The Schillergarten is simply unbeatable when the weather is nice! In the beer garden directly on the Elbe, the freshly tapped beer tastes particularly good. The atmosphere is relaxed, the view is great - perfect for a leisurely afternoon or evening.

I discovered the Schillergarten a year ago as an irregular visitor to Dresden - and I can't avoid it when I visit what has become my favorite city for a few days again. Everything is right here - service, quality of food, pricing. Even when there's a lot of people, the staff doesn't lose track of things and is always attentive and friendly. I had to smile at one commentator - he was upset that the "building mayor" was being complimented. Wasn't that the one who could have prevented the collapse of the Carola Bridge if action had been taken in time? Yet another reason for me to visit the restaurant on my next DD stay! Warm greetings from a Northern Lights fan of Saxony/Dresden!

Food - very large portions. You can eat... but nothing special. In addition, at the next table there was a smoker who was smoking cigarette after cigarette.

One of my favorites in Dresden. I really like to stop here during my bike tours along the Elbe. I recommend it.

Beer gardens are more similar... That's what most people think. The Schillergarten beer garden stands out from my perspective. The location on the bridge, Blaues Wunder, and the wide range of food on offer and also very, very tasty.... There really is everything.... knuckle, meatballs, bratwurst from our own butcher shop, chicken from the grill and an extra stand in the beer garden with bratwurst and roast meat from the charcoal grill but also vegetarian and also sweets, ice cream (own production) or cake (own production). Drinks, you can get the most out of them. Take your time to look at the information boards with the offers, if you can't find anything there....variety, something for everyone. The highlight for me today was a fish roll... Baltic coast must come here sometime, I've never eaten Bismarck rolls like this before, praise to the young man who freshly prepared it for me. Prices are absolutely competitive. And by the way, the beer garden is on the bike path. Kicking around a bit for delicious food and drinks, it couldn't be better 😊 Your beer garden tester Gert

It's better not to eat anything, it doesn't taste good. Just drink beer or wine in the beer garden, enjoy the great ambience and don't think about the prices. And above all, don't get annoyed by the arrogance of the employees in the beer garden, they don't know any better. Then that's fine! 👍

Unreserved recommendation for this picturesque place with delicious milky coffee at reasonable prices with a view of the “White Deer” and the “Blue Wonder”! Located directly on the Elbe, you will be pampered by the quick and friendly staff, who will even give our dog a bowl of water without asking.

A very nice beer garden in itself, beautifully located and offering a pleasant atmosphere - perfect for a relaxed visit in good weather. Self-service is fine, but we would have liked it better if you were served. Unfortunately, the current concept results in many guests simply leaving their rubbish on the tables, which is really unpleasant and unhygienic. When you want to sit down, you often have to clean up other people's mess first - this significantly spoils the experience. In terms of price, everything is within reasonable limits and absolutely fair for a beer garden of this type. Conclusion: A nice place with potential, but it would be desirable to get the issue of cleanliness and service concept under control a little better in order to make the stay more pleasant for everyone.

Recommend? 100% every application is pointless, you have to eat here.

Had an Alpine burger, burger with meatloaf and fries, coleslaw, and a non-alcoholic Radeberger 0.3 l. Went there with a friend, he had meatloaf with fried eggs and fried potatoes. We were there for two hours at lunchtime. Fast service, great food.

A large restaurant with a large beer garden. Still an attentive and friendly service. A large selection of delicious, fresh food and drinks is available. So there's definitely something for everyone.

We celebrated our wedding in the Schillergarten. Everything was excellent! The coordination of the preparations, the food, the drinks and the service were very good. Overall, the transaction was very professional. The wedding cake came from the in-house pastry shop. Thanks for the great time!

A must for all Dresden residents. Always happy to go there

It should not be allowed to smoke indoors because there are people eating, babies or pregnant women there and there are no windows that can be opened. It's a huge disrespect to the other people eating lunch there and some might even be suffering from respiratory illnesses. There is plenty of space outside for smokers to enjoy their cigarettes - but not in an enclosed space! This should be forbidden by law!

A super nice, sunny beer garden right on the Elbe. The grilled food is very tasty. Unfortunately, you have to wait in line for quite a long time and spend a little more money. Overall, definitely recommended.

Unfortunately I have to comment negatively. Today we ordered 2 solijanka in the garden, large ones, where we fished out at most 2 spoonfuls of thick ones, the rest were only thin ones. After careful complaining in the restaurant, we were given 2 small plates as replacements. Unfortunately, no word of apology. For a red wine glass full of Aperol Spritz 0.2 the rest 6x ice cream plus a non-alcoholic beer 13.50 euros that is not acceptable. In the future we will stop at the grain garden. Ambience is actually 👌

You have to get up early if you want to find space here. 😉 When the weather is nice, the number of visitors inside and outside is very large. The service tries hard and is friendly and the kitchen does its best. The food is tasty and the location is very nice.

Many thanks to the Schillergarten and all the fantastic staff. We had a wonderful birthday party with many friends in the Elbzimmer. The hot and cold buffet was delicious and lovingly prepared. The waitresses were always attentive to the guests, and there was no shortage of drinks. All the details were discussed in advance with Ms. Friedrich and Benni. We would like to thank everyone involved again for the successful celebration and can highly recommend the Schillergarten.

The food is really good. It's always busy and you can't always get a seat. Or you don't get the place you want. The employees are generally very friendly, but you can tell when it's stressful. Then you can get a somewhat hearty saying thrown at you.

Fried potatoes way too oily. Drink was slammed on the table rather rudely. Carelessly prepared food. Too bad!

Unfortunately we missed the target. The beer garden is self-service including return of dishes. With cheap wooden chairs without any seating. No music in the background. Nevertheless, the prices are incredibly high: 0.5 liters of beer are available for €5.60, a small one costs €4.10 - +/- a few cents each. Of course you get a wonderful view of the Blue Wonder and the hills on the opposite side of the river. Neither of these things ever justifies the price. The service at the two pavilions is nice but reduced to the essentials, which greatly reduces the beer garden feeling. Subsequently downgraded from 3 to 2 stars: piss drain as a urinal replacement and certainly hasn't been cleaned for a whole day, given the number of dried urine stains on the floor

The Schillergarten - located directly on the Elbe and the Blue Wonder. Always worth a visit - especially on sunny days. The food is good, home-style and generally delicious. A commercial kitchen with lots of capacity. Unfortunately, as a gluten-free eater you are quite restricted and the staff are rather ignorant about this topic and what is used in the food. You can do better, I think that would be great!!! 😊 Otherwise, see you next time, I'm looking forward to it. 👋🏻

View is nice. Lots of seats. But the volume was limited. The atmosphere was more for older people in smarter clothes, but the food and drinks were delicious.

We are now regular visitors to the Schillergarten again and always feel welcome!

The last time I was here was 4 years ago and I didn't remember the Schillergarten very well. Nevertheless, we wanted to give the traditional restaurant another chance. What we found nice was the cozy, rustic “winter garden” in Alpenstüberl style, which seems to be new. But we found it a bit too cold to sit there for longer and so we looked for a table inside. On the other hand, I found the atmosphere quite uncomfortable, too big and too brightly lit. The service was nice, but not exceptionally nice and the food wasn't enough for the price. I strongly advise against ordering a small salad for 7.50 euros if you expect more than a handful of greens and 3 wedges of tomatoes. The solyanka was tasty, but also far too minimally portioned for 7.50 euros. We didn't find the menu varied enough. There were only 5 vegetarian dishes, all of which were very filling. For simple meals such as omelettes or farmer's breakfasts you pay around 15 euros - there was no upper limit. In summary, I would say that the Schillergarten is far too overrated due to its popularity and good location and that you get little food for a lot of money. If I ever end up here again, it would only be in the summer to visit the beer garden.

My mom sits in a wheelchair and it is actually difficult to find a suitable restaurant with space and a disabled toilet - unfortunately also in Dresden. Everything was perfect here in the Schillergarten, courteous employees who hold doors open, put away chairs quickly and are very attentive. The food was great and it was a successful evening, both in the beer garden and in the restaurant. Big congratulations to everyone!

Historic restaurant on the Elbe at the Blue Wonder. You can eat and drink comfortably from coffee, lunch and dinner here. There are seats in the restaurant and also in the outdoor garden. There is also a playground for children.

The beer garden is nice, but not really part of the restaurant. You can eat outside, but then you have to order inside, pay in advance and pick up your food yourself after a while. The food is reminiscent of frozen food - thawed croquettes, tasteless sauce and watery broccoli along with pork cheeks. To charge €21.90 for this is a disgrace, especially since service isn't even included if you want to sit outside. All in all, it's more of a rip-off. The shop thrives on its location and obviously relies on it.

The outdoor area was once a good tip for the whole family, but after the last price increase this can only be said to a limited extent, but still nice staff

We celebrated my father's 90th birthday in the Schillergarten. We were very happy with everything, great ambience, delicious and rich (evening) food, and the staff/waitress were extremely friendly and attentive. We'd love to come back :)

Spontaneously ate something here. Even though everything was full on this sunny Sunday lunchtime, we still managed to get a table by the window. I ate a delicious, very filling knuckle and my wife ate a Viennese schnitzel. Prices reasonable, service quick and uncomplicated. Thanks!

Nice restaurant with a great location on the Elbe. The food was very tasty and the staff friendly and helpful.

Addition 02/25/2025 Plate of green bean stew with lamb. A catastrophe. In fact, a thin Maggi broth with a few beans and potatoes in it is totally over salted. And I doubt whether the lamb was. A no go for me The Rostbrätel had the consistency of a leather insole, the so-called Sauerbraten had apparently made its acquaintance with the pressure cooker and had a pungent vinegar taste. At least there was 1 (in words ONE) raisin in the sauce. The spiced meat was slumbering under a centimeter-thick layer of cardboard, whose shimmering dark yellow color suggested that it might be cheese, which was at least emphasized by the long threads. The so-called apple cake consists of 2/3 sticky dough, the crumbles are greasy, and somewhere in the pudding mixture there are a few rudimentary traces of apple. All of this was then perfectly rounded off by the waiter's stroppy, mushy and incompetent answers. We used to enjoy going there as a family, but apparently you can save yourself that. Apparently set up for mass processing. Schillergarten? Schiller shakes his head. In the future we will save ourselves having to spend €149 and then be fobbed off like that. NO THANKS !

Wir waren am Wahlabend mit unseren Freunden da. Die Tische waren stark besetzt mit Menschen in blauen Hoodies mit Alice Aufschrift. Diese wurden genau wie wir von freundlichem, aber gebrochen deutsch sprechendem Servicepersonal bedient. Zwiespältig. Als Familienlokal für uns leider nicht mehr geeignet. Die Rouladen waren leider extrem trocken. Schade.

We celebrated our 80th birthday there. Service was really attentive and very friendly, a very nice atmosphere and the buffet was really very tasty.

We wanted to have a quick coffee in the Schillergarten today. We ordered from a friendly Vietnamese... after a while the cake or our ice cream arrived with the promise that the coffee would come straight away. Well, the coffee came 15 minutes later. When I explained to the man, who spoke broken German, that the point of drinking coffee is to have the drink and the food together, it was pretty buggy for him ;-) Rising prices, poor quality and a Babylonian variety of languages. We're not coming back.

The best cheese spaetzle in all of Saxony! The food is really good here and the ambience is beautiful too. Friendly staff, everything was great!

It's not my first time here. It's super cozy here. This time I had pea soup which was really great, a large bowl for just under 6 euros which is fine. Even in warmer seasons it is really beautiful on the Elbe cycle path under the blue wonder, so there is also a beautiful view of it and the Elbe. All I can really recommend here is to stop. I'll be back on Monday after my doctor's visit.

At the weekend we were with a larger group upstairs in the Schillergarten with a view of the Blue Wonder. The service was great, hospitality is still alive here!!! The buffet we ordered was plentiful and tasty, there was something for every taste. Absolute recommendation if you want to celebrate in a relaxed manner with up to 50 people.

An institution with tradition in a fine location in Dresden. Preferably outdoors (great beer garden), best indoors (large restaurant with traditional cuisine).

The food was very good and of course the location at the Blauer Wunder was worth seeing. The service was friendly, but more attention would have been appreciated. When it comes to reordering drinks or desserts, I would like to ask proactively and not ask repeatedly. This despite the fact that we were sitting on the main walkway towards the outside lights.

It is a place with several restaurants in the surrounding area. In the parking lot they place three times a week, a food, flower and plant sales market, In addition, a path in front of the bank of the Elbe River. Beautiful and you can visit the swans, ducks, seagulls and birds that like to swim in the river. You can also see the blue bridge. A spectacular landscape.

As a guest you almost have to apologize for the service. Incredibly bad-tempered staff. As a guest, it's not my problem whether there's a lot going on. Then the job is wrong. The food is just ok. Too expensive for the prices. The location is the big plus. And it's good that the cars down by the Elbe are gone.

Definitely one of the best, most traditional restaurants in Dresden. A clear recommendation for both locals and tourists. Here you won't be ripped off as a holidaymaker, as is so often the case in the state capital. Big compliments to the kitchen, the Christmas roast was fantastically delicious!
