I worked in Portugal for around 1.75 years and am always happy to be able to indulge in culinary memories here at Sagres. Although I only come to Cuxhaven once or twice a year, the boss greets me like a friend of the house. Otherwise, the service could be a little more attentive, but I like to take the "Hausfreund" card and go straight to the counter...which isn't always a good thing because DELICIOUS pasteis are waiting there. Portuguese desserts are incredibly delicious...and full of delicious calories. I would love to come back.

Such a great restaurant. Today was our first time in a Portuguese restaurant and I have rarely eaten as well as we did here. Everything is so authentic. The service is great and absolutely accommodating. The food was great and the wine was also an absolute recommendation. It was a great evening all around! Thanks for that.

The best Portuguese restaurant in Cuxhaven. Clean, tasty, friendly. Everything done right. But you should be a fish and meat eater, vegetarians are unfortunately out of place.

I invited my wife over for her birthday dinner in the evening and it was absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly and the restaurant is nicely decorated. We'll be back!

Family-run restaurant with delicious Portuguese dishes. I had the beef fillet on the hot stone and found it delicious. Very attentive friendly service. Atmosphere is still a bit cool, but that's definitely coming - we've probably just moved in.

We ate at the Sagres Restaurant on Steinmarner Strasse for the first time today and were very impressed, so much so that we are planning our next visit soon. The stockfish (Bacalhau) baked in the oven with potato cubes, egg, onion strips, olives and parsley was particularly tasty. 😋

The food is very tasty, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is somewhat Portuguese. We go back to Sagres regularly.

The food is typically Portuguese and tastes simply delicious. The tapas plate is highly recommended as a starter. Everything is freshly prepared. Definitely reserve in advance. Fish platters are available in “grilled” or “fried” versions, both great!

Unfortunately we were only there on the last evening of our vacation. It was an unforgettable tasting experience. Simply so delicious 😋 Nicely garnished. Very nice staff. The rooms with Portuguese flair. All in all, really recommended. Unfortunately Cuxhaven and Stuttgart/Winnenden are too far away. Otherwise we would go there more often and feast.

Great service!!! We had reserved for later, much of the menu was already gone (i.e. all three favorites). The waitress (boss) came to the table, explained and helped with the selection based on described taste preferences! A small farewell sip as a “sorry” and a lot of good mood. We'd love to come back!

The food was very tasty, well seasoned and plentiful. There was also a nice wine. The service was also super nice. Sagres is a good restaurant that can be recommended to everyone.

Today we spontaneously went to the Portuguese Restaurant Sagres for lunch. We had redfish, pollack and steak with sides and a starter soup. The dishes were superbly prepared and left nothing to be desired. For dessert there was espresso, cappuccino and a scoop of ice cream. What more do you want. Finally, a conversation with the landlady, who is simply personable and authentic. Another holiday highlight Kind regards, Bahemann family

The four of us were there on June 21, 2024 in the evening from 6 p.m. and enjoyed ourselves until after 9 p.m. The other two chose a land and sea platter for 2 people and were totally thrilled. Everything on the platter: squid tubes, prawns, beef fillet, pork fillet and chorizo ​​was super tasty and well seasoned! The combination with pineapple, salad and side dishes was really tasty. We both decided on a house-style grilled platter with beef, pork, chorizzo, super tasty baked fries and also pineapple with a small salad! Everything was very tasty and the portions were large! The service was very nice, the atmosphere was great! The sanitary facilities were also very clean! So a must for every visit to Cuxhaven!

Nothing unusual in terms of taste. The fish was good, but not a taste explosion. But it may not be possible to get it out of the stockfish. The staff is very hardworking and sociable. The toilets are clean.

We had Portuguese food for the first time. 4 people between 50 and 80 years old were all very enthusiastic about everything. Price performance top. The Land and Sea Platter for 2 people was fantastic. The meat grill plate was great. Definitely again 👍🏼

We hadn't expected there to be a free seat, so we were even more pleased that we were able to get a table without a reservation. A stylish, cozy and family-run restaurant. The food was excellent, good portions and everything was fresh. Highly recommended the Portuguese almond liqueur. Never eaten Portuguese and were not disappointed. Attentive hosts. Can only recommend!

We went here for dinner as a family and it was a complete success. The staff was attentive and very friendly and the food was all really good, compliments! Only the iced chocolate for dessert wasn't convincing. Apparently the cocoa had run out so they simply mixed milk with chocolate sauce. It would have been better to simply describe the situation honestly. Otherwise it's really outstanding, we'll be happy to come back on our next visit to Cuxhaven!

A great Portuguese restaurant with friendly staff and good value for money. Every time we visit Cuxhaven, we can expect a delicious dinner with tender meat and fresh fish. We were at Sagres for lunch and each chose a dish from the lunch menu. The small lunch meal was preceded by a delicious vegetable soup. An expresso afterwards. We were very reminded of our beautiful trip through Portugal.

I will definitely come back We were traveling with a larger group and got a place in the next room, which we thought was great! The best thing is that we weren't forgotten, but the service team was consistently attentive, even though the restaurant was very busy on a Wednesday. Nice Portuguese restaurant with a very pleasant atmosphere. It's definitely worth reserving a table in advance. For dessert there was spaghetti ice cream. Since there was no longer enough vanilla in stock, we were offered an alternative with strawberry ice cream. Very tasty, I might try it more often in the future ;-)

The food is very good and fresh. The service is also really extremely friendly. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for the food, but as we were told there was no other way, but the food was even better. It was a bit loud and crowded, but it didn't bother me. In my opinion the price is a little higher but still okay. Another small point of criticism: the portions could be a little larger.

The fish (pollock fillet) is really good and beautifully prepared. Unfortunately, one of two vegetarian options is quite the opposite: a pile of grilled vegetables, stacked rather than plated, with no dip or sauce. However, the service is really great and the staff is very nice. About the ambience: When you look into the room, it looks really nice and it is wonderfully decorated. Unfortunately, if you look towards the windows, it looks more like an uncomfortable winter garden.

Thank you very much for the repeated entertaining stay in Portugal. My Balcalhau was almost as good as my mother-in-law's 😉 (... I'm not just saying that, it's really very tasty 😋). Together with the Vinho Verde I felt (without a wife) culinary in the country of my great love (wife). It's nice that there are restaurants that offer authentic cuisine from their homeland. Unfortunately, I'm not from here, but I can highly recommend a similarly entertaining stay at Sagres to anyone who is open to culinary delights. But be careful, the fish may still have bones.
