I visited alone, but the staff member kindly explained the menu and their recommendations to me, which I appreciated. I was shocked to see that the large beer came in a mug, which is different from Japan. The sausages were delicious, and the restaurant matched the charming atmosphere of the town, so I really enjoyed it.

Picturesque place with tasty food and very quick service

My daughter ate at this restaurant with her friends and I was very surprised by what she told me when she got home. The portion of beef she ordered was less than half that of a similar traditional German restaurant, so my daughter politely asked the red-haired waitress if the portion was normal, and she was very rude and replied that it was because they were of good quality. That's not the point. The point is that the red-haired waitress was extremely rude the entire time. The most ridiculous thing is that she expected a tip when paying the bill. Although we usually tip at least 10% when dining out, unfortunately, she doesn't deserve it. Also, out of curiosity, I looked through the Google reviews and found that there seemed to be rude attitudes all the time. Tonight, the table next to my daughter was a family of tourists from China, and the waitress was very rude to them. I hope fellow compatriots who see this comment can avoid lightning.

A quaint inn in the middle of Heidelberg. Super friendly and professional hosts. Palatinate Saumagen and the cabbage roulade are simply great. If you like German food, this is the place for you.

Not recommended! The food was delicious and you didn't have to wait long. My wife ordered goulash. The portion wasn't even a child's portion. There was tons of sauce, but only three/four tiny chunks of meat. When we politely asked the red-haired waitress whether it was normal for meat to be used so sparingly, she replied very cheekily and rudely that beef is more expensive than pork and that it is therefore appropriate. However, the amount of pork in my hunter's roast was so large that this comparison was obviously absurd. What was particularly outrageous, however, was that the goulash was even more expensive than the monstrous Jägerbraten. The rest of the evening the waitress was rude and didn't say thank you or say goodbye. Finally we were happy to finally leave. She treated other guests, especially tourists, just as badly and sometimes treated them as if they were stupid. In summary: it was tasty, portions were either too big or too small and the service managed to drive away customers. Unless your situation improves, you will unfortunately not be able to visit again!

The meat has a strange smell. Also, I think I'm not good at calculating money. Give less change. It was the worst thing of my life. This was my first time eating at a restaurant in Germany, and I was very disappointed with the waiter's response. The beer was delicious.

The beer was really tasty and the service was friendly. The food, however, was rather modest. The pork steak was hidden under a slimy sauce and out of sight. Schnitzel completely tasteless. Overall, the venison goulash looked very unappetizing. We had a lot of fat and even bones on the plate. The prices, however, are juicy. The toilet smelled like an underpass in the big city and was in a dilapidated state.

The woman was friendly even though she was busy. The food is pretty good. I ate it comfortably and enjoyed it.

Pedimos cerveza, schnitzel y salchichas y estábamos muy satisfechos con la comida y el ambiente local del lugar. El personal de camareros era muy amable y hizo la experiencia aún más agradable ya que se comprometieron con nosotros a través de nuestra comida. El costo era muy razonable y nos dio una buena introducción a nuestra primera visita a Heidelberg.

Had a bad experience. There is discrimination and racism here! --- Ladies and Gentlemen First of all, I would like to apologize if my comment caused any inconvenience or distress. Although my words may sound harsh, they reflect our actual experiences. In order to clarify the reasons for my assessment, I would like to describe the situation in detail. A few days ago, on a cold evening, my parents, husband, one-year-old child and I visited your restaurant to ask if there were any seats available. While my parents waited outside in the cold, we entered the restaurant with our child to quickly ask. At this point, a member of staff quickly approached us and in a sharp tone asked us to close the door immediately. We explained that there were still people waiting outside so the door was left open, but the employee's reaction continued to be unfriendly. Still, we politely asked if there were spaces for four adults and a toddler as we were hungry and it was cold. The employee said there was space, but added with a mocking tone, "We have enough space not only for children, but also for dogs." This remark sparked laughter from the surrounding guests. I didn't really hear the comment at first, but my husband was visibly upset. We then brought my parents in while I was already feeling unwell. Throughout the entire situation, the employee behaved disrespectfully towards us while also joking with other guests. He eventually led us through a busy area and a long hallway into a completely empty room. This room had at least five or six tables, but we were seated in a dark, uncomfortable spot in the corner. The employee then suddenly told us that there were no children's chairs available - information that he could have given us right at the beginning. When we asked if we could move to a larger table nearby, the employee loudly refused, stating that this was an eight-person table. However, this table was neither reserved nor was the room occupied. Given these circumstances, my husband finally decided to leave the restaurant after briefly scanning the menu. If you think my comment is an accusation, I am willing to take it back. However, this experience was extremely disappointing and unacceptable for us. We just wanted something to drink and sat at the counter. Were also served quickly. Then unfortunately there was a shift change and with it also a shift with the waitress. Four young ladies didn't think it was necessary to ask us for 25 minutes if we would like something to drink even though we were sitting right at the counter and they obviously didn't have much to do. We paid and left.

Nice restaurant, small and clocky. It's a bit cold (temperature wise), but the service is good, friendly and courteous employees. The food is mixed, the goose leg with red cabbage and dumplings was great, the roast pork was dry and not seasoned. Unfortunately the sauerkraut wasn't really tasty either... The price is okay, if the food were better it would be good value for money for me. In any case, please heat more in winter in the future!

The Löwenbräu in Heidelberg was very happy to welcome us with our little Münsterländer (dog) and provided water. We received very friendly and courteous service from the waitress. The choice of food was a wonderful Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes, which tasted very good. The only thing I can't understand is the rebooking fee for inserts of €0.50 in such a great hotel. Gladly again!

We were in Heidelberg for work and decided to try this restaurant with colleagues. We had booked a table for 10 people in advance, but the restaurant could accommodate more. It was a Monday evening and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant. Everyone really enjoyed the food and beer. We ordered sausages, schnitzel, mulled wine and beer. Everything was fresh, tasty and prepared fairly quickly. I especially liked the quality and taste of the dishes. The only disappointment is that the kitchen closes at 9pm. This was not stated anywhere, and some of our colleagues who joined us later were left hungry and had to look for another place for dinner. Overall, the restaurant left a positive impression due to the quality of food and drinks, but it is worth considering the early closing of the kitchen if you are planning a visit.

Halfway between a restaurant and a German beer hall. Whoever serves us at the tables is very kind and courteous. The food isn't the best. My cordonbleu was a fried mass with no flavour. The beer is excellent.

The German pork trotters are charred on the outside and tender on the inside, and the meat is juicy, unlike some restaurants that have a meaty smell inside. The grilled pork chop and sausage platter is also authentic.

Don't ever go there. Very unfriendly. He said the kitchen was closing and there was a lot of leftover food, but he took it all and sold two more beers. When I complained, he got angry and threw money at me, telling me to leave because it wasn't his fault and he would just return the money. The food is trash and the staff are trash.

Perfect destination during Germany trip. Beautifull view, stunning castle. I had the pleasure of enjoying a delightful time with new friends from Korea, sharing laughs over a cold beer. We even snapped a cute photo together that felt straight out of a Korean drama!

We have been regular customers since 2018 and go to Löwenbräu regularly. The food is very good, the portions are perfect and all the employees are very friendly and it's always nice to see each other again. The location is perfect, in the middle of the pedestrian zone, in summer you can sit outside. We can recommend everyone to eat there!

We were there for the first time. The atmosphere is very clocky and old but you feel really good and at ease there. A beautiful old inn but in a positive sense. The food was great and delicious. The service staff are great and friendly to the guests. Price performance is right for the portions and size. Will eat there again when we are in Heidelberg.

We walked in to a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Service was great and the beer on tap and waiting (they also have gin and tonic). Menu selection left you wanting more. Traditional dishes served in a relaxed delicious manner. Prices are reasonable and good value for money and wonderful for your stomach 😊 Definitely worth the visit.

The food portions are large. Normal German cuisine. You can eat it. Nothing special. The drink prices are overpriced.

The food is good but the menu was in German and we ordered without knowing very well. What was our surprise when the waiter corrected me in perfect Spanish that he did not eat the casing of the sausage. We would have been grateful if, upon detecting that we were Spanish, he had helped us order from the beginning and given suggestions, so my husband wouldn't have drunk a beer with lemon.

The Löwenbrau has a rustic atmosphere. The service is super friendly and responds to special requests. The food is incredibly tasty. The price-performance ratio is good.

Atmosphere nice and rustic, service great but food... I had knuckle, first 2cm dry which tells me the part was old and warmed up, all the sauces seemed to be ready made sauces, the mashed potatoes too. The other dishes were similar. But after 10 hours on our feet, we were hungry.

Friendly service and good location.

You can eat while listening to the sound of the bell. I visited in August, and there were a lot of bees all over the city, so if you don't like insects, you might want to stay indoors. The food was great.

The furnishings are rustic, but quite appropriate. On the menu there are many local specialties, home-style cooking. We chose the salad plate with egg, ham and cheese and the paprika schnitzel. The salad was crispy, fresh, with many different ingredients and had a wonderful dressing (when we asked, we learned that it was homemade). The paprika schnitzel (good quality meat) with fries was in a fruity-spicy sauce with peppers and onion pieces, very tasty! The fries are also crispy, on point. Despite the restaurant being full (Sunday evening), there was little waiting time. The young woman who served us was very friendly and quick (despite a long day at work) - big praise for her at this point! We are happy to recommend Löwenbräu!

Minus 1 star! On August 24th, 2024, we spontaneously stood in front of the door at 9:30 p.m. with 6 women, all wearing the same T-shirt, and wanted something to drink. We were dismissed with the words: “We generally don’t take stag parties”. Seriously? We are thrilled with Heidelberg and all the people in service, but we are actually even more shocked by this reaction. Not only were we put in an embarrassing situation in front of all the guests, we were neither drunk nor loud and, above all, we were NOT a bachelor party! People are honestly being dismissed here, seriously? We wanted to book for dinner the following day, but that was done. Embarrassing for such a restaurant!

We had champignon cream soup, rostbratwurste and schweishaxe with Lowen Pils. In the end apple strudel. Everything good for average prices.

We entered accidentally to have lunch there but it turned out to have one the best foods in Heidelberg, I had the schnitzel with cream sauce and it was just PERFECT. The meat was well seasoned from within and the crust was crunchy and well fried. Their house beer was also delicious and went well with the food. Overall, highly recommend ☺️☺️

We were in this restaurant in the outer region for my 60th on Monday August 19th. The gentleman who served was courteous and friendly. Drinks and food were prepared quickly. Lovely to sit outside to people watch. Prompt and attentive service, but just lacking the real authentic German feel. Had the pork shoulder and dumpling in beer gravy which was a couple of tender slices in a bland ish thickened sauce. Cabbage was lovely and fresh tasting though. Husband had cordon blue schnitzel croquettes which he presumed was all In the croquettes but the schnitzel was seperate and very nice, and served with frozen pre made tasteless rubbish and that was it We just felt rather disappointed overall
