The food was very tasty and of good quality. However, it is a small buffet and not a large one, which you might know from Chinese buffets. In addition, the atmosphere is nice and cozy.

It was delicious and I would love to come back. In some cases the portions could be a little larger.

Overall it was a good experience. We didn't have a reservation, but we were still able to get a spot right away. The drinks during happy hour were rather small in portions. The lamb masala was delicious, and the mixed platter my friend ordered was also good - it didn't look huge, but it was perfectly adequate. The ventilation in the restaurant could be better, there was a slight smell of oil in the air. When a main course was served on a hot plate at the next table, the smell of smoke became even more intense. The service was friendly and fine.

Was really bad experience! They were not welcoming at all, After 40 minutes from our order, they brought some other food and said “we dont have what you order eat what ever we bring you!!!” Just wasting of time to go to this low level resturant!

I picked up lamb tikka to take away. The taste was good but for 18€ you would expect more than 5 pieces of meat (2x2cm) and a bit of rice. That comes to €3 per relatively small piece of meat... Price performance is not right at all and that's why I won't be coming back. It's a shame because the taste was good and I live close by.

Was there at this place today. The food was great but the hospitality at this place needs some improvement. An old Pakistani waiter with glasses behaved rudely and made racist comments. He constantly spoke in Hindi, even though we respectfully pointed out that we didn't speak the language. He kept making mean comments when he came to our table. His behavior made us feel unwelcome. I would like to visit this place again for food but I'm hesitant because of him.

The place is great for food and drinks. The service was not good, especially the old Pakistani Specswala was irritating, the language was racist and also showed his pride, damn Hindi skills especially towards Indians but showed great hospitality and service to German people, that's not how it works in every restaurant. He was a real pain in the ass for everyone and we hated it. I don't know who the manager is, but whoever works in a higher position than him, please throw this bastard away so that many will come and your business will be good.

Hier ist eine positive Bewertung auf Deutsch: Tolles indisches Restaurant in Bremen! Wir waren zu zweit im Restaurant Safran und hatten einen wunderbaren Abend. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr angenehm, mit schönem indischen Flair und passender Musik. Das Restaurant ist groß und in verschiedene Bereiche unterteilt, was für eine gemütliche Stimmung sorgt. Das Essen war einfach köstlich! Wir haben beide Fleischgerichte und einen Dessert bestellt – alles war frisch, aromatisch und perfekt gewürzt. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist ebenfalls super: Für zwei Personen haben wir nur 46 Euro bezahlt. Der Service war zudem schnell und freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

It doesn't take a long review: Great food, large selection - also vegan, nice staff and nice ambience. Experienced it there several times, so it's not a random snapshot. Prices surprisingly cheap for the quality offered.

The Safran Bremen restaurant is a very nice establishment with a great ambience and delicious, flavorful food! Very nice and fast service. Anyone who likes Indian food must go here! We were very satisfied with every visit! Great recommendation, even for vegetarians! 10/10

The food in the restaurant is mostly good and very tasty, with authentic flavors that really impress. But unfortunately the disastrous service significantly mars the entire experience - and this is not a unique experience. The service is consistently poor and no effort appears to be being made to change it. They consistently stick to inattentive and incompetent service staff, which is simply disappointing. The staff seems indifferent and uninterested. No eye contact is made; you actually have to make an effort to even be noticed. Even simple requests such as ordering more rice or bread, which is fortunately free, become a test of patience. Particularly annoying: You wait forever for someone to come by, while the staff prefer to stand around inside, sorting cutlery or doing other unnecessary things instead of taking care of the guests. The female waitress is particularly negative, as she is consistently unfriendly and incompetent. Drinks are regularly forgotten, which is not a one-off problem, but rather part of the norm. Example: We were sitting outside on a hot summer day with several other guests, all of whom were visibly annoyed. The staff completely ignored us and after over 30 minutes I had to go in myself to reorder something. Instead, the staff relaxed quietly inside while the guests waited outside. No eye contact was made and even simple requests were ignored - completely unprofessional. A big problem is reordering rice and bread, which are free but not offered on their own. These side dishes in particular are essential for the main courses, but you don't want to let your food get cold while you wait forever for someone to take care of it. It would make sense to keep an eye on this, but here too there is a lack of attention. At the end, the boss also showed little effort. When paying, he didn't even ask if everything was OK, he just wanted to know "how much to put in" - an indirect request for a tip that is completely out of place given this disastrous quality of service. TLDR: The food is delicious, but the service is consistently unreasonable. The staff is unfriendly, inattentive and overwhelmed, and the management seems to have no interest in improving anything. If you value good service, you should avoid this restaurant - a visit is only worth it for the food if you have extreme patience.

We took part in the Christmas buffet in the evening and really enjoyed it. The food was very tasty, the buffet was refilled very quickly and the service and owner always had a funny saying. In addition, the drinks prices are very moderate and there is also a large selection. I tried a chicken dish, very tasty and accompanied by excellent rice and naan bread. The dishes are not as spicy as the originals, but they are certainly more enjoyable for newcomers to Indian cuisine.

I went to this restaurant twice and now I have my new favorite drink: Mango lassi! We went for sunday buffet, the food was really good. If you like spicy food, than try their green sauce. Staff and the owner are very nice.

Food was mediocre. The lamb did not taste like lamb and had most likely been replaced with another type of meat. Owner was very pushy and did everything he could to get a tip.

Great food for this price. They also include Naan and rice both together with the gravy. But the old pakistani guy is blabbering too much and speaking nonsense in front of us(especially Indians). I think he is the owner or manager. Please stay away from him if possible. He is way too friendly. Food and the price is the thing I would go for once again. I think they make the best affordable indian food in bremen,at least from what I have tried in bremen. The atmosphere and sitting area outside has its own vibe, too. Other waiter and waitress are really good, and they are well behaved ob regular basis bit this old guy does not know what hospitality means. We had kadhai panner, navratna Curry, and malai kofta. Kadhai paneer was really good. Also pakoras were good, Lassi too.

Nice service. Soltani grill plate, chicken grill plate and chicken with rice ordered: - Chicken wasn't cooked enough, - Chicken from the grill seemed and tasted pungent in the mouth; Signs that the meat is old/not fresh..., - Soltani left. At the end a large sum was requested without an invoice!!! Get 3 invoices as desired!? Payment can only be made in cash!

Had very good tikka masala. In summer you can sit outside comfortably and relaxed. The boss is an entertaining, stable and talkative grenade who should actually be a chancellor rather than a restaurateur. A lot of people won't like what he has to say, but the realists among us will celebrate him. Will definitely come back

Sorry, aber ich muss das jetzt mal schreiben. Wir haben im Safran seit Jahren - auch nach dem Betreiberwechsel (den jemand hinsichtlich des neuen Chefs - "...bis morgen ..." schon treffend charakterisiert hat) immer hervorragend gegessen. Tolle Gewürzvielfalt bei allen Gerichten. Nun scheint da jemand anderes, wenn auch evtl. nur aushilfsweise, an den Töpfen zu stehen. Wir waren dermaßen enttäuscht (alles schmeckt gleich grausam geschmacklos - was wir auch deutlich gesagt haben!), dass wir den Laden meiden werden, bis jemand eine Kritik schreibt, dass alles wieder beim Alten ist - was die Grwürz- und Geschmacksvielfalt betrifft.

We were in the restaurant yesterday wanting to have a nice meal, unfortunately we didn't have a reservation! We were assured that there was no table available except the one right at the counter in the entrance area (uncomfortable). We accepted the table! 15 minutes later, several tables were suddenly available without reservations! I just thought, kidding! The food is delicious but the service is not good at all. There wasn't even a snap where we talked about it!

Flavor explosions in a cozy atmosphere My experience at the Indian restaurant Safran in Bremen was a mixture of patience and enjoyment. Although the store wasn't crowded, we waited a little longer than expected for our food. The drinks were also a long time coming, making our thirst an epic adventure. After repeated requests, they were finally served - a bit like an oasis in the desert. But then the food came and everything was forgotten. The flavors literally exploded on our tongues, a wild variation of spices that took our taste buds on a journey to India. Every bite was a revelation, every flavor a discovery. Despite the initial wait, I highly recommend Safran, especially for those who are willing to take their time and discover the real India in the heart of Bremen. And yes, the beer was excellent too – the perfect accompaniment to an unforgettable culinary experience.

Service is bad to the point of not working anymore! Our reservation was simply not taken and forgotten. Then we go to the store where 2 people work! Sat for 20 minutes and they didn't even give us tickets! After 20 minutes we got up and left! Never again

We were here on December 25th, 2023 in the evening with a group of 9 people. There was a buffet. It was continually replenished and replenished. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Abend um Restaurant Safran. Die Speisen waren köstlich und wunderbar zubereitet. Mein Lamm in Koriander-Jogurt Sauce war der Hammer. Dazu eine freundliche Bedienung, toller Service und faire Preise. Danke für diesen schönen Abend, wir kommen "morgen" wieder (oder zumindest so bald wie möglich!).

Ottimo ristorante. Ci vado molto spesso e trovo sempre ottimo cibo, servizio ospitale e ambiente molto bello. Consigliatissimo.

Ein sehr süßes Restaurant mit sehr aufmerksamen Personal und warmer Atmosphäre. Das Essen war super lecker und authentisch. Der Chef ist ein sehr sympathischer Mann, der zu jedem der Gäste an den Tisch kam und persönlich gefragt hat wie es einem schmeckt und sich auch länger mit ihnen unterhalten. Wir waren zu zweit dort, kommen auf jeden Fall nochmal und empfehlen es definitiv weiter! :)

Das Essen ist konsistent gut, aber der Service ist manchmal ein bisschen chaotisch. Wenn man vorher anruft um sicherzugehen, dass es Platz für zwei gibt und man als Antwort erhält, man soll einfach vorbeikommen. Nur um dann zu hören, dass alle Tische reserviert sind, aber die eine Reservierung zu spät ist und man den Tisch haben darf, dann macht das nicht den besten Eindruck.

Ich habe in Bremen so ziemlich jedes Indische Restaurant besucht und muss sagen dass das Safran mit Abstand die beste Küche das beste Ambiente und den freundlichen Service hat! Ich habe mich dort sehr wohlgefühlt ( schon fast familiär ). Ich kann es wirklich nur weiter empfehlen.

Wir essen seit Jahren das selbe dort. Immer war es lecker. Mit einem Mal waren da aber andere Sachen drinne, es war süßlich und anscheinend hat sich einfach die Rezeptur geändert (nach unserem Geschmack) was uns jedoch vermeint wurde. Essen schmeckt leider einfach nicht mehr. Schade!

Vor allem der Schnack zwischendurch mit dem Inhaber des Restaurants machen das kulinarische Erlebnis in diesem Restaurant zu etwas Besonderem :) so ein herzlich guter Mensch! Als Gast hat man das Gefühl, hier sehr willkommen zu sein. Ich kann dieses Restaurant einwandfrei weiterempfehlen.

Wir haben ein sehr schönes Mittagessen gehabt, die Speisen waren sehr lecker und für Vegetarier war eine super Auswahl vorhanden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. 😊

Worst service I have experienced. We were made to wait outside and told that it would be 40 minutes before we would be attended to. After we planned to leave, we were finally offered a table. Once we were inside, the main waiter was very condescending towards us and slow in taking our orders. One of our party was abused in Hindi for requesting if he could play music. Then, we were told we were not allowed to carry our own water bottle into the restaurant. The food itself is ok. However, I would recommend eating somewhere else, especially if you are an Indian yourself.

We arrived for dinner after 8 pm & asked the owner for a table inside the restaurant. He told us that it was full and to go sit outside. Although there was sufficient place inside to adjust us. We asked him for the menu, he told us to wait 40 minutes after 40 minutes he brought us inside, and then again we had to wait 1 and a half hours for the food. He was extremely rude and condescending while he addressed us & gave us unnecessary lectures. The food was not up to par.

Pretentious Owner, the Food was very poorly done. The prices on the menu didnt match with the price at the end. Also on the card it said that biryani rice would be served which wasnt done. The Cay was lukewarm at best.

Waren zum 1. Mal dort essen. Sehr leckeres Essen mit frischen Zutaten. Umfangreiche Speisekarte. Wir hatten die Thalys, die verschiedenen Kleinigkeiten waren sehr schmackhaft. Der Wirt ist sehr freundlich und hat oft gefragt, ob wir zufrieden sind. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.
