One of the nicest pubs in the area, it's a shame there's almost never any seats, I recommend you go early

Went to watch nfl football. 120$ tab with beer and food....then. Before the game was over, they started karaoke on all the TV monitors. When we questioned the karaoke the waitress demanded payment of the tab. Never again. We will go to Kennedys irish bar/pub.

We have been there once and we had a lot of fun so we wanted to come back there but They didn’t let us in just because we apparenty were just “young” (23 years old) and italians. We even waited there for 30 minutes just to see if some people were leaving the place, and they did but still we weren’t allowed to go by the security guard. We litteraly heard the bodyguard saying “I don’t let come in this young Italian guys, they are not gonna find anything else to go anyway” Extremly rude and racist to my point of view.

This pub immediately gives off an O'Reilly's vibe, similarly cozy in its vaulted cellar, nicely and attractively decorated, also a good place to watch football. I can't comment on the food, but the beer is quite expensive; a half-liter of Augustiner costs €6.50. That's quite a price, probably due to the location, although of course it can be different – ​​even in the city center. But regardless, it's a lovely and cozy pub in a prime location.

The bartender was working very hard but they needed more bartenders. The beer was average and the coke was a coke. We were promised NFL RedZone but they didn’t play any NFL AT ALL. Overall it was overrated and mid-3 stars.

If there was a zero star i would give! Change your security guard at the door! Very disrespectful and rude! I am a 24 year old and he shouted you’re too young id id. As i am a tourist i won’t be holding my passport with me to get robbed on the way, so he did not accept a photo of it. and the hilarious thing is that the age limit is 18. Work on your staff! Or you will lose your customers! If i seem young definitely not less than 18 old!! Shame honestly.

Good bar, decent food and service

A wonderful Irish pub with a real atmosphere. From the first minutes you feel cozy: warm light, wooden interior, bookshelves and the same Irish character, for which you want to come back again and again. Excellent Guinness, a pleasant audience and a calm atmosphere, where time seems to stand still. A perfect place to sit with friends, chat or just enjoy the evening with a glass of good beer. Thank you to the pub for the mood, character and real atmosphere. This is exactly what a real Irish pub should be. 🍀🍺

Well, the pub looks great, but you have to wait forever for a waiter, and the chicken wraps tasted like they came from a supermarket. Plus, they were served cold. It was a one-time visit.

Good vibes, great atmosphere, but the service wasn't very knowledgeable and relied heavily on their own drinks menu. The karaoke night was great, but the karaoke master was unfortunately self-absorbed and couldn't read the energy in the room. It's a shame, as he repeatedly killed the mood with his own medleys and inappropriate songs. Please put your ego aside.

A great, hidden pub where they have karaoke every night. There's also a security guard on duty every evening, which put my mind at ease. I had a Guinness – very good, as always. It's self-service, and behind the bar was a very friendly gentleman with a mustache. The pub is a bit dark, and the steep stairs were a little difficult with my knee problems. Nevertheless, everything was clean (including the toilet). A lovely evening in Munich.

The noise level and background noise were acceptable at first, but later became so loud that conversation was nearly impossible. The food was a complete disappointment. For that price, you expect quality. The burger had no dressing whatsoever, just a few tomatoes and onions. The service was mediocre. The decor was okay, but overall it's far too expensive for what you get, and the quality is poor.

Overpriced but really nice Atmosphere

A mediocre pub, neither good nor bad. The food is below average, not disgusting, but certainly nothing to write home about. The burgers are fairly priced at €14, as the portion of fries is relatively large. The topped quesadillas are way too expensive, but the regular nachos are quite reasonable. €6 for a 0.5l beer is typical for Munich's Marienplatz. The service was okay, but we were sitting in the furthest corner, so our experience might be a bit worse than usual. Everything is in the basement, so it's a bit cramped when it's full, but you could also see that as a great atmosphere – it's a matter of taste. They were showing football, which was a bonus. All in all, we probably wouldn't come back; the food really isn't worth it, and for my taste, it's all a bit too cramped. There are definitely better options.

We were just here to drink 1-10 Guinnesses and enjoy the Irish atmosphere. I've been here several times now, and every time it's been the same great experience. You arrive early and are one of the few people there, and by the end, the bar is packed. That really speaks to the welcoming atmosphere. The beer is always excellent, too.

Nice pub with great music. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on that. The service was so-so; we often had to order at the bar ourselves. It's a shame that some of the staff don't speak German, or perhaps don't want to, especially since there are customers who don't speak English!

Salmon was quite boring. Sides of roasted potatoes and sautéed garlic spinach. I requested a side of sweet potatoes. They substituted some broccoli. Still did not do it for me. Staff were great! Very attentive.

One of the boys got a nose bleed and the security guy wouln't let us in. After a friend questioned this decision he was straight up punched in the face by the security guy (big dark man) and we had to call the police to get it resolved

Our expectations were met — actually, far exceeded! Perfect Irish style, a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, friendly and laid-back environment — genuine fun for those who truly want to enjoy themselves. Great selection of beers and alcoholic drinks, and music for all tastes. Nice place for a drink, an Irish beer and chat in a very warm cosmopolitan atmosphere with your friends or making new friends, watch a football macht or other sports in the season in its confortable basement.

Long opening hours, quite cozy in the basement. Cell reception only via Wi-Fi. Cold air conditioning in some places. Drinks only. A bit over the top with the cameras - there are cameras pointed at you everywhere, even in the restroom. Karaoke from 10/11 p.m. Sunday to Tuesday. Competitors like Kilians or Kennedyies are usually busier.

A fantastic Irish pub without all the leprechaun, pots of gold etc. Beautiful staff, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere with great music. I am going back tonight to watch the football and enjoy the company. Great for the solo traveller like myself as well as groups of visitors to the wonderful city of Munich.

For a basement Irish pub, it felt very clean and well-maintained. The beer was delicious, and I enjoyed the relaxed and informal atmosphere.

This is hands down the most beautiful Irish pub I’ve been to! We had an amazing karaoke night here and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. We met Jimmy who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The customers were fun and entertaining, and we received such a warm, pleasant welcome right at the door. The whole vibe of the place just made for a perfect evening. If you’re looking for an authentic Irish pub experience with great people and a lively atmosphere, this is the place to be! Highly recommend! We’ll definitely be coming back.

I recently had a really great evening at the Scholars Lounge in Munich. The ambiance is cozy and inviting – beautifully decorated with wood and leather, with a typical Irish pub feel. The location in the heart of Munich is also super central, making it easy to get there on foot or by public transport. The service was friendly and attentive, and the drinks selection was extensive – in addition to classic beer and cider offerings, there were also delicious cocktails and a good menu. I particularly liked that they're open until the early hours (usually until around 4 a.m.) – perfect if you want to go out later. My only minor criticism: The noise level got a bit loud towards the end – if you prefer a quieter atmosphere, you might want to come earlier. Overall, though, it's absolutely recommended for a relaxed pub evening in Munich.

The service was garbage and the bouncer was racist about letting us in. Do not recommend this bar to anyone.

We went to see Luis Díaz in today's game. We had a great time, and the whole Munich bar atmosphere was spectacular. We're taking back fond memories of this place. It was worth waiting for a spot to watch the game.

They kicked us out of the pub at 2030 saying we were locked out and didn't even bother to tell us why.

Not a bad spot in the centre. Opens late like till 3am. Only thing is 6.50eur Helles beer is not overly cheap ! But great fun bar.

Atmosphere is good, very friendly crowd. But the staff and service is rather questionable. Guinness Draft was serve mildly warm. No condensation on the glass.

The vibe was really good, they play really good music and the staff is really kind.

The bartender is a Dubliner and knows his Irish whiskey. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this pub and the personal service.

I had such high hopes for the place but the prices on the menu were totally different from what they served. An Aperol on the menu was 5.50 but they sold it as 14.50 euro.

The bartender was so insane, I never wanted to go home. I hope everyone gets to experience this awesome guy. His Guinness tasted like an angel's piss (very good).

We only come here because of Dominik he even makes Guinness taste great…being in his presence just makes you value life and everything seems to be made of gold…for the time you stay here you actually believe that a peaceful world is not just possible but inevitable !!! And while i am at it Simu is also an angle like barkeeper…his drinks make you question the concept of god…maybe he did not rest on the seventh day maybe he created Simu to give you the best experience in any irish pub ever

An Irish pub which is said to offer amazing drinks and great ambience.

After so many Weiss we wanted something different, and, reminded of Ireland, we decided to come to this Irish pub for a cold ale and some light food. What can I say, we even caught the karaoke night. Great experience, excellent beers, and the chicken wrap was delicious too!

A typical American sports bar, pretending to be an Irish pub. The only Irish thing about it, is the Guinness. All off the music is "Top 50" or what ever. NOTHING Irish about that! Only local and American sports broadcasts- no Irish sports (football, Gaelic League sports, etc.) on the TVs."You can out lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig."

I got food poisoning from the cheeseburger. Not recommended.

One UK Imperial Pint ~~ 568ml, but unfortunately, you get 500ml here. Disappointing and incorrect, as the menu lists pints. The bartender didn't answer my question about this—she said she didn't know how much a pint is. For the second round, I had to go to the bar myself, even though the place was practically empty. However, the decor and atmosphere lived up to expectations, so I commend them for that.

A very nice Irish pub with Kilkenny on tap, cool music, and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, they don't offer fish and chips, but the cheeseburgers are good.

I rarely write reviews, but today I just can’t stay silent. I come to this bar almost every day. I’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere, the service, the staff. I understand that working behind a bar is not easy — lots of guests, sometimes drunk or rude. But that should never be an excuse for unprofessional behavior. After all, we all choose our jobs, right? Yesterday, my boyfriend and I were sitting at the bar, peacefully enjoying a beer. Unfortunately, I accidentally broke a glass. We immediately apologized and even cleaned it up ourselves — which, let’s be honest, isn’t really our responsibility. As usual, we also left a tip. But the reaction of the bartender (tall guy, dark hair) completely shocked me. He acted arrogant, dismissive, and disrespectful. The only thing we heard after the incident was a snappy “WAIT, YOU’RE NOT THE ONLY ONES IN THIS PLACE!” As if we broke the glass on purpose. I calmly told him that accidents happen and I was more than willing to pay for the damage. That’s not the issue. But if someone chooses to work in hospitality, the least they can do is provide decent service. I don’t come to a bar to be disrespected — I come to relax, to enjoy, and yes, to spend my money. I’ve worked in hospitality for many years myself. I know what it means to be tired, overwhelmed, under pressure. But I also know that how you treat your guests says everything about your place. Please, talk to your staff about basic customer service. I know Munich is a big city and there are plenty of bars around. But I truly loved this one. After yesterday — I honestly don’t know if I’ll return. I’d really appreciate a response. Thank you.

9€ for a shot of normal Smirnoff is cheeky even for Munich. Service hardly speaks German and sometimes poor English. Immediately after ordering the drink, the bill is slapped down so that you can pay as quickly as possible, which seems extremely strange in a restaurant that obviously wants to sell itself as upscale.

Actually, it's a cool place. The bouncers are rude and like to take their power out on other customers. If I were the place, I'd think about whether these are the right bouncers for my pub. After all, it's the first impression. Otherwise, everyone's top-notch, bartenders, etc., really friendly, and the music's good.

It's a great bar. The waiters and the bouncer are nice, friendly and respectful. Price is fair. The karaoke is really enjoyable, some people are really amazing while singing. The dj is very friendly too. Also, the bar is not loud, so you easily can speak with friends. I absolutely recommend it.

Regardless of whether you’re Irish looking for a taste of home or anyone else looking for some Irish grub - don’t get food here, it won’t make you sick but it’ll make you wish you hadn’t wasted your money. The drinks, service, and atmosphere are grand but the food just sucks!

We love the pub and its atmosphere, and everyone who works there is amazing, but the prices are insanely high for the quality of food and drinks there. It's too high even judged by Munich standards.

The staff, especially at the door, were incredibly unfriendly and prejudiced. Regardless of whether I got in. The doorman on July 1, 2025 was so disrespectful, not even to guests who wanted to come in, but also to passersby trying to pass through the bar. I've never experienced anything like that in my 22 years in Munich. First time and never again. I can't recommend it at all.

The bouncer was absolutely terrible. He turned us away without us saying anything, claiming it was a private party in an Irish pub. Never going there again! Absolutely disgraceful!

i had so much fun singing karaoke here! they played our requests. there’s a lot of the english speaking crowd in this bar including groups from australia, manchester, scotland and more. people are really friendly and chatty and it’s not like some of the other bars in germany where people keep to themselves. i met two german people here and one american as well. super super fun and i highly recommend this place as the last stop of the night!!

A new favourite place for me. Particular "scholar" atmosphere, with livingroom-like corners. Quite friendly and mostly jolly staff. The Loaded Nachos are highly recommended. Unfortunately not accessible for everyone, because of the long stairs.

If you're looking for an Irish bar, this is perfection.

An international gathering. Many English speakers come here. It's actually a really nice location. But if you clear away half-full beers while smoking... That's just not acceptable. When you complain, you get a "we only speak English" shoved in your face. This turns an otherwise nice meeting place into an unfriendly place with poor service and fussy bouncers. What a shame!

Nice Pub, Good atmosphere and service!

The Guinness is bad. And warm. Actually all of the beer is warm.

I was very disappointed with my visit. I ordered a Coke and paid €5 for it – which is already extremely overpriced. But the worst part was that the Coke was poured straight from a 2-liter bottle into a glass with ice. There was no single can or bottle, no proper presentation – absolutely nothing to justify the price. And as if that wasn't enough, the Coke was flat – completely deflated. The bottle had obviously been sitting open for a while. I find it quite brazen and unprofessional to charge so much for something so ordinary and poorly served. It's not just about the money for me, but about the feeling of not being taken seriously as a customer. I certainly won't be coming back and can't recommend this place under any circumstances.
