A very nice place! We were there with a large group during the week and we all left satisfied and very happy. Great service combined with delicious food.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the organization of the New Year's Eve party 2025. My friends and I had bought the €25 tickets for the 1920s-themed party. When we arrived (around 11 pm), the venue was so crowded that we didn't even have the chance to stand anywhere near the side or the bar. We were constantly in the way of the staff and didn't know where to go. It was impossible to enjoy the atmosphere or the entertainment in that state. In our opinion, too many tickets were sold for that evening without seat reservations. We knew we definitely wouldn't get a seat, but just standing in the way and constantly having to dodge people when they wanted to walk past wasn't ideal either. Furthermore, I'd like to point out that I didn't experience any 1920s atmosphere; instead, there were belly dancing performances. We were expecting a completely different program, but instead, we got a Turkish/Greek party. At least ten other people felt the same way, so we left the venue immediately after midnight.

We had an exceptionally enjoyable and memorable New Year's Eve celebration here. Everyone was more than satisfied. Nothing was lacking. Fantastic live acts.

I treated myself to surf and turf. I didn't regret it. It was really delicious and the price was reasonable.

Top marks for that!!! Suggestion for improvement: The menu should end around 10:30 p.m. Dance music with saxophone should be played for the dinner guests. A disco should start at midnight. This way, guests who enjoy the disco can stay. The others can go home with a good feeling about this successful New Year's Eve celebration. It was too loud once the disco music started!!! Otherwise, we were able to have a good conversation.

It was a great meal. The appetizer platter is highly recommended. The lamb was also very good!

Great atmosphere, we felt very comfortable and welcome. We received a wonderful welcome from the moment we arrived. We were also completely satisfied with being moved to a different table, but unfortunately, the newly assigned waitress was no longer attentive. Our order was forgotten three times, and we would have liked to have dessert at the end, but unfortunately, we were ignored even though I asked for a menu. After 40 minutes, we finally asked for the bill. That was just a minor point, though; overall, we were very satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

The evening got off to a very bumpy start. I had reserved a table, but there were fewer of us than originally planned. Since I hadn't informed them beforehand (it only became clear on the day of our visit, and I hadn't thought about the reservation email, which contained instructions on how to handle changes), I was met with a very blunt and extremely rude response. That's absolutely unacceptable! It's all about the tone! However, the waitstaff were incredibly nice and friendly. The atmosphere was also good. Some of the drinks weren't worth the price, but they were okay.

A wonderful restaurant with stylish yet elegant decor. We were a party of three for dinner midweek. It was moderately busy, so we could easily have a conversation. I can't say whether it's the same on weekends, but it seemed like it could be much busier. :-) We were served by different people, all of whom were very polite and professional. Questions were answered in detail, and they offered excellent recommendations regarding the menu. The food (salmon fillet, burger, and slices of sirloin) was perfect; the cooking time was just right, and the portions were absolutely generous. We felt extremely comfortable, which was also enhanced by the complimentary amuse-bouche and digestif at the end of our meal. We will definitely be back, and we'll bring more (new) guests with us!

The fantastic belly dancer deserves special mention; her performance provided top-notch entertainment and created a lively, joyful atmosphere. Overall, there was a very pleasant and vibrant atmosphere that made the evening truly special. We would love to come back again and will definitely recommend Scarabaé.

We recently visited this restaurant (it was a Russian-themed evening) and were very impressed. The warm atmosphere is immediately apparent upon entering: a cozy interior and pleasant lighting. The service deserves special mention – the staff is polite, attentive, responds quickly to every request, and is helpful with menu selections. The cuisine deserves particular praise. All the dishes were beautifully and appetizingly presented, and the taste completely met our expectations. The evening was relaxed and enjoyable, and we would gladly return. This restaurant definitely deserves a high rating and a recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food and excellent service.

Fantastic location. The two of us arrived on a Friday evening without a reservation. It was packed, but we were still seated quietly at the bar. Even though we only wanted a drink and didn't want to sit down, we were asked twice if we'd like to move. We found that very thoughtful. All the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere lovely and high-end. I could easily imagine holding a business meeting here. The drinks were excellent. The restrooms were spotless. Everything was very clean. And last but not least, there's a cloakroom. A huge plus, especially with weather like today.

The price-performance ratio is good, taste is subjective, but the four of us really enjoyed everything.

We were there for breakfast on Sunday with four people: large brunch buffet, selection of rolls, everything very tasty! Plenty for vegetarians too.

The breakfast buffet offered a very wide selection, and items were constantly being replenished. However, there was no bin for waste on the table. Unfortunately, it was very noisy.

Great location! Super friendly staff! Excellent belly dancer! Fantastic atmosphere! We'll definitely be back. I'd only deduct 0.01 points for the food because the burger buns were a bit too hard. We're looking forward to next time.

We were there for breakfast shortly after Halloween. The whole restaurant had fantastic decorations; it was really fun. Breakfast was excellent again 👍 They added even more items, everything was fresh, and they kept replenishing it. The selection of egg dishes was particularly noteworthy, but of course, there was also a continental breakfast with rolls, simit, filled puff pastry rings, and many other delicious treats, plus dessert 😉 We'll definitely be back.

The breakfast is very varied, with something for everyone, and highly recommended. Everything is delicious! It has a touch of southern European cuisine. However, this certainly explains the price of €19.90 per person. So, you should go there with a big appetite to justify the cost! The ambiance is beautifully designed and consistent throughout the entire restaurant, as you can see in the photo. On the downside – drinks at breakfast: The coffee is served in a small cup, which isn't even completely full. Only the tea is adequate. The glass of orange juice is also a bit small; at 0.2 liters, it's just enough for one person. But as a carafe for two people, the amount isn't sufficient for two 0.2-liter glasses! Therefore, I'm deducting one star from the overall rating and for the food! Tip 1: Order a large bottle of water for everyone at breakfast. Tip 2: The sofas by the window are too low for eating. Choose a regular seat with a chair, or sit on one of the available cushions to raise yourself up! Despite this, a positive overall impression, except for the price and quantity of orange juice and coffee: Breakfast is recommended if you're prepared to pay €19.90 (children up to 12 years old pay less) and order extra drinks, which drives the price up even further compared to similar bistros, cafes, or restaurants. A family of four, with additional drinks, will easily pay around €80-90 for breakfast alone. You'd be better off having dinner at a regular pizzeria for less! But as mentioned, the breakfast is varied, everything is there, and it's delicious. The ambiance is really nice, with a view of the Bielefeld outdoor swimming pool. Parking is available at the building or on the street, and you can sit outside in the summer. The staff is very friendly, although the owner can be a bit grumpy at times.

We reserved a table in advance by email, which was no problem at all. We received a very friendly welcome at the restaurant, which was decorated for a Halloween-themed party. I must have missed that when I made the reservation, but it wasn't a big deal. We got a table in the cozy restaurant and placed our order. As a welcome from the kitchen, we were served a delicious pumpkin ginger soup. That gave us a taste of what the evening's culinary offerings would be like. The appetizers and main courses were both excellent. They were very well seasoned and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed it. We couldn't manage dessert because the portions were quite generous. However, we did manage a cappuccino, which was served with a small brownie. We felt that great attention had been paid to the small, elegant details and that everything had been prepared with love. As the icing on the cake, the service was very friendly and the decorations were lovely. In short: delicious food, great atmosphere, friendly staff... Perfect. We had a wonderful time. Next time, we'll try the breakfast buffet. ... Well-deserved ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ !

We visited Scarabaé today. I had no idea such a gem existed on Bleichstraße. The ambiance is elegant yet cozy. The food is exceptionally good. The service is very attentive and friendly, but not intrusive. Overall, a successful evening. We would definitely come back, either for dinner or just for a cocktail. We went there for breakfast. Despite not having a reservation, we were seated. Thank you for that. However, after being seated, we had to wait over half an hour for the waitress to order drinks. In the meantime, I went to the buffet because I was starting to feel uncomfortably hungry. The buffet was fine. Unfortunately, the dips weren't refrigerated, which made my stomach rumble, especially with yogurt and other items. The price was reasonable, as they offered juice and a choice of tea or coffee. We wanted to try a soda, but had to pass on it due to the slow service. They really didn't have enough staff for a Sunday. We probably wouldn't come back again.

Always a nice breakfast experience

We had breakfast. The food was okay. There should have been something for every taste. For the leaf salad, they could have offered tongs instead of a tablespoon, which would have made the large leaves fall straight back into the bowl. The ambiance is beautiful, but the place could be cleaned up a bit better. Opening time was 10 a.m. We were the first at the table, and yet there were crumbs all over the seats that we had to clean up afterward. I preferred going home to use the bathroom. The staff was very friendly, but they could have pointed out that the chocolate drink with the hot drinks comes at an extra charge. A separate list for breakfast might have been helpful here. Unfortunately, we had to actively ask if the table could be cleared. We would have liked to order something else to drink, but unfortunately, hardly anyone walked past us, and even if they did, eye contact was impossible. We had to get up to pay, otherwise we probably would have stayed for lunch. Overall, breakfast was okay, the staff were friendly but scarce, and the cleanliness could be improved. Overall, nothing that would make us say we'll be back.

A very nice restaurant, a recent discovery for me in Bielefeld. Very tasty food, perhaps a bit overpriced. But very nicely decorated and modern. The service was very friendly.

Everything went smoothly – attentive service that made you feel welcome immediately upon arrival. There were 16 of us. The food was delicious, although the portions could have been a bit larger. Otherwise, we have absolutely no complaints. We'd be happy to come back! We'd definitely recommend it.

A nice restaurant in itself, but they have the breakfast buffet until 2:30 pm which I hadn't seen before (but it says so on the website). We then had breakfast there, but there wasn't such a large selection at 1:30 pm and paying €40 for breakfast for 2 people is a bit much, but there is a nice atmosphere and the staff were very friendly.

The buffet truly leaves nothing to be desired: three different types of scrambled eggs, delicious antipasti, a fantastic selection of fresh rolls and breads, cigar börek, and desserts in jars, all lovingly prepared. The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, simply perfect for enjoying and lingering. A small suggestion for improvement: The cereal table could use a little more attention: for example, jam in small jars or a more appealing presentation like the rest of the buffet. That would elevate the overall experience, and it would be 12 out of 10 points, not just 10!

I was here when a concert was taking place in the nearby Ravensberger Park. Unfortunately, almost all the parking spaces were full of concertgoers. The Scarabaé has a modern look. A thoughtful design and comfortable seating make for an enjoyable evening. Outside, you can sit comfortably under the large umbrellas even in light rain or strong sun. The staff was super attentive, friendly, and quick. I had a homemade lemonade, which was a bit too sweet for me. For my starter, I had bruschetta; unfortunately, they served flatbread instead of the usual baguette. But due to the good seasoning, this was only a minor flaw. For my main course, I had surf 'n turf: a beef fillet with prawns and rosemary potatoes. I ordered the fillet medium rare. It came medium, but very tender. The prawns were cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. Unfortunately, some of the rosemary potatoes were too tough. I was given a steak knife and salt and pepper upon request. All forgivable and overall still very tasty. The portion size was very small for the price of €36. I would come again, especially because the ambiance and excellent service rounded off the evening.

My wife and I went to Scarabaé for brunch today for the first time. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a lovely, spacious outdoor area with a view of the beautiful Bielefeld Wiesenbad swimming pool. We will definitely be back, and this time we'll bring friends or family.

We were here for breakfast for the first time today. A very extensive oriental buffet. Highly recommended. We'd be happy to come again.

At the "big breakfast buffet" (on Sundays), there's truly something for everyone, something your heart and stomach desire – of the highest quality and constantly refilled. The staff is friendly, and the ambiance invites you to linger. We can recommend the Scarabaé without hesitation. While some people may find the "cost per person" too high, it's understandable, but all in all, the price is absolutely justified: Please consider the costs incurred by the Scarabaé before anything is even on the table for guests. In this sense, the prices are sometimes even calculated so rigidly that there's hardly any reasonable "profit" left over. Therefore, it's perfectly fine if you have to pay extra for "additional" drinks because "the ones included in the price" aren't enough. (If you still have to explain that to someone these days, the best I can recommend is a fourth-rate chip shop that doesn't even have napkins to soak up the four-week-old frying oil from the cardboard tray. The Scarabaé is a stylish restaurant, not a "cheap dump"!) By the way: Anyone who only gives this a "1-star" rating because something wasn't OK with the food should urgently work on their communication skills, because if that's really the case, you should immediately speak to the staff about it and give the kitchen a chance to improve immediately! Anything else is ridiculous, especially if you've finished your order in a flash - and still make ANONYMOUS "derogatory" comments afterwards... ;-) Addendum: We tried the new "lunch menu"... The food and the super-friendly service are incomparably GOOD for the price!
