A rest stop like many on German highways is on my way to work. It is clean and well maintained and the staff are friendly and nice.

A roadside restaurant. Well, for us, every roadside restaurant is unpleasant and is only intended for taking breaks and having a cup of coffee or lunch during the long drive to Austria. Eating is generally OK, but don't expect culinary delights.

The Serways service area Hardtwald West is a pleasant place to stop for a break on the motorway. The facility is clean and well maintained, the staff is friendly. There is a good selection of snacks and drinks, although like most rest stops the prices are slightly higher. Still a good place to take a quick breath and strengthen yourself for the onward journey. The sanitary facilities were also in good condition. Overall, a solid rest stop!

This rest stop has 4 different restaurants or food and drink providers: Nordsee, Burgerking, Gustico and another coffee shop that also offers sandwiches, but I didn't look at the name of this provider. There is a lot of choice of food and drink in the rest area in a small area. There is a terrace in front where you can find fresh air and green surroundings. We ate fish sandwiches at Nordsee, which we enjoyed. My herring was very tender and tasted fresh. I would recommend the restaurant and also the fish sandwich at North Sea. We didn't see or use the toilets, so we can't say anything about that.

Previously, the toilet cost 0.50 cents, but Germany has now raised prices to one euro. And then you can only use 1 voucher for 1 cup of drink. Service adapts to today's mentality. Shame!

Some of the toilets are broken or the soap dispenser doesn't work. For a €1 (2024) access fee, I would have expected more. Redeeming the vouchers in the tank shop is also not worth it due to the high prices. There is still enough profit left for the operator despite vouchers

North Sea, Burger King and Serways, you have a choice of what you want to eat.

Only 4 open women's toilets, the rest locked. Given the crowds, that's not enough. At the restaurant where we ate, the saleswoman was incredibly nice! The prices are horrendous, but typical for a rest stop. The rolls actually looked better than they tasted.

Nice and relatively clean rest stop. Unfortunately, there is no sound-breaking vegetation (trees, bushes, etc.) between the heavy-duty parking lane and the highway. If you've been driving all night and take a break during the day, you've clearly lost out here. You have the choice of parking with the windows open in the blazing sun but letting the sound blast you all day long, or closing the doors and, after the auxiliary air conditioning fails, letting the engine run for cooling. However, neither of these is necessarily in the inventor's interest. So please, please, please... when designing the rest areas, think a little about the drivers who are forced to finish their work in these places during the day. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about here

Serway's Hardtwald West service area deserves 3.5 stars because the ambience is a bit old. Nevertheless, the rest stop offers a practical option for a rest on the motorway. The food is solid and offers a variety of on-the-go options. The service is friendly and efficient. The cleanliness could be improved, but overall the rest stop offers a reasonable option for a break during the journey.

I don't know where you have this large parking lot, because it can accommodate a dozen or so sets. On Saturday at 11 a.m. there were no seats in the rides, so I stood at the back. Noisy parking lot next to the highway, not sheltered. A large shower costs €4. Unfortunately, they don't accept toilet vouchers here, which surprised me because they accepted them everywhere I was. The room was very cold, the heating was turned off. In addition, the external door next to the shower door is open, and the outside temperature is only 5°. I recommend wearing earplugs in the dryer because you may go deaf. Advantages: a large shower, a normal "faucet", no need to press, toilet and cleanliness. Burger King inside. 30 minutes to Rewe and Aldi stores. Close to the city
