Eine ambitionierte Speisekarte mit Gerichten die man so oft in Chemnitz nicht wieder findet. Am Wochenende sollte man Geduld mitbringen. Das man mehr als eine Stunde auf das Hauptgericht warten muss ist keine Entschuldigung Wert und der Kellner fragt dann auch lieber nicht ob's geschmeckt hat.

A very nice restaurant; I liked the atmosphere, although it was a bit cold inside. The food selection is very good, and everything tastes great. The service is attentive and polite.

The service was excellent as always. 2022 Specials - double Pferdebeff, a fried egg, and a few fried potatoes. Minimal special request. Very tasty. 2022 Here again, for a Rossbeff and a zander fillet. As always, everything was excellent. 2021 We decided to come here today on short notice, but not without a prior reservation. Our visit went as expected. Friendly welcome, pleasant ambiance, everything clean and tidy. Fast, attentive, and friendly service. A well-stocked and balanced food and drink menu. The prices were reasonable and moderate. We would gladly return and highly recommend it.

An institution for delicious food in Chemnitz. Even my grandmother used to buy the delicious meatballs there. Excellent home-cooked horsemeat dishes. The roulades and the sauerbraten are the most delicious.

It's always a pleasure to be a guest here. The service is always courteous and friendly. You never have to wait long for a drink, and later for your food. The beer is always nice and cold, and the food is not only delicious, but also perfectly cooked. The service is always attentive and notices when the glasses are almost empty. A chic restaurant with a very nice beer garden. The staff was friendly, and we were served promptly. However, the food was a bit disappointing. The roulade wasn't seasoned at all.

Definitely recommend it; the horse tastes sweeter, but still delicious. I recommend the sauerbraten (a kind of roast beef from horse meat). The staff was very friendly, from the phone call (order) to the expert's comments on the Hoppa.

If you like horse food, this is the place for you. They also serve other dishes. The sausage I bought tasted very good, and my customer was very pleased, especially that they still have horse sausage available. This won't be the last time I'll be there. Thank you.

I've been going there for almost 55 years. First with my father, then on my own from the age of 10, and now every now and then when I'm in the area. Just now. Except for the mixed vegetables, it still tastes the same. Today, on Sunday, everything was set up, but I still managed to get a seat with the little one. Just keep going as long as I can.

Today was the hottest day of the year so far, at 37°C. I wanted to sit outside somewhere in the shade, but unfortunately it was very busy. That was a good sign, though. I had to sit inside anyway. The food was delicious, and the service was very attentive despite the crowd. I had the horse carpaccio and a horse fillet. Both were excellent! I can only recommend stopping by.

Great restaurant, very busy, best to reserve. Good deals even for non-horse meat eaters. The staff is very friendly and attentive. If you can't decide, they'll give you a recommendation. And you can rely on them. Outdoor seating is available in nice weather. In cold weather or during winter, there's a great fireplace room. So be sure to plan a visit and be surprised. A gourmet for gourmets. If you're short on time or a bit tight on budget, you can eat at the snack bar or take something to go. Even if the food in the restaurant is too much, they'll pack it up for you.

A very nice restaurant with a very dedicated host and excellent, varied, and diverse cuisine. There's something for everyone here. Even if you don't eat horse like me, there's a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The sauerbraten with red cabbage and dumplings was fantastic. The salad and dessert left nothing to be desired. The service was first-class, the drinks were absolutely fantastic, and the ambiance was captivating. I'll be back.

We went for lunch and spontaneously decided to come back. I had ox cheeks and was very impressed. The meat was super tender, soft, and melted in your mouth. Unfortunately, the sauce was thickened too much with gravy cake, which diminished the flavor. We sat near the door, which made sitting down a nerve-wracking experience. It was too cold for me. The prices are reasonable for the food. Unfortunately, the tables are too close together. So we heard the conversation from the table behind us and almost couldn't hear each other's words!

We have been guests at the Franklin Hofmann restaurant several times now. I can only warmly recommend it. The service is friendly and relaxed. The food tastes fresh and good. There are standard dishes as well as seasonal dishes. What I particularly remember are the desserts. I haven't dared to try it for a long time but these are extremely good! Unreservedly recommended! One of the best restaurants in Chemnitz, for sure!

Anyone looking for something special is in good hands here. - Every year we stop by “pferde Hofmann” when we visit relatives in Chemnitz. Today we had fillet steak and beff...plus dry Merlot. The food was served by a charming and friendly waitress in traditional costume. Lovely! Everything was absolutely “top”. We are already looking forward to next year.

First find a restaurant that opens Mon.-Sun. Offers lunch and dinner...the first 5 stars for that! The second 5 stars for the fantastic food...whether Ross or other dishes. And the third 5 stars for the friendly staff...Thank you, we'll be back!!

First of all, the ambience is nice and cozy but unfortunately a bit loud due to the very high ceiling, if some guests don't understand that you should restrain yourself, but that's the only point of criticism that in the end the owner can't do much about it. Now for the rest, super friendly service. And the food, WOW, the meat was so super tender and soft that it almost melted in your mouth and the taste was also great, I haven't eaten as good as I did here in years. I can only recommend it and I will definitely come back. Great! Keep it up.

As well as specialties and dishes from steeds/horses. Clear menu. Dishes are available with and without horses. Service very courteous and friendly. Tastes very good. The garlic bread and spiced meat as well as the Rossburger are highly recommended. Price/performance absolutely fine. Clear recommendation.

We were in Chemnitz for a whole weekend. We spontaneously decided to go out to eat at Franklin Hofmann. Everything was full, but thanks to the friendly service we only managed to get a table in a few minutes. All I can say is that I have never experienced this before. And now the food was so outstandingly good, I haven't eaten so well in a long time. Aspic from the horse and my friend schnitzel from the horse. Both were soooo delicious. And first of all the courteous, friendly and very attentive service. Simply great!!! We will definitely come back. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Auf Einladung meines Bruders, der seinen Geburtstag hier gefeiert hat, war ich am 08. Februar zum Abendessen hier. Ich hatte Ochsenbäkchen bestellt. Das Essen in dieser Gaststätte hat vorzüglich geschmeckt. Die Bedienung ist flink und sehr freundlich. Auch das Bier war süffig. Ich war zum ersten Mal hier komme aber gerne wieder wenn ich wieder mal für längere Zeit in Chemnitz bin. DANKE den gesamten Team!

February 2025 Been here several times in the family. Always everything perfect. The dish with fine zander fillet fried crispy on the skin and very creative side dishes - premium! Service as always - perfect! 2024 "A symphony in the highest tones" That's what I would like to call my dessert today: macadamia nut ice cream with a brown bread crust, sea salt and hot plums. Simply fantastic! This creation deserves 5 ☆ . The grilled minced pork was simply delicious, soft and crispy inside and out. Everything 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ from me, including service, kitchen, and is worth the price. Also the opinion of my two companions. Thanks to all.

Wir hatten im Anschluss an den Restaurantbesuch einen Theaterbesuch geplant und waren daher zeitlich gebunden, was wir beim Aufgeben der Bestellung der Bedienung auch mitgeteilt hatten. Wir bekamen die bestellten drei Gänge im perfekten zeitlichen Abstand serviert, sodass keine Hektik entstand. Insgesamt war der Service sehr zuvorkommend, angenehm locker, aber nie unangemessen aufdringlich-jovial. Die von uns gewählten Gerichte, überwiegend auf Basis von Pferdefleisch, haben uns allesamt, sowohl vom Geschmack, der Größe der Portionen, als auch der Art der Zubereitung sehr zufrieden gestellt. Herausheben möchte ich das Filetsteak vom Pferd. Ein solch perfekt zubereitetes Steak bekommt man nicht alle Tage. Zusammengefasst ein dickes Lob an den freundlichen Kellner und das gesamte Team von Pferde Hofmann. Bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Chemnitz werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder vorbeischauen.

Beautiful modern furnishings with tasteful design. There is a fireplace, which unfortunately wasn't heated during our stay.

The Franklin Hofmann restaurant offers a solid dining experience enhanced by charming service in traditional costume. The food is good overall, with the horse burger being a particular highlight. The hearty preparation and the clearly recognizable difference to conventional beef were convincing in terms of taste. However, the ambience leaves something to be desired. In my opinion, the tables are too close together, which creates a lot of noise and makes the conversations of the neighboring tables clearly audible. This spoils the overall impression somewhat, as it affects the intimacy and the cozy get-together. There is a small parking lot directly on site.

The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Our orders came quickly and everything was freshly prepared. The food impressed us - the dishes were well seasoned, attractively presented and the portions were absolutely sufficient. The price-performance ratio is also right here. Overall, a successful visit and we would love to come back!

What happened to the delicious liver dumplings? I've been eating Franklin's legendary Bulletten and Leberködel every now and then for decades. Something happened. The dumplings are now torpedo shaped. That wouldn't be bad in itself, but the texture and taste have completely deteriorated. The sausage meat is finely chopped beyond recognition; there is hardly a trace of horse or liver to be tasted. Just greasier and tastes like nothing. The bullets are also different, but not quite as bad as the dumplings. Both have also lost weight. I'll come back one more time, maybe the butcher just had a bad day. But I have a sneaking suspicion that profit maximization is being pursued at the expense of taste and tradition. If this is the new standard now, then I'll never come back.

They always enjoy going there and are now regular customers. There is extremely good food here, not just from Ross. The ox cheeks are legendary. In addition to the regular menu, there are seasonally varied, always mega-tasty extras. They have the best ice cream, macadamia ice cream with an incredible bread crust around it, with plum or strawberry compote depending on the season. If you don't eat it, it's your own fault.

It should be a cozy evening. Unfortunately the decoration was better than the service I had hoped for. The food took a long time to arrive and when it was finally on the table, oh dear, it was luke warm. It wasn't enough that we pointed this out to the waitress, no, she also started discussing it. It's a shame, but we can also heat our food at home in the microwave. Afterwards we had gambled away, when our plates were cleared there was silence in the forest, I have no idea whether the staff was involved in the sales, but they didn't want anything more from us, so we decided to ask for the bill. Oops, the staff had pizza delivered to the restaurant, which they tasted even before they asked if we had another request. Very bad!! There we sat, wanted to pay and had to disturb the poor staff while they were eating. All in all, my memory of the past has ever been destroyed. Very sad.
