Sorry, but I think they should leave the winemaking and food preparation to others (wines are inconsistent and food is unremarkable).

Great food, very good wine. We especially enjoy the rustic atmosphere.

Very cute Strauss with a courtyard and small fire, it feels cozy and clean, very good for the impression. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman at the reception and were allowed to choose a table. It was busy, with two tables free, and yet the service didn't stress the guests. Today we were on the first floor of the beautiful, wood-clad Strauss, which at first glance has a lovely historic feel. Sonenbrunnnen Strauss is known as a wine bar with flair that places value on ecological sustainability. It's owner-run and lovingly decorated, which is exactly what I expected, and that's exactly what it was. :) It's small, cute and family-friendly, and you felt at home from the very beginning. I spontaneously went for dinner with my family. Since we were all still hungry, we ordered three dishes, which arrived quickly and fresh from the clean kitchen. We couldn't take any more pictures, we ate too much and polished everything off, especially the bread was delicious, and we even got a second helping of bread when I asked for it. I noticed that I felt at home in the rustic atmosphere, because it has charm. The pictures on the walls aren't there by chance, just look at the pictures, as well as the matching sayings – I think that's cute👌🥰. The food is delicious 😋 We had salmon and arugula tarte flambée, organic potato salad, meat cakes, from the hilly meat from the organic butcher in Stühlinger, which is safe and everything is clearly labeled, to enjoy with a clear conscience. I know the butcher, and the meatballs are excellent. It's always worth a spontaneous wine & chill visit in Opfingen, one of the best here, and I think the Strausse is interesting in any weather in Opfingen, also for wine purchases.

A very cozy place, both inside and out, with lots of flair and friendly service. We hope to be back very soon!

Just another calm, beautiful bouquet. I love the "tapas" plate and the very good wine.

Pros: Cozy upper room, delicious tarte flambée. Cons: Long wait times, small portions not filling, and too expensive. Overall, a somewhat run-down building. We won't be back and can't recommend this restaurant.

We reserved a table for four people by phone. When we arrived there was nothing reserved and we were seated at a table that was much too small next to the play area. It was cold in the ostrich because the oven was lit too late. The price-performance ratio is impossible. Far too high prices for poor quality. Both for food and drinks. The food was too salty. The portions are way too small. We're not coming anymore. Luckily there are plenty of alternatives.

Absolute impudence! Very competent answers when asked, but a very poor performance for so much money. We booked a covered wagon ride for 15 people. The tasting included 3 bottles of wine and a basket with 15 slices of bread. We skipped the tarte flambée meal we had planned afterwards. The organizer gratefully accepted this as a relief

Cozy ostriches... good food, good wine...

Beautiful to sit in, incredibly nice people to serve you and prices that allow normal people like us to spend a really cozy evening there together. Thank you very much for that!

Die Wartezeit zwischen trinken bekommen und essen war lang, ebenso zum bezahlen. Die Flammkuchen waren gut, Wurstsalat etwas klein, kein Brot dabei, gestandener Mann noch hungrig gewesen. Wein war sehr lecker.

Das Essen war gut und die Location ansprechend, aber Preis Leistungsverhältnis einfach nur ungenügend. Ein Salat welcher in anderen Restaurants nur als Beilagensalat angeboten werden würde, ist hier eine Hauptspeise für 12 Euro. Waren wirklich sehr enttäuscht. Werden nicht mehr kommen.

Schöne Location, mehrmals schon dort gegessen. Immer lecker unseren Erwartungen voll entsprochen.

Sehr sehr lecker. (s.Bild nix übrig gelassen) Wir (4 Personen) hatten einen schönen gemütlichen leckeren sowie normal/preislichen Abend verbracht. Vom „Neuen Süßen“ über Zwiebelkuchen, Kürbissuppe zum ElsässerWurstsalat und Rösti mit Gemüsefindlingen. Es hat uns Allen sehr geschmeckt. Mal wieder ein Stückchen Badische Küche genossen. Ambiente sehr gemütlich, elegant ,sauber und gepflegt. Wurden nett begrüßt und bedient. Ein rundum gelungener leckerer Abend. Vielen Dank

Leider enttäuschend. Zwar sehr schöne Strausse. Ansprechend. Aber leider nur bleistiftdünne Spargel mit sehr sehr wenig Butter"soße" auf dem Teller. Schinken auch nicht üppig. Dafür sehr teuer im Vergleich.

Sehr netter Besen. Essen war klasse, auch sehr schön angerichtet, vielleicht für den Preis etwas zu wenig. Schön gemütlich und leckerer Wein.

Schöne location, nette aber teils überforderte Bedienungen , und leider war das Essen, respektive das Preis/Leistung Verhältnis, ganz schwach . Eine Hand voll Wurst Salat mit faden TK Röstis ( obwohl die Strauße sich mit Bio brüstet ) für knapp 13 Euro . Das ist nicht korrekt. Wie auch hier schon mehrmals moniert und ebenfalls an unseren Nachbar Tischen geäußert , sind die Portionen deutlich zu klein und man geht hungrig und mit dem Gefühl lieber anderswo essen zu gehen das nächste mal . Trauben Saft Schorle war lecker dafür .

Urgemütliche und familiäre Strauße. Wir wurden sehr nett bedient und auch das Essen war sehr lecker. Was mir besonders gut gefallen hat ist, dass man hier auch als Vegetarier eine schöne Auswahl hat und sich nicht wie in anderen Straußen mit Beilagen begnügen muss. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Ganz nette Lokation, Portionen jedoch nicht ihrem Preis gerecht. Da erwartet man von einer "Strausse" mehr als nur ein paar dünne Spargel auf einem Teller zusammen mit 3 Kartoffeln und 4 Scheiben Schinken an einem Klecks Hollandaise. Zu einem Preis, bei dem man im Restaurant eine vollwertige Speise bekommt. Wein ist leckter ( habe mich durch 4 Weisweine probiert) nur leider nicht mehr über ihn erfahren. Verkaufen wollte der Winzer den wohl auch nicht. Angeboten hat er ( trotz dass ich Kaufinteresse angekündigt hatte) seinen Wein zumindest nicht. Bei der Bewirtung schien mir die Belegschaft auch etwas überfordert.... Ergo sum: es gibt besseres im Ländle!
