Oxymoron in Berlin

Wir haben mittags im Oxymoron gegessen. Der Service war äußerst aufmerksam, das Essen gut und man kann schön im Hof sitzen.

Uns gefiel es im kühlen Innenhof – wir aßen draußen. Der Service war hervorragend und das Essen lecker. Wir hatten ein wirklich gutes Pastagericht. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Für 5,80€ ein sehr kleines Kuchenstück erhalten. Leider auch geschmacklich nicht so toll wie erwartet… immerhin war der Service ganz nett.

Überteuert. Schlechter Service. Das Essen war essbar. Ich werde nicht wiederkommen.

Das Oxymoron im ersten Hof ist für mich einer der schönsten Spots in der Ecke. Ein toller Mix aus elegantem Salon-Vibe und gemütlicher Atmosphäre – perfekt, um dem Trubel der Rosenthaler Straße kurz zu entkommen. Der Kaffee ist hervorragend und die Auswahl an Kuchen und Torten gut und frisch. Dazu ein herzlicher Service. Perfekt für eine entspannte Kaffeepause in besonderer Kulisse.

Wir hatten zuerst Carpaccio. Es war nicht das beste, aber in Ordnung, vor allem zum Wein. Der Kellner empfahl uns einen Red Bull & Campari Spritz, der uns sehr gut geschmeckt hat! 🍹 Der Hamburger war auch okay, die Soße darin hat mir gut gefallen. Der Oktopus (9/10) war super, auch der Teller hat mir gefallen. Insgesamt 8/10. Ihr solltet unbedingt mal hingehen – leckeres Essen und sehr freundliches Personal! ☺️🧿💖

Wir waren zur Mittagszeit da, es war wirklich nett und der Kellner sehr zuvorkommend. Haben eine sehr wohlschmeckende Suppe gegessen. Immer wieder gerne 👍

Ein wirklich tolles kleines Lokal mit fantastischem Personal. Das Essen war köstlich, ich kann einen Besuch wärmstens empfehlen.

Unverschämte Trinkgeldzwangsmasche, manipulativer Manager. Meiden!

Das Essen war hervorragend, der Kellner am 29.5. außergewöhnlich freundlich, zugewandt und wendig - das sind wir aus Wien ja so gar nicht gewohnt. Zum erneuten Frühstück am 30.5. fühlten wir uns allerdings schlagartig wie zuhause. Wir kommen trotzdem wieder, denn letztlich zählt der erste Eindruck.

10% automatisch Trinkgeld ist einfach eine Unverschämtheit

Auf die Rechnung wurde eine obligatorische Bedienungsgebühr von 10 % aufgeschlagen. Bedienung sollte freiwillig sein, nicht verpflichtend. Unerwartete Zuschläge dieser Art wirken irreführend und hinterlassen einen faden Beigeschmack, unabhängig vom Essen. Transparente Preise sind wichtig, und leider hat dieses Restaurant in dieser Hinsicht versagt. Nicht empfehlenswert.

Netter Platz, aber beim Zahlen habe ich meinen Humor verloren - Suppe bestellt für 10,- sehr kleine Portion, das ist aber nicht der Ärger. Kellner fragt wollen Sie etwas Brot dazu, ich sage ja gerne, es kommen 4 dünne kleine Scheiben Brot - die Kosten dann 8,- Euro - das ist nun ja, ein freundlicher Ausdruck fällt mir dazu nicht ein. Nachtrag - der Inhaber unterstellt mir Unwahrheiten. Frage möchten Sie etwas Brot zur Suppe? Kein Hinweis das ich dann einfach Brot für 4x 1,90€ bekomme - wir waren zu viert, also stellt man Suppe oder keine Suppe 4 x Brot für alle auf den Tisch - steht ja auch in der Karte. Nun ja verarschen kann ich mich allein - unabhängig was dieses Restaurant schreibt bleibe ich bei meiner natürlich rein persönlichen Meinung - ich bereise regelmäßig geschäftlich ganz Europa und traue mir schon zu gewisse Dinge einordnen zu können.

Sehr aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service. Köstliches Essen, tolle Geschmackskombinationen. Originelles und originelles Interieur. Ruhige Lage in einem schönen Innenhof abseits der Straße. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Essen ist angesichts der Preise einfach nur mittelmäßig. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr trist – erinnert an ein Krankenhaus. Am schlimmsten war aber: Der Kellner hat mir ohne Vorwarnung 10 % Trinkgeld zusätzlich berechnet, was in Deutschland illegal ist – die Behörden wurden informiert. Ich werde nie wieder hierherkommen.

War ganz nett, allerdings wurden bei unseren Wünschen nicht gut zugehört und obwohl ich vegetarisch bestellte kam etwas mit Fleisch. Schon seltsam, ansonsten sehr gute Lage und nettes Ambiente.

Wir waren gestern Abend im Oxymoron essen. Es war wirklich ein hervorragendes Erlebnis. Wir bestellten Hähnchen mit Zitronensauce und Linguine mit Forelle. Das Hähnchen war perfekt zubereitet, alles wunderschön angerichtet und der Geschmack exzellent. Zum Nachtisch teilten wir uns Bananeneis mit Zitronenkuchen. Alles war hervorragend!

Ich war mit meiner Freundin Emilija im Oxymoron und es war wunderbar. Im Trubel der Stadt mit ihren zahlreichen Baustellen (auch vor und neben dem Restaurant) findet man diese kleine Oase. Sie wirkt wie ein bissel aus der Zeit gefallen mit den gewaltigen Kronleuchtern, der orientalischen Tapete und den weiß eingedeckten Tischen. Welches Restaurant leistet sich noch weißen Tischdecken? Der Ober nahm freundlich unsere Bestellung entgegen und unsere Wahl entpuppte sich als ausgesprochene Köstlichkeit. Vitello tonnato - einfach wunderbar und das Sauerteigbrot war die perfekte Beilage!!! Wir kommen jederzeit gern wieder und würde es jedem Berlinbesucher empfehlen, 👍

Die Lage ist super. Der Außenbereich ist auch sehr schön, aber die Preise wirken etwas überteuert – ich habe über 40 € für einen Caesar Salad, einen Kaffee, einen Tee und Wasser bezahlt. Der Kellner verlangte außerdem Trinkgeld und wollte uns nicht ohne bezahlen lassen. Nachtrag: Ich habe meiner Bewertung Bilder hinzugefügt, damit jeder sehen kann, dass die Informationen korrekt sind und auch die Größe des 20 € teuren Caesar Salads (zzgl. Aufpreis für Hähnchen) sehen kann. Bitte lesen Sie auch die anderen 1- und 2-Sterne-Bewertungen, um zu verstehen, wie dieses Restaurant mit Trinkgeld umgeht.

Das Oymoron ist ein sehr schönes Restaurant mit besonderem Charme. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und stilvoll, eine gelungene Mischung aus lebendig und entspannt – ideal für einen angenehmen Abend. Das Essen war gut bis sehr gut, kreativ und mit hochwertigen Zutaten zubereitet. Man merkt, dass hier mit Anspruch gekocht wird. Der Service war freundlich, auch wenn es an manchen Stellen noch etwas runder laufen könnte z.B. wurden wir weder gefragt ob wir noch was trinken möchten noch ob wir Nachttisch oder Kaffee wünschen. Insgesamt ein tolles Restaurant mit eigenem Charakter und guter Küche – 4 Sterne und definitiv einen Besuch wert.

Dieses Restaurant hat in allen Bereichen überzeugt und verdient ohne Zweifel eine Empfehlung. Die Einrichtung fügt sich perfekt in das historische Ambiente der Hackeschen Höfe ein und schafft eine gemütliche, aber dennoch moderne Atmosphäre. Der Service war freundlich und zuvorkommend ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein – man fühlte sich von Anfang an willkommen. Das Essen hat den bereits sehr positiven Eindruck perfekt abgerundet. Jedes Gericht war ein wahres Geschmackserlebnis, von den Aromen bis zur Präsentation. Besonders das Entenleberparfait hat mich begeistert – die Kombination von Entenleber und der Pflaume war einfach genial. Angesichts der hochwertigen Zutaten und der gelungenen Präsentation war der Preis absolut fair. Auch die Portionsgröße war meiner Meinung nach ideal – sättigend, ohne dass man sich überessen fühlt. Ebenfalls hervorzuheben ist die vielseitige Getränkeauswahl, die mit einer breiten Palette an erstklassigen Weinen, Cocktails und guten alkoholfreien Optionen überzeugt. Ein Restaurant, das ich jedem nur empfehlen kann und definitiv wieder besuchen werde!

Hervorragendes Essen in einem außergewöhnlichen Ambiente – es fühlt sich an wie in Wien. Mittags ist es sehr, sehr ruhig, ein idealer Ort für Geschäftstreffen, wenn man Eindruck schinden möchte. Abends war ich noch nicht dort. Vegetarische Vorspeise und Hauptgericht mit Mineralwasser kosteten knapp 40 Euro pro Person ohne Trinkgeld (es gibt aber auch ein etwas günstigeres 3-Gänge-Menü).

Ich liebe das Oxymoron. Schon das Gebäude und die Einrichtung sind etwas Besonderes und steigern die Erwartung spürbar. Der Service und die Qualität der Speisen schaffen es dann aber fast jedes Mal, diese Erwartungen sogar noch zu übertreffen. Alles wirkt sehr stimmig, aufmerksam und hochwertig. Ja, das Haus hat seinen Preis – den empfinde ich aber als absolut angemessen. Für uns immer wieder ein besonderes Erlebnis.

Super service, atmosphere und Essen. Waren heute nach dem Kino dort und haben spontan sehr lecker zu Abend gegessen und guten Rosé Wein getrunken.

Die Cocktails waren wirklich gut, der Service auch, obwohl dem Speisesaal die Atmosphäre fehlte. Der Nachtisch war enttäuschend, die Vorspeisen hingegen hervorragend. Das Lokal ist wunderschön.

Oxymoron is a fantastic spot for brunch in Berlin. The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, with a relaxed but lively vibe. The food is consistently excellent, with generous portions and creative, well-executed dishes. Everything tastes fresh and carefully prepared. The service is friendly and efficient, even when the place is busy. It’s very popular for a reason, so there can be a wait, but it’s absolutely worth it. A great place to start the day.

Food is well cooked and delicious.

In times of poor service, unfriendly staff, bad food, etc., this restaurant is a true exception! The food was sensational (I've never eaten such delicious Brussels sprouts), the service was extremely courteous, attentive, and friendly, and the ambiance is exactly what you'd expect from a nice Berlin restaurant. And all this at very reasonable prices. Truly impressed. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

We only stopped at Oxymoron for a beer and were completely satisfied. The beer was delicious, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Everything was perfect, and it was a great place to stop for a quick drink!

Very attentive and friendly service. We had breakfast at Oxymoron and received excellent service. The breakfast was very plentiful and the coffee was delicious.

ATMOSPHERE: Elegant decor inside, nice outdoor seating in a courtyard setting. BEVERAGE: Berliner Beer Good with a light taste. FOOD: Ravioli Delish. Chantrells, truffle oil & pecorino cheese. Risotto Avoid. Done with arborio green peas, leek, broad beans, parmesan cheese & pig. It was tasteless, sauceless, and the risotto was undercooked. OVERALL: We had a nice time with our local friends. Maybe we ordered the wrong food, but that's what we were craving and were disappointed.

This is our go to place in Berlin. The atmosphere taking us back to the height of 1920s. The Egg Benedict is a must for breakfast, and the pasta with summer truffle is 10/10 for late lunch. The staff is friendly and always aware of our needs, but never pushy

Everything is right about Oxymoron. Just go! An impressive variety of extremely well prepared dishes with quality ingredients. Gorgeous and historic but unpretentious atmosphere makes you and your fellow dinners feel human and real. Absolutely superb service from Mario!

Delicious scrambled egg combinations for breakfast. Perfectly roasted and prepared coffee, and friendly and attentive service. What more could you want?

A very disappointing experience. We wanted to eat and drink something here today. We had already picked up ice cream from across the street with our son and wanted to sit down and order something at the same time. This wasn't possible. The server was very rude and asked us to leave. Even the warning that we wouldn't be back seemed to be ignored. I understand that not everyone should just sit there. But we wanted to eat and drink there, especially since only a quarter of the tables were occupied. We can't recommend this restaurant and won't be returning. Friendliness and service orientation are different!

Location and service were top-notch. Unfortunately, I have to deduct a point for the portion size. For €16 per salad, I expect a bit more. And I really didn't like the Berliner Weisse in a lemonade or water glass.

The location is everything. On top of everything, soup, cappuccino, and service are also great.

Very tasty food, attentive and friendly service, especially on a very busy summer evening. Naturally, the price is on the higher end, but it's worth it. It's Rosenthaler Höfe, and restaurant prices have been rising anyway. But it's still okay, though the drinks are borderline expensive.

A very nice place to relax and enjoy yourself. A sophisticated ambiance, a small, well-stocked selection of food and drinks. Extremely friendly service, coupled with a Berlin accent. It makes you feel at home. Thank you very much, I'll be back.

The Oxymoron exudes a very pleasant warmth; the decor and the location in the Hackesche Höfe make it elegant and homey. The prices are quite high for small portions, but so many things have become more expensive these days, and for me, it's enough. Everything tastes wonderful, too. I've been there several times (with and without companions), but I always felt very condescendingly treated by the same waitresses. Perhaps my blazer didn't look expensive enough, and my friendliness and the tip apparently didn't count. It's a shame; I would have liked to be a more frequent customer, but this kind of social distinction makes every visit less enjoyable.

The staff was very unfriendly. I ordered the risotto but i’m sorry that was just normal white rice?? The rice wasn’t even fully cooked too. When I told them, the waiter picked my food up without saying something and walked to the kitchen. 5 minutes later i got the same thing but with more bouillon sauce so it covered the rice up 😂. He didn’t say anything. I don’t care if something goes wrong, but at least check in with your customer. Just felt like they didn’t care. The food that my family ordered was fine. Still would not recommended.

Very tasty food - a little too expensive

After the menu was brought to me rather quickly, nothing else happened. I then asked if I could order and was rather harshly dismissed. After I finally ordered a drink, it was shoved in my face without any decoration or care. I was then even pressured to tip. All in all, arrogant and snotty. Not recommended. - However, there are said to be people who have eaten well there and were satisfied with the service. 🤷‍♀️

Went there for dinner. Great food, amazing service and excellent drinks. Absolutely loved it. It's on the pricey side but worth it.

Whenever we're in Berlin, we always come here for breakfast. I love this place – great atmosphere (inside and out), exceptionally friendly service, and a wonderful breakfast! You can't start the day any better...

We stopped by for cake. It's a very nice location and therefore a lovely atmosphere. The cake is a bit on the expensive side, but it's organic and delicious!

A group of five ordered an afternoon aperitif. We had to wait an unusually long time for our order, the drinks to be delivered, and the bill. After paying, the manager complained that we hadn't tipped enough. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it! Beautiful courtyard in a central location.

We wanted to have a pre-dinner cocktail and the place looked great! Well, we sat down, the waiter came over with menus, and then we waited. And waited. And waited. The staff went to several other tables doing this and then that. And never came to take our order. After a long while we left. Menus still on table. Don't want to waste my time (or my money) at a place where they can't get their ducks in order. Go elsewhere.

Waiter shouted at my son for grabbing a chair from another table even though he asked the seated ladies if he could use it beforehand. We ordered 2 drinks and rounded the sum up by 1€ and he told us to never come again.

We had an exquisite evening here. The food was exceptional and very tasty. The service was exemplary and we couldn’t fault a thing. We would particularly like to thank Tom whose courtesy and warmth made tge evening extra special.

Wow, that's Berlin snark at its most unfriendly. I was there with two friends, and we were treated incredibly unfriendly by the waiter. I haven't experienced anything like that in years. It was absolutely clear: no matter whether I'm friendly or not, the place is always full. Actually, in the age of Google reviews, that's not really the case anymore. If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

Oxymoron in Berlin is a total gem! Tucked away in the beautiful Hackesche Höfe, the vibe is cozy and stylish with a touch of vintage charm. The food is super fresh and creative — I loved the goat cheese ravioli, and the risotto was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the cocktails were top-notch. It's the perfect spot for a chill night out. Highly Recommend!

Everything is very relaxed. But expensive prices (cappuccino €4.6) and unfortunately no glass of water. With such a price and an “upscale” restaurant there could be something more.

Recently, my friends and I visited Oxymoron in Berlin, and our experience was excellent. The restaurant is located in one of the beautiful inner courtyards of Hackescher Hof, very close to Hackescher Markt station, making it easily accessible while still being quiet and away from the crowds. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beautiful, elegant, and cozy atmosphere. The interior is spacious, with a unique blend of modern and classic styles, creating a relaxing ambiance. The service was impeccable – the staff was friendly, quick, and always ready to recommend dishes and wines that suited our tastes. The menu offers European and Central European flavors with interesting Asian influences, which immediately caught our attention. We ordered a variety of dishes, all of which were well-prepared, made with fresh ingredients, and beautifully presented. I personally tried the risotto, which was outstanding, with a velvety texture and a perfect balance of flavors. We were also particularly impressed by the vegetarian and vegan options, which were excellent and lacked nothing in taste. The wine pairing suggested by the staff complemented our meal perfectly, enhancing our overall experience. The prices were absolutely reasonable for the quality of food and service we received. We left completely satisfied, both with the meal and the atmosphere. If you find yourself in Berlin and are looking for high-quality food in a beautiful and comfortable setting, Oxymoron is definitely a place worth trying!

First class, relaxed, very good offer and nice ambience, prices very fair, we were there very often. Sometimes annoying visitors who have something to complain about

We were there spontaneously as tourists - two adults, one child. After our arrival was watched suspiciously from the counter, we were asked to please store our backpacks, which had been placed slightly (!) in the area of ​​the free neighboring table, on the aisle side. They wanted someone to be able to sit at the next table. However, tripping hazards in the hallway are obviously less of a problem. After the unpleasant observation before, the strange feeling was perfect and we left. Too bad. Luckily the restaurant around the corner was warmer.

Rote Beete Risotto, Spinat, Meerrettichcreme, frischer Spinat und Fleich/vegetarisch. Es war mega lecker, sehr raffiniert abgeschmeckt. Das Verhältnis zu Säure, Salzigem und Süße stimmte vollends. Wir kommen beim nächsten Berlinbesuch wieder.

Klassisch ‚barocke“ Einrichtung , ein großer Saal. Gutes cooles Ambiente , gute Kellner . Gutes Essen . Empfehlenswert
