS rich, the attention feels very familiar and everything arrives in a timely manner. I go very often and it is a guarantee of a good experience.

….is very good food, but service….my god….rude, inconsistent, made us wait with three hungry children!! With words “I only have two hands”!!! When people arrive, they immediately have a seat and order their food! Please simply ignore our order. What is that please??? Do you have too many guests that you don't care about the service??? And, that was a French operator, if owner reads it, please close your eyes! First and last time here. Most not recommended to go there with kids…

Disappointing, we have never experienced anything like this. We had reserved a table for Saturday evening. When we got there, we were only instructed with the argument that the system had a mistake - we hadn't done anything wrong, tables were being confirmed that had actually been occupied for a long time. No real apology, no statement about wanting to fix this problem in the future. Always just the sentence that it wasn't our fault. Two tables were still free, so why we couldn't go there is a mystery. On Saturday evening without a reservation, the alternatives are of course limited. At the suggestion, we were persuaded to go to the bar opposite, where we could also order a pizza from Soul Kitchen. The bar was okay, but it's not the same when you have to half yell at each other because of loud music halfway through your meal. We won't be coming back, although the restaurant is certainly good and the atmosphere looked appealing.

So so good. We shared 4 pizzas among 4 of us. Every bite was a pleasure.

Ordered expensive take-out pizza: Both are swimming in oil, one of the two pizzas has an 85% burnt crust, and the truffle pizza - according to the menu with tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, truffles and basil - was completely buried under parmesan (which is definitely not on the menu and would have been important information for me because I find parmesan disgusting). Also great: there was exactly ONE leaf of basil on top. For €17 it can be at least edible. Never again.

I am so sorry that I’ve been to this place with my two daugters and a friend with her son. The waiter turned our sunday fun late lunch into hell. I haven’t been treated so aggressively and bad in front of my children. The worst service I’ve received in Munich in 7 years. The waiter made us wait extra 15 minutes because he was not child friendly and did ask the kids to not to move while waiting. The kids are 6 and 3 years old. They were quite hungry, too. I will never come back to this place and with the kids I wouldn’t recommend to anyone to go either.

Pizza came cold, dry and burnt. The waitress didn't apologize.

Ordering takeaway is a disaster. When I ordered today I was ignored by 4 employees. Except for a hello, nothing came before I was asked to pay for the food I ordered... Last time, the pizza that was supposed to be ready for pickup after 10 minutes meant a waiting time of 15 minutes on site. When asked, at least one espresso was offered and to make matters worse, the pizza was burnt... Food 5 stars Service 0 stars Price 2 stars (almost €16 for a pizza is steep)

No way. I had yesterday a business dinner with 10 people, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. We ordered warm starters and pizza, but they were served simultaneously. When I pointed this out to the staff, they responded in a condescending manner, suggesting it was my fault for not specifying the order of service (!). I explained that in all restaurants, starters are served first, followed by the main course and so on, with no need to specify the sequence of service at moment of ordering. The answer from the staff was (literally): “You want that? Then I take the pizza back, you get the starters and you will eat the pizza cold later”. Like a punishment or a blackmail to the customer. And he took the pizza back in the kitchen

Pizza halfway ok, otherwise very loud, average service, expensive for what is offered. The three of us spontaneously went to Soul Kitchen. What was initially irritating was that there were only pizza cutters and forks on the tables. We had imagined “soul food” to be something more than pizzas, but apart from a few salads, the menu was really minimalist. The service is a bit sloppy and not very attentive. The pizzas themselves are very thin and crispy on the outside, but rather a mushy dough in the middle - this works much better elsewhere (e.g. grano or La Pizza). This may also be because, according to the service, the pizzas only see the oven for 90 seconds, perhaps a little short. In any case, it doesn't make sense to eat without a knife. What's really disturbing is the background noise in Soul Kitchen. Both the music and the rooms are far too loud, which is not surprising given that there are bare concrete walls on three sides. After Corona times, still requiring a minimum amount of 25 euros for card payments can actually only be understood as the owners' goal to make as much cash sales as possible. The bad habit of only offering beer in 0.33l bottles fits into the picture. In my 20s, like many other guests who give it 5 stars, I would probably have found the restaurant quite good, but since then the standard has increased significantly. This is an alternative to pasta&basta, pepenero etc. to fill you up, but nothing more.

The pizzas are simply exceptional: fresh, tasty and prepared to perfection! The service was impeccable, and the staff extremely kind and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Great store, great atmosphere, delicious food, fast service! Really a recommended place for everyone who loves Neapolitan food and Italian pizza!

For €14 I would have expected at least an edible dinner, but instead this pizza was a dough-based disappointment. The edge was a burnt, bitter disgrace, the center was mushy like bits of wet paper, and the tomato sauce tasted like someone had dyed water with a hint of red. The ‘fresh’ oregano? At best, a relic from the pantry. And then the ambience: a level of noise that turns every conversation into a sporting discipline. After five minutes I had a headache, and after ten I no longer felt like eating or talking. For €14 I expect enjoyment, not a test for all the senses.

Very, very good Neapolitan pizza with service that is second to none. I have really, and I mean this absolutely seriously, never experienced such bizarre situations in a restaurant as in this one, it borders on absurd theater. 1. Waiting 35 minutes to be seated while the waitress haphazardly walks up and down the half-empty store and simply never clears the empty tables. (I would have liked to help her, it was bad) 2. Bring your own pizza boxes because pizza boxes are sold in the store. (The partner store is across the street, no one could have guessed that.) 3. The waitress books in incorrectly, can't cancel and asks me if I can't just pay more. (I did it because the question was just cool.) + then he waits to see if I might give a tip (haha) I'll definitely be back and I'm excited to see what you come up with next. No matter what it is. Please don't change anything about your pizza.

Great pizza napoletana contemporanea! Pizza bufala with wonderfully aromatic buffalo mozzarella and sugo to melt away, also really good caffè and dolci. Very pleasant service, thank you very much! Highly recommended, even for people who have already been to Naples and know what's good :)

Very good pizza, the dough is incredibly tasty. Service was very nice, especially the lady with the blonde hair. Only the light above the tables is really annoying because it just blinds you. ps: the gentleman with the black hair and beard was also very friendly

Tried it spontaneously. My new pizza spot 🤗 Although it was full and without a reservation, they wanted to give us a table inside by x time or a place at the bar immediately. We preferred it outside anyway. Perfect for cheering the passengers of the tram that keeps stopping in front of you. Pizza delicious, wine delicious, service extremely nice and friendly. Looking forward to next time! 😍

Unfortunately we had to wait 45 minutes for our pizza. Service was nice, but we wanted to reorder drinks and unfortunately no one came to us.

In short: If you like napolitan pizza, this spot is an excellent choice. Great atmosphere, stellar service, creative flavors, lots of vegan and vegetarian options at a decent price. Service: We arrived without reservation at a buzzling restaurant, hungry for pizza - no problem, short wait, got two spots at the bar with front row seats to watch the pizza baking action. Sabri took excellent care of us, told us about the pizzas we chose, had a fun conversation with us on the fly. On the plate: We had the "Fanta 4" (varaint of a classic cappriciosa), and the vegan and creative "Don Greco" - beetroot base, vegan feta, almonds, basil. Both great choices. A word to the kitchen: the Don Greco is a great idea, but currently fairly sweet in taste and not for everyone - my recommendation would be to balance it a little and make it more complex. Walnut instead of almonds, more feta (crumled, not diced, if possible), maybe pommegranate or a squeeze of lemon. We will be back for more.

It seems that at Soul Kitchen it’s about who you know… Closing time (according to Google) is 23:00 - arrived 22:10. Arrived to a busy doorway, with a group in deep, laugher filled, conversation with a server of the restaurant. The group were then led inside and seated. We followed immediately after, and were told, inside the restaurant, that they were now closed. Bold (in the differential treatment of customers) if nothing else.

Service was friendly and quick. Food was great. I personally really like the simple concept, but it's a matter of taste. Since we were unfortunately 15 minutes late, we were only "allowed" to stay at our table for one hour, even though you actually have 90 minutes per reservation (according to the confirmation email). This was a bit of an odd greeting, but other than that I'll be happy to come back when I'm in the area. Food was delicious.

Probably one of the most decent pizza places in Munich! The dough is very fluffy, the sauce is tasty and the ingredients overall are very good. In my opinion there could be a bit more cheese on the pizzas, they were quite light but anyway tasty. The service was good but the waiting time was a bit long - if you plan to come here you better reserve a table online, for the place is quite tiny and can also get very noisy on a crowded day. The prices are fair, for in Munich an average pizza costs around 15 euros, but here it's definitely worth the price (espresso is incredibly cheap!). In Germany it is very hard to find decent pizza; I know this very well since after 11 years we still keep getting disappointed. However, if you want a delicious Italian pizza, you must come here! (Highly recommend Nonna's pizza and the truffle one) Edit: the espresso is soooo bitter I had to put tons of sugar to be able to drink it! Not worth 1 euro :(

We had dinner here this evening and were very disappointed. Unfortunately, my pizza (Smoked Pepe) was completely over-peppered and both my friend and I thought it was so bad that we left it alone. This has never happened to me before. That I think a dish is so bad that I didn't eat it in a restaurant (it costs money). But the 1 star because my friend's pizza (Smoked Mozarella) really didn't taste good either. Ehr frozen pizza level. Then when I paid I was really friendly and offered an espresso or dessert but no discount or anything like that. So I spent €40 on a bad pizza and two drinks. That was a very bad deal. Can't recommend the store at all.

The inside of the pizza is a bit TOO thin. The edge wasn't all the way through. The service was too slow. If you sit outside, the location is right on a busy street. You can eat there, but I personally wouldn't come back.

The pizzas are delicious, cool varieties too. But we couldn't enjoy the food at all. The noise from the guests was so extreme, you were so "overstimulated" that you couldn't concentrate on eating at all. It was so hectic that in comparison, you feel more comfortable in a crowded disco. There are so many tables in a very small space that the waiters and other guests constantly come to your chair as they walk past, which is unpleasant if you are drinking or have a fork in your mouth. Unfortunately the service didn't pick us up either.

After waiting an hour, the pizzas finally arrive. The pizzas were burnt and raw. This was brought to the attention of the waiter, nothing was done to remedy it, only a dessert was offered which I did not accept, as I was no longer hungry.

This pizzeria on Frauenhoferstrasse in Munich offers one of the best Neapolitan pizzas in the city. The dough is airy and perfect, the ingredients are fresh and tasty - you feel like you've been transported to Naples. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent service: the waiters are friendly, attentive and know their stuff very well. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting.
