Was here on 22 Dec 1pm for lunch. Ambiance is unique with a short train 🚆 carriage in the restaurant Nice interior with Xmas decor Service is average Food wise is Saxon cuisine. It’s not to my liking.

An interesting and cozy atmosphere, fast and very friendly service, and really good and plentiful food at good prices. Not my first time here, and I'll gladly come back again. Thank you!

A wonderful, nostalgic restaurant in the heart of Dresden. Stepping inside feels like taking a trip back to the early 19th century. Simply delightful and nostalgic. The menu offers typical Saxon specialties – all hearty, traditional, and delicious.

From the outside, the location is rather unassuming compared to what lies within. A very beautiful location that invites you to linger with the whole family.

The service was very friendly. The ambiance is nicely rustic. The food and drinks were good.

Perhaps it's best not to go there with a large group for the Christmas party. It's a large, busy place, loud, and the food portions are definitely pre-prepared. The roast goose leg was too small and dry for €33; the two dumplings and the red cabbage were the only highlights. A shame. The braised ox cheeks are recommended, and the conductor's platter was a decent portion for around €30, but it was cold. The service was attentive and friendly. The Wi-Fi was terrible. Card payments were only accepted directly at the counter. I won't be coming back and can't recommend it.

We were there in July 2025 and had breakfast there several times. The value for money was excellent (10/10). The waitress, Sahra, was very friendly and quickly remembered our food and drink preferences. All the other staff were also friendly and helpful. We highly recommend a visit. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation. Thank you to the whole team for the excellent service and friendliness.

This year, we had our Christmas party here with colleagues. Everything was delicious. The service was very attentive, and the menu offered a good selection. After dinner, we were offered a complimentary shot and entertained by a "conductor" who told a few jokes. The only downside: Please clean the men's restroom more often – once or twice a day isn't enough.

We spontaneously got a table for 9 people, the food was hearty and plentiful... despite the Christmas rush, the staff were super friendly, would gladly come again 👌

We had a 9:00 a.m. reservation and arrived about 10 minutes early due to the snow and heavy wind. When we walked in, no one was inside at first. A staff member then approached and told us to leave because they were not officially open yet, despite the weather. She said we could wait outside. Five minutes later, I returned to ask if we could come in to get out of the snow and wind. At that time, the same staff member and several others were outside smoking and joking. We were given unfriendly looks and told they still had “five minutes left,” while she continued smoking. At that point, we no longer felt comfortable or confident in receiving good service, so we left and went elsewhere. We had Green Vault tickets shortly after and didn’t want to risk a negative dining experience. I understand opening times, but for a restaurant that accepts reservations at 9:00 a.m., located in such a premium tourist area near the Frauenkirche, a more pragmatic and hospitality-focused approach—especially in severe weather—would be expected. This was a very poor first impression.

Lovely atmosphere. Despite the size of the restaurant, our large group was served promptly. The food arrived at roughly the same time. It wasn't too loud despite the restaurant's size. They start sweeping around 11 pm.

Fun atmosphere, friendly service. Unfortunately, she didn't ask how we liked the food. That's why I'm writing it down here. The pork knuckle is not recommended. It was partly gristly, and half of it consisted of chunks of fat. The gravy, the Bohemian dumplings, and the sauerkraut, on the other hand, were good. The salad with the tiger prawns was colorful; the house dressing was probably there, but we didn't notice it.

Great restaurant, I stumbled upon it by chance, super friendly staff, very good food and drinks (soda), only the noise level is, in my opinion, very high. We had a club meeting at the next table, and the noise was almost unpleasant, but that's not the restaurant's fault. Will we come back? Absolutely, a definite recommendation! But next time, go to the front, where the lovely tram stops 😊

We waited a very long time for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. After we finally received our burgers after more than an hour, they were cold and the buns were completely dried out. The price was not justified.

The buffet price was absolutely fair and reasonable. Children up to 6 eat free, and those aged 6-10 pay half price. The presentation wasn't very appealing. There's room for improvement in terms of the design and labeling of the dishes. The rolls were rather basic, but the bread was good. The service was fast and attentive!

Saxon cuisine can be much better; unfortunately, it's only average quality at exorbitant prices, or what's often called a tourist trap… What a shame.

Don't miss Dresden 1900. You simply feel at home here. Located in Dresden's hotspot, it's a wonderful meeting place for family, friends, and tourists from all over the world. The service is exceptionally friendly and always helpful. Prices and quality are more than fair. The originality is evident inside. Here you'll find unusual and sometimes surprising information about Dresden. So be sure to go inside and take a closer look at the interior.

Excellent beef goulash! Great atmosphere and super friendly and attentive service.

The potato soup was tasteless, and the burger, which cost €22, was, according to my son, one of the worst he's ever eaten. The only good thing was the bratwurst. They also charged us double for the quark balls, which weren't good either. Now we understand why it only has 3.8 stars on TripAdvisor. Truly disappointing and a tourist trap.

Value for Money & Conclusion The value for money is good. Of course, you're also paying for the prime location and the unique experience. The portions are generous. Conclusion: DRESDEN 1900 is a must for all Dresden visitors looking for authentic Saxon cuisine in a truly unique, nostalgic atmosphere. It's definitely more than just a restaurant – it's an experience. I recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant is very popular.

The food is a joke, very expensive and not good at all. The beef goulash only contained one piece of actual goulash; the rest was just a few strands of meat. It came with two potatoes cut in half. It might have been enough for an appetizer. But the schnitzel, for example, costs between €22 and €26, which is completely disproportionate to the quality and quantity. The other guests were also dissatisfied. I wouldn't recommend this place.

What I'm writing here is nitpicking at a high level. The food is mostly typically Saxon and overall really good. Everything is edible and reasonably priced. I wouldn't cook the red cabbage like that today; it was too sweet and overcooked. The goulash, on the other hand, was simply excellent. My father wasn't impressed with the risotto; it was overcooked and, instead of being mushy, was unfortunately slimy. The starter soups were great. As I said, it was good overall. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. I'm satisfied and can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

Very cozy and super friendly service. Conny is the best! The food is also always a dream and delicious. We ate here three days in a row and would come back anytime. If you want typical Saxon home cooking in a pleasant "tram-like" atmosphere, this is the place for you. We highly recommend it!

Something so friendly and accommodating is something you rarely find these days. But here it is. My wish was granted as a matter of course – thank you for the delicious pork knuckle... Stay as you are, and anyone who doesn't come to you will have missed out.

A unique restaurant with a wide selection of dishes. The service was inconsistent. At first, I was yelled at for only making a written reservation on the day of my visit. "You just have to pick up the phone" - very charming :-). The waiter was very nice. Despite a slow start, I would recommend it.

A restaurant that tells a bit about Dresden's history. Inside, you have the chance to sit in an old tram. It's a nice event for 12 people. The food is excellent – ​​I recommend the Dresdener Batzen.

I stayed outside with a nice view of the Frauenkirche😊. I ordered capuccino and apple strudel. Not that spectacular but the price is surprising for not a great apple strudel and normal coffee.

Excellent. From the outside, it looks so narrow, but inside it's spacious and very interesting. Many celebrities have visited and immortalized themselves. The sauerbraten is absolutely delicious. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We had a good laugh. Funny menu and interesting, historic location. Dresden 1900 is the first restaurant we head to. This time we were very lucky and immediately got a table for 6.

We were there as a large group (about 30 people). The service was okay, but a bit rude to us at times. The food ranged from 0 to 5 stars, so I'm giving it 3. The burgers were either burnt or dry as sand, and the desserts were only frozen, but the burger and other items were very tasty.

We were at Dresden 1900 today, and the first thing we noticed was the friendly staff. We were told shortly beforehand that everything was booked, and as we were already looking for an alternative, an employee came out for a moment to catch our breath. We politely asked if everything was really booked and if there was any way we could still snag a spot for the two of us. After a quick tour of the interior, she found a spot for us. The interior of the restaurant is very quaint and completely designed to resemble a train station and a museum. The service was quick and always engaging, with cheeky remarks. The food, including seasonal penne with chicken fillet and the Dresdner Batzen (a kind of fried dough), was excellent. The meat was super tender, the pasta was cooked in point, and the fried potatoes were juicy and crispy... A dream!! We recommend everyone visit with advance reservation.

It's still there: good German cuisine. (with Saxon influences). When the weather is good, you can sit on Neumarkt with a direct view of the Frauenkirche. The staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, there are few vegetarian dishes.

We visited this particularly lovingly designed restaurant with a tour group. Several wheelchair users were also in our group. The staff were well-prepared for us and provided prompt and friendly service. A recommendation for both groups and people with disabilities.

The Eisbecher ice cream (8.9 EUR) and the Eistee-Pfirsich peach iced tea (6.2 EUR) were both delicious. The outdoor seating on the first floor is a great place to relax on a hot day. Once you're seated, a server will come around to take your order. The ice cream was absolutely delicious, and the iced tea wasn't too sweet, making it a great drink when you're thirsty. A separate ice cream menu is available. (It would be nice if they changed the photos on the ice cream menu. The actual ice cream looks prettier.)

My wife's goulash with red cabbage was delicious. Unfortunately, the schnitzel was nothing for me. It tasted strongly of frying oil and was very thin. You have to accept that at a snack bar; it shouldn't be served in a restaurant.

We got a seat quickly, but then unfortunately had to wait a long time to order, even though there were almost no other people in the restaurant. The staff thought it was more important to sort the cutlery. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Well... the food afterwards was worth the wait and made up for the initial annoyance.

A place with beautiful decor, I really liked the atmosphere. The tram car standing on the patio does the job. The place is clean and smells nice, the toilets are cleaned and well-appointed. And that's all I liked, but two stars. However, a restaurant should primarily attract and delight with food and secondarily with service. And we decided to eat pork knuckle with my wife, after all we are in Germany in a country where pork knuckle is a national treasure prepared in 1000 ways. We ordered pork knuckle in two ways, one prepared in cabbage and the other baked in beer, both were served with the same Man, which sours the cabbage. I have never eaten such a bad, poorly seasoned and served so senselessly pork knuckle. The pork knuckle had no taste, the cabbage dominated the whole dish, even though these were two dishes, they tasted the same, cabbage seasoned with vinegar. To top it all off, we got sachets of sauces, a sachet of mustard and ketchup. I felt like I was at MCDONALD'S. However, I expect such cheapness at McDonald's, but here it surprised me. Finally, I will say that the cabbage still made me burp for two days after that unfortunate dinner, and my visits to the toilet became more frequent. P.S. The service was no different from the meal, so tell me for yourselves what it was like.

We went there for coffee, and the cake was truly delicious. The only downside was that not all of the drinks were brought to us on the day of the meal. Instead, the iced chocolate was served after we'd already finished the cake, even though we had waited for it.
