Yes, in the meantime you have to make a reservation or wait (we waited about 10 minutes). Cozy inside as always. Food: good and not overpriced, special requests: no problem. Service: on point and very friendly. Always my pleasure!

We came with a group of 19 people and were received very hospitably. The service was courteous, competent and quick. The food was obviously freshly prepared and very tasty. The price-performance ratio is right. Overall, highly recommended.

Very cozy café restaurant with delicious cakes or food. Since the last increase, the food prices are no longer available for students. It is often loud, the café is only two. The service is always relaxed and quick.

Saturday medium Nm. totally full, upstairs sober and crammed with tables, high noise level, downstairs also simple but less hectic, sometimes loud music at the bar. Service very well organized, friendly, short waiting time for drinks and food, Czech draft beer, affordable, food impeccable, the Black Café is worth a visit, perhaps better not on a Saturday during rush hour.

I ate a very delicious crepe (at 9pm). For those who say it's not right, lie. Recommended 100%. There is no photo because I ate it very quickly 🫣🤣

Honestly, this place has a great atmosphere! Of course, the wine and beer were delicious, but the atmosphere was really cozy and nice. The tiramisu wasn't very good, but the wine and beer were still delicious. For beer, I recommend Dju Dju mango!

Our visit to the café for breakfast left a predominantly positive impression. For the drinks we chose a cappuccino with oat milk and a latte macchiato, both of which tasted convincing. For dishes we chose the “Love on the Run” and the “Green Velvet Vegan”. Both breakfast options tasted appealing and the ingredients used were of good quality. Nevertheless, the ratio of toppings to rolls was negative: the toppings were significantly too generous compared to the amount of rolls. Here an additional bun or a reduced amount of toppings would have provided a better balance. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, which made the stay pleasant. The café itself scores with an interesting ambience and offers enough space to comfortably find a seat even at peak times. Conclusion: Despite small weaknesses in the presentation of the food, the café is a clear recommendation. The quality, the ambience and the service justify a visit.

Arrived in Berlin and had a delicious lunch. The menu includes a large selection of food and drinks. A café for everyone, pleasant atmosphere, ambience (a bit outdated) and super friendly service. The cappuccino is fantastic!

black & yet lively, with careful entrance management & yet still hopelessly overcrowded at 0100, a lively place in the dead C-Burg (youth language): What more could you want? Especially since the Absinthe Sour tastes good.

The food is really to die for and the staff is really great! Unfortunately it was very loud and the air was bad, so you couldn't stay that long; The toilets were also really not in good condition. But the food was really amazing and you won't forget that in a hurry.

Disappointment across the board Unfortunately, our last visit did not meet the high standards we were used to from your cuisine. The veal schnitzel was completely unseasoned and tasted disappointing as it lacked any seasoning. The Mosquito cocktail was more reminiscent of sparkling water with lime than a balanced, flavorful drink. The Kaiserschmarren was particularly disappointing, as it neither tasted nor looked convincing. It looked more like an omelette and was far from what you would expect from a classic Kaiserschmarren. We have greatly appreciated your cuisine in the past and regret that the quality could not be maintained this time. I really hope that you find your way back to your former strength, because your restaurant once had an excellent reputation, which unfortunately it is currently not living up to.

The restaurant has a really nice Berlin atmosphere, very authentic! The almond shake was super tasty and definitely recommended. The main courses are generously portioned, but the goose leg was a bit too tough. Overall, a solid visit, worth a try!

The café was something remarkable. The first impression from the outside was rather off-putting. When we entered the café was good for a Monday morning, but not full. The furnishings and the restaurant were simple and yet special. It is partly reminiscent of a meeting place for the alternative scene. The breakfast options were very varied and very nicely presented. The price was reasonable. Only cash payment is possible here. The toilets, on the other hand, smelled very much like a train station toilet and, thanks to the many stickers and Sharpie tags, they seemed like one. The seating area in the men's toilet was difficult to lock, and the construction of the toilet cubicle unfortunately offers insight for the "curious". When we wanted to take a photo of the outside facade as a souvenir after the visit, we were insulted by the staff. I will therefore avoid this location on my next visit to Berlin.

First coffee latte was almost like hot milk. Second attempt too. Ordered a large bottle of still water, after 20 minutes we were told there were no large bottles left. After that it took another 20 minutes until we had two little ones. The young waiter with slightly longer hair around his head was super nice and friendly, but a colleague of his wasn't, she gave us an eye roll because we complained that we had been waiting half an hour for water. Then only cash payment possible... So… everything mediocre. Cleanliness ok, outdated furnishings.

The café is beautifully and comfortably furnished. Super busy, so always make a reservation, especially in the evenings. The service was super friendly and worked as quickly as possible. It's understandable that it takes a little longer to eat when the café is super full. People don't constantly ask you if you want anything else, which I found very pleasant. Dinner was delicious, I think breakfast is just as good.

The Black Café is an absolute gem in Berlin! The atmosphere is unique – cozy, artistic and a bit alternative, exactly what you want from a Berlin café. Breakfast is incredibly delicious and is served 24 hours a day, perfect for a late start to the day. The homemade cakes are particularly a highlight! The service is friendly and attentive. Absolutely recommended, especially for night owls, as it is open 24 hours. Always my pleasure!

Das Schwarze Café ist Kult. Seit über 40 Jahren ist es eine der Top-Adressen für Nachtschwärmer in Charlottenburg. Es hat an jedem Wochentag mindestens bis 3 Uhr und von Freitag bis Montag durchgehend geöffnet! Dieser Laden ist eine echte Legende. Man kann hier auch Nachts frühstücken oder zum Frühstück Bratkartoffeln und ein Bierchen bekommen, so what?

You cannot really escape this place if you lead a certain lifestyle in this city. One of the very few options to get a conventional dinner or breakfast (if that is your preferred option) at any time of the day without resorting to the likes of McDonalds or fast-served kebab stands. My favorite are the omelette and the apple cake, though I was also told the pasta is pretty good – on the other hand, I would not really recommend the schnitzel. However, you do not really go here for the food – albeit you do, since it is your only opportunity to get it – but this is a comfortable place for the city’s more civilized outcasts, for the crowd too unsettled by an exhibition opening or by an opera performance to just leave it behind undiscussed and go home. The service may not be the fastest, but it is friendly and non-judgmental the way it should be – besides, you are just happy there is service on Tuesday at 1 am. The only spot where I would easily bring my snobbish upperclass father, my bohemian (and/or bougie!) friends and a date without much consideration. Really a bit sad that they cut their working hours to up to 3 am on weekdays – used to only be closed for five hours on Tuesday just a few months ago. People in Berlin really did not do this place’s unique generosity justice. Avoid before late hours – it can get rather touristy and full during regular hours (especially on Friday and Saturday), and you do not want this as a part of your experience.

Those who want to eat trip can go. The waiter was never interested, and even though we waited for half an hour for the waiter, even though we made eye contact, called out, and made gestures, he looked coolly at the adjacent tables and did not pay attention to us. Very nice café next to Kudamm, in Kantstraße known for its cafés/restaurants. The atypical but at the same time traditional atmosphere. Terrace at the front and small courtyard at the back, making us forget that we are in a capital.

Have you ever had cottage cheese with refined sugar? You can at Schwarzes Cafe! Just order a cheesecake, and you will see some dry-*ss cottage cheese clumps all over the plate. Waste of money and calories. (Tried carrot cake too - not as disgusting, simply bad) (the waiters were nice and friendly)

russian music has spoiled all atmosphere. We asked to change the song but the waiter and manager ignored our request. I don't want to eat in a restaurant that normalizes the Russian language and culture, regardless of the war they started.

Everything is very authentic and not artificial. Staff super friendly, committed and competent. Ambiance very cool and down-to-earth - no ski-ski. Food fantastic! If you are in Berlin, then definitely go to the “Schwarzes Cafe”.

The Food was there rather quickly, as well as the drinks. The Kaiserschmarrn was quite tasty, definitely on the sugary side but really tasty; the drinks were a bit small but this is to be expected. Back home in Westfalia, the tipping culture is quite different. And because the prize of the food and drinks (2 drinks 1 schmarrn) was already at 23€, we didn’t think about tipping; while paying with a 50€ bill, the waitress asked how much we get back, and we instinctively said 27 euros (was expensive enough as it was). Her reaction was what our problem was and smashed her wallet on the table, and told us, that we shouldn’t go out eating if we can’t afford the tip. She apparently would get by only with help of the tips (which is obviously not the case as we are not in America and pay livable wages) and that we have a problem. This is utterly ridiculous and should not be normalised under any circumstance.

Five stars with the caveat that that’s only if you take it for what it is, namely a very lively (loud) all-day/late-night hangout for the following groups: young people (<27), exceptionally PDA-heavy couples and groups of at least five. Past a certain time of day most customers will be exceptionally drunk or well on their way to doing so, and yet Schwarzes Café remains true to its name, providing both coffee and cooked meals into the wee hours. Add their generous provision of candles to the mix and the place becomes ideal for a fourth type of patron: the night owl with a book seeking both food and company when the only remaining establishments open are döner stands and McDonald’s. If you can block out the noise and the rowdiness of everyone around you - or, even more sensibly, become that noise and rowdiness - it’s an incredible place to be, large yet cosy and accommodating of all. The waiters are remarkably undeterred by the excesses of their guests and remain both nice and nimble, delivering your goodies with a smile within five to ten minutes. There’s a balcony for smokers. Upstairs is candle-lit, downstairs ceiling-lit. And the lasagne is very tasty, if drowning in tomato sauce. tl;dr loud, lively and solid as a post-midnight hangout

Yesterday, August 25th, I had breakfast here with my wife and daughter. The toast with buffalo mozzarella wasn't even one star for the price. The same went for the ginger tea. Toilets, well. The only bright spot was the older waitress.

This tiny place is a venerable institution from late 70’s West Berlin with nice foods and super cool people far from the noisy hype.

The service and ambience are great. But the breakfast itself, well. The scrambled eggs are just whole eggs from the Tetra pack, which doesn't work at all.

Delicious but cash only. The weird thing was that the waitress took a five out of my hand as a tip while I was looking how much I had in order to pay and I asked what she was doing. This took me by surprise. I thought this was very rude. I would go back for the food but I'm worried the same girl would be there. Delicious food but they only accept cash. Something strange what the waitress did was that she practically took five euros out of her hand and I didn't understand what she was doing. I was looking at how much I had to pay because I didn't know it was only cash. I thought it was rude of him to do something like that. This café is a Berlin legend! Especially crowded at night and there is always something to eat, a very extensive selection of different dishes. Breakfast is also a lot of fun here. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommended!!🥳😜🎊💋🎉

A classic! Good drinks and good food, especially the desserts, particularly the Kaiserschmarren :p is simply heavenly. Although I have the feeling that there is less caramel now. Actually, the whole plate was always completely covered in caramel. It's a shame, but at the same time I can understand it... it was definitely hell to get it clean again 🌝
