I had a fantastic experience at Heidelberger Schnitzelhaus! The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The food was absolutely amazing — every dish we tried was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. You can tell the chef puts genuine care into every plate; such a humble and decent person too, which added a special touch to the whole experience. Also, a big shout-out to the lovely girl at the reception — she was incredibly warm and friendly, making sure everything ran smoothly from the moment we walked in. Definitely one of the highlights of my visit to Heidelberg. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic, delicious food in a charming setting

Very tasty food. Service was very nice, friendly and competent. The chef came to us especially to flambé the delicious Kaiserschmarrn. So, we can only recommend it and of course we will always come back.

A gem in Heidelberg. A must try for schnitzel lovers. The service was top notch and the food was so flavorful. Portion sizes are very large and they also give you some fries and a small bowl of salad. The chef and service staff were also very considerate of my lactose intolerance and prepared my food accordingly.

There were 12 of us there, and we were able to order and get our food very quickly. We were informed in advance about the smaller menu (so everything would arrive at the same time), and the selection was still great! Everyone enjoyed their food, and we were completely full. The server was super nice and funny, and we had a lovely evening. We'll be back!

The food was pretty good. True to its name, the restaurant has the largest choice of Schnitzels ever. The portion sizes are huge, and is very filling. The servers are also super sweet.

Rustic restaurant with a huge selection of schnitzels. It would be difficult for us to decide. I finally decided on a Röhner Bauernschnitzel. It was super tasty and a decent portion. All schnitzel variants are also available with turkey or as a vegetarian version. We will definitely come back and try and continue through the menu. The service was also very friendly.

The staff was very nice and accommodating, very cozy, and the food was very good. The meat was tender and without adhesions, the spaetzle was homemade and the food was prepared very quickly. Absolutely justified in terms of price.

Small, cozy restaurant with a huge selection of schnitzels. We went to the Schnitzelhaus for the first time today. We were served very friendly and got our food quickly. First came a small colorful salad. It was fresh, tasty and with homemade dressing. Afterwards there was a bowl of fries for everyone and immediately afterwards the schnitzels. The schnitzels were perfectly prepared. We really enjoyed it there and would love to come back.

Schnitzel selection was really huge, our 3 schnitzels were nice and crispy on the outside and to the point and nice and juicy on the inside. Side dishes salad were really great and fries weren't contaminated with oil either. In the kitchen you could hear the cook making the schnitzels, but I couldn't understand the comments about frozen goods from the cafeteria. Only 1 toilet each for men and women! The boss was also on site and asked us whether everything was/was okay. All in all a good experience... Greetings from Mainz

Visited in June. Choose from over 100 types of schnitzel. Well, it will become a standard. Potatoes included. The portion size is large for one person. Beer is 3 euros. Affordable. The staff is kind and it is recommended for Japanese people who cannot speak German.

It was there and it was highly praised to me. Unfortunately, complete disappointment. Hugo didn't exist. There was no Aperol. There was no wine spritzer, only for the price of normal wine. I have to watch Cola Zero. We ended up having a beer, it was easiest. The service tried to be friendly but felt overwhelmed with little things and 3 tables. Food was ok, the canned mushrooms weren't nice. We're in 2025 and I didn't even know this was still available in restaurants today. Sad. All in all, not a successful evening, unfortunately.

The largest selection of schnitzels I've ever seen! You can choose the toppings you want and then get a huge portion that will keep you full all day! I had a schnitzel with gratinated cheese, which was just great. We ordered another bowl of fries for the 3 of us. I can really recommend this restaurant, especially in summer when you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view of Heidelberg's old town. The price is okay for what you get and the service is attentive.

We ordered schnitzel Viennese style and overall we are very satisfied. However, the restaurant was a bit cold and the schnitzel could have been a bit crispier. A little tip: it's better to reserve in advance.

Huge selection of schnitzels. Portions were very large and there was absolutely no saving. I'm not a schnitzel expert, but the schnitzels were nice and crispy and tasted very good, especially the “Osterburkener Schnitzel” was great. However, the best part was the staff and (I assume) the owner. Rarely have I met such friendly staff!

I've eaten schnitzel many times in Germany, but this is by far the best, with a unique and delicious sauce. The man at the store was very kind and cheerful, and greeted me in Japanese. I brought my two small children with me, and they were happy to let me share the food with them. This is a restaurant I would like to visit again.

Reserve a table! It's rather small and cozy. The schnitzels are super tasty and the different sauces are delicious. Unfortunately only fries but after two schnitzels you don't need many fries. The waitress was super nice but unfortunately alone with everyone.

Quaint/old restaurant. Anyone who thinks that it is a German restaurant is out of place. Indian kitchen crew and a very annoyed Russian/Ukrainian waitress who is always on the phone. I was sitting against the wall towards the kitchen and saw the full trash cans. The schnitzel was good, but with canned or jarred champions. Otherwise it would have been really good, saving at the wrong end. Portions were absolutely sufficient and the fries were delicious too.

There is an English menu The prices seemed to have changed, and the English menu was the old price, so I was told to check the German menu for the price. There was a volume We also accept card payments! When I tried the Heidelberg sauce, I was happy to hear that it was a good choice! ️ It was a sauce with lots of mushrooms 😊

Went there for the first time a few weeks ago with some friends. Despite the Christmas market and a lot of people and despite not having a reservation, we managed to get a good spot for the four of us. The food was very good! I had a cream schnitzel with spaetzle, the sauce was excellent and not as bland as you often get wrong, but really tasty. The spaetzle was cooked to perfection, still had a bite but wasn't dry. The schnitzel was great! Well baked and a decent portion for 4 strong guys like us. The service was very friendly. The rustic traditional ambience rounds off an excellent visit! Plus the price is sensational! We'll be back.

Authentic and it does what it says on the tin. Schnitzel in many variations. The food was good, but there were a few little things that could be improved on the side dishes, salad and side dishes, e.g. All of the plates had a lot of cracks and chipped spots. Prices are at the central level of HD.

The service that impressed me for the first time abroad I visited around 6pm on a Saturday evening. They apologized because the store was full, so I asked if I could wait outside. They apologized and told me I would have to wait at least an hour. Out of frustration, I was looking for another restaurant on Google Maps outside the store when a person came out and told me to wait inside since it was cold outside, saying that a table would be available soon, and guided me inside the store. Actually, the taste of the schnitzel was average and the French fries were a bit tasty, but I would like to say that I am very thankful for receiving this kind of service 🥹

The host is a cool guy! After we unfortunately had to leave without having accomplished anything on the first evening because we hadn't made a reservation and the place was completely full, we booked a table straight away for the next day. We met the host in front of the hotel and he spoke to us directly and knew who we were. Even though we've never met in our lives :-D. About the food: Very good portions to fill you up. 2 beautifully fried schnitzels and plenty of fries. Personally, the (hunter's) sauce was a little bland for me (but everyone can control that with salt and pepper) and the cream was a bit lacking. Unfortunately, canned mushrooms were also used. However, the taste was still very, very good! Don't misunderstand. Personally, I would even pay 2-3 more for a nice, thick cream sauce with fresh mushrooms. We'll definitely be back until we've tried all the schnitzel variations, which will probably take decades ;-).

Super rustic schnitzel house with more than 100 (!) different schnitzel dishes to choose from and just a few meters away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist crowds. A 2-minute walk from the Old Bridge, directly on the Neckar, and a 3-minute walk from parking garage 13 at the Kornmarkt, we were given an extremely friendly welcome as spontaneous visitors with 6 people and a dog without a reservation and were given a very nice place. It would have been better if we had called ahead! The small schnitzel menu that we received because of our unplanned appearance still includes around 30 different schnitzel dishes. The portions are large and the fries, which were not served in portions but for the whole table, are great. I can highly recommend the Schnitzelhaus Alte Münz for a comfortable stay.

I love eating schnitzel here. Unfortunately, I'm not brave enough for everyone. All the schnitzels that I or my companions had (I always tried them) were always very tasty. There is a large and unusual selection of schnitzels. When I'm nearby, I always come here.

Here 1 star is still too much!!!!! As others have already described, the chef is really underground... Naughty, dirty and sitting in front of the door smoking and spitting around... YUCK We spent an extra 3 hours in Heidelberg to eat in this restaurant, my son is a huge schnitzel fan. But at 4 p.m. they said they wouldn't open until later... Well...I lost my appetite anyway...with the chef

The restaurant space was small and cozy. The front desk staff was nice and approachable. However, the chef was quite the showman, as he literally said "beschwert" to us when we entered with a pram while our child was sleeping at 6 p.m. (we had no option to fold the pram) and gave us the side-eye as we entered. He still continued to look at us with a ridiculous expression as we sat. Had we not booked the table, we would not have spent our time there.

Very cozy, but also rustic restaurant that scores points especially with the endless number of different schnitzel variants. All are tasty and well prepared. The reservation went well and everything went quickly. The staff is mostly friendly and nice, there is still room for improvement. But the prices are fair and reasonable. Apart from the grumpy cook, who obviously sees his job as smoking and making fools of the guests at the entrance, everything was great. The staff and the owner were very friendly. The schnitzel tasted good. Only the chef should perhaps spend his smoking break somewhere else. It would also be great if he didn't yell at the waitress in front of the guests.

The two of us were there spontaneously on a Friday evening and we were able to get a seat despite the restaurant being very full. The boss is extremely hospitable and accommodating, sat down with us, made friendly small talk and gave further tips for the city. The selection of schnitzels is very large and very tasty! We were very full!

I really like this restaurant. A new owner has been operating there for some time and has a motivated team. The food is always delicious, the menu is always the same or has changed little. It's all about schnitzel! and that's a good thing! The terrace in summer is beautifully located by the river, the old town is not far. keep it up!

The Jägerschnitzel was made with bad canned mushrooms that didn't taste like anything, and the cream sauce had no visible trace of cream. Pretty low quality ingredients and still a very high price. The typical Heidelberg tourist trap. But the service was surprisingly good.

With a great view of the Neckar, you have a selection of more than 100 types of schnitzel, something I've never seen before. The schnitzels are served with side dishes and salad. There are also very exotic variants. If you are in Heidelberg and like schnitzel, you should stop by here. The taste was great and the service was very friendly.

We were there on a Saturday evening without a reservation (they said on the phone beforehand that everything was reserved) and still got a table very quickly. The selection is huge and there is everything from classics to exotic schnitzels. The food was served quickly and was very tasty. We were also more than satisfied with the service, as they were very friendly and courteous the whole time and also made sure that everything was in order. All in all, we will definitely come back because the price-performance ratio was right for us.

Only drinking is not allowed!!!! We were sent off because we didn't want to eat anything but just something to drink. The reasoning was: they need the seats for dining customers. The joke: all seats were free. Conclusion: bad gastronomy, never again.

The selection of schnitzel dishes is very extensive. We had a really delicious meal. Everything was well seasoned and the portions were plentiful. The young waitress was very friendly. The only point of criticism... The tables outside are really disgusting. Worn with black mold spots. Tablecloths would be useful and more hygienic. For the prices, as a guest I expect a well-kept ambience.

Wow! In 1 woord geweldig, voor een super schnitzel keuze uit 101 soorten, worden direct met de hand gemaakt, je kunt door een luikje in de keuken kijken! Ik ben van mening als je iedere dag zou eten je geen enkele dag dezelfde smaak hebt! Zo gastvrij, heerlijk bier en echt een hoofdgerecht is meer dan voldoende! Als je naar Heidelberg gaat moet je beslist hier gaan eten!
