Cafe Hardenberg in Berlin

Very nice restaurant/café, with very good food and also very good breakfast. Prices are very fair. I had the Halloumi Hardenburger with Joopie sauce and tomato curry dip. Highly recommended, really good. The wedges with it are great! My companion chose the Brat-Shuka. That was also very good. I can also highly recommend the homemade lemonades, even if they are priced a little higher.

Cozy restaurant, also suitable for larger gatherings. Nice service, but sometimes seems overwhelmed. The food definitely has room for improvement. The toilets could also use an interim cleaning in the evening.

We ordered burgers over the phone with 2 sauces that were included. When the food was served on site, I noticed that a sauce was missing and ordered it. When I had paid the bill and was still in the restaurant, I noticed that I had paid extra for the sauce. I asked the staff. It was explained to me that I had ordered these afterwards and that there would be extra costs. According to the menu, there are 2 sauces for every burger. I only received one sauce. It was then discussed about an amount of €1.50. I would have liked an accommodation. Of course, we also had to give tips beforehand. I leave the restaurant rather disappointed with the first positive impression of the service. Too bad...

Café with a nice, cozy atmosphere and very tasty cakes. But the service really spoiled yesterday's visit. Two joys had been there for a while, I joined them after an hour. The waitress came, cleared things up briefly, but didn't ask if I wanted anything. Finally we were able to order. Our warm drinks took 25 minutes, my tea even took 50 minutes despite repeated requests. In total we sat at the table for two hours, one hour of which was spent with empty plates and cups. We would have liked to order something again. But no one came to clear away the empty dishes or ask if we wanted anything else. After two hours a friend managed to order a cappuccino. It was brought very quickly by the waitress. She took her friend's old cup with her. She completely ignored the empty dishes from the other four men. She also didn't ask, neither when ordering the cappuccino nor when bringing it home, whether the others wanted anything else. This service was disastrous to say the least.

The last time I was here was years ago. Not much has changed. Waitress very nice. The flat white was not good. Sorry guys, bitter, sour and expensive. That's not how it works.

I really like Café Hardenberg. I was there in 1991 and NOTHING has changed since then! You immerse yourself in an old Berlin world, somehow chic and with style and something special but at the same time simple and warm. I had hamburger and it was pretty greasy but the food is generally good/normal and the prices are very reasonable. Service super nice! The homemade lemonade is highly recommended!

This is an institution! This is a convent of old memories, and not just for students and former TU students. It is and remains a core size in Berlin and reflects the old cafe culture in Berlin before the StarBuchs and CoffeeFellows in test-tube charm. This is another real cafe with ambience. Good music, delicious cakes and a small but nice menu. People enjoy spending time here!

Spacious and therefore great in every respect - an institution between the zoo and the TU. The Camembert with cranberries was - I repeat - generous and sublime.

I've been coming to Café Hardenberg for over 15 years and it is and remains a classic! You feel like you're in another era there, but in a good way. 😊 The decor, the music, the menu… and such friendly service is also hard to find!

I have been to this place a couple times (not by my choice) and both times I couldn't bring myself to finish the food (same for multiple other people in my group). It's not bad, but it's not good either.

Cafe Hardenberg has always been a guarantee of reliable quality. In particular, the scrambled eggs for breakfast à la carte were unusually good here. The room is high and therefore never musty, but always free and stately, old Berlin. A traditional Berlin cafe with a solid offering at reasonable prices.

I stumbled on this place looking for a breakfast spot near a conference meeting space and it was so fortunate. Had a great breakfast here sitting outside and enjoying the weather. Staff and food were great. Coffee perfect. Two days later my wife and I wanted breakfast for my birthday so I took her here. I ordered what was described as a typical Israeli breakfast and it was a perfect 10/10. My wife loved her food and the restaurant as well. She went inside to use the restroom before we left and saw they had amazing cakes and a cool bar, so that might, she brought me back here after dinner for dessert. When we arrived it was the same server we had for breakfast that morning. We sat down, ordered a slice of cake (brownie cheesecake), and the bartender heard it was my birthday, so they offered us complimentary glass of champagne and put a candle in the cake slice. It’s so rare that service is genuine and food beyond excellent - this place had it all. Oh, and if you get a chance, read up on the history of the building itself. Such a cool spot!!!

A traditional Berlin restaurant with a very Berlin flair, excellent service, extremely friendly staff and low prices, especially given the special location. Every time we come here we have a great time. I highly recommend it.

We were there for dinner as a larger group. The portions were quite small. About half of the group ordered another main course to fill them up. I had the tagliatelle with ruccola pesto and feta. There could have been a little more pesto and feta on the pasta. The food tasted good. I had a homemade lemonade. It tasted too watery for me, so I've had better. The service was friendly and attentive.

Was there with work colleagues. My Schnitzel Förster style was unfortunately a bit tough, but still edible. The service was super friendly. The atmosphere inside is completely OK. The citizen's patti was a bit gristly and a bit over-spiced (some people like it, some people don't). Still a solid 6/10. Next time I'll try something different :).

Very pleasant lunch at this cafe with a broad menu in a Art Nouveau building. I had a flammekuchen (flatbread) and my companion a salad with roasted vegis and feta. Both excellent. They also have heavier dishes, snacks, beers, coffees etc.

Dette stedet er herlig uformelt. Gode porsjoner, veldig vennlig og flink betjening. Vi kommer tilbake neste i er i Berlin.

Food was delicious and ample. Service was gracious. We went for expediency (rented apt for the week is near) and were pleased enough that we anticipate a return. I'm vegetarian and they happily gave me excellent feta cheese in place of meat. Grilled potatoes & mushrooms, varied lettuces, bread, all excellent. Everything was very clean, nice service, varied menu. This time I had mustard with mashed potatoes, which you don't get very often - very tasty, filling for under 9 euros.

Good, long-established café. The prices are a bit more solid, in relation to the size of the portions (cake), but still within reason. And that's why it tastes good. Friendly & uncomplicated operation. 👍🏻

The ambience and service were phenomenal..the food lacks value for money (penne dream)..I also think that the sophistication was missing and the actually well-balanced combination of thyme-hazelnut-parmesan was completely lost in my dish. At least the chicken was juicy and tender. The rest of the dish was unfortunately bland..But they have classic cocktails which they have mastered to the finest..you can't fault the service: friendly, attentive, unobtrusive - professional^^

I can only judge the football area. Just under €120 for 90 minutes of providing a football pitch in an uncooled hall - for me the price-performance ratio is not right.

Ich hatte Schnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln. Das Schnitzel war sehr dünn, fast nur Panade. Die Bratkartoffeln waren Scheiben von gekochten Kartoffeln, aber kaum angebraten. Ich hatte mich beschwert und Preisnachlass verlangt. Wurde abgelehnt.

Trotz angemeldeter Gruppe (40 Personen) mit vorbestellten Essen, extrem lange Wartezeit bei Getränken UND Essen. Essen zudem trocken, kalt und hart. Service nicht vorhanden und trotzdem Servicepauschale von 10 Prozent abgerechnet. Nicht zu empfehlen!

Alt-Berliner Institution, stets gut besucht. Für meinen Geschmack stehen die Tische zu eng und die Geräuschkulisse ist recht laut. Nicht so mein Geschmack.

Das ist wirklich noch die Atmosphäre vom alten West Berlin. Essen hervorragend, Service außerordentlich freundlich. Ambiente klasse. Toller Tipp nach Kudamm Bummel hier einzukehren, oder vor oder nach einem Theater Besuch.

I was twice in this cafe. First time we had to wait a very long time for the waitress. She would just ignore our every attempt to communicate. But then a while later I decided to give this place a second chance, and look what I got (see photos)! I mean.. they told me that these are the traces from a slicer machine, but honestly does it look like that?! Very disappointing experience

Average German restaurant in a city with so many to choose from. It felt more like a beer hall. One person at our table didn't receive their meal until well after everyone else finished. I am unlikely to return.

Ganz nett und gemütlich, die Preise scheinen fast günstig zu sein im Vergleich zu den anderen Cafes in der Gegend. Das Restaurant ist sogar besser geworden als vor ein Paar Jahren, die Renovierung hat dem Laden Gutes getan.

Als Berliner hier das 1x ! Irgendwie uriges Ambiente, große Räume , hohe Decken. Frühstücksauswahl sehr gut, Qualität auch gut. Ist eine nette Stimmung dort, nicht so laut und gemixtes Publikum.

wir (5 touries aus nrw aber 1x/ quartal in berlin) haben nach dem aus checken nen cafe in der nähe gesucht mit frühstück und das cafe hardenberg sprach uns an auf maps. im cafe 11:30 uhr etwa haben wir nach nem platz für 5 gefragt ohne reservierung und haben gott sei dank nen platz auf der "empore" bekommen, einen platz etwa 10 stufen hoch und man kann von dort auf einen kleinen teil des cafes herab sehen zu den anderen gästen. frühstück "leckermäulchen" war top, siehe bilder 😉 preis/leistung für ne weltstadt mehr wie gut. 1x anderes frühstück (namen schon vercheckt 🤔) war auch mega. personal 1+ ambiente 1+ das cafe hat den charme von berlin , ich feier berlin und viele läden weil es so positiv anders ist 💖

Very delicious! We ordered drinks and 2 portions of Kaiserschmarn (Kind of like small pancakes) with vanilla sauce and a Bratkartoffelpfanne. Everything was good. The have free WI-FI (Wi-Fi) there and clean toilets. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to try some german food.

Immer gut besucht! Früher als Studenten Café bekannt. Gegenüber die technische Universität. Leider stimmen die Preise zu damals nicht mehr überein. 🫠 Es ist mehr besucht von Ur-Berlinern und Touristen. Das Café muss unter den wirtschaftlichen Aspekt sicherlich umstrukturieren! Der klassische Stil hat sich verbessert. Die Innenarchitektur wurde modernisiert. Die Speisekarte bietet günstiges frisches Mittagsangebot an. Es ist sehr sauber! Die Bedienung immer sehr freundlich. Die Torten Angebote sind ein Highlight. Außerhalb des Mittagsangebot sind die Preise etwas höher auf der Karte. Aber dafür hat das Café seine eigene Kreation entwickelt. Das Angebot wechselt stets und ist interessant. Frühstück bis Abendessen sowie Café und Kuchen in warmer Kamin Atmosphäre hat das Café zu bieten.

Die Bedienung (die junge Dame) war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen hat gut geschmeckt und da es relativ günstig ist, kann man keine zu hohen Erwartungen an der Qualität haben. Also, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt. P. S. Eigentlich ein schönes Lokal, das scheinbar nicht mehr so richtig gepflegt wird. Die Bar ist nicht optimal eingerichtet und die traurigen Martini-Flaschen lassen den Laden billig aussehen, zumindest für mich. Dieser Laden hat sehr viel Potenzial, wenn man da etwas Arbeit reinsteckt. Fürs Erste könnte man die Bar etwas aufhübschen und für gemütlichere Atmosphäre sorgen (z.B Teelichter und passende Musik).

I thought I ordered a burger with Halloumi and oven veggies based on what the menu said, but the waitress explained to me that it was a decision, either oven veggies or sauces. That's not what the menu said, and it was not explained by the waitress when I ordered. They gave me ice cream as a sorry, but my burger tasted like a Halloumi kebab in the end. Not the worst thing, but definitely not the best. Don't expect exceptional cuisine.

Sehr gehobener Ort zum speisen in West Berlin. Ambiente ist dazu top gestaltet als fühlt man sich in einem Hotel.... Man kommt bald wieder!!!
