Kellerwirtschaft, located in the cellars of Forchheim. The service and food quality were impeccable, the restaurant was comfortably warm (in December), and the beer was nice and cold, just the way you like it.

A group of eleven of us had lunch at the Schindlerkeller on Saturday afternoon. We arrived shortly before noon and received a friendly welcome. The atmosphere was immediately pleasant: rustic, cozy, typically Franconian, and despite it being October, it was nice and warm and inviting inside. The food was truly outstanding. I had a perfectly prepared pan-fried schnitzel – crispy, juicy, and perfectly flavored. The others in our group were also very satisfied. The portions were generous, the quality was consistently very good, and the value for money was absolutely spot on. The desserts at the end were also delicious and rounded off the meal nicely. One small point that stood out: The service could have used a bit more support that day. It was visibly busy, and with one more person on duty, it would have been a bit more relaxed. Nevertheless, the staff were friendly and attentive, which didn't detract from the positive overall impression. All in all, a highly recommended beer cellar with excellent cuisine. We felt at home, ate well, and will definitely return.

It was sooooo delicious. Eating a great shoulder of pork with delicious side dishes was no problem, and the gluten-free side dishes were also known. This makes eating out fun even with celiac disease.

Everything just works here. Super delicious cordon bleu, friendly service in a great atmosphere, and fair prices. Keep it up!

We were in this basement for the first time. My girlfriend's food was good; I had the blue onions. They were tasty, but the onions didn't look like onions anymore; they were dark brown and no longer light. The ambiance wasn't the best either. We sat right in front of the restroom exit, so half of our group had to move because of the smell coming from the restroom. The service got very slow over time. A colleague ordered three beers, but it was forgotten and didn't arrive even after repeated inquiries. We also had to wait more than 20 minutes to pay until someone finally came.

The food was delicious, the beer was okay. But under no circumstances should you turn on the patio heater, even if you're freezing or have asked for permission. That's where the fun ends for the good lady!

This was my second time eating there and I was pleasantly surprised. This time I had a schnitzel with wild mushroom sauce and fries – it was truly delicious! The sauce was beautifully creamy with fresh mushrooms, the schnitzel was crispy and well-seasoned, and the fries were fresh and crispy.

Super delicious beer and Schäufela (pork shoulder). The pan-fried schnitzel is impressive. Great prices. It's a lovely place to sit under the trees and chat with the locals. Service is attentive and friendly.

Very long wait times. One dish was ready after only 1.5 hours. My colleague only got his food long after I'd finished eating. It wasn't the first time. It's a shame, really.

I ordered a mushroom schnitzel with fries. The schnitzel and the sauce were good, and the fries were okay. The atmosphere was nice, but at the end of the day, it was just a beer garden in the forest, and nothing more, and you had to eat with other people. The service was very friendly, but it took about 45 minutes for the food to be ready. But you can definitely go there.

The food at Birgit's Schindlerkeller is truly delicious! I've eaten there a few times now, and I've been incredibly satisfied every time. This is exactly what I imagine cellar food to be like! Unfortunately, I'm losing points because the service, while attentive, was visibly stressed and understaffed. Trying in vain to order a second drink during your meal is a real bummer, and it doesn't help when you can only pay one person.

Excellent service. Very tasty food. Only the mosquitoes were annoying. But that's not the cellar's fault ;-)

Today we had a very good meal with excellent beer and super good food with no additives.

Beautiful beer garden and very friendly and prompt service. We enjoyed the food very much, and the prices were reasonable. Only the urinal was a bit off-putting.

Always great when you want something good to eat. The Schäuferle (pork shoulder) and Cordon Bleu are highly recommended. They'll fill you up quite a bit.

Beautiful beer cellar in the Forchheim Kellerwald

The Kellerplatte was OK. Special request was considered and executed correctly. Price-performance ratio is still okay, €12 here; you can get it for €9-10 in a more rural setting, but that's also okay for the Kellerwald. The bread, however, was unfortunately very dry. And two breaded schnitzels with cheese and ham in between are no Cordon Bleu. The beer was good and cold. What weighs more heavily, unfortunately, is the service. And here, the fish literally stinks from the head. Our actual server was friendly, competent, and attentive. However, the boss's behavior is unacceptable. I can't berate employees in front of customers; that's unprofessional. It's also unprofessional to send an employee ahead because of a booking error, only to then listen as the boss from the side and then ultimately speak up from the side, thus embarrassing the employee instead of taking responsibility. I heard this at the next table. In that time, the service could have been on the other customer. The fact that card payments will still not be possible in 2025 is transparently stated on the menu, but does not demonstrate progressiveness.

We've always enjoyed going there, But unfortunately, I've been disappointed repeatedly over the last few days. Service has deteriorated. One day we unfortunately waited 30 minutes for our waitress to bring our drinks. One day the table was occupied even though we had a reservation. This is the second time the restroom has been simply closed without asking if anyone needs to go. To be honest, Schindler Keller doesn't see me.

When we go to the Kellerwald in Forchheim, we always go to Birgit's Schindlerkeller. Super delicious Franconian food at reasonable prices. Franconian beer 🍺 from the Greif brewery. Beautiful tiered beer garden and green trees. It's also always possible to have a fun chat with the friendly waitresses.

Hearty cellar with a great menu

We came here spontaneously because there is a small but very tasty vegan menu. Price-performance ratio is right here, the drinks are nice and big and not half filled with ice cubes like elsewhere. There is a large parking lot down on the main street with a 5-hour parking space with a parking disc, as well as plenty of parking spaces and even e-bike charging stations directly in front of the beer garden. It has plenty of seats, shade, clean toilets and we were treated very friendly and nice from start to finish. We'll definitely come back here when we're nearby.

We've been waiting for our food for 1.5 hours, tables that arrived long after us got their orders before us. The operator was simply overwhelmed and the tone towards the guests was very harsh. Price-performance ratio absolutely not justified! Not only were we upset, many other guests also expressed their dissatisfaction. No recommendation!

Nice cellar but totally unfriendly boss. If you want to wait a long time for your drink and even longer for your food, then go to this cellar. Even better, if you ask after about an hour of waiting when the food is coming, you'll get a really poor answer (when it's ready). WOW respect! Then you ask the next question... well, how long and the answer... you can also cancel your meal. Please....... So if you want to wait a long time to drink and eat and then get a really strange answer, go to this basement.

Beer is good. Food was okay because the currywurst was quite small, but the fries and fried potatoes were only lukewarm.

After an unfriendly greeting at the cellar and long waiting times to order, a below-average cordon blue with fries and a tasteless spring quark with frozen wedges arrived. The portions are generous, but that doesn't make up for the bad taste. Really a disappointment compared to the other cellars!

I was a guest in Birgit's Schindlerkeller as part of a company event and visited the Forchheimer Kellerwald for the first time. The space on the balcony was simply unique that day when the sun was shining. Many thanks to the friendly service for the hospitality. The food was prepared quickly and tasted great. In my opinion the price/performance ratio is fair. I will gladly come again.

It's a shame that you have to give a star here in order to be able to submit the review, because the cellar actually doesn't deserve one. We were “guests” on the cellar last weekend. Although that's actually the wrong wording, because we weren't treated as "guests" but rather as a nuisance. We had made a reservation for four people by phone the day before and said straight away that we had a stroller with us, so that this could be taken into account when choosing a table. On that evening we came to the cellar and hadn't even really gotten to the table when we were greeted by the waiter with the "nice" statement "I can't use the stroller in the hallway, it has to go." I then pointed out to the waiter that I had specifically pointed out the stroller when making the reservation. Answer: “I don’t care, it didn’t say anything to me.” We then arranged ourselves at the table with the other guests and squeezed the stroller between the table and the railing. When we were about to leave, just after an hour and a half, the boss sat down at the table behind us and the next insolence followed. She started gossiping about us with the guests at the table about how ignorant we were. For safety reasons you have to move a stroller to the side. When we heard this, we explained the situation to her and how the waiter had "welcomed" us. She denied this and claimed that the waiter had never said so, but had just pointed it out to us in a friendly manner. All of this, even though she hadn't even been there herself. She knows how to deal with guests very well. Apparently there is no need to be friendly to guests, because apparently enough people come and leave their money. What wasn't necessarily bad for us was the fact that we had to put the stroller to the side. Even though we could certainly have planned differently here because we said so when we made the reservation. What's bad is the way in which you are treated. Let's see if the boss has already prepared the counter statement to deny everything because I had already announced the corresponding Google review to her when I left the location.

I'm giving my objective opinion here and what I'm writing down here is something I've experienced myself. First of all you have to say, the hostess is more than unfriendly or maybe she just had a bad day. The food we ordered is of poor quality and if you charge €17 for a Schäufele Fast, then it should taste good. The sauce was a disaster. The beer was lukewarm and that of each of us. What particularly struck us was that the glasses were not cleaned particularly well. The beer mugs were already chipped with every new delivery and you can't actually give out something like that anymore so that the guest can cut it. No emphasis is placed on it at all and no attention is paid to the fact that chipped beer, mugs or guests can injure themselves. That's not possible, that's what I see when I pour it. I got the impression that if someone doesn't come anymore, someone else will come and so you can't work up there, apart from the fact that the prices are too high at four. So if I pay high prices, then I also expect quality and there can be no question of that here. It's a shame, but Kellerberg keeps going downhill.

The food was excellent and lots of it. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. Were here on a Sunday evening and even the regulars' table made their place available so that we had space for 8 people. The portions are really generous, I'm not a bad eater but I struggled. In terms of price it was really okay. Price performance fits.

The last time we were at Winterzauber we were just outside at a bar table and only had a schnitzel roll and a beer. But that was also delicious and everyone was super friendly, as always. We are already looking forward to the cellar season.

Pretty Christmas-decorated basement with cellar house suitable as an event location. Christmas stollen and punch were just right. The landlady was very friendly.
