The food was delicious, and so was the ambiance. I hadn't expected it to be so busy on a Tuesday. If we hadn't ordered at 5:30 p.m., we wouldn't have been able to get two seats for 6:30 p.m. The waitress (a woman) was okay, but I felt she lacked warmth and a friendly face. The male waitress was really nice.

We had a lovely evening with you, super delicious food. The surf & turf in particular was huge in portion size; my husband couldn't finish it. The meat was very good and tender, and the sauce was my highlight. 😊 I had the rump steak with chanterelle mushrooms, also excellent and cooked to perfection! The server was extremely courteous and constantly around us, absolutely professional. We always enjoy coming back here. 😊

Great house, dogs welcome, wonderful and very accommodating host, and a fantastic, varied menu. Open on Mondays! We had two starters and desserts (2 people) and a starter and main course (1 person). Everything was delicious, quick, and still fresh. Highly recommended!

Here, you're still treated as a human being. The owner is very nice and always has a funny word ready. The food is delicious and beautifully presented, and despite the fact that a bus with over 40 guests was arriving, the staff was friendly, helpful, and took time for everyone. The inn is very clean and quaintly cozy, and despite being very small and cramped, it's a little space miracle. However, there's even more space outside in the beer garden, which is equipped with parasols. All around, a very pleasant ambiance.

Delicious food the service was fast

It's truly a dream here. Sitting on the cozy terrace, it feels like being in a garden. The service was very professional, and small special requests were easily accommodated. The veal liver and the surf 'n' turf steak were delicious. The prices are unbeatable for the overall quality. The highlight was the availability of Rémy Martin Cognac, which isn't often offered in many restaurants. We will be back.

Unfortunately, I can't agree with all the positive reviews. We ordered ribs with baked potatoes and quark. The food arrived after 3 minutes, which we found odd for ribs. The meat was very marbled and fatty. The silver skin was still on the ribs, and the flavor was correspondingly bland. The ribs seemed to have only been boiled. The potatoes were old, and the raw vegetable salad tasted like a mass-produced product. On a positive note, we were offered espresso after the review. The service was very good. I would be happy if the quality of this dish improved for future guests; then there would be no need for a free espresso.

Our last visit to "An der Schloßmühle" was about 10 years ago; back then, we were impressed by the quality and service. After our visit today, we can see that nothing has changed from our previous assessment. Highly recommended, both in terms of location and ambiance.

Just a quick review of our youth consecration celebration at the Schlossmühle. We can only say again how much we enjoyed it. We had a wonderful celebration with our loved ones. We had coffee and cake, and a fantastic buffet in the evening. All the food and drinks were a huge hit with us and our guests. It was delicious and varied. Overall, I had a good time until the honorary chairman of the AfD and his companions entered the restaurant and were given something to eat after the kitchen had officially closed. This seems to be a regular occurrence at the Schlossmühle, and for me, that's reason enough to avoid visiting this place in the future. Not only opening the door to representatives of a clearly right-wing extremist party, but also giving them special treatment, speaks volumes to me. There are plenty of other places in Chemnitz with a clear political stance that wouldn't do this. I will definitely not be coming back.

In my opinion, one of the best restaurants in the city. We didn't have a reservation, but they provided a table for us even though the restaurant was full. You feel at home here, and the food is excellent. Please keep up the good work.

The service was first-class – warm, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive. As a guest, you feel welcome from the very first moment. The menu offers a successful blend of traditional regional cuisine with modern touches. Our meal was a real highlight: freshly prepared, attractively presented, and deliciously delicious. The value for money is also absolutely fair. Anyone looking for good food in a special atmosphere in Chemnitz should definitely pay a visit to the Gasthaus an der Schlossmühle. I was looking forward to a pleasant evening with friends, but unfortunately, it was severely dampened by the atmosphere in the restaurant. Several well-known AfD representatives were sitting at the next table – a party whose positions I personally consider misanthropic and a threat to democracy. The fact that such guests are apparently welcome here left me with a very uneasy feeling. What was particularly strange was that these guests were still being served even after the kitchen had officially closed. The kitchen had already closed for other guests – apparently, different standards apply here depending on who you are. Of course, a public restaurant can't always choose who comes – but these days, I expect a restaurant to take a stand. If you present yourself as a cosmopolitan, diverse, or family-friendly restaurant, you should also think about the kind of environment you create or tolerate. It's clear to me: I won't be coming back. There are enough alternatives that not only impress with good food, but also stand for values ​​I can support.

The food was really good. However, the waiter would probably be better off at a snack bar. It shouldn't be a fast food place, though. The flashing string of lights right next to you is a bit distracting.

Ordered surf and turf and were sadly disappointed. Ordered medium, but it was cooked well. The menu said king prawns, but we got three small, 4cm prawns. That's just not acceptable.

There was a high chair, pens and something to color in. Class! We were still waiting for the missing guests and were served immediately. The drinks came very quickly and both of our servers were on their toes. They apologized in advance that it might take a little longer until the food could be brought because there was a coach on the upper floor. We found the waiting time to be absolutely acceptable. We were thoroughly entertained by one of our waitresses (Walid?!). Thanks for that! 🥰 That rounded off our little celebration. The food was, as always, very tasty. Small drawback: my mother's pork medallions were a bit tough. All in all it was a great visit and we went home happy. We have been with you many times now and we will continue to be loyal to you. I had dinner there with my family on December 31st and I'm usually not a big fan of German restaurants. However, I really really liked it here. The staff was not only super friendly and customer-oriented, but also open to a few little jokes every now and then. I like that very much. Everyone at the table enjoyed the food very much. The restaurant exudes a cozy atmosphere in which you quickly feel at home, even if it is a bit cramped at times. It was still decorated for Christmas. Big recommendation.

The castle mill has a completely different memory, which is what the current visit is based on. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a disappointment. The menu is clear, you won't find any chicken (except for salad), portions are manageably small for the high prices. Among other things, fries were also ordered, these were fried to death (ketchup is only served free for children, otherwise a small bowl costs 1 euro), drinks were very expensive, especially non-alcoholic ones. Extremely warm and stuffy air in the entire restaurant. Window was opened for a few minutes upon request, but quickly closed again. The service itself was attentive, friendly, accommodating.

We had dinner in the restaurant on December 8th, 2024 as part of a company outing (coach) with 42 people. We had made a menu selection in advance and coordinated the times. Everything went great from the first contact to the moment we left the inn. The welcome was super friendly, the orders were taken and served quickly. Everyone could eat together.
