Hebendanz-Keller in Forchheim

Very unmotivated and unfriendly staff. Stupid remarks instead of a proper greeting. Special requests aren't accepted; they prefer a side salad instead of bread... not available. Instead of the three sausages I ordered, only two arrived! We won't be back.

Here, the Kellerwirt still puts his heart and soul into the traditional way of life. He welcomes guests with typical Upper Franconian charm. I was delighted with the individual menu. Card payments weren't possible, and that's probably not appropriate in such a traditional cellar beer garden.

The Schäuferla (a kind of pork stew) was dry, the sauerkraut was completely overcooked, and the dumpling was the worst; it must have been reheated. It's a shame to get such a meal in Franconia.

I visited this cellar for the first time on August 11, 2025. It was around 8:20 p.m. At first, I was ignored for a long time; the waitress chatted with other guests for a long time. When she came, I ordered a wheat beer, but was then very rudely informed that they were out of food. Everyone around me was still eating. I felt very uncomfortable, but I drank my wheat beer anyway. It's a shame; I come to Kellerberg very often, but I certainly won't be going to this cellar again, even with friends.

We had lunch at the Keller. The prices were reasonable, and the service was friendly.

Absolute favorite beer, Annafest beer is probably the best I have ever drunk

Very unfriendly staff. We were sent away after two minutes with a strange mug. 10 men and women drank everything and ordered more. But we weren't even allowed to sit down. Even friendly conversations on our part weren't accepted. We were even threatened with a lawyer because of a photo. First time at Annafest and never going there again. Karma will take care of it! All the best to the cellar anyway…

Cozy cellar, good food, good beer. Highly recommended. I like to stop by in the evening for a beer and a currywurst.

Ordered a shoulder of pork, received an unfinished shoulder of pork. It was almost impossible to swallow, let alone cut. It was impossible to do with the knives they provide, but as the kitchen confirmed, the shoulder of pork wasn't cooked through. It came out of the oven far too early. Over half of it went back because it wasn't edible. I still had to pay 80% of the price. I think it's outrageous to charge over €12 for this after the discount! Of course, the discount was only available upon request!

We also had Schäuferle (pork shoulder). They were excellent. Thank you very much. See you again soon.

We visited this cellar twice within a week. It's beautiful and cozy. The first time, during the week, we had a lumberjack steak and a cheese platter. The food was good/okay. The following Sunday, we had Schäufala (pork shank) and a Wiener Schnitzel. Unfortunately, the Schäufala (pork shank) weren't soft at all and therefore simply not tasty. The schnitzel was bland and also tough. Instead of fries, we were served fried potatoes, which were also rather tasteless and mushy. The table behind us was complaining about the Schäufala (pork shank), and the table even further back sent back a Schäufala (pork shank). All in all, it probably wasn't a good day for the kitchen. What a shame... We paid full price, tipped, and went home very dissatisfied. The service, the beer, and the atmosphere were generally good, though.

Too bad, it's time to pay at 9:18 p.m.! No one asked if we wanted another drink. The sausages looked delicious, but didn't taste that good, simply bland. No one even asked when clearing the table whether they were tasty. The beer was delicious. Service with considerable potential for improvement. Another positive: Very nice guests at the table with very pleasant conversations (they had to change cellars for another beer). Addition to the answer: Your answer doesn't reflect the facts. We were even asked to pay at 9:07 p.m. because the cellar was closing - the bill is there. Further addition: Other guests at our table weren't billed, but were billed by the manager about an hour later with a manual receipt, as the cash register had already been dismantled. Two-tier guests?

Nice beer cellar. I always enjoy coming here. Good food, good beer, and, above all, good opening hours. One of the few cellars that's open for lunch during the week. The staff is always friendly; they may be stressed at times, but that's okay, especially in hot weather and with tables full.

Efter en promenad i uppförsbacke hela vägen från tåget var det dags för en matbit. Den blev vi inte besviken på och det gäller heller inte ölen som bryggeriet serverade. Värre var den lokal wc;n, urk!

We ate an excellent Schäufer'la. Really delicious. The landlord and his team are very nice. The selection of dishes is typically Franconian. Big praise to the chef. We'd love to come back.

On the Kellerberg, only the Hebedanz cellar (along with two others) was open on Friday afternoon. The Schäuferla was really tasty and so was the Festbier and the Keller

We had a very pleasant sitting. The food and beer were delicious, just to our taste.

The Kellerwald is in a class of its own anyway, but the beer from Hebendanz in their cellar is a dream for connoisseurs!! The brick cheese (the best in the area) with music is on the same level as from the Sachsenmühle - that's saying something!! Thumbs up. Nice staff, smaller cozy cellar

Wir wurden schnell bedient, das Bier kam direkt aus dem Keller. Die Stadtwurst mit Musik war gut, genauso wie die Schinkenplatte, hätte aber ruhig etwas größer ausfallen können, wenn man den Preis im Auge hat. Der Weg zu denToiletten war etwas weit den Berg hinauf

The food is already designed for mass. We were there for Annafest. We ate 2x currywurst with fries. The fries, sometimes seasoned, sometimes not. Put the sausage in the deep fryer and add the sauce with water. Almost no trace of the curry taste. And that for €9.90... nope. The service was very good. You can take half a hike to get to the toilets. Not recommended at all, especially for older people!

Haben hier lecker Bier getrunken und gut und lecker gespeist, dazu auch noch sehr günstig. Sehr nette Leute als Bedienung. Klare Empfehlung!

Schäuferla was not particularly soft and had no crust but mostly squishy fat, the sauerkraut was cold. Schnitzel was a plain, ready-made schnitzel. Beer was good, but there are no light drinks or still water. It doesn't have to happen again! 2 stars because the beer was good.

Unadulterated, traditional cellar in the best sense of the word. The menu offers the optimal selection of warm dishes and typical cellar snacks, even some dishes for children. Everything was very tasty and good. Hebendanz beer is of course delicious! Waiters experienced and friendly. That's fine!

Essen ist nix besonderes gegenüber anderen Kellern. Bier ist gut wennst a gscheite Bedienung erwischt und eines bekommst. Ich spreche jetzt vor annafest

Bier ist immer gut. Beim Limburger mit Musik hätte man ruhig mal Salz und Pfeffer verwenden können. Bedienung bei halb besetzten Keller nicht Multitasking. Schö ist es trotzdem.👍🍺🍺

Insgesamt ein schöner Keller in Forchheim. Unser Essen war sehr gut. Die Preise im Vergleich mit den anderen Kellern aussenrum Vergleichbar bzw. Etwas teuerer z.b. beim Schäuferla 2 € mehr. Die Bedienungen waren meistens leider Recht langsam und nicht sehr freundlich. Bei eigenen Fehlern leider sogar eher sehr unfreundlich. Daher die 2 Sterne Abzug.

War am Wochenende zum Annafest, sehr freundlicher Service und das Festbier war einfach spitze

Waren heute mit einer wandergruppe von 19 Personen da Da der Biergarten oder auch Keller genannt dadurch etwas gefüllt war ging es aber recht flott zwei Bedienungen waren ständig unterwegs Bier und Essen waren einfach gut Der Weg zum WC ist für manche Besucher schon etwas gewagt Kleiner Tipp von uns da der Keller nicht weit vom Parkplatz ist und am Anfang des Weges ist kann man vor und nach den Besuch eine sehr saubere öffenliche Toilette besuchen ohne Probleme

Das Bier der Brauerei Hebendanz wird auch im Schlößla Keller ausgeschenkt. Diese weniger gastliche Stätte haben wir rasch wieder verlassen, weil der Wirt ein Vorliebe für inhaltlich grenzwertige Punkmusik zu haben scheint. Hingegen geht es Hebendanz Keller, Auf den Kellern 22, ruhiger und gemütlicher zu. Hier mundet das Bier, die Speisen sind preiswert und schmackhaft. Leider hat der Hebendanz Keller (wie fast alle Bewirtungseinrichtungen im Forchheimer Kellerwald) reichlich Patina angesetzt. Es wäre schön, wenn hier mal wieder investiert wird.
