A very generous breakfast with some exceptional dishes. Excellent value for money. Very attractive and, in some parts, interesting interior design. We would definitely come back.

We were greeted very warmly, and after our jackets were taken, we were shown to our table. The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection, from sweet to savory, hot to cold. Something for everyone. The coffee was a bit strong for my taste, but I easily got a sip of hot water. The atmosphere is lovely and cozy, and the view of the outdoor pool brought back old memories 😆. With the soft background music, we were able to have a pleasant conversation.

We were there for dinner on a Wednesday evening recently. A magician came by for a bit... "Magic Wednesday," as we later found out. It was really cool! Not pushy at all, but friendly, funny, and truly impressive! We're still trying to figure out how he did it 😂 We'll definitely be back; maybe he'll even share his tricks with us 😬

A fantastic, feel-good atmosphere and a fabulous lighting concept. There's a live DJ on themed nights, but conversation becomes difficult after 9:30 pm. The non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails are very tasty. At €7.90 per glass, a regular red wine is rather overpriced. Desserts are highly recommended. Main courses are rather expensive; the surf and turf, unfortunately, is not worth the price. The service is friendly and professional. Overall, it's highly recommended as a bar/lounge for cocktails. As a restaurant, it's rather pricey, and there's room for improvement in the food preparation.

*I am reviewing the breakfast buffet option for about 22€ below* We went to the breakfast buffet with 4 ppl. The choice of food is good and you definitely get enough food to get full. The taste of some hot and cold dishes is good, some rather mediocre - for example the poultry bacon and the hummus or the dessert options. The Falafels are quite nice. In general I believe that 22€ is too much for this breakfast especially considering that you have to pay extra if you want anything than coffee (surcharge for cappuccino etc) and that only one OJ and one black coffee are included. All in all worth trying but I wouldn’t come regularly to be honest. The staff was kind and helpful though! Also one thing I noticed: no fresh vegetables and some things like the olives tasted rather like mass production. Unfortunately, the restroom was also not very clean when I went…

We were there on a Saturday evening for Valentine's Day and were initially greeted warmly. The staff was very friendly and attentive at first. We were quickly shown to our table, and after a short wait, our order was taken and the appetizer served. Unfortunately, the bruschetta was served on a small slate plate, which looked pretty but made it impossible to eat without making a huge mess on the table. At that point, a saxophonist started playing, which is a nice idea in itself. However, from that moment on, it was so loud that it was almost impossible to have a conversation. For my main course, I had shish tawuk. Unfortunately, the chicken was so overcooked that it was only edible with loads of sauce. The portion was a decent size, but it wouldn't have been filling on its own. After the saxophonist finished, the background music became so loud that it was truly unpleasant. For dessert, I had the tiramisu, which was unfortunately just a sticky mess in a glass. I ate it more out of hunger than enjoyment. We decided to leave the restaurant because my girlfriend and I were starting to get headaches from the noise. Towards the end, I noticed the staff became increasingly unfriendly as the evening wore on – even though we were trying to be polite and left a generous tip despite the very high prices. At the coat check, we were simply dismissed without a word by a visibly annoyed woman. No thank you, no goodbye. All in all, a restaurant visit that started off well but then took a turn for the worse. Far too expensive for the quality of the food. We certainly won't be back – what a shame. :(

The food was very good, and the prices were reasonable. Paying in cash took too long. The waiter in charge took far too long and even forgot that I still wanted to pay in cash. His mini-dance routines and seemingly unprofessional conversations with other staff members were more important to him than processing my cash payment! It's best to pay by card only here! Aside from that, the rest of the service was exemplary. The staff was very friendly. They even gave me a complimentary extra appetizer!

Beware of special events! We wanted to attend the 'Kalinka Evening' but were confronted at the entrance with an unannounced minimum spend of €50 per person (for food only!). This wasn't mentioned in the Instagram ad, and the online reservation didn't provide any information either. Since we were only planning on having drinks, we left immediately. A real shame about the wasted time and the lack of transparency.

A very chic restaurant with a really great atmosphere and decor. The staff was super friendly. The food was also quite good. Even the cola tasted special there; after every new drink, they even offered you a fresh glass. Highly recommended! The only slight drawback during the colder months was that some guests frequently went outside to smoke, which occasionally let in a bit of cold air and a draft.

Brunch is highly recommended! There were three of us, and we were able to book our reservation online very easily. It's advisable to plan ahead if you want to have brunch from 10:00 AM onwards; otherwise, the next available slot is at 12:30 PM. When we entered the restaurant, a waiter greeted us very quickly and asked if he could take our coats and hang them up. This alone made a very positive first impression. Another advantage was that the coats were taken by a server, thus avoiding any fuss. The breakfast was beautifully presented in a large room. The atmosphere at the table was fantastic! Although it was quite busy, it was easy to have a conversation. Relaxing music played in the background. Orange juice and a café crème are included with breakfast. If you'd like a cappuccino, latte macchiato, or something similar, there's a small surcharge of €0.30 to approximately €1.20. The breakfast selection was very good and had a distinctly Middle Eastern flair. As you can see in the pictures, there was a wide variety of cold cuts and side dishes. The selection was sufficient for vegetarians, but the vegan options could be expanded by one or two more items. The cold cuts consisted of beef and poultry with various toppings. The mint yogurt was particularly delicious. Hot dishes included scrambled eggs with and without sucuk (Turkish sausage), menemen (a type of sausage), chicken bacon, rice, cooked vegetables, a small stew, and the highlight was the salmon in a spinach and leek sauce. For dessert, there were small cakes, various other desserts, a separate vanilla sauce, and a fruit salad. In addition to regular bread, there were also regular and chocolate-filled croissants. Throughout our stay, the staff came by regularly to check if everything was alright. This demonstrates how good and customer-oriented the staff were that day. Overall, the breakfast is highly recommended, especially considering the excellent value for money!

The food was good, but the lamb was a bit dry. The service wasn't attentive. We constantly had to signal to order. For a Greek night, I would have expected more of a Greek atmosphere. There was no Greek menu or typical Greek music. The belly dancer was great, but that's not really Greek to me either. They should work on the concept.

We had a reservation for 8 pm on a weekday, with visitors from abroad. We wanted to relax and have a few drinks, but were very disappointed: neither the fruit nor the cheese platter was available (according to the menu and the waiter, these were only offered from 11 pm on weekends). Small tapas like potatoes, etc., were also unavailable, as these are only offered as part of a set menu. For us, having something to "sink into" our drinks is simply part of the experience. So we left after the first few drinks. The waiter was friendly, but unfortunately, the concept didn't suit us.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. Beautiful location, attentive service, great drinks menu. The food was really good, although I do miss having more vegetarian options on the menu. We had Caesar salad with beef fillet and pasta with shrimp. The appetizer platter looked stunning, but the taste wasn't quite a 10/10. I'd gladly come back again, though, next time with a bit more time to savor the meal.

An absolute delight from start to finish. I was here for lunch and can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. You feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. The ambiance is stylish, tranquil, and yet very inviting. Perfect for taking a short break from everyday life. For my main course, I chose the lamb shank, and it was simply outstanding. Buttery soft, perfectly braised, intensely flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can immediately tell that high-quality ingredients and meticulous attention to detail are used. The side dishes complemented the main course perfectly, and everything was harmoniously balanced. For dessert, I had the chocolate soufflé, and that, too, was a real highlight. Beautifully moist on the outside, wonderfully soft and chocolatey on the inside. Exactly as you would wish. A perfect ending. I would also like to particularly commend the service. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and warm without being intrusive. You truly feel welcome as a guest. The price-performance ratio is absolutely fair and, considering the quality of the food and the entire experience, more than reasonable. I will definitely come back and can recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates good food, a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.

We were a group of five at Scarabae in Bielefeld and were very satisfied overall. Everyone loved the food, the restaurant is modern yet very cozy, and the service was friendly and attentive. However, one negative point we encountered was this: Although our table was officially reserved until 11 pm and we had already paid at 10:30 pm, we were asked to leave shortly afterward because the next guests for that table had already arrived. We found this unprofessional and unpleasant, as we hadn't even exceeded our reservation time. In our opinion, this is definitely an area where improvement is needed. Otherwise, it's a really nice restaurant with very good food.

We went there for breakfast. The selection was very tasty and plentiful. There were even hot dishes, but we didn't order them. More fresh fruit would have been nice. The acoustics were quite poor because there were so many people there. Otherwise, it was really good and we had no complaints.

Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with my visit there. I celebrated my birthday there with nine people. I reserved the table by email and also requested to stay 30 minutes to an hour longer. We were greeted very rudely at the entrance. I showed the receptionist the email I had written, but he wasn't interested at all. The waitress who served us, however, was very keen to let us keep our table a little longer. We even overheard the conversation between the two employees in the hallway. The waitress suggested several ideas to him, but he rejected everything and simply didn't want us to stay. I drove for an hour, paid for food and drinks for nine people, only to be "kicked out" at the end. We would have liked to have cocktails there, but unfortunately, we weren't allowed to. We understand that they plan to make further reservations. However, the fact that I sent an email beforehand and it was simply ignored made the behavior very rude. There was no acknowledgment, no apology, and no attempt to accommodate us in any way. Considering we arrived in such a large group and spent a considerable amount of money, their behavior was incredibly rude. I've never experienced anything like it – being kicked out guests who would have spent even more money.

Unfortunately, we were very dissatisfied with our visit on January 17th. We had reserved a table and inquired in advance via email whether we could stay longer than usual. This was granted, yet we still had to vacate the table at precisely 10:00 PM. The waiter at the entrance claimed he hadn't received the email. When we showed it to him, he continued to insist he hadn't received it. It seemed to us as if it simply hadn't been read or had been ignored; we definitely sent it. Despite this, we were essentially kicked out, weren't allowed to order drinks a second time, and had to vacate the table immediately. Our drink order was only taken once at the very beginning, and then not again. In addition, we had called ahead to ask if we could bring small, homemade cake pops for the birthday child as a surprise. We were told that we would have to pay €25 for them. We found this completely incomprehensible, as we had simply eaten and drunk there and spent money accordingly. It was truly just a small token of appreciation. Despite this, we were essentially thrown out, weren't allowed to order drinks a second time, and had to vacate the table immediately. The waiter was generally very unfriendly and unhelpful. The only positive thing we can say is that the other waitress was very nice. Overall, however, we wouldn't return due to the poor service.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the organization of the New Year's Eve party 2025. My friends and I had bought the €25 tickets for the 1920s-themed party. When we arrived (around 11 pm), the venue was so crowded that we didn't even have the chance to stand anywhere near the side or the bar. We were constantly in the way of the staff and didn't know where to go. It was impossible to enjoy the atmosphere or the entertainment in that state. In our opinion, too many tickets were sold for that evening without seat reservations. We knew we definitely wouldn't get a seat, but just standing in the way and constantly having to dodge people when they wanted to walk past wasn't ideal either. Furthermore, I'd like to point out that I didn't experience any 1920s atmosphere; instead, there were belly dancing performances. We were expecting a completely different program, but instead, we got a Turkish/Greek party. At least ten other people felt the same way, so we left the venue immediately after midnight.

We had an exceptionally enjoyable and memorable New Year's Eve celebration here. Everyone was more than satisfied. Nothing was lacking. Fantastic live acts.

This way, guests who enjoy the disco can stay. The others can go home with a good feeling about this successful New Year's Eve celebration. It was too loud once the disco music started!!! Otherwise, we were able to have a good conversation.

The evening got off to a very bumpy start. I had reserved a table, but there were fewer of us than originally planned. Since I hadn't informed them beforehand (it only became clear on the day of our visit, and I hadn't thought about the reservation email, which contained instructions on how to handle changes), I was met with a very blunt and extremely rude response. That's absolutely unacceptable! It's all about the tone! However, the waitstaff were incredibly nice and friendly. The atmosphere was also good. Some of the drinks weren't worth the price, but they were okay.

Great atmosphere, we felt very comfortable and welcome. We received a wonderful welcome from the moment we arrived. We were also completely satisfied with being moved to a different table, but unfortunately, the newly assigned waitress was no longer attentive. Our order was forgotten three times, and we would have liked to have dessert at the end, but unfortunately, we were ignored even though I asked for a menu. After 40 minutes, we finally asked for the bill. That was just a minor point, though; overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

A wonderful restaurant with stylish yet elegant decor. We were a party of three for dinner midweek. It was moderately busy, so we could easily have a conversation. I can't say whether it's the same on weekends, but it seemed like it could be much busier. :-) We were served by different people, all of whom were very polite and professional. Questions were answered in detail, and they offered excellent recommendations regarding the menu. The food (salmon fillet, burger, and slices of sirloin) was perfect; the cooking time was just right, and the portions were absolutely generous. We felt extremely comfortable, which was also enhanced by the complimentary amuse-bouche and digestif at the end of our meal. We will definitely be back, and we'll bring more (new) guests with us!

The service deserves special mention – the staff is polite, attentive, responds quickly to every request, and is helpful with menu selections. The cuisine deserves particular praise. All the dishes were beautifully and appetizingly presented, and the taste completely met our expectations. The evening was relaxed and enjoyable, and we would gladly return. This restaurant definitely deserves a high rating and a recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food and excellent service.

Fantastic location. The two of us arrived on a Friday evening without a reservation. It was packed, but we were still seated quietly at the bar. Even though we only wanted a drink and didn't want to sit down, we were asked twice if we'd like to move. We found that very thoughtful. All the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere lovely and high-end. I could easily imagine holding a business meeting here. The drinks were excellent. The restrooms were spotless. Everything was very clean. And last but not least, there's a cloakroom. A huge plus, especially with weather like today.

The price-performance ratio is good, taste is subjective, but the four of us really enjoyed everything.

We reserved a table in advance by email, which was no problem at all. We received a very friendly welcome at the restaurant, which was decorated for a Halloween-themed party. I must have missed that when I made the reservation, but it wasn't a big deal. We got a table in the cozy restaurant and placed our order. As a welcome from the kitchen, we were served a delicious pumpkin ginger soup. That gave us a taste of what the evening's culinary offerings would be like. The appetizers and main courses were both excellent. They were very well seasoned and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed it. We couldn't manage dessert because the portions were quite generous. However, we did manage a cappuccino, which was served with a small brownie. We felt that great attention had been paid to the small, elegant details and that everything had been prepared with love. As the icing on the cake, the service was very friendly and the decorations were lovely. In short: delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff... Perfect. We had a wonderful time. Next time, we'll try the breakfast buffet. ... Well-deserved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !

The breakfast is very varied, with something for everyone, and highly recommended. Everything is delicious! It has a touch of southern European cuisine. However, this certainly explains the price of €19.90 per person. So, you should go there with a big appetite to justify the cost! The ambiance is beautifully designed and consistent throughout the entire restaurant, as you can see in the photo. On the downside – drinks at breakfast: The coffee is served in a small cup, which isn't even completely full. Only the tea is adequate. The glass of orange juice is also a bit small; at 0.2 liters, it's just enough for one person. But as a carafe for two people, the amount isn't sufficient for two 0.2-liter glasses! Therefore, I'm deducting one star from the overall rating and for the food! Tip 1: Order a large bottle of water for everyone at breakfast. Tip 2: The sofas by the window are too low for eating. Choose a regular seat with a chair, or sit on one of the available cushions to raise yourself up! Despite this, a positive overall impression, except for the price and quantity of orange juice and coffee: Breakfast is recommended if you're prepared to pay €19.90 (children up to 12 years old pay less) and order extra drinks, which drives the price up even further compared to similar bistros, cafes, or restaurants. A family of four, with additional drinks, will easily pay around €80-90 for breakfast alone. You'd be better off having dinner at a regular pizzeria for less! But as mentioned, the breakfast is varied, everything is there, and it's delicious. The ambiance is really nice, with a view of the Bielefeld outdoor swimming pool. Parking is available at the building or on the street, and you can sit outside in the summer. The staff is very friendly, although the owner can be a bit grumpy at times.
