We had the buffet on a Sunday. From the reservation to the payment, everything was characterized by friendliness and attentiveness. The ambiance made us forget the dreary weather, and a cozy atmosphere enveloped us. The buffet (all-you-can-eat) offered something for everyone. The dishes were clearly labeled and perfectly suited my taste. It ranged from appetizers to perfectly seasoned main courses and a delicious dessert. The price was at least reasonable for what was offered... I had expected a higher bill on my first visit. I will definitely come back and am already looking forward to my next visit.

I spent a week's vacation in Bremen and was overall very satisfied. I was particularly impressed by the Indian restaurant Maharani. The ambiance was excellent, the food was superb, and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. On my first visit, there was a small mistake with my chai tea, as they forgot the herbs. However, this was more than made up for on my second visit: The staff apologized profusely and offered me either a refund or the tea free of charge. In the end, I received it for free, and it was truly delicious. The food was also consistently fantastic, and the service was always friendly and attentive. All in all, my first visit to Bremen was a complete success, and I will definitely eat at Maharani again on my next visit!

The Maharani completely won me over. Maharani restaurant really delivers on both taste and quality. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. I tried the paneer tikka— it was delicious. While not the absolute best I’ve ever had, I still enjoyed it thoroughly. I’d definitely recommend this place!

I've never written a review before, but this one has to go. Can I recommend this place? Definitely. We were here for the trade fair (September 17, 2025). Everything was great. I was pleasantly surprised. The whiskey selection was exceptional. The ambiance was grand, oriental, Indian. Pure comfort factor. Really good.

Lovely quality food. Spice levels were definitely adjusted to fit the local standards, but the complexity of spices that I could taste within my madras, were very good. We had a friend in a wheelchair with us and the extra doors to allow entrance were immediately opened up (also take into account 2 steps up, which for us, wasn't a problem). We were also on a 1 hour time limit, which was no problem and it is nice that you can pay by card. Lovely atmosphere inside and attentive waiters, who also speak English.

We were there for the Sunday buffet. The selection was limited but OK. The food was unfortunately not worth the money. The worst part was the soup. It was watered down and inedible. My companion didn't like any of the dishes. I at least enjoyed a few of them. Even though we were there right at 12 o'clock, the food seemed to have been sitting there for a while. The baked/fried vegetables were soft and cold, and some of the potato pieces weren't even cooked. The salad had already absorbed a lot of water. The pieces of the meat and vegetable dishes were much too large. The ambiance is excellent and the service is good.

Four of us went to Maharani for dinner on Friday evening. An incredibly friendly, witty team welcomed us. The food was absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere was wonderful. Food was worse for me as I am vegetarian. Rice was from morning like cold and easily figured it out. Palak paneer is cold and does not taste well because of yesterday's gravy stored and used. Dall was not smelling but got sticky ness which is not purely cooked as it was also cold. Lassi was good but not full fill up the glass. Worth it. Naan was also really nice just garlic naan was not fat. My birthday friends enjoyed it. So overall thanks as few are non-veg.

I've been here a few times. The food is delicious. Comfortably furnished. Friendly staff. I highly recommend it. I was at the Maharani again on July 10, 2025. There were eight of us, and everyone was very satisfied. I like the ambiance, and the food was delicious again. The waiters were, as always, very friendly and helpful. The same goes for the very pleasant waitress.

Reservations are recommended. Although we were able to eat there without a reservation, some guests were told to come back later due to a lack of space. All the dishes were delicious. The grilled chicken was juicy and tender. The curries were excellent. The mango lassi is definitely worth a try. The staff was excellent. Even though the restaurant was full, we were able to order our dishes with a friendly reminder from the waiter, and we were asked several times if everything was okay. If we travel to Bremen again, we will definitely visit the restaurant again.

Why is a visit here worthwhile? Firstly, you receive a friendly welcome on the phone. Then, when asked if dogs are allowed, you get a friendly, yes-like answer. In the restaurant, everyone is greeted very warmly and shown to their table; there are even special areas for customers with dogs. When ordering at the table, every member of staff is super friendly and responds extremely quickly. So, as a greeting from the kitchen, you also get something delicious to whet your appetite. The dishes arrive fresh, smell wonderful, and are visually a colorful display full of delicious food. Drinks are brought quickly, and special requests are met with advice and prompt service. At the end, we had a pleasant chat with the owner, and if we're in the area again, we'll definitely come back. 5 stars to all of them, which we're happy to give. Best regards

Was at the buffet on Sunday. Very friendly service, pleasant Indian, quiet atmosphere with a seating area. But mostly on chairs. Contemplative selection, but if you like mango and spicy, there is something for you. Although the selection is small, I feel like it's enough. Instead of rice there is bread or potatoes. Instead of lamb there is something vegetarian or chicken. But salad is also possible. Felt high quality and home cooked. The only thing that bothers me, hence the deduction, is the large mirrors on the wall. Can of course come to Indian culture. Irritating for me. Priced at 30 including a drink, normal and fair

The food was tasty, even if it was too mild for me personally. The atmosphere is a bit dark but visually nice. The service left a lot to be desired. Ordered drinks twice and didn't get them delivered, then ordered the bill - there were no drinks on it. My recommendation is to assign fixed tables to the service staff so that dozens of different service staff don't serve one table and everything gets lost.

We were in Bremen for a concert. When we arrived we looked for a restaurant. After a long journey you are hungry. When we were at the Maharani at 20 to 6, there were probably 20 people there. We were really lucky and got a table. Even a table for 4 in the front area by the window. However, with a time limit, which didn't bother us. There was chicken mango and lamb vindaloo. I can't say anything about the chicken, but it's supposed to be super tasty. My lamb was buttery tender and the sauce was to die for. Great chili note, the spices, something changed on the palate with every bite. Really good. The service was also really good. Super friendly. We were given very good advice. You feel comfortable here as a guest. Conclusion: When we are back in Bremen we will definitely come back.

Soooo delicious! We were here (unfortunately) for the first time and will now come more often. We know Indian cuisine well. But here it might have been delicious! In addition, there is a very harmonious atmosphere and great service from very nice people. We'll be back soon.

We wanted to try something new - unfortunately that was a big mistake. The food was already cold when it came to the table and the meat had a strange taste that I can hardly describe. Absolutely disappointing! But that's not all: the service was very unfriendly. My husband looked for the toilet and asked at the bar, only to be told in a completely unfriendly manner that it was “big enough” and that you could “read it if you can read”. I have rarely experienced such impudence! We will definitely not visit this restaurant again and cannot recommend it to anyone.

Shortly after 6 p.m. the restaurant was already so busy that we were glad we had made a reservation. The service was very good in every respect. Fast, friendly, attentive. The food is of comparable good quality, the preparation of the Hariyali Chicken (Chicken Green Tikka) was excellent, so the price-performance ratio is also right. I have known the Maharani for an incredibly long time, back then he was still under a strong father. Even then it was good. But what Tarek did with it and still does is simply amazing. Apart from the really good cuisine - for me the Maharani Bremens is the first place to go when it comes to this cuisine - the whole thing just fits. Last night we also had the pleasure of being looked after by John - it was a highlight for all of us - at a business lunch. Great. You remain my favorite shop when I go out for Indian food. Thanks.

Have been there several times with friends now. The food always delighted us. In addition, the absolutely attentive and friendly service and, despite the busy restaurant, very pleasant acoustics justify the full 5 stars.

Disgusting service - absolutely disappointing! I have never experienced such disrespect in a restaurant! On February 28th around 8:00 p.m. my colleague and I were greeted unfriendly by the young gentleman at the bar. Without a greeting, they just said brusquely: “Wait here to see if we still have a place.” The manner alone was unpleasant, but it got worse. After waiting more than five minutes, I politely asked a passing waitress if a seat was available - a perfectly normal question in case we had been forgotten. Suddenly the young man from the bar intervened and snapped at me in a disrespectful tone: "Brother, why are you asking the waitress? I asked! I decide, not you! If I say you wait, then you wait!" And in front of other guests! This embarrassing and disgraceful behavior is absolutely unacceptable. If someone is dissatisfied with their job or personal life, it shouldn't be taken out on the guest! Our company used to hold business lunches here regularly, but that will no longer happen. Such behavior is damaging to business. I can only advise you to pay more attention to your choice of staff - such disrespectful treatment of customers is simply unacceptable!

It was cozy, the food came quickly and was overall tasty. Unfortunately my lamb was a bit dry and the tomato sauce was rather bland, the vegetables were delicious, fresh and crunchy. Naan bread and rice were available if required. Unfortunately you can only stay 1 hour 45 minutes. There was easily enough time to eat. But we didn't have enough time to order dessert. A total of 2.5 hours would have been nice to have a nice chat, so we kept checking the clock.

In short: food and staff 10/10!

Very friendly, unobtrusive reception. We didn't have a reservation and got a comfortable window seat. The restaurant with a relatively narrow front on the street has large rooms and lots of seats. In addition to the large menu, there is a delicious lunch menu: vegetarian thali for €11.90, non-veg thali with poultry and beef for €12.90; Starter soup and rice included. Delicious mango lassie for €4.40; cup of chai tea for €3.2 Everything was visually appealing and tasted delicious. We were very satisfied!

Went to the Maharani this evening. Had lamb tikka & tandori chicken. Unfortunately the food and the sauce were very salty. The lamb was also dry. But the staff was very nice and accommodating.

Food was good and authentic. It doesn't taste like Maggi's bagged curry. It might take some getting used to for the German palate but it's good. We were completely full. Service was tip top Ambience was ok. The most important thing: Everything is clean and there is plenty of space. Prices are quite steep. The three of us paid exactly €100.

We took the opportunity to enjoy the buffet on New Year's Eve, everything was very tastefully and delicately prepared. Everything was certainly according to original Indian recipes, everything was delicious and plentiful. Many thanks to the nice and competent staff.

We had our departmental dinner here for Christmas and were all very happy and very full! The food tasted great, the starters especially the cheese were great. However, I would like to highlight the first-class service; rarely have we been so well cared for and advised; everything was dealt with perfectly. Clear recommendation for anyone who likes Indian food.

I wanted to order again after a long time, the telephone availability is still a disaster... first you have to ring the bell for a minute, then finally someone picks up and types on the phone without answering. Then I tried a few more times, without success... then no, thanks for nothing. The food was always like that, nothing really special but okay... I have no idea why I kept ordering here, I think the prices used to be good... I also had bad experiences with the service there , e.g. long waiting time despite pre-ordering because they messed up the order, kept waiting despite asking and not even an apology afterwards
