We sat outside. The atmosphere was pleasant. I recommend checking out the restaurant's interior; it's very interesting for tourists.

Overall good, smaller place than I expected, unless I missed it this is not a big Bierhalle with Biergarten. They have reasonably priced food options, unlike some of the nearby restaurants.

We spontaneously decided to have lunch. The Löwenbräu, located in the pedestrian zone in Heidelberg's old town, was a very pleasant surprise. A very friendly waitress found us a table despite the restaurant being full and without a reservation. The food—I had a cabbage roll, my wife had herring made in the traditional way—was of excellent quality and taste. The service was always very attentive. This certainly won't be our last visit to Löwenbräu.

-We got the last free table in the crowded cozy restaurant. -Many dishes to choose from with the given beer. -But the hunter schnitzel had the advantage that the fine breading was not completely covered by the mushroom sauce. -Dessert completely without comment because it was really good

Lumberjack steak was swimming in broth. Pumpkin cream soup was anything but creamy. Schnitzel was okay.

So, unfortunately, I can't really give this place a good review. The service was incredibly unfriendly and snippy. The food wasn't even close to being good, and to top it all off, they made fun of me when I pointed out that even a simple soup wasn't great. When you can't even avoid adding salt and it feels like it's just lip balm in liquid form, maybe you should accept criticism. It's really awful, unfortunately 😕

Apart from the drinks, there's nothing positive. The staff is extremely unfriendly. The food is borderline mediocre and expensive. Any comments about the food are met with ridicule. Definitely not recommended!

It's okay for a nice beer. But the food from everyone in the group was absolutely terrible. The roast pork was bone dry and tough. It only came with a spoonful of sauce, so you couldn't even dip the dumplings. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't match up. Go there and have a beer. For the food, I recommend you go somewhere else.

The time between ordering and the food being served was very, very long. Unfortunately, the food was a bit bland. The Maultaschen (unfortunately not homemade) had raw onions, the goulash sauce tasted very monotonous, and the schnitzel was very dry. We weren't particularly satisfied with the value for money. The only positive thing was the refilling of our dog's water.

Horrible experience with the service. Waiter, who met us outside was extremely unfriendly, mean and unprofessional. We were 4 adults with one 3 year old child and a waiter made it a huge problem to accommodate us to the table telling that we can't sit outside and can sit at all. Instead of finding a solution he was loud and impolite arguing with us. I hope his manger pays attention to the manner and style of accommodating their clients.

6 Nuremberg sausages with not even homemade mashed potatoes and sauerkraut from a can, and charging over €15 for them. The women's restrooms are far from clean.

We ate there in a lovely summery atmosphere in Heidelberg's old town. It was a quaint restaurant with delicious food. We had the cheese spaetzle, cordon bleu, and hunter's schnitzel, all very tasty and with generous portions. We'll go there again when we're back in town.

They have gluten-free food, which is already a lot in Germany, and they don't understand anything about the gluten issue.

We ate there with three people. Currywurst fries: Just a bratwurst with Hela ketchup. The white sausages were okay, just a bit small. The beer wasn't exactly cold, unfortunately. Overall, not recommended for the price; the Italian restaurant a bit further along is a better choice.

We don't understand the reviews. There were two of us at lunch, and the food was below average. The prices, however, were above average. I had Jägerschnitzel from the daily special, and my better half had bratwurst with cabbage and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes tasted of nothing and didn't look like mashed potatoes. Yellow and crumbly. I have no idea what was mixed together. They weren't potatoes. It wasn't really warm either. My steak was cooked, lacking any roasted flavors, and the seasoning was bland. The sauce, on the other hand, was greasy and creamy, and the mushrooms tasted weird. What really spoiled the experience for me, however, was that the plates weren't really clean. There was a greasy shine around the edges, and they felt greasy and crumbly on the underside as well. I can't explain this by normal handling of the plates, but only by the fact that they weren't washed properly. That happens all the time in beer gardens, but it shouldn't happen in a restaurant. We didn't finish our meal and won't go there again. Disappointing.

Good selection of traditional Bavarian dishes. Good value, attentive and fast service. If you're eating for drinks, choose between medium and large portions, such as 0.5 or 1 liter beer. The small 0.3 liter is only available at the bar.

The food was plentiful, but nothing was white-flavored, at least not in the lower price range. Our group ordered goulash for €20, currywurst for €14, and white sausage for €12. The portions were small, and the goulash was tasty, but the currywurst and white sausage left a lot to be desired. At an inn that calls itself Löwenbräu, you also expect decent, cold beer, but this was also unsatisfactory.

The mashed potatoes were orange. They tasted purely artificial. The sauerkraut was probably only lukewarm from a can. The bratwurst was lukewarm. I complained, the food was heated on the plate (with mustard) in the microwave. I was able to eat the sauerkraut (since it had no spices or fat), and it didn't upset my stomach. I've never been served anything like it in a restaurant before. Sad!!!

We looked at Google points and reviews but were very disappointed. My meal was too salty, the schnitzel and zucchini were really mediocre, the hamburgers were not great, the meatloaf potatoes were too salty, not a good experience.

A typical brewery – delicious, fresh beer on tap – a very friendly service team – there were six of us inside at lunchtime, and all the food was served quickly. Everyone was satisfied, except for my knuckle of pork, which was a bit too dry, but that's a very high level of criticism. We'd be happy to return!

When you visit Germany, you absolutely must indulge in meat and beer! Biting into a roasted pork knuckle will instantly give you a taste of authentic German cuisine! Grilled over charcoal, the knuckle is golden and crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. Every bite is truly satisfying. Paired with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, and topped with gravy or beer sauce, it's truly a must-try dish!

Traditional German food done well. Staff was accommodating for a group of 9 people. Waitress was attentive without being overbearing. Bathrooms are clean.

Löwenbräu is a charming German pub and restaurant in Heidelberg that's worth a visit. The cozy interior feels like a step back in time, and as you'd expect from a Löwenbräu outlet. We shared the Wurstsalat (sausage salad) and Kohlrouladen (cabbage rolls), which were prepared in the traditional South German style. The Wurstsalat was great, but the Kohlrouladen was just okay - my partner noted the difference in preparation style from his native North Germany, where the cabbage rolls are typically fried before stewing to retain some crunch.

The service is quick and efficient. The food is okay, but nothing more. There are plastic flowers on the tables inside. Not so great.

Food was great and tasty, however, the plus size waitress (Lino) was very rude, in a bad mood and unbelievably unkind, it's a shame since the food was awesome but i wouldn't recommend going because of the service. We won't be coming here again.

Elderly woman waitress didn't let us move out from table inside after meal, to table outside for drinks and cigarettes. Later she was confronted by her collegue who served us, and she was even more rude (thinking we don't speak german). I'd recommend to avoid the place due to MAD inhospitality. Food was alright tho..

The best pork chop I’ve had in Germany. Service was fast and alright but not warm. I had to sit at the bar as they told me it’s Friday night and all places are reserved but I did see an empty table the whole time I was there. Overall a good place for dinner.

Bah, average food, a somewhat dry and reheated pork knuckle. The pork knuckle was meant to be shared, and it's the first time I've been charged €1.50 for bringing me an empty plate. Beer, well, we all know it's not served as cold here as it is in Spain.

Zunächst einmal der Service ist super freundlich und "Charmant". Die Atmosphäre ist auch sehr schön. Bier ist lecker und das Essen soweit gut zum Beispiel das Holzfällersteak. Die Spareribs auf der Tageskarte waren nicht so der Hit. Das Fleisch wurde im Backofen gebraten bis schwarze teile entstanden und nicht mariniert wurden. Die Knochen lösten sich nicht vom Fleisch und dazu gab es von der Firma Heinz eine Barbecue-Sauce Portion im Plastikschälchen. Die anderen Essen waren gut und die Gäste, soweit zufrieden.

Weighted average between my dish and my partner's, probably my mistake. Not that it was badly made, it's just that in my opinion, sausage, plenty of ketchup and a sprinkling of paprika, cannot be considered a typical German dish, but rather the snack that a child makes at home alone when he comes home from school. For the rest, nice place, attentive service and fair bill. I would go back to try something else.

Sehr teuer, und geschmacklich nicht gut. Hab eine Bratensoße dazu bestellt, und eine komische helle Soße erhalten was nichts mit Bratensoße zu tun hat. Schnitzel war total trocken und hatte kein Geschmack. Wir wollten statt Spätzle auf Kroketten wechseln. Kostet 1,50€! Wir hätten gerne einen extra Teller, kostet 1,50€. Als wir gefragt haben wieso, der Teller muss auch gespült werden. 0,5 L Bier bestellt, und ist nicht mal bis zur markiert gefüllt. Und dafür muss man 6,80€ bezahlen. Geschmacklich war das Bier aber gut. Apfelsaftschorle bestellt, was leider nach was ganz anderem schmeckt hat, aber nicht nach Apfelschorle. Im großen und Ganzen, kein guter Besuch. Mal ein Bier trinken ist ok.

I love breweries, and this one was really nice. You sit in the old town and can watch the hustle and bustle. My meal was really great. I had the roast pork with beer sauce, dumplings, and coleslaw. My boyfriend had the cordon bleu with croquettes. He enjoyed it, but a side salad or vegetables might have been nice. The service was very friendly and attentive. We felt comfortable.

Very expensive and tasteless. I ordered gravy and received a strange light sauce that had no bearing on gravy. The schnitzel was completely dry and had no flavor. We wanted to switch from spaetzle to croquettes. It cost €1.50! We would have liked an extra plate, which cost €1.50. When we asked why, the plate also had to be washed. Ordered 0.5L of beer and it wasn't even filled to the mark. And you have to pay €6.80 for that. The beer tasted good though. Ordered apple juice spritzer, which unfortunately tasted like something completely different, not apple spritzer. All in all, not a good visit. Having a beer once in a while is OK.

Not recommended. The food was convenience food and not well presented. The apple strudel was a convenience product, and the main courses were also probably from the convenience column.

A typical brewery. Dark woods and furniture create a rustic ambiance. I wonder if there will ever be modern brewery rooms with bright, modern, new furniture and seating. Also out of date: no air conditioning. In times of climate change, with increasingly hot and longer summers, adequate air conditioning should finally be addressed. The food was very tasty, with generous portions. The waitresses and staff were excellent.

Strange reviews! With a 4.7, you can usually go out to eat blindly and it'll be good. We were disappointed with the food here. The lentils were completely oversalted and had too much vinegar. The fries and spaetzle weren't salted at all, and there was no salt on the table for seasoning. The schnitzel and fried onions were also clearly below average. The set salad was okay.

Located right on the pedestrian zone, it offers lovely outdoor seating in front of the restaurant. We only had one (delicious) beer here. The women only wanted a small one, but this isn't possible outside because it's only served in 0.5-liter steins. We didn't quite understand the message, but it was still tasty.
