Killian's Pub near Marienplatz in Munich is a true gem for Irish pub lovers. The atmosphere is authentic and welcoming, with an impressive selection of beers and whiskeys. Bartender beyond friendly, it was PACKED (it always is) and he always made sure I was taken care of quickly. Vibe is lovely, everyone's having fun. Very true to it's Irish air.

No guards controlling the amount of people inside. It was too crowded, couldn't even reach the bar to order a beer.

I've been coming to this pub regularly for a few months now and always enjoy the relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It's the perfect place to unwind after work or spend a cozy evening with friends. The staff is always attentive and warm, you immediately feel welcome. The selection of drinks is great and the quality is impressive every time. The furnishings are tasteful and contribute to the pleasant atmosphere. A wonderful pub that I can recommend to everyone – always worth a visit!

Simply mega and definitely worth a visit if you are in Munich. We'll come back any time we're in Munich. It is advisable to make a reservation as it gets busy after 8:00 p.m. on the weekend.

The atmosphere is excellent, and the food and beer also meet the standards that this location sets and demands, namely a real sports bar. I don't know why, but you have to wait a long time for service, probably because there are always a lot of guests. You don't have to wait that long to order or have the order delivered, but if I have to pay the bill, there is no way to find someone who can collect the bill. But whatever, I stop by every time I'm in the area.

The live music was awesome. The place was packed and there was a great atmosphere. Drinks very good. We'll be back.

We were initially not allowed into the bar (two men, 35 years old, and a woman, 32), so we couldn't really judge it at first. This was the only place where such a thing happened to us in about 20 countries we've visited. We assumed the bar must have something truly special to be so selective. However, on our second attempt, we were allowed in, and honestly, there was nothing memorable about it. The bar wasn’t even that busy, so we didn’t understand the initial refusal. The service was mediocre at best (long waiting times and clients served before us, despite coming after us) it doesn’t do much to enhance the reputation of Irish bars.

It’s fine for snacks but I’m not a big fan of oily food so personally I’d not choose to have a proper meal here. The service is quite nice and friendly. Perfect place to hang out with a bunch of friends and has the right pub vibes ^^

We have been coming here more and less regularly for years, be it as a couple, with friends or even with our parents. Always a good atmosphere, cozy location and delicious pub food with large portions and also slightly healthier options. The service team is always on their toes, friendly and relaxed, even when it's really busy.

I really like this place—the atmosphere is lively and perfect for Munich pub. The waiters are incredibly friendly and efficient, even during busy times, which is impressive. However, the ventilation is a major issue. On multiple occasions, I had to leave because the air was so stuffy and filled with the smell of sweat that it became hard to breathe. If they fix this, it would make the experience so much better.

Paradoxically, however, the adjacent underground bar, Australian Bar Ned Kelly's, offers virtually the same drinks and food: German and Irish beers and the same dishes. The prices are extremely fair. The staff knows their stuff and you get the impression that they have years of experience here. The service is impeccable, very fast and satisfactory. Great praise also goes to the bands and the karaoke DJs, who have been working with dedication and passion for years to make the atmosphere of the restaurant even more unique. A very cool pub, very nice staff, mostly only had drinks so didn't have cooked food.

VERY BAD HYGIENIC CONDITIONS: THERE WAS A MOUSE INSIDE THE PLACE! I almost never write reviews, but this time I'll make an exception because I've never come across such a situation. I was in this place on New Year's Eve 2025 after a long search for places open until late: you pay €8 for entry without drinks included, once inside we had to argue with the bartender to get some cocktails, terrible music (in less than half an hour some songs were played several times) but above all the hygienic conditions are obscene. I have never found such a dirty place in my life, we saw A MOUSE RUNNING UNDISTURBED BETWEEN THE TABLES... this place should be closed by the authorities, it does not respect any type of hygiene and cleanliness standards. Absolutely avoid it!

It's always a must for me when I'm in Munich. You always meet new, nice people there and there is always something on offer. The employees there are always friendly and the price/performance ratio is also okay considering that it is in the middle of Munich

Awesome location! Always something going on, good food, live music and great service. The only thing that only affects smokers is that there is too much terror on the part of the security troops. After 10 p.m., even if you are standing alone outside, they send you across half the square, away from the bar! That's exaggerated!

The place had a great atmosphere but the food is not that good..I don't think food is the main thing people go there for so I guess it's ok. I also feel it is a dirty place, there was food spilled all over the floor and the table was sticky, the bathroom had no soap so not my favourite place to go. Will I go back? Yes probably. I will pack my dezinfectant wipes just in case there's no soap again

All in all great atmosphere. Negative points: - too old fashioned (some furniture could be renewed without losing the Irish style) - music is sometimes too loud (also loudspeaker with bad quality) - bouncers a bit weird (could be nicer and less arrogant) - we tried the vegan sandwich. This could be definitely improved. Since there are no longer that many Irish pubs in Munich (no O'Reilly's, no Shenanigans, no more Muddy Boot...), Kilians is certainly the most beautiful and authentic remaining pub in Munich. Right in the middle of the city center, the price is totally ok, always nice service, live music, football, etc. It's great that you're still here and hopefully you'll keep going for a long time. I now like to come over with the children after a stroll through the city and everyone feels comfortable, typically Irish.

In karaoke it seems that only the DJ's friends can sing, waiting for hours for our song that never came. The DJ's friends think they own the bar. With disrespectful and even aggressive treatment. Beer is super expensive. A Guinness costs about 7 euros and the supermarket sells a bottle for a euro or something. It is not a reason for importation. A la carte prices have risen exorbitantly in recent years. Of course, inflation is to blame in the end. The increase in prices does not correspond to the real increase in inflation. The waiters and waitresses, however, were very attentive.

We stopped by on 15.12.'24. with a friend. A phenomenal place. The pub is decorated in Irish retro style, with lots of old photos and metal advertisements. There is "live" music on Fridays and Saturdays, and there is also a small library within the pub. The staff are mostly students and everyone is relaxed. We ordered beer, which was excellent, and fries. All recommendations. Whenever and whoever comes to Munich, they should visit this place.

We went there for the kraoke, but it's so undemocratic that if you don't give the WhatsApp number in advance. To register for karaoke you get to the very end, as registrations for the songs are already accepted in the morning :( What a shame

It is a Pub with two environments. One room has a band (rock) and the other DJ plays more Pop rock/pop. The music is spectacular in both environments and the beer is delicious. Negative point is the overcrowding of the bar and the service.

Actually a great pub. I really enjoy coming here because (almost) everything is great. “Almost everything” because the toilets are just awful. The toilets smell like a sewage treatment plant. Toilet paper isn't filled properly and everything to clean isn't working. Really a shame.

Sunday 1st December 2024 1400 Went in for a drink. I was the only one at the bar who needed to be served. SEVEN people behind the bar and not one of them acknowledged me or offered service. After waiting, I walked out. If they don't want my custom then they won't get it.

Very lively, sports bar with 4 screens available for viewing, there was even a Karaoke mic for those that had the inclination at half time, was very enthusiastic and entertaining 😀. Bar staff came around and took your orders to add to the experience. Was not expensive considering all that you had.

Nice place, plenty of drinks selection and prompt service. The food, club sandwich, wasn't great though: a few smaller stacked slices of toast with some stuff in between. But for over 15 euros it's disproportionately little. The small bowl of no longer crispy potato chips that came with it couldn't improve the impression either. Either Making portions smaller, _or_ raising prices is ok these days, but please not both. The goat cheese salad was okay.

The behaviour is really bad we ordered 2 drinks and it cost 13.60 Euro and he took 28.10 and he haven’t give the change and shouting at is and it was really bad😢

Really nice pub for drinks and food. Went back twice for the full Irish breakfast. The nicest fry I've had outside the mother's. I highly recommend the place for anyone looking for an Irish setup. Bar staff also very friendly, especially the Irish chap with the beard and long hair.

Quite the quintessential irish pub. On a saturday night in october it was full of men singing along to a live band, which has to be exactly what such a bar should be like. Lots of space and there's also an australian experience on the premises.

Its a nice solid irish bar. They have two different areas, you can keep switching back and forth. Normally always very crowded. They also have events like Karaoke on Halloween. They also have live music. It is a bit dirty though, so dont expect a nice toilet experience. But expected of a bar like this.

Pub with a lot of flair. Great underground pub with a lot of atmosphere. I sat down and immediately felt comfortable. And the first Guinness also came very quickly. There is also good Augustiner. Great furnishings with lots of pictures, makes being here fun. Had super good fish & chips. The breading was delicately crispy and the fish was juicy. Super nice and quick staff. I would definitely like to come back.

Nice enough place, the bar tender told me I was in the wrong place and he would have to leave because I was sat on a stool while 2 groups were punching each other in the face and screaming at each other.

Friendly staff, fresh cold beer and a typical “pub” atmosphere. Depending on the time and day, it can be very busy, but everything goes very quickly thanks to a well-coordinated team. 1 star deducted for the generally poor condition of the toilets, although this somehow fits with the ambience...
