Restaurant Fischer-Treff in Cuxhaven

For the past eight years (since opening), we've been regular guests at the Fischertreff restaurant. Momo and his team offer first-class, fresh fish dishes of consistently high quality. The price-performance ratio is truly outstanding compared to many competitors in the area (and there are plenty). Whether it's the shrimp pan, fish stew, squid skewers, sailor's platter, mussels, or the platter for several people (and much more), we've never been disappointed and are happy to travel up to 100 km to enjoy it. Important: Remember to make a reservation!

A very nice and honest little fish restaurant, very tasty and everything freshly prepared. The selection is convincing and tastes very good, and the prices are reasonable. Parking is right in front of the entrance, a bit tight for people with disabilities. The restrooms are also not that easy to reach; the stairs are quite difficult, but they are very clean... so be sure to pee first.

We were there on September 10, 2025. The redfish and pollock fillets were delicious, cooked to perfection, and delicately seasoned. Excellent. The fish cutlery was served with side dishes in separate bowls. We were well-fed. Friendly service. A clean, comfortable restaurant.

Today, my wife and I had dinner with her, despite her difficulties. I called 10 minutes before the visit and we were able to come right over. My mother-in-law, who is in a wheelchair, needed to use the restroom first; we were immediately given a key to the accessible restroom without asking. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We all enjoyed the food. The shakshuka was super aromatic and flavorful. The majestic fish was beautifully tender and mild. The fish fillets were juicy and perfectly prepared. The fried potatoes are also highly recommended; they were nicely crispy, golden brown, and not too greasy, which isn't something to be taken for granted. We'll definitely be back on our next vacation.

We often go out for fish and enjoy it. We've rarely had such a good fish platter! Next time we're in Cuxhaven, we'll be back! Other fish restaurants in the area, on the other hand, were unfortunately rather disappointing, and we won't be back! Please maintain the quality of the food.

We were there today on our last day of vacation. We made a reservation in the morning, no problems. We also had the option of sitting inside or outside. We opted for the appetizer plate for two and the Mediterranean fish plate for the main course. Both were beautifully presented, very tasty, and the portions were very generous. The waiters and the chef were always attentive and friendly. Even a quick chat with the chef was included. We're definitely coming back the next time we're here!

We've rarely eaten fish so well-prepared. Afterwards, we were annoyed that we hadn't discovered Momo's sooner, as we visit Cuxhaven at least once a year. So, thanks to Momo and his team; we'll be back next year... 🥳

People were already queuing up when the restaurant opened. Now we know why. Not Michelin-starred cuisine, but fish, honest and simply delicious.

How lucky that we didn't pass by and even managed to get a table! Fresh fish is available almost everywhere in the harbor, but the sophisticated preparation was also simply first-class. For example, we couldn't imagine the cod baked with Parmesan, but it was a dream: a wonderfully subtle Parmesan foam was lightly browned, lightly souffléd on the perfectly cooked, hot fish on preheated plates. Simply perfect. They've got it! The chef didn't reveal how he managed the baking without overcooking the fish. I tried it at home with a small Bunsen burner, and it almost worked 👍🏻 The dishes at the neighboring tables also looked completely different from the usual "tourist plates" and received a lot of praise. There wasn't a lemon on the plate either, instead you have to pay extra for the sauces. It took an extremely long time for the food to be brought because the owner is only interested in making money 👏 If you read through the critical reviews here, you can see that the negative reviews are truthful. I would rather ask myself why you seem so unsympathetic to certain visitors, but I'll probably say another stupid thing 😉

We visited Momo in February and all we can say is that it is our new favorite when it comes to fish. The quaint, small restaurant invites you to linger. Momo is friendly and helpful when choosing dishes. He advises with very good specialist knowledge. There is also a little story from his homeland. The menu is extensive, as are the dishes on the plate. The kitchen conjures up wonderful dishes. We were extremely satisfied and will definitely come back to Momo on our next February vacation!

Very long waiting time without any bread being served. It was only moderately attended, but 30 minutes is too long. The matjes was piled high with thickly sliced ​​½ onion rings. The apple cream sauce was mayonnaise (not handmade) with a few pieces of apple and cucumber. An absolute imposition. My husband's fish fillet platter was 4 fish fillets, served dry. Without dip, sauce or a piece of lemon. The side dish for both dishes, fried potatoes, was quite ok. Could have been crispy Including 2 drinks €49 - not recommended.

You absolutely shouldn't keep this insider tip to yourself. Today we were able to get to know Momo and his fishing club. We left the Fischer-Treff filled with absolutely delicious fish in our stomachs and lots of happiness in our hearts and are already looking forward to our next visit in the summer to Cuxhaven and especially to Momo. Give Momo a smile and he will give you his heart and soul.
