Schweinske fairly recently moved from the other end of the Reeperbahn into the shopping mall in the Hbf, They've done a nice job on the interior - shielded on the first floor from the hussle and bustle of the commuters but still great people-watching through the glass walls. We've eaten at Schweinske in Hamburg and Kiel a number of times now over the years and the food is always good and reasonable value. They are willing to substitute so for example this time they were happy to swap the Pommes (chips/fries) for Bratkartoffeln so that I could still have my Schnitzel Jägerart i.e. with a mushroom gravy.

9:50am brilliant breakfast. Set us up for the day. Lovely local vibe. Staff were so helpful, cheerful, attentive and polite. Dealt with my allergy brilliantly, altering a dish to make it safe for me. 10 out of 10.

A superb restaurant with extremely friendly staff. On every trip to Hamburg, Schweinske is at the top of my to-do list; a visit is a must. There's truly something for every taste, whether it's salad, schnitzel, or burgers. Even vegetarians and vegans will find something to their liking. The friendly staff and the kitchen make every wish come true.

I've been to Hamburg a total of three times now, most recently from August 2nd to August 7th, 2025. During my stays in Hamburg, I've always eaten at Schweinske at Hamburg Central Station. I've had roast pork with spaetzle, BBQ schnitzel with potato wedges, and more, and I always found it delicious. Schweinske at Hamburg Central Station has now become our regular restaurant when we're in town, and I highly recommend it. The staff is always friendly and even willing to have a quick chat, which isn't common these days. :)

I do have one small comment: the restrooms are very cramped and somewhat outdated. But our server, Nilu, was super nice. A very pleasant stay!

After not having been to Schweinske for a while, we stopped here to while away the time until our train departed. There was a new menu, with a great selection, some new dishes, and exceptionally great service. Nilu looked after us and truly felt like guests, in the truest sense of the word. The food arrived quickly, was very well presented, and tasted delicious. We felt very comfortable and will be back.

If you're looking for hearty, large portions in a diner-like setting near Hamburg Central Station, this is the place for you. The food tastes good and the portions are generous. The value for money is also good. Unfortunately, the cocktails aren't really recommended. The service is incredibly friendly! Very pleasant conversation and always approachable!

Visit on September 20, 2025 Well-known chain, unfortunately, the quality of the food and the service staff has declined massively. No even the simplest of polite phrases – just disinterested staff, who seem more preoccupied with their cell phones and chatting with colleagues than with the customer. When approached, they yell at you. I ordered "Fritz Schwein" (Fritz Pig), a classic schnitzel, for €15.90. According to the waiter, the standard side of fries was out. I was asked if fried potatoes would be okay instead. When I asked if there was an extra charge, I was denied. The bill was €18.90. Fraudulently concealing a three-euro surcharge is at the very least delinquent business practice. The schnitzel was greasy and tasted unworthy of even a schnitzel sandwich. Fried potatoes drowned in oil. Salad with more sand than the Elbe beach. Disgusting! I can only advise against it!

Central location at the main train station. But the food is truly basic convenience food. Deep-fried, hard schnitzels with ready-made sauces. Bag salads with a ready-made dressing. Homemade lemonade was just water with syrup. The staff wasn't particularly friendly either. And they weren't even that cheap. There are better alternatives, even around the main train station.

On June 8, 2025, the two of us had breakfast at Schweinske in Hamburg Central Station. When we arrived at the main station, we could see the restaurant from afar and headed straight to the restaurant's upper floor. We were greeted by friendly staff and were able to choose a table in peace. For breakfast, we had a farmer's breakfast and a Strammer Max. Both meals were delicious and the price was right. As guests at the restaurant, we also had free use of the restroom. All in all, the stay was excellent, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Sunday lunchtime on September 7, 2025 The place was packed. The staff was completely overwhelmed. Several tables were without drinks, like ours. The food was late but good.

We were there this evening and actually wanted to have a nice meal. The atmosphere was fine. Unfortunately, the service was very poor; we were asked to move tables twice. One time, a table was reserved and another hadn't been cleared. It was a bit confusing because we didn't see a waiter to begin with. We then ordered, and the food arrived quickly; drinks came after we asked again. The table next to us had drinks before us. The food was very tasty and neatly presented. Unfortunately, there were still dishes from the previous guests on our table. Then it was cleared away at some point. Food ready, please pay... Everything was fine, the usual. The price was quite high, then the lady got very confused, put her device in front of me and immediately wanted a tip. I said no. Okay, so after I paid, she turned around, looked me straight in the eyes and asked me why there was no tip? A bit pushy, since she already seemed very confused and overwhelmed... Once and I wouldn't do it again.

We were there at lunchtime when it was busy. There were a few minor issues, but everything was quickly resolved. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent. The prices were a bit high, but the quality was absolutely worth it. I'd love to go back next time I'm in Hamburg!

Great breakfast, even better dinner after 5 days in Hamburg and the only place for a good breakfast.

The food was good (American salad and a lime bowl, dated August 31st), more or less as expected. In retrospect, I should have opted for schnitzel instead. The service certainly needs improvement. There was a table reshuffle that the waiters couldn't handle. We were forgotten several times. One of them was apparently having a baby, the man with glasses helped several times, and the woman in the gothic look barely looked up.

Great food, regional ingredients. Served in a way that compliments the eye as well. The reddish beer coupled with a rich brunch is a must-try! Service absolutely friendly, direct. Interior has a piece of art for the knowing eye. The place to be in Hbf if you have a longer waiting time. Thank you!

As part of our vacation, we visited SCHWEINSKE in Hamburg Central Station on the evening of August 30th, and it was fantastic, as always. 👍🏻 The food and drinks were delicious. 😋 The service was excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We would especially like to thank our waiter, Zülo. 😊😊 As always, he was very attentive, courteous, service-oriented, friendly, and always had a funny joke and a smile on his face. 😊 We'd love to come back next year and really hope he'll welcome us back to SCHWEINSKE. 😊😊

We had dinner at Schweinske by the train station. It was delicious, as always, and our server, Marco, was super attentive and a very nice person. The dessert recommendation was incredibly delicious. Top-notch service.

Still a great shop! I was there several times years ago and was always impressed! Now (probably a while ago), since it's been remodeled and expanded, the seating is even better. The employees are all great. Friendly and accommodating! We were there recently on a Saturday afternoon. One employee (with a "fan" around her neck. She was talking about her daughter's favorite dish; she had the next day off) is simply the best! What a friendly and sweet woman. Give her a raise! We'll be back - definitely!

Sorry to say this, but the chef should be fired. Everything is just thrown into the fryer, nothing is made with love or anything! This place is a complete disaster. Take a leaf out of others like Underdogs, where the food is fresh, but everything is so greasy. I feel sorry for the employees who have to put up with this. For the price, I could have eaten better food before Anna.

The restaurant is very nicely decorated, with an exciting view of the main station's tracks. The food was delicious, and there was plenty of choice for vegans as well. The staff was very accommodating, and the conversation was pleasant.

Typically northern German, typically cozy: hearty home-style cooking, sloppy fries, and friendly service. It feels like eating with friends: rustic, honest, and relaxed.

I arrived at the restaurant at 2:37 p.m. I wanted to ask about the breakfast menu before 3:00 p.m. At 2:53 p.m., they served the table behind me (who had just arrived) and said there was no breakfast menu. When she came over, I asked for a water, which they brought me after five minutes. I asked him to pay with my card at the same time, and she told me I had to wait. After another five minutes, she came back, put the dataphone in front of me, gave me a receipt, and left. Half an hour for €2.90 for water, and terrible treatment.

I'm getting ripped off and paying for garbage. At the same time, you have to listen to the rude behavior of the employees who send you to McDonald's because the food they serve is inedible and bad. I got a burger with fries – it was truly terrible. The bun was at least five days old; it completely crumbled. The fries were soggy, not crispy or properly cooked at all – and unsalted to boot. The meat patty was precooked, reheated, and completely dry. The bacon was cooked in fat or in a deep fryer, completely crinkled and flavorless. I've never had such a bad meal for €19.50 as I did here. When I paid and told the employee that the bun was extremely dry and that she could see for herself—it was sitting untouched on the plate—she simply said, "Why don't you go to the McDonald's next door? They might have something that meets your expectations." I'm shocked to hear such a thing from an employee when you're a paying customer and have legitimate criticism. Apparently, this company doesn't care about its customers—so they keep serving bad stuff. Good advice: Never go there—find another place. 🇬🇧 German translation: Get ripped off and pay for garbage. The food is good and, in my opinion, reasonably priced, the service was OK, and the ambience is that of a well-kept restaurant in the Wandelhalle.

At first, the service was very friendly and courteous, the tables clean, actually "normal" for 8:30 in the morning. I was looking forward to coffee, but the breakfast on offer didn't materialize. The coffee was BW level, "granola" muesli poured over yogurt, and the airy rolls...if I weren't so tired, I should have sent it back, "my mistake"...no, there won't be another try. Unfortunately, it's too expensive for what's on offer. That's the most annoying thing...another menu that overpromises...

Our go-to place when we arrive by train in Hamburg. The food is always good, as is the service and the prices are very reasonable. We ate three times here on this holiday - which says something. It is a railway restaurant, so atmosphere is basic.

Took 30 minutes for the waiter to take the order. No greetings. We tried to order in German, the waiter got straight away fed up as we did not understand what he was saying. The drinks they brought were not what we ordered ( while we showed on the menu). Hamburg service and welcome was great so far, it is a pity this will be the last feeling we will get.

A catastrophe if you ask me. The waitress is the most unfriendly person I've come across recently. We were there last Friday evening and had ordered takeaway because of a severe migraine attack. The waitress didn't really want to accept this and asked for drinks and food. When we said no, she gave us a lecture about how the seats were for guests and not for waiting for takeaway food. In the meantime, we ordered at the bar and asked for understanding, which the two men certainly had. Afterwards, the nice lady actually went to the bar and made fun of the situation. I hope the lady in question finds herself in a similar situation someday and meets similar people. As for the food, the burgers were OK, but the ketchup was a bit too sweet. Please think about changing.

A lovely and pleasant restaurant right in Hamburg's main train station. The prices are reasonable and not expensive. I've had a delicious breakfast here before.

During a stopover in Hamburg on our trip, we were simply hungry, and you can't go wrong with Schweinske. The service, especially Nilu, was extremely attentive and friendly.

We were met with an impatient waitress, who was very curt and grumpy. We mentioned that we might want something to eat (besides coffee), but she didn't come back and seemed to deliberately look away when we tried to beckon her. When we paid, she placed the card reader so we couldn't see the price and took it away while I was still holding my card against the reader. I find this inappropriate and unnecessary haste. The restrooms were also truly disgusting, with an old vibrator dispenser by the tap—that's unacceptable. A man was sitting on a chair outside the doors (he was wearing an apron, so he definitely works in the kitchen, not as a cleaner), which seemed unnecessary and definitely uncomfortable. The restaurant area is nicely decorated and the coffee was good, but man, I'll never go back. The waitress, by the way, had blue streaks in her brown hair.

I haven't been here in a long time. But somehow I remembered it differently and better! I think €12 is way overpriced for the big party!!! And I had little flies in my salad! Incredibly disgusting. I have no idea why this place has become so bad!!! The service was attentive...

We had a nice dinner at Schweinske Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. We ordered Bauernfrühstück and Cæsar Schnitzel, as well as a brownie with ice cream for dessert. The service was fast, friendly and professional – the menus were ready on the table, and an attentive waiter quickly took our order and followed us up well throughout the meal. The food was served relatively quickly and in generous portions. Bauernfrühstück was reminiscent of a Norwegian farmer's omelet, with ham, salad and pickles – hearty and tasty, but not spectacular. The Cæsar Schnitzel was an exciting twist on a classic schnitzel, topped with Cæsar salad and parmesan, and served with fries. The dessert tasted delicious, but the portion was surprisingly small. A small minus was that service was not included in the price – we were asked to choose a 5, 10 or 15% surcharge, which felt a bit unnecessary. All in all, a pleasant place with good food and efficient service – perfect for a hearty dinner near the central station.

Everything was perfect. I'm thrilled. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service was really prompt, courteous, and super friendly. The food also arrived very quickly. Between ordering and serving, we only had to use the bathroom. The value for money is unbeatable. We weren't asked to choose a percentage for our tip. Our tip request wasn't even discussed.

If you have an hour until the next train, it's completely out of the question to have breakfast here because the staff are sooooo lazy and slow. This has happened to me three times now, and it will be the last.

Even though I've been to Hamburg so many times, I only discovered it thanks to a tip. And because it was on the way to the hotel, I've eaten there several times – and it never disappoints!

Located on the upper floor of the Wandhalle of the central station in Hamburg right next to McDonads. Reachable via the stairs, escalator and elevator between Edeka and Rossmann. Decided to get the Currywurst as I was waiting for my delayed train. The restaurant offers some calmness in the hectic surrounding. You can choose from a huge menu between salads, bowls, burgers, sausage, schnitzel and probably lots more. Even desserts. Service was super attentive and friendly. I was able to choose any available table on a Friday evening. It wasn’t very busy and reservations were not required. Order was taken within 10 minutes. Drinks came quickly after and food was served after another 10 minutes. Great atmosphere lots of space and good price for the quality. Also toilets available. You can pay by card or cash.

Maybe I picked the wrong day but the conditions were a disaster, they actually told me I should go to EDEKA and buy something to drink there, but otherwise I've always thought the Schweinske was good.

A very nice place to linger and a very cozy atmosphere, even though it's quite large. It's easy to have a conversation, the furniture is rustic and clean, the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and most importantly, I've been there several times now. The food is simply excellent. The homemade bread is simply amazing. You can easily put the leftover schnitzel in a roll and take it with you. Wow... A baked potato with sour cream or the farmer's breakfast are simply divine. The prices are reasonable, especially by Hamburg standards. The restaurant has its own restroom. Simply amazing. We'd love to come back and enjoy eating at your place.

It's very pleasant here compared to the hustle and bustle of the main station. You can sit back, enjoy delicious food, great homemade lemonade, and wait for your train. I'd love to come back.

We'd be happy to go back... We went to this restaurant in the train station on a friend's recommendation, and we weren't disappointed. The food was very good. The price/performance ratio was also completely acceptable, considering you're in Hamburg Central Station! The restaurant has its own restrooms, which were clean and okay. A small play area for younger children, nothing special. Friendly service.

Unfortunately, the same problem with the toilets everywhere...eeeeewwwww...

If you want to eat without having to resort to a dictionary, this is the place for you. The dishes are clearly and simply named. I also think the price/performance ratio is excellent. If I'm in the area again, I know a good place to get my fill.

Hamburger schnitzel with fried egg, whether regular or XL, highly recommended! The location near the main train station is great for getting there if you're not from Hamburg. Just go there and take the train home without any stress. This won't be our last visit. We'll be back!

The fact that Schweinske only gets 4 out of 5 stars is a disgrace! :D Very tasty!! (We had the pork platter). The rolls were fresh and soft. The Mettwurst was very tasty, as were the scrambled eggs and bacon. The quantity was plentiful. Very friendly service. We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality. Thank you for the great breakfast!!

Unfortunately, I can only give the restaurant this rating. The restaurant wasn't very busy at that time. The waiter, while polite, was rather unmotivated. The food was below average. I had a hamburger schnitzel, which was rather tough, and the fried potatoes were mushy and bland.

Anyone who knows Schweinske knows what they're getting there. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was extremely dry and the fries were tasteless. The salad was okay. I suspect the schnitzel was just reheated to reduce the wait time. Better to wait longer and get fresh. The waitress, a young woman, was great. Thank you for the service :)

A female waitress assumed tips were a given. My colleague had to watch his money and had nothing left. I tipped her, but no thanks, just a quick exit wasn't enough. Then someone at the next table threw their giant beer glass all over the floor. It's called karma.

Sehr nettes Personal. Bestellung wurde sofort aufgenommen. Von einem Azubi. Sehr aufmerksam. Blond. Super lieber Junge. Mein Handy. War leer. Er erklärte mir alles und ging nach der Bestellung mit. Es dauerte mit dem Laden bestimmt 14 min. Es waren noch 2 weitere Mitarbeiter da um mir zu helfen. Tolles Team und der Azubi mit Freude dabei. Da macht es Spaß. Das Assen war super. Schweinebraten mit Bratkartoffeln und Schnitzel mit Pommes. Lecker ,super tolles Ambiente. In Köln war es dunkel und leider gibt es Schweinske nicht mehr in Köln. Ich hab es geliebt. Danke für die freundliche Bedienung und Hilfe.

You can eat at Schweinske. A large selection of schnitzel dishes, very friendly service. The train station atmosphere is also cool. Something that's missing in Berlin.

I ate here again after years as I was in Hamburg. The service was friendly and on the ball. Unfortunately, the schnitzel and the fries/potato wedges weren't great. Unfortunately, the schnitzels were both very tough. The fries and the potato spades were very hard. So the visit this time turned out to be an absolute disappointment :-(
