I'd heard so much about Uncle Franz from Kassberg, and now I've finally been there myself. It won't be the last time. There were five of us, and everyone had a different delicious dish. I'll gladly come again when I'm in the area.

Cozy and really good, home-style cooking.

The place was open when I showed up around 3:15 pm. one Friday afternoon, but I was told that they "didn't serve food between 15:00 and 16:30". Thanks a bunch! Why operate a restaurant, then?! Anyway, I went back a few days later and had a cabbage roll, which was decent+. I still didn't like the somewhat standoffish waitress.

The food is homely, no-nonsense fare. The portions could be a bit larger for grown men, but they're worth the price. A half-liter of Radeberger for €4.20 is very reasonable. The consistent refusal to accept card payments isn't very welcoming, and the basement location is quaint; the street-facing terrace is noisy during the day.

You can feel at home here. Good, fast service. Attentive, even to our little dog. Good, home-style cooking. Beer - a Guinness. Everything was reasonably priced. Our order came quickly, and it felt like freshly made home-style cooking. I highly recommend the sauerbraten. We should stop here again. Unfortunately, parking here on Kaßberg is time-consuming and a real lottery.

We were here today at 2 p.m. We received a friendly welcome and were seated right away. The food and drinks menu are very limited, and everything sounds very good! The food we chose was delicious, as was the beer. All in all, it was a very nice Wednesday afternoon visit. We'll definitely be back. 😊

We've been coming here regularly for 20 years. The food is good and plentiful, the atmosphere is very pleasant, but unfortunately, the service leaves more and more to be desired. As soon as the waitress is bothered by something, they let you know, and special requests are only accepted with reluctance. Not a good advertisement for this lovely pub and the friendly owner, who you unfortunately rarely see anymore. So, there's still room for improvement in the service...🤗

We were there on a Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and had no problem choosing from the lunch menu. Very tasty, reasonably priced, the menu was extensive and very appealing, and the service was pleasant, friendly, and quick... All in all, a highly recommended German restaurant!

We arrived at 6:45 p.m. today for dinner at this restaurant, which was barely a third full. We waited for 5 long minutes at the counter, watching an elderly woman struggle to fill a glass of beer. She didn't even glance at us. After 5 minutes, I approached the counter and asked if we could take a table in English. The woman asked me violently, "Vier personnen?" I replied in English that yes, there were four of us. She rolled her eyes and blew heavily, showing us that our presence bothered her. I asked her in English if she had so much money that she didn't need it, and if it bothered her so much to work? Faced with her foul mood and rudeness, we preferred to leave the establishment without giving our money to this rude woman, who must be retiring soon! We're business owners, and we know how important politeness and hospitality are when dealing with customers. This person clearly didn't want to work tonight. I advise her boss to fire her so she can roll her eyes at her TV and not at the establishment's customers. If she's the owner, she should quickly sell her business and go to a retirement home. Detestable welcome, rude character, too bad for the image she gave us of a German restaurant. Fortunately, we're smart enough not to reduce a nation to this woman's stupidity. Good luck to the daredevils who show up at Uncle Franz's.

The service was very unfriendly, and I had to wait a long time for the expensive and dry menu. Special requests were only accommodated reluctantly and rudely. Because of the poor service, I didn't leave a tip, which I felt was evident in the unfriendly way my change was handed over.

Nice restaurant on the Kaßberg. Parking situation but like everywhere in the area rather difficult (park around the corner at Edeka) Nice outside area. Price/performance is okay. The asparagus with schnitzel was tasty and there was a lot of it, but the Viennese schnitzel was unfortunately quite “over the top”. My starter was forgotten and, to make matters worse, we had two broken dishes. The service could be a little more charming😏. We'll be back ✌️

Today we had dinner at Uncle Franz's. First of all, the spinach dumplings with sage butter were really tasty and well made. Unfortunately, that's the only positive thing I can say about the evening. Unfortunately the service wasn't as good as the dumplings. It started with the fact that you couldn't change your dish because it would be too time-consuming for one person in the kitchen and we're talking about fries instead of croquettes with the schnitzel. Sorry, but that really isn't possible, I don't know what the effort would be to throw something else into the deep fryer. Unfortunately, it continued so that the schnitzel wasn't cooked through, but was still raw in the middle. That really doesn't work at all. Unfortunately disappointing and not a nice experience. Overall, the dishes seem very simple and not of high quality (except for the spinach dumplings). So if you want to come over for a drink and spinach dumplings for dinner, without making any special requests, a recommendation otherwise you should cook yourself at home or go to another restaurant.

Absolutely inedible. I had the pork loin. The meat was of low quality, the "cream" sauce was a cheap vegetable broth, the croquettes were soggy. All convenience. I threw away the entire meal after the first bite. Card payment was not possible. Overall, a sad experience that I would never want to repeat and would not wish on anyone else with a sense of taste.

First off . Service very friendly and attentive. The ambience matches the food. Quaint, beautifully decorated. Wood. Very suitable and pleasant. You like to sit longer. Now to the most important thing: the food. We had cauliflower soup which was served cold. Maybe it sounds like that... but it was very tasty. Fried mushrooms with very tasty tartar sauce. The main course is classic schnitzel and spinach dumplings. Both very tasty. Made with love I would interpret the plate language. Everything homemade. We will be back. 5 Stars :)

Rustikale und schöne Gaststätte. Mit Stil und Flair. Das Angebot wechselt teilweise saisonal und bietet immer wieder neue Gerichte zu entdecken. Wir hatten die Hacksen mit Beilagen und Kraut sowie ein Schnitzel. Allerdings empfanden wir beide die Portionen etwas zu klein. Das Mischemüse wirkte wie ein TK Produkt, die sauce auch und Kartoffeln waren recht spektakulär. Dafür war der Preis im Mittelklasse Bereich. Insofern waren wir mit dem Preis Leistungsverhältnis nicht ganz einverstanden. Die Auswahl der Speisen war eher gering. Wir hatten uns aufgrund der Rufes mehr erhofft

Yesterday we went to the open day at the future kindergarten and came across the Uncle Franz location through our own research. As 3 adults plus 2 children, we got a nice place. The service was super nice and child-friendly 👍🏼 The food far exceeded our expectations. Really really tasty freshly prepared food. The cook knows her craft very well 👍🏼 Very, very tasty home-style German cuisine. Anyone who is in the area should pay a visit. We will be back.

A rather small but very cozy restaurant, which is why you're definitely better off with a reservation, like almost everywhere these days. The staff was very friendly and you didn't have to wait particularly long for drinks or food. The food was very good, even if the prices seemed a little high, but in my opinion this is not due to the restaurants but to the constantly rising prices in all areas. Accordingly, the prices are appropriate as it was no more expensive than elsewhere. The biggest problem is probably the sometimes hopeless parking situation, as a camera has now been installed in the nearby Edeka parking lot and you are only allowed to park there for 90 minutes at a time. So if you don't have that far, you'll certainly be less stressed at your destination without a car and more relaxed when dining.😉
