Molly Malones in München

I first came here 25 years ago, and have been back many times since. Molly's is simply the best Irish pub in town, in terms of atmosphere, people, and food. That's the way it is.

Great atmosphere, impeccable service and the food is authentic...Fish and chips are equal to the best anywhere. Ask for Carolub...real people.

Larger groups (6 people) are not welcome here, even if there is still space. It's okay with smaller groups.

It's actually a very cozy pub, great for watching football, with a fantastic selection of whiskeys, and it's been around forever. The food is okay for a pub, the drinks are tasty, the prices are reasonable, and the clientele is friendly. What's really annoying is that one guy behind the bar/waitress; you feel completely unwelcome, always unfriendly or at least totally uninterested. It's a different story with the other staff, though. It's a real shame, I've been going to Molly Malones for three decades now, why is he always in such a bad mood?

It seems the staff suffers from some kind of "Torte syndrome." Or perhaps they simply insult you if you don't leave a tip, as the service doesn't meet the expected standard.

A lovely, typical pub with a cozy atmosphere. We went there for a Guinness before the concert at Muffatwerk. Lots of people were eating, so I assume it's very good. I really like the great selection of typical pub food. :-) I also thought it was great that MTV 80s was playing on the TV. And the lighting is cozy and not too bright. We'll definitely come back again.

The way guests are treated is absolutely outrageous. Unfortunately, it's even insulting. Insulted in German, as if the guest didn't speak German. A disaster.

It was quite pleasant, only the wait for the food was a little too long. Otherwise everything was okay.

We went here exclusively for the fish and chips and it did not disappoint. The food was great, the Guinness was at the perfect temperature. The place is a bit loud, but the attention and prices were great, highly recommend

Used to be a great pub. Now a terrible restaurant where even though the bar is empty you need a reservation. Wont be coming again!

Visiting Munich during Oktoberfest, this was a fantastic find for a little honest UK drink and food. Drank some pints of Kilkenny (my fav Irish beer) and watched some sports cast in English. Fish and chips are amazing.

If you like it loud and are looking for atmosphere...it's definitely great!

It's a bar where you can get Guinness. It's nice, but it's just a bar. Nothing particularly positive (or negative!) stood out. Maybe we'll come back sometime. I can't say anything about the food.

Great Irish pub with fantastic food and really friendly service. Shirley and Carol are always a pleasure to see behind the bar they make you feel so welcome. Always a good atmosphere here. Perfect spot for a pint and some proper comfort food. Highly recommended!

The chili nachos were incredibly delicious! The dessert with a cookie, banana, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream was amazing! The servers could have been a bit more attentive; sometimes someone in the group wanted to order something, but the server was already gone. The beer was good, the air was a bit stuffy, and the lighting was very dim. It was very loud, you had to shout at each other.

We spent the evening of 31.05 on the occasion of the Champions League final Psg Inter, typical Irish place, very nice, spacious, very kind staff, good and abundant beer and food. A place that I definitely recommend.

The price is very affordable and the service is great

The atmosphere was great and the visitor clientele was pleasant. The toilets are very clean. The tables are challenging for tall people (over 180cm) as the legs have to fit somewhere other than under the table. The service was friendly, but not very helpful. We couldn't be given a recommendation for the beer selection because the waitress doesn't like beer herself, which was a shame and I expected something different in an Irish pub. I can still recommend the pub if you want to sit together and chat.

Everything just fits here. You always meet nice people. Staff always friendly. Food top, drinks top. Sports broadcasts. What more could you want?

I gave it 5 stars for the availability of Guinness and customer-oriented staff. Things are a little worse with food. Shepards Pie was made from store-bought instant mash and store-bought mince. In general, I strongly do not recommend Shepards Pie

We had a wonderful evening! I had made reservations for my birthday with 20 people. Perfect service, good food and of course perfectly poured Guinness 😁. Thank you for the lovely evening! ✌️

Irish Pub the way it meant to be

We always enjoy going here again and again. The fish chips are great (and we know what we're talking about)

We were forbidden to play cards, while at the same time we were allowed to continue playing at one table without the waiter saying anything against it.

Nice place to spent some time with friends

This is a quaint Irish bar in Germany. I found it on the internet and decided to walk over there due to the rating of 4.5 stars on Google. It did not disappoint the fish and ships were excellent, and the Guinness was a few delish.

Delicious fish and chips, the shepards pie was also good. Quaint Irish pub.

There are definitely better pubs in Munich. Unfriendly staff, writes drinks on the lid and doesn't bring them. Unfortunately it had nothing to do with an Irish pub. Really a shame. Absolutely not recommended. The food wasn't particularly good either. The nachos with cheese were an absolute disgrace.

We were looking forward to a lovely evening in this cozy Irish pub to celebrate a friend's birthday - but instead we experienced incredible disrespect from the bartender. As soon as we arrived (we were nine people and arrived shortly before midnight) he greeted us with an annoyed comment. When we pushed two tables together in order to at least sit halfway together, we were rudely pointed out, in the middle of the birthday serenade (!), that this was “not our living room” and that we should pull the tables apart. So the mood was immediately dampened. When the lights came on towards the end of the evening, we were literally thrown out: the bartender immediately came directly to us, impatiently tapped on the table and urged us to “drink our drinks quickly”, while other guests around us were comfortable in his eyes were still allowed to sit in peace. He also started putting up the chairs just around us. When we asked for to-go cups, since two of us still had full glasses, he responded mockingly and said that we could leave the drinks. When we politely asked him about his behavior, he just continued to joke and showed no insight. This bartender is simply unprofessional, disrespectful and a real problem for the pub. After this treatment we definitely won't come back - it was an absolute disappointment for us!

What can I say:)? Loved the fish & chips. The Kilkenny beer was so so good. Great friendly service and felt I was in Dublin.

WAITER INSULTS GUEST – ABSOLUTE WARNING! Yesterday we went to the Irish pub with a friendly group of 6 people to celebrate a birthday. Everything started quite normally, the waiter was rather taciturn and distant from the start, which is what you're used to sometimes. But what happened next defies any notion of customer service and respect! When we wanted to pay at the end, the waiter initially only took a beer mat (on which the orders were written) and brought an initial bill. We politely told him that we all wanted to pay, and he took the rest of the beer mats with him. Unfortunately, I didn't notice that my beer mat and the accompanying beer glass were still on the table. When I pointed this out to him, he literally snatched the beer mat out of my hand and - after briefly disappearing behind the counter - slapped it onto the table without saying a word and impolitely. He simply wrote the bill amount of €30.40 on the beer mat - not a proper bill! The worst was yet to come: Since I understandably didn't give a tip, the waiter escalated completely and called me an "axxxxhole". When I confronted him, he even repeated his insult and called me "slow and stupid." I've never experienced anything like this in my life! Because of his gruff and impolite manner, he couldn't possibly expect me to leave a tip, and at the same time that's no reason to lose all decency. There is no excuse for this incident and I would caution anyone against visiting this actually nice pub. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and reflects a complete lack of respect. Unbelievable!

We always have a nice experience at Molly Malone's. On our last visit my Chicken Stir Fry was excellent! The Fish and Chips are always just right, and for those that love Shepherds Pie, they say this is the place.

Nice pub with sports TVs and a pleasant atmosphere. The service can be unfriendly or even neutral. Still worth it when it comes to finding a nice pub.

Despite a few free spots in the shade, we weren't allowed to sit down at the reserved spots for our Guinness and had to stand. After we said we would go away as soon as the reservation arrived, we were harshly shouted at: “The table is reserved, that's it”. None of the reserved tables were occupied during the entire time. Really pretty far away from customer orientation. We and our large Haidhauser network will avoid this restaurant => word gets around quickly :)

Unfortunately, my visit to Molly Malone's today was extremely disappointing. The service was rude and unprofessional. It seemed like the staff had no interest in ensuring guests had a pleasant time. Definitely not recommended if you value good and friendly service.

If you want a pub/bar to watch football, look no further, this is THE place in Au-Haidhausen, hands down. They have an outstanding atmosphere and a lovely location. The staff is really friendly, efficient, and the one who helped us was native English speaker, which eased the whole experience for my friends who were more self conscious about their German. The pub has a policy that one can only pay with card if the invoice is more than €25, which is a pretty high cutoff, so be prepared. I paid roughly €30 for a few drinks and fish & chips. The food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. They have pies, curry, several types of burgers and of course fish & chips.

Weekend of opening EM2024 and they seemed to be very understaffed. Tables showing "Reserved" for hours when no-one turned up so we had to sit outside and couldn't see the games properly as a group of friends. Quite a stressed atmosphere. Food : chips, shepherd's pie and burgers OK.

Nice staff, although they are a bit picky when it comes to the chairs. I would like a little more flexibility. Because we all consume something and Guinness has become really expensive these days.

Low quality food, too overpriced, the personal is arrogant and not good educated about manners, showing middle fingers, when they didn’t become good tips.

I came with a friend to this pub and to be honest. Everything was overpriced and our waiter, a tanned man, with tattoos and long black hair in a pony tail, argued with us that we gave him a worthless tip and he showed to me and my friend the middle finger. We are hard working students and we didn't like the way we were treated in the end. The Waiter was totally unprofessional in this aspect. I'm not recommending this pub.

Solid pub, really cozy for a few beers. I wouldn't necessarily eat here anymore. The sheperds pie came straight from the microwave. If anything, nachos with chili or a sandwich. Typical bar food to share. What also annoyed me is that the menu says pint (in GB 0.568l), but only 0.5l comes. I know it's a bit German, but still. Edit: I have to say something about the service here. You always wait a little longer anyway. However, when it comes to the tone of some employees, you can only say that you can't treat guests like that. People yell at you, drinks always take forever and regulars are often given preferential treatment. Unfortunately not anymore

So this is a really cool Irish pub but apparently the chef is from Hong Kong and as a special they had chicken fried rice and oh my God it’s the best fried rice I’ve ever had. He actually includes red peppers and zucchini and corn and carrots and it is so delicious. My husband had the curry with chicken, but his favorite was the fish and chips. Also, of course their drinks are great. Our server, Shirley was amazing and we would highly recommend going when she is working.

We have been going here for over 15 years to play cards four times a year. Best fish and chips Town. For the first time ever they would not allow us to play cards anymore. Waitress and owner, were very rude about this got emotional. We left to find another place in town and will never return

Had a decent time. The service was a bit slow but we wouldn't blame the staff as I thought they were a bit outnumbered by the guests on a Sunday football evening. The ambience for watching football is great. The fish and chips was fine and the dessert too.

Very friendly staff, live sport, large selection of drinks, good food and also Irish dishes in addition to fish'n'chips, chicken burgers, salad etc. There could be more tables, lots of places at the bar where you can also eat.
