The atmosphere is enchanting, the surroundings are breathtaking, and every detail is thoughtfully designed. I experienced a very special moment during my stay, and both the person I was with and the magical ambiance of the hotel turned it into something truly extraordinary. 🖤 This place will always hold a special place in my heart. Very nice location right on the banks of the Tangier and in the old town. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. Unfortunately, the pool is 150 meters away outside and, in bad weather, can only be accessed with appropriate clothing. The room prices are very high, especially considering the breakfast, and can only be explained by the hotel's location—if you want it.

The room with a view of the Elbe was great, but you can tell it's an old building. Despite that, or perhaps because of that, we felt very comfortable there. The restaurant is top-notch, from the service to the cuisine, and the selection of spirits is simply first-class, and not something you'd find in every hotel. The rest of the hotel staff, including the manager, were just what you'd hope for but rarely find. In any case, we were very satisfied. And we can only recommend this hotel 100%.

A very beautiful place! It's worth a visit. Accommodation is available right in the castle courtyard, with a swimming pool, sauna, restaurant, and much more. The small town center is also worth a stroll. Very nice and, of course, highly recommended.

It is a nice place to spend your holidays

A modern hotel in a historic setting. The hotel sits picturesquely on the castle hill, nestled within the old city walls overlooking the Elbe and Tangier rivers, with views of both rivers and their estuaries. It's family-run, which I personally find much nicer than chain hotels. You don't usually find this level of individuality there. As you can learn from the information boards on site, the old castle complex has a varied history. The owner has tastefully constructed a stylish and modern hotel complex on this historic site, striking an exceptional balance between a historic ambiance and modern hotel operations. The various hotel buildings and the Old Chancellery, which can be booked for events, are surrounded by a beautiful park. Rooms can be booked in various areas: - in the main building, which houses the restaurant with an outdoor terrace - in three garden houses located on the other side of the grounds, directly next to the Kaisertherme (wellness area) near the Chapter Tower - in two other separate areas, which I unfortunately didn't get to see Parking is available directly on the castle grounds and also in the public area along the Weser promenade. Those arriving by train will unfortunately have to be prepared for a 10-minute walk, which, due to the predominantly historic paving, is a real challenge (not to mention survival training) for trolley wheels. The pavements are also quite bumpy. Perhaps the city administration needs to get involved in this. The rooms are very spacious and offer above-average space – even more than required for a 4-star hotel. We had a room in the garden houses; the walk to the main building with its restaurant is not far, and the walk to the spa is very short. When booking, you can choose whether you'd prefer to get to the meal or the spa area more quickly. For those with stair-climbing difficulties, we recommend checking in advance, as some rooms in the garden houses can only be reached by stairs. Seating is available throughout the property. Loungers are also available for guests near the garden houses. Many trees provide shade. Watching two cats, who also seem very content with their accommodations, helps guests relax. The main building has an outdoor terrace, from which the view over the Weser River and a part of Tangermünde is truly magnificent. You can also sit under shady trees right next to the terrace. Those who want to see all of Tangermünde from above can do so from the Chapter Tower, which adjoins the garden houses. Breakfast is available both outside in the main building and inside, with plenty of space around the individual tables. The buffet is extensive. From a large selection of breads and rolls (some of which are home-baked) to fresh fruit, homemade yogurts, and of course, sausage, cheese, muesli, scrambled eggs, bacon, cakes, etc. Although the ambiance and offerings are great in themselves, the most important factor in my rating is the attentive team on site. Everyone here – including the owner – is concerned about the well-being of their guests, always friendly and accommodating. You are greeted with a family-like cheerfulness and warmth that is contagious. Anyone who doesn't catch this is probably a grumpy person anyway. The well-coordinated crew cares about the well-being of every guest, and even the most bizarre requests are fulfilled with a wink. The hotel restaurant deserves a mention. The cuisine is also excellent. There is a special children's menu with coloring pages, which, with a great deal of humor, will even be handed over to an adult along with crayons upon request. In short: I would love to come back and very much hope that the hotel will remain owner-managed for a long time to come.

I always enjoy being a guest in the hotel's wellness area. I like to let Mrs. Neumann accompany me through her pampering day for men. After the various massages and cosmetic treatments, you feel completely relaxed. Mrs. Neumann has golden hands. Afterwards, a cold drink with a view of the Elbe on the terrace, and the day is perfect.

A castle hotel run with great attention to detail and very friendly service. We had the "Bird's Nest" room, perfect for a romantic weekend for two. Although it looks like a shed from the outside, it is beautifully furnished and has its own small terrace with a view of the Elbe. The town of Tangermünde is truly worth a visit. The surrounding area is ideal for cycling.

Unfortunately, there aren't as many stars available as I'd like to give. Where do I begin? The reception is incredibly friendly. You immediately feel welcome. The rooms are beautiful, no matter which one you choose. The spa is so relaxing and tranquil. The restaurant is very cozy, and the food... oh, the food... a dream. I've been here in all kinds of weather, and the view over the Elbe is always breathtakingly beautiful.

I can recommend this hotel without reservation. The warmth of the staff permeates the entire hotel. It's so comforting! The Altmark region is definitely worth a visit and highly recommended.

Very attentive staff, good breakfast, and excellent food. Air conditioning in the room. Quiet location.

Upon first use: The room is dark and dated, with a dark, old carpet. Unfortunately, the room cannot be darkened for the night. So, the only option is to move to the adjoining, ultra-small, but darkened, old-fashioned children's room. I didn't book it, but it's available. The seating area has seen better days and could be described as worn out. The luggage rack is far too small for modern suitcases. This one had to be unfolded on the living room table. The swimming pool is located in another building, so you have to change there. The desk is definitely too small for business travelers. There's a bottle of water on arrival, and it's wonderfully quiet. After the first night, I can say that the beds, while ugly, are equipped with first-class mattresses and pillows. The bathroom is a comfortable size with a shower AND bathtub. The shower has a very reasonable pressure and easy-to-control hot water. The peace and quiet here is fantastic. For the warmer seasons, there's a built-in air conditioning system. Anyone who, like me, likes to sleep cool will appreciate this. If only this room could be darkened so that one could actually sleep there... . . . ;) Second use: Room in the main building with elevator. The shade in front of the window was already drawn in the summer, and the room didn't overheat, despite the 32 degrees outside. I turned on the air conditioning for sleeping. Perfect. The room is pleasantly clean. The pool is rather small; if six people wanted to swim laps, they'd get in each other's way. But I was lucky. Very quiet and beautiful scenery.

The surrounding area and the town of Tangermünde are beautiful. From the warm welcome to check-out, everything was perfect. You can feel the commitment of all the staff to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. The small, cozy Staude apartment, the escort to the parking lot, the friendliness in the restaurant, the excellent breakfast with particularly delicious bread, and Ms. Busse, who keeps an eye on everything—it was simply wonderful.

We stayed at the Schlosshotel while traveling for business. A friendly welcome and a great location. It's a shame the pool isn't open until later, but that doesn't detract from the positive review.

Hello, I'm just going to review the restaurant now. The atmosphere is great; we've been there several times and always enjoyed it to the fullest. This time it was for a small 65th birthday party: I called weeks in advance, reserved a table, and specifically requested that it be set up and decorated accordingly—I would have paid extra for it, too. We arrived: nothing was as agreed over the phone. I asked a member of staff why my wishes hadn't been fulfilled. Her snarky reply: "I've only just started." It was 12:00 noon when the restaurant opened, and I had reserved the table by that time. She placed a few artificial flowers on the table, and that was it. No apologies, no follow-up questions. We're all human and make mistakes, but I found it very unpleasant that day. We chose the restaurant because it was supposed to be something special, and we were a bit disappointed. The wedding soup was too salty, and I had to wait an extra 30 minutes for my main course because I was forgotten. Somehow everything went wrong. What a pity...

Such a beautiful place, I love it. The very best location, in the old town and with a view of the Elbe and the harbor. Nevertheless, it is very quiet at night and in the morning you can only hear the cuckoo. The rooms are quite large and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is fabulous, it has everything and plenty of it. I was particularly enthusiastic about my own creations such as orange poppy seed butter and wild berry basil jam. The staff is young and very nice. For what is offered, it doesn't cost much. The only negative thing is the beer from the large brewery. But there is a solution a few houses away

After my arrival, I walked over humpback stones to the reception desk, several hundred meters away, with my suits over my arms and my heavy suitcase on wheels. If you arrive here with a cheap suitcase, you will probably arrive at the reception without wheels. After checking in, I was told that I had to go all the way back to another house. When you get there, you realize that you have to climb two steep flights of stairs. With luggage. No elevator, no bellman. The room is dark and old-fashioned with dark old carpet. We booked 3 days and were very satisfied. The breakfast was very varied, especially the homemade bread was very tasty. The location is very nice and you can quickly get to the beautiful old town with its interesting little old half-timbered houses. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Being welcomed by Ms. Busse in the morning and asking whether you slept well shows her interest in the guest and their well-being. The mattresses are a bit firm but you get used to it and you can also get a topper if you need it. We felt comfortable and enjoyed our little break from everyday work with a massage and sauna.

The castle hotel with its location, its great rooms, its view, the Kaisertherme, the breakfast and the entire ambience is my place of paradise for me. Under the loving and present management of the lady of the castle, the wonderful service, including breakfast and food, this is a picturesque place in Tangermünde where I often want to stay to unwind and unwind and receive new inspiration. It couldn't be better for me with such a place of power.

My rating? Split in two! The entire area and the hotel complex are fantastic! Great location with romantic views. We also really liked our room. The service was sometimes extremely difficult! We arrived very early to celebrate a birthday in Tangermünde. We didn't really want anything from the hotel other than to register and park our car. Of course, it was clear to us that no room could be ready at eleven in the morning. However, the way we were greeted immediately made us feel guilty for even showing up at the hotel! It's a shame, that was the first impression of the hotel and it really backfired. However, there were also very helpful employees later who went out of their way and the room was ready before 3 p.m., thank you for that! What we thought was a shame, there was no service on the magical terrace, and in the evening there is no hotel bar to end the day. Our conclusion: Although the dinner and breakfast were really good, the room was nice and at least most of the staff were really nice, we couldn't completely pick up the hotel. It's a shame, there's still a lot of room for improvement!

A stay of superlatives! The fascination of the place significantly influenced our hours in the castle hotel. Spending the night on historic terrain with a view of Gothic towers and walls and the breathtaking panorama of the Elbe is in itself a great privilege. If you add to that the highly professional, friendly service in both the hotel and the restaurant as well as in the wellness area and you take into account the spacious, comfortable rooms, then you would like to give it 7 out of 5 stars. Particularly noteworthy is the layout of the entire hotel wing including the outbuildings. Immaculately restored, they fit perfectly into the medieval brick walls and form an extraordinary ensemble. A fairytale world!

A hotel that manages to stand out from the norm in a very positive way.

We were able to spend a wonderful weekend stay here with the family. This facility is run by the owner with a lot of passion, you can see that in all areas - starting with the very nice parking lot attendant :-) The breakfast was terrific, lots of vegetarian and even vegan choices, a lot of it was homemade - really great! There are even places with a view of the water. The dinner was consistently delicious. We particularly liked the red cabbage soup and the nutrient stick parfait. Small point of criticism: We had booked a 4-course menu which was a little too generous in terms of portions for all of us. The rooms in the main building were very cozy and two lovely cats greeted us on the way there. The only thing that needed to be replaced was the mattresses, they felt sagging. We really liked the wellness area, small but impressive, only the toilets were a bit lacking (even if it's probably not possible otherwise in terms of building technology). The massage was nice, only the room could have been warmer and the lounger was unfortunately not heated (heated blanket desirable in the winter months). The next vacation is already booked, we are looking forward to being here again soon and maybe some of our criticism will be taken into account :-)

Very nice hotel with outside facilities, well divided, with a small garden at the back, outside areas are well marked.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The rooms were clean and well equipped. Everything was slowed down and calm. The wellness area and the staff radiated a lot of calm and the massages 💆were very relaxing. The breakfast was very rich and tasty 😋 the dinner was also a very good selection. And for smokers there were ashtrays on every corner, which were regularly taught. The man did not feel discriminated against because he smoked, even though smoking was prohibited on the premises. You could even take a break while eating. There was a "stop" for kissing at the entrance. Which now puts a smile 😏 on my face. We weren't the only ones. We will go there again.

We went on a short trip from November 15th to 17th. visiting one of the outbuildings. Great room! We felt comfortable from the start. From the staff at reception to the service, especially our waiter David. Dinner and breakfast great. On November 16th We attended the “Breast or Keule” event with Feuerzangenbowle. The hotel is in the middle of a beautiful park. It is centrally located so that the old town and the banks of the Elbe are easily accessible. The rooms, like everything in the hotel, are very tastefully furnished with attention to detail. The wellness area is well tempered and invites you to linger. The staff in all areas of the hotel are very helpful, friendly and you feel very welcome. The food in the restaurant is excellent both visually and in terms of taste. A visit to this hotel is worth every euro.

We celebrated a big birthday in the old office. It was a perfect evening both in terms of the quality of the food and the service. The location of the castle hotel is an absolute highlight directly on the Elbe. The breakfast is very good and the staff is absolutely friendly. The wellness offer with pool and sauna is also very nice. There's really nothing to complain about, a great hotel. Highly recommended.

The restaurant was beautiful. The food was very tasty 😋 and the service was very friendly. You can also eat here very well with small children. Everything is available: children's chair, something to paint, cutlery and plates suitable for small children 🍽. The view from the restaurant is also very nice and you can look over the Elbe.

We had dinner on the terrace during a stay in Tangermünde. The ambience is irreparably beautiful. The staff and the food are simply great.

The Schloss-Hotel Tangermünde has style and is very lovingly furnished. The castle has been completely restored and very well maintained. It partly looks like a high-quality film set for an aristocratic court society. The beds are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very rich and leaves nothing to be desired. The car parking spaces are subject to charges. Conclusion: Highly recommended.

I have been a regular guest at the castle hotel for around 15 years now. I come here about once a year. I also travel a lot throughout Europe for work. What I experience here is unique. (Rooms/value for money/location/kitchen/staff friendliness/ Ms. Busse - the good soul of the house) All thumbs up!

All the stars in the world for this beautiful hotel and restaurant. I would like to consider myself a regular at some point. The food is pure enjoyment, first-class attentive, friendly, humorous service, a wonderful outdoor area with pleasantly subtle music in the background, accompanied by the gentle babbling of the fountain. I love everything about this place and will stop there every time my path takes me to Tangermünde (which it will often do, I'll make sure of that :) ). Keep it up! Ps: we particularly recommend the rocket salad with crispy goose liver and the roast beef. A poem!
