Glockenkeller in Forchheim

Unfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was a bitter disappointment and will remain a very negative memory for us. Despite having made a reservation, our table was abruptly given to someone else. Without explanation, we had to wait until we were finally assigned another seat – one that was significantly worse. The real disaster, however, began with the food. One of the dishes we ordered (a sandwich) was initially forgotten. When we asked, we were told that it would be "coming soon." While everyone else at the table had already eaten, the missing dish didn't arrive until much later. When we criticized this, the response was neither professional nor friendly. Instead of showing understanding, the waitress told us in a rude tone that they wanted "better guests." A statement that is hard to beat in its impudence. The manager's behavior was even more disappointing: Although he was made aware of the incident, he didn't feel the need to contact us. Instead, he pointedly remained seated with a group of regulars – and insisted on talking about us. Conclusion: Disastrous service, disrespectful treatment of guests, and a manager who ignores criticism. We'll never see this restaurant again. Anyone who values ​​hospitality and professional service should look elsewhere.

After we reported this, we were assured that the correct (cold) dish would be served "immediately" – unfortunately, to no avail. Even after another 15 minutes, the food still didn't arrive, while the rest of the table was long finished. The way our justified criticism was handled was particularly disappointing: The first waitress reacted rudely and said that they could only wish for better customers. Only a second server showed some understanding and listened to our feedback. The manager, who was obviously aware of the situation, didn't feel it necessary to contact us or apologize – another sign of the lack of appreciation for guests. Overall, a disappointing experience, one we wouldn't want to repeat.

Unfortunately, the visit was overall very disappointing. There were problems with the reservation right from the start, and a lot of things went wrong as the experience progressed: one dish was brought out incorrectly, the ordered food took a long time to arrive despite repeated requests – in the end, it never arrived at all. The rest of the table had long since finished their meals while we were still waiting. The unprofessional response of the service staff to our feedback was particularly irritating. One server was rude, and only a second member of staff actually listened properly. The fact that management failed to intervene despite obvious dissatisfaction unfortunately reinforced the negative impression. It's a real shame – with a little more attention and customer focus, much more could have been achieved.

When you arrive at Kellerwald, you're initially at a loss as to which "beer garden" you should go to. Many don't want to walk far and visit the first ones. We consulted TripAdvisor! Best Rating: Bell Cellar. You have to walk a long way to get to it, so this rating seemed "deserved" to us. Wrong thought. Service and atmosphere excellent! Hardly any artisanal, warm dishes, lots of “snacks”. Shish kebab pan with fries: Fries very good. The "goulash" without pieces of pepper, little onion, a lot of bacon and a few cubes of meat (complained about, it was refilled!). But the sauce like it comes from a glass bottle. Ketchup-sweet, few flavors, pasty! Cheese plate: plentiful and colorful, but... There was no time for a pickle, some onions or a lettuce leaf as decoration. Bread from the day before. Hot liver sausage with sauerkraut: Sausage delicious, the sauerkraut "as if warmed up straight from the can/bucket. Crunchy like fresh sauerkraut tastes! Unfortunately the worst cuisine during our Franconia vacation, where we never once had any reason to complain. Prices are all fair. But if Schäufele is on the daily table 30 minutes and maybe 20 portions are “out”, was that left over from the previous day? We know our way around the catering industry. What we got here was simply inexpensive, but boring with no quality craftsmanship!

Wenn man am Kellerwald ankommt, ist man erst einmal ratlos, in welchen "Biergarten" man soll. Viele wollen nicht weit laufen und besuchen die Ersten. Wir hatten uns TripAdvisor zu Rate gezogen! Beste Bewertung: Glockenkeller. Man muss zu ihm weit laufen, also erschien uns diese Bewertung "verdient". Falsch gedacht. Service und Atmosphäre ausgezeichnet! Kaum handwerkliche, warme Gerichte, viel "Brotzeit". Schaschlikpfanne mit Pommes: Pommes sehr gut. Der "Gulasch" ohne Paprikastücke, wenig Zwiebel, viel Speck und wenige Fleischwürfel (reklamiert, wurde nachgereicht!). Aber die Soße wie aus der Glasflasche. Ketchupsüß, wenig Aromen, pastös! Käseteller: reichlich und bunt, aber... Für eine Essiggurke, etwas Zwiebeln oder Salatblatt als Deko war keine Zeit. Brot vom Vortag. Heiße Leberwurst mit Sauerkraut: Wurst lecker, das Sauerkraut "wie aufgewärmt direkt aus der Dose/Eimer. Knackig wie eben frisches Sauerkraut schmeckt! Leider die schlechteste Küche während unseres Frankenurlaubs, wo wir nicht ein Mal Grund zur Klage hatten. Preise alle fair. Aber wenn auf der Tagestafel Schäufele nach 30 Minuten und vl. 20 Portionen "aus sind", war das dann Rest vom Vortag? Wir kennen uns aus in der Gastronomie. Was wir hier bekamen, war einfach nur preiswert, aber langweilig ohne handwerklichen Anspruch!

Cozy little basement with solid prices.

We spent the Easter holidays in Forchheim with two couples and stopped at the Glockenkeller twice. Currywurst and shish kebab were delicious and our furry friend was also warmly welcomed. The landlord is very personable and gave us valuable tips on how to plan our stay with many rustic breweries. We will definitely visit the Glockenkeller again in high season. Kind regards from the Rhineland... The beer in iconic mugs is cold and delicious :-)

The Kellerberg is simply always beautiful. A shady spot, a delicious meal or snack, the children can roam around in the forest - perfect. And the Glockenkeller has the world's best Schäuferla.

Super great and above all cozy location! The food was delicious and the prices were absolutely top! Absolute recommendation! We'd love to come back :)!

Wir haben einen am Sonntag den 24.11.2024 Pfefferkarpfen und einen Normalen gegessen, beide waren perfekt gebraten, der Kartoffelsalat u. der Endiviensalat passten dazu, kurzum lecker! Der Ertrag der heutigen Karpfenpartie geht zudem an die Feuerwehr Forchheim, eine gute Sache!

We ate in the Glockenkeller during our company outing. It was very tasty and very cozy in the living room with a fire in the oven. Schäuferla and horseradish meat are a dream. And the bell cellar is always worth a trip to Forchheim. We would definitely like to come back.

The Glockenkeller is the best beer cellar in all of Franconia. There is cold Rittmayer. The boss is a stunner and the 9th Forchheim beer queen, Melanie, also works here. The Schäuferla are the best in Franconia!

Were with a group during the Annafest. Despite the large group, eating went relatively quickly. Almost everyone got their food at the same time and there were over 20 people. Really great. Tastes very good. Portion size OK, but not huge. Schäuferla are highly recommended.

We really enjoyed the evening today. Rittmayer beer in steins with a nice head of foam. Very good food with great service. A good cigar to enjoy - and for the first time we got a real cigar ashtray. A cellar with enjoyment and style. Here’s to life until 8:30 a.m. 😀 and many thanks to the innkeeper and his attentive, very friendly staff. And now there’s a tour of the cellar. Paid a Pfand during annafest and it wasn't returned, said they didn't charge a pfand. Not good 👎 Edit: reply for response... So why wasn't our paid pfand returned then???? 🙄

I like it! To get to the point. The bell cellar is also in winter! And yes, you should make a reservation because capacities are limited. And because it's cold outside at the moment ;-D But the food is delicious, the beer is delicious, the service is on point and friendly, it's warm and cozy. Price for Forchheim is really ok. What else do you want??? ;-D No, seriously, just moved in and looking for a warm, nice home lol, that's really something nice. Come and enjoy :-)

Delicious beer in a great atmosphere

Great beer and excellent food! We had the belly - crispy rind, tender meat, hearty sauce. Thats how it is suppost to be. The service was also very friendly and quick. The location is also inviting and cozy. Beautifully embedded in the curve on the slope, centrally located in the Kellerwald. All in all, absolutely recommended!

Hatten gestern mit unseren Verein den Abend leider wieder mal am Glockenkeller verbringen müssen und sehr viel Geld dagelassen, der Dank war das man uns um 21.30 nicht mehr auf die Toilette gelassen hat mit derBegründung es wäre schon geputzt und ob man denn nicht warten könne bis man Zuhause wäre....!! Eine Asolute Frechheit was sich dieser Möchtegern Wirt da erlaubt ...uns ha ter definitiv das Letze mal dagesehn Sein Essen ist sowieso überteuert und qualitativ nicht mehr nennenswert.

It was the first time at the Glockenkeller with a larger group of guests (60 adults and kids). The whole team from the Glockenkeller gave us excellent hospitality. Nice location in the Kellerwald with a playground for the children nearby. There is great beer and good food. Also a big compliment to the kitchen and the waitresses. Friendly, professional and nice atmosphere. Everyone felt comfortable, young and old.

Actually a nice cellar but I've been waiting for my shashlik pot for three quarters of an hour and my wife has already finished her currywurst. At the beginning it was said that the shish kebab pot takes 20 minutes but that's cheeky. Other tables that ordered after me received their shashlik pot upon request from the delivery person

Wir hatten einen super tollen Abend im Glockenkeller, der Kamin war an, das Ambiente super und das Essen mega gut und preis Leistung stimmte zu 100%! Zum krönenden Abschluss bekamen wir noch eine Führung vom Chef persönlich durch den Keller. Ein tolles Erlebnis! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Eine Urige Waldwirtschaft, auf mehreren Ebenen. Das Ambiente ist der Umgebung einfach gehalten. Wie ein Biergarten mit Holztischen und Holzbänken. Gegen zuviel 🌞 Sonne gibt es ein Gleichnamiges Segel. Das Personal ist Nett sowie schnell und zuvorkommend. Mann sollte vielleicht mal Einkehren.

Mussten leider über 30 Minuten aufs 1te Bier warten. Selbstabholung direkt am Ausschank war zusätzlich leider nicht möglich. 2te Bierbestellung direkt beim Erhalt des ersten, somit war dies OK. Wartezeit beim Essen deutlich länger. Essen war sehr gut, leider die Portion extrem klein. 2 Bedienungen zum Bestellungen aufnehmen für den kompletten Keller. Auch Folgebestellung waren nur schwierig an den "Mann" zubringen.

Der Kellerberg ist sehr gemütlich. Wir waren mit dem Rad nur auf ein Bier am Glockenkeller. Gibt lecker Hallerndorfer!

Bei meinem letzten Besuch ist mir sehr angenehm aufgefallen, welch positiver Stimmung alle Bediensteten waren, obwohl an diesem Samstagmittag wirklich viel Arbeit zu erledigen war und alle Gäste möglichst gleichzeitig mit Speisen und Getränken versorgt werden wollten. Dank einer wohl durchdachten Organisation waren die Wartezeiten erfreulich kurz. Kompliment! Die Bratwürste mit Kraut und Brot schmeckten mir hervorragend.

Der Glockenkeller liegt wunderschön im Wald, genauso wie die anderen Keller. Die Crew ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Für die Kinder gibt es einen schönen Spielplatz, wo sie sich austoben können. Sie können frei rennen, da kein Auto kommen kann. Die Brotzeiten kann ich sehr empfehlen, genauso wie die warmen Gerichte. Es ist sehr schön angerichtet und schmeckt Fantastisch. Es gibt verschiedene Sorten Rittmayer Bier aus Hallerndorf, dass sehr lecker schmeckt. Alles in allem ein toller Keller. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt super.

Eigentlich ein schöner Keller und für Sonntag nachmittags am Annafest war eigentlich nicht so viel los, die Bedienungen waren trotzdem überfordert, man musste sich sprichwörtlich eine "einfangen" und der Oberhammer die Jungs am Zapfhahn: ein Schnitt Weizen (weil's keine Weizen Gläser hatten, wie andere Keller) lediglich zum Drittel gefüllt und das für 7 Euro ist ne Frechheit!
